Bundy: Obama's Jump-the-Shark

Lloyd Marcus   "When the embrace-our-consensus-or-die bunch tried to destroy Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson, we the people rallied around Phil and said, “Heck no!”
Who could have imagined that a humble rancher taking a stand against tyranny would inspire millions to said, “Heck no!” across America?

"This is why I ignore the gloom-and-doomers who say all is lost, why continue fighting, Obama has all the power and the MSM, yada, yada, yada.

"Evil is masterful at appearing all-powerful.  Cultural rot is all over the airwaves.  Obama rules as king with very little push-back from the GOP.  The MSM has suspended all pretense of being fair and balanced.  They are a wing of the Democratic Party, committed to helping Obama fundamentally transform America."

"But under the radar, patriots are stealthily working and fighting to restore our great nation.

Martial law: Obama confiscates National Guard helicopters from all 50 states (UPDATED)

Obama administration is confiscating all of the Apaches...
Examiner.com  "As if the Obama administration's purchase of more than 2 billion rounds of ammunition, and nearly 3,000 urban tanks, along with their unprecedented (and highly illegal) domestic spying program was not enough to convince you that the federal government is about to suspend the Constitution once and for all, the man who once vowed to run "the most transparent administration in history" has just rather inexplicably, ordered the U.S. Army to seize every Apache attack helicopter currently in use by the National Guard."

It isn't as if Obama needs them for a larger military; he's downsizing that. See if they go into storage somewhere.
Hat tip to Harley Standlee; Placerville, Ca.

Proposed Apache cuts worry former SC Guard leader   "A Pentagon budget plan to take Army National Guard Apache attack helicopters from America’s citizen-soldiers doesn’t sit well with the South Carolina general who commanded an Apache battalion and flew the fearsome choppers for 1,500 hours during his 37-year career.
“ 'It could be problematic for the U.S. Army as a whole. You are losing upward of 20 years of experience that we, the nation, need,” said Maj. Gen. Les Eisner ...

Army Would take Apaches from Nat'l Guard   ..."That would be a reversal of the work that has been done to make the National Guard and reserves into a force that, with a few months lead time, can be used interchangeably with active-duty units, as has happened frequently during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. To achieve that, guard and reserve forces have acquired the same equipment, trained to the same standards and served on deployments of the same length as their active-duty counterparts, most of them at part-time pay while working regular full-time jobs."

An aviation restructuring plan would take all the National Guard's Apaches, just under 200 aircraft from eight attack battalions
Army restructuring would take Apaches from Guard
"Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., has proposed a bill that would forestall the shifting of helicopters and establish a commission to look at the future structure of the Army, a move Guard leaders support as both forces determine how best to reduce their numbers in coming years. The Guard would like the Army's aviation restructuring to be postponed until a commission can look at the issues."   So glad to see Rep. Wilson still on the job.  Remember "You lie!"?

PETA scolds Michelle Obama over using real eggs for Easter Egg Roll   "PETA is urging first lady Michelle Obama to substitute fake eggs for the 19,000 real ones to be used in Monday's Easter Egg Roll, claiming that egg production is cruel and eating them unhealthy and a violation of her “Let's Move!” agenda."  Well, these people are Obama voters in all likelihood.

Ben Carson: White House wanted apology for ‘offending’ Obama. Did David Colbert ever apologize to President Bush?

"The Obama administration at its petulant best.' Weasel Zippers

WASHINGTON - JUNE 19: U.S. President George W. Bush (R) presents a Presidential Medal of Freedom to Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. M.D (L), for his work withneurological disorders during an East Room ceremony June 19, 2008 at the White House in Washington, DC. The medal is the nation

Daily Caller ...“ 'He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of the program, I received a call from some of the prayer breakfast organizers saying that the White House was upset and requesting that I call the president and apologize for offending him. I said that I did not think that he was offended and that I didn’t think that such a call was warranted.”

"Conservatives rallied around Carson last year after his remarks, made from a podium as Obama sat just feet away. In his speech, he railed against “political correctness” and offered specific ideas for health care reform."  More here.

Contrast that with the Colbert-Bush episode at the 2006 White House Correspondents Association dinner where Colbert took cheap shot after Cheap shot at President Bush. He knew Bush's class would ensure his safety. Before a liberal crowd, Mr. Colbert was like the little toady in "A Christmas Story" who has Scut Farkus behind him.

Obama's Pencil-thin Presidency

American Thinker   ... "Pens suggest importance and permanence. Great documents are composed with pens.  Pivotal moments in history are recorded in ink, as are inspiring presidential legacies. The references to the current president inserted into those biographies, however, are sketched in the erasable strokes of a pencil -- as is everything else Obama has ever produced or that his presidency has inspired.

"Pencils' output is flexible. Pencils design and transform and spin.  Pencils redefine, divide, draw distractions and smudge and distort and erase:  facts, events, and narratives.

"Penciled opinions can conveniently evolve.  Penciled statistics, measurements and books are easily cooked. Red lines marked by pencils can be erased and redrawn. Laws become mere “suggestions” and imply a “vast amount of discretion” in enforcement."
....
"Because Obama is a “master of words” -- one with the ability to control their meaning -- his pencil, aided by a vast media complex, is a tool that holds the potential for absolute power as executive, legislator and judge.
....
"Thomas Sowell put it a little clearer than Mr. Tribe when he observed about Obama: “One of the many ways of lying smoothly is to simply redefine words.”

“ 'This is clearly in extremely poor taste against the backdrop of growing Russian intimidation in the Ukraine,” says Nile Gardiner, director of Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation.

" ‘You have a key Obama administration official celebrating the Soviet era, an era in which tens of millions of people died at the hands of a brutal totalitarian system,” Gardiner adds. “It is simply disgraceful for the White House press secretary to be glorifying the propaganda of a monstrously evil tyranny.”

... "Unaware of the witch hunt carried out by McCarthy’s rainbow-brandishing gay great-grandsons in Silicon Valley, a middle-aged man came forward and cried out in Italian, “Is it just me, or is the gay lobby imposing a dictatorship on us with their so-called scientific experts?”

"The science to which he referred wasn’t JavaScript, but rather psychology and pediatrics.  He was referring to homosexual activists’ constant invocation of research supposedly proving that kids don’t need a mom and a dad, because scientists in lab coats with horrendous conflicts of interest publish peer-reviewed papers claiming that the statistics prove that children can be removed from a parent and still be “well-adjusted.' ”...

Here's how much health plan premiums spiked over the last four years of Obamacare's rollout    "The average increases for the present quarter are in excess of 11% in the small group market and 12% in the individual market, where consumers purchase coverage directly from health plans. Some states show increases 10 to 50 times that amount. The analysts conclude that the “increases are largely due to changes under the ACA.” So how do these increases, for the health plans renewing this quarter, compare to rate increases experienced during other quarterly periods over the last four years?

The Warthog, a soldier’s best friend; Obama, not so much

Paul Mirengoff   "Why is President Bush so much more popular than President Obama among Iraq and Afghanistan veterans? That’s an easy one. Bush was the president of let’s roll. Obama is the president of let’s retreat.
Iraq and Afghanistan veterans subscribed to the motto that America’s colors “don’t run.” Under Obama, however, they have.

"There must also be a sense that Bush had a closer personal connection than Obama with those who put their lives on the line for our country. Bush made a special point of comforting the families of soldiers who died fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to frequent visits to Walter Reed Hospital and to families of the fallen, he sent personal letters to the families of every one of the more than 4,000 troops who died in the two wars, an enormous personal effort that consumed hours of his time and escaped public notice.

"Obama, of course, sends letters of condolence to families of the fallen. But controversy has surrounded them. " ...
