On campus; are these our best and brightest?

"Brilliant, and one can only ask, “Are these the smartest of the smart?”  Ironically, perhaps the only rational participants in these disturbances are the non-student professional agitators bedecked in their balaclavas whose mission is just to create violent chaos.  They at least have a chance of succeeding."

Useful Idiots for Hamas - Robert Weissberg  . . ."Current disturbances lack this rational: self-interested elements and many participants are clueless when asked to explain their action.  In a nutshell, while anti-war protestors wanted to end the draft and avoid Vietnam, and blacks demanded more educational resources, today’s protestors want to eradicate a country of nine million people possessing the most powerful, nuclear-equipped army in the Middle East. Moreover, this mission is to be accomplished by shouting “Death to America” and disrupting classes." . . .

Bill Maher Rips Biden Student Loan Forgiveness: ‘My Tax Dollars Are Supporting This Jew Hating?’ (legalinsurrection.com)  . . ."During Friday night’s panel discussion, while discussing the anti-Israel unrest occurring at top universities in recent weeks, Maher said he gets “so incensed” at how many of the students participating receive federal aid.

“When I read about the college loans… ‘Biden administration’s student debt cancelation will cost a combined $870 billion to $1.4 trillion. That’s a lot of debt forgiveness,” Maher said.

"Maher continued, “Colleges constantly raise tuition, then the kids take out more loans, then the government comes by and pays those loans. Okay, so my tax dollars are supporting this Jew hating? I don’t think so.”

"Fox News contributor Kellyanne Conway said the student loan handout was unfair, telling Maher “You can’t have plumbers and pipefitters playing for the student loans of doctors and lawyers.”

“ 'I’m all for the government trying to help people who need it, but he did that as a political play and everybody knows it. He’s bleeding young people support.” Conway added." . . .

Pro-Hamas protestors get Columbia to cancel commencement, but run into trouble when they try to shut down the Met Gala - Monica Showalter

Which raises questions about what the university's priorities are, and how embarrassing it is that a commercial venture like Anna Wintour's Met Gala understands that if you want to hold and event, you keep disruptors out, you don't 'negotiate' with them, you don't kowtow to them, because the show must go on. What's Columbia's excuse?

NY schools collaborate to hold special graduation for non-straight students   "A City University of New York system school in Manhattan is among the latest institutions to offer a “Lavender Graduation” for students who identify as LGBT." . . .

'ALL THESE IDIOTS GET ADMITTED': Alan Dershowitz on student protesters: WATCH   "Campus Reform Higher Education Fellow Nick Giordano engages in a candid conversation with Professor Alan Dershowitz as they delve into the turmoil unfolding across college campuses nationwide, especially within the esteemed ‘Ivy League’ institutions. Rather than nurturing the next generation of leaders, these campuses have regrettably evolved into hubs of radical indoctrination that perpetuate anti-Americanism and antisemitism. Professor Dershowitz, acclaimed author of War Against the Jews, articulates the urgent need for accountability among college administrators and faculty members, who have enabled this chaos by their inaction, and in some cases encouragement." . . .
