Obama's speech Sunday evening:

Drudge photo: Obama saves Christmas
AP "President Barack Obama will use his Sunday night address on terrorism to urge the American people not to "give in to fear" after the California shootings, and may ask Congress to take action to further safeguard national security, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said.

"Lynch also said that "dealing with guns is one way to handle the violence crime issues that we have in this country.' "
. . .
"The shootings, he added, presented "another tragic reminder that here in America it's way too easy for dangerous people to get their hands on a gun."
"Authorities say they believe the guns used in San Bernardino were legally obtained.

From the White House via Infowars:
Tomorrow at 8pm ET, President Obama will address the nation from the Oval Office about the steps our government is taking to fulfill his highest priority: keeping the American people safe. The President will provide an update on the ongoing investigation into the tragic attack in San Bernardino. The President will also discuss the broader threat of terrorism, including the nature of the threat, how it has evolved, and how we will defeat it. He will reiterate his firm conviction that ISIL will be destroyed and that the United States must draw upon our values – our unwavering commitment to justice, equality and freedom – to prevail over terrorist groups that use violence to advance a destructive ideology.
"CBS News, however, contradicts this by stating the address will deal with gun control."
. . . And here’s the truth: In California, they already have liberals’ wish list of gun control laws. Background checks, registration, waiting periods, gun bans, you name it. It ain’t working." . . .
What can Obama say, besides a lot of "me"s, "mine"s, and "I"'s? Hmmm. "Follow them to the gates of hell" went nowhere; "ultimately destroy" was a non-starter and the world knew it; well- the enemy knew it anyway. Of course, Code Pink-types must have known it or they would have been out protesting in force. TD

Obama to address Americans from the Oval Office tonight   "I have to assume that Valerie Jarrett has become alarmed at the public reaction the his feckless response to the San Bernardino shootings, attempting to deny terrorism on the part of a couple one of whom posted her allegiance to ISIS.
"So what will he say? Predictions are always risky, of course, so let me outline some of the alternatives he could choose from and assess their probability."

. . . If the President is ready to “keep America safe” on the home front, the other possibility is that he’ll use the San Bernardino attacks as an excuse to make it harder for them to get guns. If you doubt that he’s got something like that in mind, the Daily Caller reported last week that Team Obama has been working on just such a plan already." . . . (Emphasis in the original)

Obama Tells Us We’ve “NEVER BEEN SAFER” From ISIS.   "Obama made the remarks in an interview taped Wednesday, shortly after a mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., that killed at least 14 people."

VIDEO: PM Netanyahu Rejects Kerry’s Warning of Binational State

Yeshiva World News  "Israel’s prime minister insists his country is not heading toward becoming a binational state, rejecting a warning to that effect by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
"At his weekly Cabinet meeting Sunday, Benjamin Netanyahu says “Israel will not be a binational state, but in order to have peace, the other side needs to decide that it wants peace as well.' ”

A hero at the shooting

"Another hero from the San Bernadino shooting! The ultimate display of love!

"Jesus said, "“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:12-13 ESV

"May God comfort his family and friends."

Links on the murderous jihad in San Bernardino

ISIS claim responsibility for California massacre   "ISIS has claimed responsibility for the California attack on a social services agency that left 14 people dead.
The terror group announced in an online radio broadcast that two ISIS followers had carried out the attack in San Bernardino on Wednesday.
Two followers of Islamic State attacked several days ago a center in San Bernardino in California,’ the group’s daily broadcast al-Bayan said.

Media Lies to Protect Sensibilities* of Terrorists
*Um, "sensitivities"?  Anyway:  . . . "Two attackers were killed, and for hours the media didn’t mention the nationality of the two dead Muslims. However, most Americans came to the conclusion this attack was probably carried out by Muslim jihadis since there were no reports about the description shooters who was killed.
"The logic was a process of elimination. If the shooters were black, the name would have been released, not the ethnicity. Had they been white, everyone knows that news would be out faster than a monkey riding a bike by Loma Linda."

Media Malpractice On Mass Shootings After Calif. Attack
"Media Bias: The mainstream press likes to say it is the guardian of truth, protecting the masses from bogus information on the Web. But in the wake of the San Bernardino shooting, it was the one peddling it.
In the past few days, just about every major media outlet made the same claim: that there have been 355 mass shootings in the U.S. this year.

Welcome to Global Governance! Climate Change Agreement Reached

S. Noble
 climate

"The US is now responsible for developing poor countries throughout the world thanks to Barack Obama and his crew.
"An agreement on the blueprint was reached today by 195 countries.
"The draft states: “Developed countries shall provide developing countries with long-term, scaled-up, predictable, new and additional finance, technology and capability-building.”
"They are going to slow the pace of climate change. Think of how insane that sounds.
"They are going to hold global average temperatures below 1.5 degree C or well below 2 degrees Celsius increase over pre-industrial global temperatures. There goes progress. A/C will get very expensive.
"They also plan to eradicate poverty. That sounds expensive for the US." . . .

The Attorney General of the United States Is Disgracing Herself

NRO  . . . "Lynch addressed the Muslim Advocate’s tenth-anniversary dinner and declared that she is concerned about an “incredibly disturbing rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric . . . that fear is my greatest fear.” Her greatest fear is — not terrorism — but a nonexistent Islamophobic backlash? ISIS has demonstrated that it can bring down passenger jets, strike the heart of a great Western capitol with urban assault teams, and inspire horrible carnage in California. We also know that ISIS has pledged to keep attacking the U.S. and possesses chemical weapons. Yet it’s politically incorrect speech that strikes fear into the heart of our attorney general Read more

One question about our Syrian refugee "vetting" process

Green Dragon Forum

So much for our vetting process   . . . "This entire scenario should also serve as a wake-up call that Muslims living outside America bent on inflicting harm can use this K-1 (fiancé) visa as an easy route into the country.  Quite likely jihadists have already figured this out and are exploiting it via dating web sites.

"So Malik flew across our border despite lying on her visa application.  And then her luck continued when a neighbor didn’t report suspicious activity at Farook’s and Malik’s home out of PC fear of profiling.
"Where is Jeh Johnson, head of the Department of Homeland Security?  He should be questioned about the ability of his department to perform the most basic of screening, but he has been entirely absent from the media since the shooting in San Bernardino began." . . .

We'd better start profiling terrorists....  "First, we need a formal declaration of war so that everyone is on board.  My guess is that most Americans understand that declaring war is a necessary step.
"Two, we need to start profiling terrorists.
"Back in October 2001, about a month after September 11, Peggy Noonan wrote something that stills makes a lot of sense:  " . . .
Just who in our three branches of government has the character and courage to do such a thing in the face of college riots and peace-mongers in silly costumes?

Cruz is advancing and will continue to advance

Althouse   "Let's look a this new CNN poll of registered Republicans and independents who say they lean Republican (PDF):

. . . "Cruz is the alternative to Trump who is least likely to provoke Trump to run as a third party candidate. This makes Cruz an especially compelling alternative for those who want a Republican to win the presidency and think the American electorate will balk at the too-weird Trump. Trump may almost be seen as paving the way for Cruz by developing the same issues and by making Cruz — who also has a weirdness problem — seem, by contrast, normal.

"I wonder what Hillary and her people think, who they're most afraid of. Perhaps there are so many variables that it's not worth figuring out who would be the most dangerous opponent. I've assumed that they are most worried about Rubio. Rubio is attractive, but Trump seems to hate him. I'm thinking Cruz is more dangerous, because Trump will support him. And Cruz will be harder to argue with. Hillary is excellent at maintaining a steely demeanor and she could draw sympathy with the brutish Trump insulting her. With Cruz, she will have to engage in a much more active substantive, verbal way. "

"Daily Beast  The first image of suspected San Bernardino shooter Tashfeen Malik has emerged Friday evening, as obtained by ABC News. Malik, who allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS around the time she and husband Syed Farook killed 14 people on Wednesday, was born in Pakistan and moved to Saudi Arabia 25 years ago. She and U.S.-born Farook met on a dating website and married in the summer of 2014. She came to America on a K1 “fiancé” visa and received her green card this summer."

A Response to a Black Student at Columbia

"The notion that she is “looking at history through the lens of these powerful, white men” means that race trumps profundity, wisdom, beauty and excellence. Thus, Shakespeare is not the greatest playwright we know of, he is just a white European (and male, to boot). Likewise Beethoven, Bach and other Western composers did not compose what is arguably the greatest music ever composed; they, too, were first and foremost white.

Dennis Prager

"Two weeks ago, the Columbia University newspaper, the Spectator, published an article titled “Students, faculty address institutionalized racism at University Life event.”
"As described in the article, one example of the institutionalized racism that black Columbia students must endure is the university’s Core Curriculum.
"In the words of one of the panelists, fifth-year undergraduate student Nissy Aya, a young black woman, “It’s traumatizing to sit in Core classes. We are looking at history through the lens of these powerful, white men. I have no power or agency as a black woman, so where do I fit in?”
"Her words are worthy of analysis and response." . . .

Robert Gates writes in WaPo: The kind of president we need

. . . "Restrained from questioning the motives of those who disagree and treating them as enemies with no redeeming qualities." . . .
Robert M. Gates   The writer served as secretary of defense in the George W. Bush and Obama administrations.

"Many Americans are mad as hell at our political leaders — both Republican and Democrat — and are giving voice to their anger through the likes of Donald Trump and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). The anger is understandable. The federal government is paralyzed, unable to tackle any of the major problems facing our country or even accomplish basic functions such as enacting annual budgets for federal departments and agencies. The anger derives equally from governmental ineptitude, arrogance and corruption, and self-serving politicians more concerned with getting reelected than with the nation’s future.
"The next president will face major domestic problems, as well as the challenges posed by Iran, Russia, China, North Korea, terrorism and a Middle East in turmoil. What kind of qualities should we be looking for in a new chief executive? Based on my experience working for eight presidents, of both political parties, here is my take:" . . .
. . . "The next president must lead in restoring civility to our political process. We must hope that the president we elect next year will again and again remind all Americans of our common destiny, and that our fate as a nation and as a people is bound up with one another. Our new leader should appeal, in President Abraham Lincoln’s words, to “the better angels of our nature.' ”

A WORLDWIDE REVOLUTION

The Freedom Fighter's Journal

“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed;
if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly;
you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival.
There may even be a worse case.
You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”
Sir Winston Churchill
