Greta Thunberg and Other Child Hostages Obey Their Climate Captors

"It would be easy to ignore Thunberg as the climate cabal’s latest pawn, but every parent should pay attention. Thunberg (not to mention millions like her) is the product of more than two decades of dangerous climate propaganda. They are hostages to their adult climate captors – from presidents to celebrities to teachers and religious leaders."

Intellectual Takeout.

September 20, 2019; "On Friday, schoolchildren around the world will be prompted to walk out of class as part of the “Global Climate Strike.” These young “climate strikers” will protest alleged inaction on climate change and promote an end to fossil fuel use.

“ 'Our house is on fire – let’s act like it. We demand climate justice for everyone,” the event’s website warns.
"It is the latest stunt orchestrated by the international climate cabal and yet another example of how the left shamelessly exploits and manipulates children to propagandize any cause. (Think of the high school students in Parkland, Florida.) But this time, the climate cabal is using a special-needs teenager from Sweden to indoctrinate more children and adults with climate change dogma.

"In a way, Thunberg is not the face of a climate crisis but an alarming example of how the climate cabal has needlessly terrified two generations of young people. The emotional, physical, and intellectual damage wrought by the climate change movement now is coming into clear view and it’s an outcome that should enrage every parent.

"Watching Thunberg speak evokes a combination of sadness, pity, and anger. She’s diminutive and far more childlike in her mannerisms and presentation than a typical teenager. It’s unclear whether she truly grasps the issue she is promoting – what is clear is that many adults are using her to generate sympathy and support for a dangerous crusade that they, as grown-ups, cannot carry out on their own.

"Thunberg, the story goes, became so distraught over climate change that she briefly dropped out of school in 2018 to protest the Swedish parliament. Her climate trauma began at age 8, when she first started hearing tales of climate doom at school." . . .

UPDATE: Sept 23:  The Tragedy Of Greta ThunbergOur Lady of Sorrows
. . . "It’s the fault of ideologues who obsess over every weather event as if it were Armageddon, ignoring the massive moral upside of carbon-fueled modernity. It’s the politicians, too cowardly to tell voters that their utopian notion of a world fueled by solar panels and windmills is fairy tale.
"It’s the fault of media that ignores overwhelming evidence that, on balance, climate change isn’t undermining human flourishing. By nearly every quantifiable measure, in fact, we are better off because of fossil fuels — though there is no way to measure the human spirit, I’m afraid." . . .

What’s behind climate change activist Greta Thunberg’s remarkable rise to fame?
. . . "Less than a year ago, she was an unknown schoolgirl from Sweden, albeit an unusual one: she is the daughter of a famous opera singer and an actor. Thunberg also has Asperger’s syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder and selective mutism." . . .
. . . "Thunberg’s school strike had coincided neatly with the launch of a book about climate change written by her mother, Malena Ernman. Is this a coincidence? It looks less like one when you learn . . . "
. . . "But now, the ‘Wizard of Oz’ outfits and the pigtails look to be less odd and more calculated: the careful packaging of a product so that it gets noticed rather than an unusual penchant for 1950s fashion. What we have seen is surely an example of marketing genius rather than a miraculous stroke of luck." . . .

We spy on our president?

Biden should be prosecuted for using his public office for private gain. The fact that he was so casual about it -- bragging about it -- shows this was a common occurrence for him and Obama. The fact that the media did not blow this up into a Covington Catholic MAGA Cap scandal shows the media is in on the scam.

Don Surber  "Well, well, well, the much trumpeted whistle-blower scandal promoted by the Washington Post and the New York Times turns out to be an attempt to bring Joe Biden's cocaine-addled son to justice.
"Last year, Biden bragged that as vice president, he put the arm on Ukraine not to prosecute Hunter Biden in a bribery scandal.
"The son received $600,000 a year from Burisma Holdings, Ukraine gas company, for a no show job.
"Ukrainian prosecutors were investigating the company's bribery.
"Biden stepped in to stop it.
"He said last year, "I remember going over (to Ukraine), convincing our team … that we should be providing for loan guarantees. … And I was supposed to announce that there was another billion-dollar loan guarantee. And I had gotten a commitment from (then Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko) and from (then-Prime Minister Arseniy) Yatsenyuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor (Shokin). And they didn’t…
" 'They were walking out to a press conference. I said, nah, … we’re not going to give you the billion dollars. They said, ‘You have no authority. You’re not the president.’ … I said, call him. I said, I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars. I said, you’re not getting the billion. … I looked at them and said, ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, son of a bitch. He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time."
"That is corruption." . . .

'Are we going to do it again?': Bill Maher warns Democrats against attacks on Brett Kavanaugh

The Kavanaugh family before the Judiciary hearings.
Washington Examiner  "Bill Maher criticized Democrats for resurfacing unsubstantiated sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and calling for the judge's impeachment.
"Maher, the host of Real Time with Bill Maher, used his Friday night show to attack Democratic strategy and warned of the "Kavanaugh effect" that possibly cost multiple swing-state Democratic senators their seats in 2018.
Booker and Harris enjoying the destruction of the Judge.
"In the 2018 election, it looks like Democrats could’ve won Indiana, North Dakota, Florida, Missouri, and West Virginia. All five were home to Democratic senators running for election in tight races. Joe Manchin, the only one that voted for Kavanaugh, won. The other four lost," Maher said, describing the "Kavanaugh effect."
" 'They have polling on this. People did not like going after a guy for what he did in high school. It looked bad, and now Democrats are talking about impeaching him again?" Maher asked his panel.
"NBC analyst Heather McGhee defended Democratic attacks on Kavanaugh, asserting that the allegations against Kavanaugh are relevant to his Supreme Court position as a "moral arbiter."
" 'Yes, it was about something a long time ago, but it goes to character. We are not talking about a job like we have. We are talking about being one of the nine moral arbiters of this great nation," McGhee said.
Milano's publicity shot.
"Maher called Kavanaugh a "creep" but maintained that Democratic attacks on the judge are mistakes and that people’s actions from high school should not burden them for the rest of their lives.
"Democratic attacks on Kavanaugh ramped up again after New York Times reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly adapted an excerpt from their book for an article in the newspaper.
"The article appeared to drop a bombshell accusation against Kavanaugh that had not yet been reported, but the New York Times later corrected the article to reflect that the alleged victim did not remember the incident in question.
"Before the article was corrected, several Democratic presidential candidates called for Kavanaugh's impeachment, including California Sen. Kamala Harris, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke, and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg."

Whistleblower Complaint Now Looks Like Democrat Effort to Protect Joe Biden from Investigation…

The Last Refuge  "The mysterious “whistleblower” case now looks like a coordinated Democrat effort to block any investigation of presidential candidate Joe Biden for corrupt pressure on Ukraine to drop the investigation of Burisma, an energy company operating in the country, on which his son Hunter Biden was a board member.
In March 2016, then Vice-President Joe Biden warned Ukraine that $1 billion in loan guarantees would be withheld by the U.S. unless they replaced Viktor Shokin, the prosecutor general who was investigating Hunter Biden.  Ukraine did remove Shokin, and the prosecution was dropped.  It looks like a clear case of a quid-pro-quo.
"However, as things are starting to shake out, the current obfuscation to protect Joe Biden is President Trump asking Ukraine’s new president Volodymyr Zelensky to take another look at the issues surrounding the former government’s decision to fire the Ukrainian prosecutor.  This is presumably the call concerning to the whistleblower.  To wit, democrats see this as Trump asking Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election.
Washington Post – A whistleblower complaint about President Trump made by an intelligence official centers on Ukraine, according to two people familiar with the matter, which has set off a struggle between Congress and the executive branch.
The complaint involved communications with a foreign leader and a “promise” that Trump made, which was so alarming that a U.S. intelligence official who had worked at the White House went to the inspector general of the intelligence community, two former U.S. officials said.
. . .
"Three Democrat-controlled house committees – Foreign Affairs, Intelligence and Government Reform – have announced that they will investigate whether a host of ethical and legal rules have been violated."

House Hearing Erupts After Republican Confronts Al Sharpton Over Anti-Semitic, Anti-White Remarks

Daily Caller

"House Judiciary Committee hearing on policing erupted Thursday after GOP Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz confronted Al Sharpton over anti-Semitic and anti-white remarks he has allegedly made throughout his career.
"During the hearing, Gaetz used his allotted time to read quotes attributed to Sharpton about Jewish people, whites and some blacks.
“ 'Have you ever referred to members of the Jewish faith as ‘white interlopers’ or ‘diamond merchants?'” Gaetz asked at one point during a tense back-and-forth.
“ 'No sir, I referred to one in Harlem, an individual,” Sharpton acknowledged.
"Sharpton also said he did not recall quotes attributed to him regarding “crackers” and “homos.' ”

'Equal-opportunity attacker': Sharpton bristles at Gaetz confrontation in chaotic House hearing   . . . "Nadler, 72, called Gaetz's questioning "obnoxious" but said he could not object to them. "This is an outrage," Democratic Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee cut in, saying Gaetz was impugning Sharpton's character. Gaetz and Sharpton continued yelling at each other before Nadler cut them off, saying the congressman's time had expired.

"Sharpton rose to prominence in the '80s and '90s for his activism, which has been described as "race-baiting." He is especially notorious for his role in the 1991 Crown Heights riots." . . .
“Liberals Clarify Their Racism Is Actually Democratic Racism.”  "Racism and anti-Semitism keep surfacing in liberal circles, much as the sexual predators of “me too” fame mostly turn out to be on the left. So what should liberals do? The Babylon Bee encourages them not to back down: “Liberals Clarify Their Racism Is Actually Democratic Racism.” Hey, it worked for socialism. Right?" . . .
. . . "More and more, as Democrats demonize “whiteness,” they are coming out of the closet as racists. (Although, to be fair, their belief that blacks can’t think for themselves politically is racist, as is their willingness to discriminate against Asians.) But hey–when Democrats do it, it’s democratic!"

On Racism; that Babylon Bee article: Liberals Clarify Their Racism Is Actually Democratic Racism
"Liberals seem to have a problem as more Justin Trudeau blackface photos have surfaced. Meanwhile, Democratic politicians in America continue to say anti-semitic things.
"In their defense, liberals have come out to clarify that their racism isn't the destructive kind condemned by most of humanity, but rather, it's a new improved form called "democratic racism."
"It's not racism---it's democratic racism," Justin Trudeau assured supporters as 78 new images surfaced of him in various shades of brown makeup. "It's totally different from regular racism, and to imply that our racism is the same as the bad kind of racism is ignorant."
To separate the new democratic racism from old, boring racism, liberals pointed out that their form is very popular, and that their base is willing to defend their racist actions and comments. "See, they voted for us, and no matter what crazy racist comments we make, they'll vote for us again," said Ilhan Omar. "Where regular racism is condemned by all, democratic racism is voted for by our supporters. So it's, like, democratic."
"Also, white men are bad."

Doomsdays That Didn’t Happen: Think Tank Compiles Decades’ Worth Of Dire Climate Predictions

Weasel Zippers

A little reality for the climate cult.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently suggested Miami would disappear in “a few years” due to climate change. The United Nations is convening a “Climate Action Summit” next week. And climate activist Greta Thunberg is on Capitol Hill this week telling lawmakers they must act soon. But while data from NASA and other top research agencies confirms global temperatures are indeed rising, a newly compiled retrospective indicates the doomsday rhetoric is perhaps more overheated.
The conservative-leaning Competitive Enterprise Institute has put together a lengthy compilation of apocalyptic predictions dating back decades that did not come to pass, timed as Democratic presidential candidates and climate activists refocus attention on the issue.
The dire predictions, often repeated in the media, warned of a variety of impending disasters – famine, drought, an ice age, and even disappearing nations – if the world failed to act on climate change.
An Associated Press headline from 1989 read “Rising seas could obliterate nations: U.N. officials.” The article detailed a U.N. environmental official warning that entire nations would be eliminated if the world failed to reverse warming by 2000.
Then there were the fears that the world would experience a never-ending “cooling trend in the Northern Hemisphere.” That claim came from an “international team of "specialists” cited by The New York Times in 1978.

The walls finally may be closing in on Ilhan Omar

Wishful thinking? Remember Democrats have been above consequences.

Thomas Lifson  "There is ample reason to suspect that Rep. Ilhan Omar has committed multiple frauds.  Scott Johnson of Powerline, a retired attorney, has been covering the
freshman House member ever since her run for the Minnesota state Legislature, and has been among the most active investigators of suspicions that she committed immigration fraud by legally marrying her brother in order to get him into the United States.  Yesterday, he wrote about the genesis of his suspicions:

A few days after I started writing about Ilhan Omar on Power Line in August 2016 — after she had won the primary for the DFL state legislative endorsement — I was contacted by a source who agreed to discuss his knowledge of Omar's family with me. At our meeting he told me that Ahmed Nur Said Elmi — Omar's legal husband, so to speak, as of that date — was Omar's brother and that she had married him for fraudulent purposes.

"And Omar herself entered the United States under an assumed identity:

My source told me that Omar and another member or two of the Elmi family had entered the United States as fraudulent members of the Omar family. That would go some way to explain why Omar lacks any acknowledged relative with the name Omar.

"Now a tweet that she deleted two days ago is providing corroboration for those suspicions.  Shaikh Tawhidi, the Imam of Peace, called attention to the deletion:" . . .

Media Ignores Deleted Tweet by Ilhan Omar that Suggests She Married Her Brother
. . . "Indeed, it's not ironclad proof that Omar married her brother to knowingly violate immigration laws. "Nur Said" may be a very common name in Somalia. Even if it isn't common, proving that Omar's former husband was actually her brother wouldn't be certain without a DNA test or reliable eyewitness testimony.
"The media goes into a frenzy about dirt on Trump or conservatives, publishing wild speculation and outright lies. So why not give the same treatment to Omar? For them, it's "See no evil, hear no evil, and write no evil."
"The Minneapolis Star-Tribune has done some first-class reporting on the entire controversy, including Omar's tax evasion and campaign violations. But they have yet to write anything about this new information. Is no one in the press interested in a sitting congresswoman violating the law with impunity?"
Rep. Ilhan Omar calls Fox News host Tucker Carlson a ‘racist fool’ . . . "Carlson asked if “maybe we are importing people from places who are simply antithetical to ours” and called Omar “a living fire alarm — a warning to the rest of us that we better change our immigration system immediately. Or else.'

Mass Murder: Coming to a School Near You

Richard Kirk  "Why Meadow Died: The People and Policies That Created The Parkland Shooter and Endanger America's Students by Andrew Pollack, Max Eden, and Hunter Pollack doesn’t focus primarily on the murderer of seventeen people at Broward County’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas (MSD) High School on Valentine’s Day, 2018, though the book does contain chapters describing the troubled life of the shooter (often designated  by his prison number, 18-1958, to avoid giving the killer further notoriety).  Instead, most of this compelling work exposes the “restorative justice” discipline model brought to Broward County schools by Superintendent Robert Runcie, someone without a background in education who was a Chicago-based IT employee of Obama’s Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan.  It was Runcie’s lenient, racially-focused model that created the mass murderer at MSD High School.  Even worse, that same discipline approach is creating toxic environments in schools across the country thanks to leftist pressure groups and Obama’s education secretary.

"Why Meadow Died was written by Andrew Pollack, the father of Meadow, in conjunction with the Manhattan Institute’s senior fellow in education policy, Max Eden. Meadow was one of seventeen students and adults murdered at MSD High School, an atrocity that happened not because of the availability of guns, but because an ideologically-driven bureaucratic system demanded fake statistics about arrests, suspensions, and student behavior to prove the efficacy of Runcie’s disciplinary approach.  This bogus data was required if teachers and administrators were to survive or advance within this corrupt system.

"After the Parkland shooting, media attention focused overwhelmingly, as it always does, on “gun control.”  The sham “townhall” produced by CNN after the massacre gave a heroic platform to Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, whose department's response to the shooting provided a textbook example of malpractice.  The show’s host and questioners ignored the fact that Israel had cooperated enthusiastically in a school program that all but ignored criminal behavior by students, including actions that would have made it impossible for Cruz to purchase a firearm." . . .

. . . Highlighted in this section is a courageous teen journalist named Kenny Preston, who confronted Runcie and the Board with critical facts that they invariably deflected, misrepresented, or denied.  In an act of unbelievable spite against this young man with mild cognitive issues, Kenny was denied graduation for what seem trivial reasons.  In the authors’ view, “At the end of the school year, Kenny was the only person in the entire Broward County school district to face any consequences for what happened on February 14.”  . . .
