AG Bill Barr Resigns, Trump Announces New Attorney General

NewsLA   "President Donald Trump said on Monday that Attorney General William Barr will be leaving his job just before Christmas and Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen will become acting attorney general.

"Barr, in a letter to Trump posted by the Republican president on Twitter, said he would leave his post on Dec. 23." . . .

. . . Trump is beyond angry that Barr has not done anything about voter fraud allegations in the 2020 election.

"Trump is also said to be upset that Barr knew about Hunter Biden being under investigation and chose not to say anything until after the election.

"Barr claimed that the FBI has followed up on specific complaints of voter fraud yet they have uncovered no evidence that would change the outcome.

“ 'To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election,” Barr told the AP.

"The Justice Department came out and clarified Bill Barr’s remarks to the Associated Press.

“ 'Some media outlets have incorrectly reported that the Department has concluded its investigation of election fraud and announced an affirmative finding of no fraud in the election,” the DOJ spokesperson said. “That is not what the Associated Press reported nor what the Attorney General stated. The Department will continue to receive and vigorously pursue all specific and credible allegations of fraud as expeditiously as possible' ” . . .

The 1619 Project: A Pulitzer Prize goes to a New York Times author who knowingly published lies

Nikole Hannah-Jones, CNN, and MSNBC: the Walter Duranty of our time. TD

Andrea Widburg  "In August 2019, the New York Times debuted the 1619 Project, the brainchild of , a Times staff writer.  The premise was that 1619 marked the year in which the first African slaves came to America, permanently corrupting America's founding.

"The 1619 Project was condemned for serious historical inaccuracies.*  In her inaugural article — "Our democracy's founding ideals were false when they were written. Black Americans have fought to make them true" — Hannah-Jones gave readers a foretaste of the errors that would follow in subsequent articles.  Nevertheless, the Pulitzer committee awarded her its commentary award.

"Most strikingly, Hannah-Jones originally wrote that Americans fought their revolution to preserve slavery, making the whole idea of American liberty a cynical cover for immoral greed:

One critical reason that the colonists declared their independence from Britain was because they wanted to protect the institution of slavery in the colonies, which had produced tremendous wealth. At the time there were growing calls to abolish slavery throughout the British Empire, which would have badly damaged the economies of colonies in both North and South.

"There are two problems with the quoted passage.  The first is that it is historically inaccurate.  The second is that Hannah-Jones knew or should have known that it was incorrect.

"One should always remember that, in 1932, the Pulitzer committee gave one of its coveted awards to Walter Duranty, another New York Times writer, for his articles about the Soviet Union.  In those articles, Duranty followed the Soviet party line, covering up USSR's open tyranny.

"Duranty continued to cover for the Soviet government in post-award reports denying that there was a devastating famine in the USSR.  This naturally covered up the fact that the Soviet government created the famine, partly through government planning and partly to destroy Ukrainian farmers, who were resistant to collectivism.

"Even the Times conceded that Duranty's articles were "some of the worst reporting to appear in this newspaper."  We can now add Hannah-Jones's award-winning piece to that list.

China? Harris?...Obama? Who will run America now?

RedState also points out that Biden's now got the lean and hungry Obama-linked Kamala at his side, and worse still is larding up his Cabinet with former Obama administration retreads such as Tom Vilsack and Susan Rice. Ben Rhodes and Valerie Jarrett, we assume, won't be far behind.

Obama lets the cat out of the bag: He's got plans to make Joe Biden his stooge  "Joe Biden, who couldn't even get President Obama's endorsement during the primaries, now has word that Obama may well use him as his marionette stooge for what's in fact a third Obama term.

"He's not even trying to hide it.

"In an interview over the weekend with Stephen Colbert for The Late Show, Obama admitted:

. . . "Transcript:

... and I used to say, you know what, if I can make an arrangement where I had a stand-in, a front-man, or a front-woman, and they had an earpiece in and I was just in my basement in my sweats looking through the ... stuff, and then I could sort of deliver the lines but someone was doing all the talking and ceremony, I'd be fine with that ...

"This ought to be embarrassing for Biden, given that Obama is effectively letting word slip out that he intends to be Biden's backseat driver, telling the old dotard what to do from behind closed doors, maybe even from some basement.  That's not exactly a vote of confidence, even as Biden presumably assumes the reins of the richest and most powerful nation on Earth.

Tlaib: 'I Hope You Realize Just the Opportunity Here That Allah Has Given Us to Show the Power of Muslims in Georgia’

Another participant in the livestreamed event on Sunday was Palestinian American activist and Women’s March co-founder Linda Sarsour. “You, the Muslim community in Georgia, by yourselves, can literally swing this entire election and send two Democrats to the U.S. Senate, which makes Kamala Harris the deciding vote,” she said. . . .

CNS News  " Muslim leaders, including Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), expressed the hope and expectation on Sunday that Muslim voters would be a deciding factor in the pivotal Senate runoff election in the state of Georgia early next month. The early voting period begins on Monday.

"Participating in an online “vote-a-thon” co-hosted by the Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and Georgia Muslim Voter Project, Tlaib said: "I hope that you realize just the opportunity here that Allah has given us to show the power of Muslims in Georgia.”

“ 'I want people to be like, oh my God, I didn’t even know Muslims are in Georgia,” she said. “Exactly! Because we’re going to show them in droves of numbers.”

“I want to, mash’allah [what Allah has willed] be able to say, ‘Look at the voting in these precincts and guess what? It was the Muslim vote that delivered Georgia,’ ” Tlaib said.

"Omar said Muslim voters in Georgia had played a big part in delivering the result on November 3 that necessitated the runoff, and voiced the hope that the same would apply on January 5.

“ 'I do hope that when the election is decided on January 5, and people are able to analyze who came out and voted, we will hear that the Muslims in Georgia were a big part of making the right decision in this historic election,” she said.

Conrad Black: The Trump haters cackle too soon

Conrad Black; National Post

The presumptive Biden administration is already shaking, while the president’s populist policies will endure no matter who is in the White House

"Contrary to the purring and preening in the American and Canadian media that a buffoonish Donald Trump despotism has been “repudiated” in a triumph of reform democracy, we are moving slowly toward the climax of another crisis of American democracy. Trump was elected in 2016 because he tapped into a profound discontent whose existence and extent were not remotely suspected by the American political establishment and media. Undetected, half the country thought that the United States was being incompetently managed by a bipartisan claque of permanent federal officeholders and financial and celebrity and academic elites, for their own benefit, indifferent to the welfare or opinions of middle America, and oblivious to the damage done by the 2008 economic calamity, disadvantageous trade agreements and immersion in fruitless Middle Eastern wars.

"A political death struggle has ensued between that formerly complacent elite and a populist mass of people presciently rallied by Trump, which agrees with his bluntly expressed views and policy prescriptions. The contest between these closely matched forces is straining the American political system." . . .

"And sure enough, one of the catchphrases of leftism, which has abandoned absolute truth in favor of post-modernism, is that something is “my truth” or “your truth” as opposed to the truth.  . . ."

Andrea Widburg   "One of the things conservatives know is that the media’s hatred for Trump and his supporters and their slavish devotion to the Democrat flavor of the month (whether it’s a Clinton, an Obama, a Biden, or a Harris) oozes out in everything they say or write. That’s why it’s fun to compare past and present articles that demonstrate the media’s willingness to shift principles to advance their biases. Rarely, though, do news outlets make their biases as palpable as NBC News recently did.

"Dan Bongino, one of my favorite conservatives, often points out that you won’t catch him being hypocritical by holding different people or political parties to different standards. He explains (and I’m quoting from memory here) that he’s not hypocritical because his principles and values are fixed, not dictated by political preferences. If he doesn’t like it when Politician A does it, he’s not going to like it when Politician B does it." . . .

. . . "And sure enough, one of the catchphrases of leftism, which has abandoned absolute truth in favor of post-modernism, is that something is “my truth” or “your truth” as opposed to the truth. And that gets us to the media, which has as its truth the need to advance the Democrat narrative at all costs while always making sure to insult and demean Trump and his supporters." . . .

"And there’s this head spinner from a British leftist:"

No Politician Is More Popular or Unpopular Than Trump

 Conrad Black

The last laugh could be the president’s. But even if it isn’t, his achievements in becoming president and as president vastly exceed those of his unimpressive enemies.

Mike Ramirez
"America is sleepwalking into the next chapter of its history. A president who has had one of the most successful first terms of any—surpassed only by Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, and Richard Nixon—is being replaced in a seriously tainted election by the most unimpressive person ever elected president, and one who has not, in fact, even campaigned for the office.

It remains a mystery as Donald Trump apparently enters his last 10 weeks as president, why 95 percent of the national political media detest him to the point of regularly inventing false and malicious news stories about him, though it presumably has something to do with his contempt for them and their failure to prevent his election.

Despite some plausible efforts to explain it, another mystery is why the very wealthy people of America prefer a traditional liberal Democrat standing on an outright socialist program to a tax-cutting fellow billionaire, and author of an immense non-inflationary economic boom. Thanks to them, the incumbent president has been outspent two to one by more or less socialistic candidates promising sharp tax increases, wealth redistribution, and socialized medicine.

Fifty-six percent of voters said they were better off now than they had been four years ago thanks to Trump. Yet he has been sent packing in favor of a completely unprepossessing, terribly tired, congressional political journeyman best known for plagiarizing from an unsuccessful British opposition party leader, assisting Teddy Kennedy in the character assassination of an outstanding Supreme Court nominee (Robert Bork), and subjecting another distinguished Supreme Court nominee (Clarence Thomas) to a disgraceful series of unsubstantiated allegations of lewd comments, in what Thomas described as “a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks,” and then apologizing 30 years later for that justice’s confirmation. . . .
