Victor Davis Hanson On Trump Raid: ‘The FBI is Beyond Redemption’

Victor Davis Hanson On Trump Raid: 'The FBI is Beyond Redemption' (VIDEO) (thegatewaypundit.com)

"The writer and historian Victor Davis Hanson is one of the most serious thinkers of our time. When he says something, people should listen.

"Following the raid on Trump’s Florida home, Hanson is saying that the FBI is beyond redemption. That it cannot and should not be saved in its current form.

"To hear Hanson saying this should alarm people. He is not the type of man who engages in outrageous talk. He means this, for real.

Victor Hanson: ‘We Don’t Have Rule of Law in Washington … FBI is Beyond Redemption’

When asked about the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s home in Palm Beach, Fla., professor, author, and political commentator Victor David Hanson said, “right now, we don’t have the rule of law in Washington,” and added that, “The FBI is beyond redemption.”

Hanson, who was awarded the National Humanities Medal by President George W. Bush, made his remarks on the Aug. 9 edition of FNC’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, guest-hosted by Will Cain.

Cain asked Hanson why the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago and why were they targeting Trump.

“Well, they’re afraid in the short term,” he said, in reference to the Democrats and the left, “but in the long term they believe they’re morally superior to America, and therefore any means necessary or justifiable for their morally superior ends.”…

An Elegy for the FBI - The American Spectator | USA News and Politics

The FBI Has Gotten So Bad Even the Most Restrained Pundit on the Right is Calling for It to Be 'Broken Up' (trendingpolitics.com)   "Victor Davis Hanson is often the avuncular and sobering voice of reason on the conservative right. But on Friday’s episode of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” guest-hosted by Will Cain, ‘VDH’ unleashed a clarion call on the FBI so passionate it may move you to tears.

“ 'At moments like this, why has what we’ve watched over the last 24 hours taken place?” Cain asked. “Why have they targeted Donald Trump?”

“ 'Well, they’re afraid in the short term, but in the long term, they believe they’re morally superior to America, and therefore, any means necessary or justifiable for their morally superior ends,” VDH said. “Right now, we don’t have the rule of law in Washington. Whether you’re targeted or exempt depends on your ideology. So in the past, when there was a dispute over the archives or presidential papers, Barack Obama just said, ‘I’m not going to turn them over, the freedom of information.’ He spent $30 million resisting efforts to do that. George Bush had an executive order and said,’ you know what, I’m not going to do this.’ And that was adjudicated. And now we go after a president, and go to his house with 30 agents. In the past when a high official was called for a congressional subpoena, Eric Holder just said, ‘I’m not going, and I’m not turning over any of this Fast and Furious.”

“ 'The idea that you would put him in shackles or you’d confront him with his family and grab his phone is just ridiculous,” he added. “But this is what we’re doing on ideological basis. And when you start to do that, you don’t have a democracy anymore. And I don’t think we do.' ”

'The FBI Raid On Melania's Closet Was Justified,' Says Merrick Garland Wearing Gorgeous New Evening Gown And Sun Hat

"With many Americans up in arms over the unprecedented raid of former President Trump's residence in Mar-a-Lago by the FBI, Attorney General Garland released a statement to assure everyone the raid was completely justified. Eyewitnesses noted he looked unusually fetching in an elegant Dolce & Gabbana evening gown and a Dior sun hat.
""We wouldn't raid Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate or Melania's wardrobe unless it was absolutely, 100% necessary," said Garland. "I resent any accusation that this raid was influenced by partisan politics or my insatiable desire to wear pretty designer dresses." The Attorney General then did a little spin in his purple gown as the press gasped with delight.
"FBI Director Christopher Wray echoed the statement as he strode up to the Hoover Building in a dazzling pair of diamond-encrusted Alexander McQueen stilettos. "The men and women of the FBI are paragons of unassailable integrity and impartiality, and any suggestion otherwise is murderous treason," he said. Several news outlets present also noted the delicious smell of Chanel No.5 in the air.
"At publishing time, Trump had taken to Truth Social to announce that all his golf clubs were also missing."

Conservatives Need to Reclaim History Instead of Repeating the Liberal Version -

The American Spectator | USA News and Politics

"Two recent op-ed articles in the Washington Times and their accompanying illustrations manifest a troubling habit of modern conservatives — all too often, they accept and help promote the conventional liberal version of history in a futile effort to lend respectability to their views. In doing so, some modern conservatives unwittingly cede the moral high ground to their philosophical opponents while simultaneously adding their imprimatur to conventional liberal historical “truths.”

"In the Aug. 9 issue of the Washington Times, D.C. lawyer Gerard Leval rightly warned against “the fervor of those who vociferously seek to purge anyone and anything which is not in keeping with the new morality.” Leval condemned the efforts of the philosophical Left to erase from history “many of the pillars of Western society.” He decried the “current intolerance” of those who would try to “purge our society of so much of our past.” It is, he explains, an example of modern-day “McCarthyism.”

"Indeed, most of Leval’s article is a mindless recitation of the conventional liberal view of Sen. Joe McCarthy, who he claims presided over “one of the worst episodes in [our] history.” McCarthy, he writes, was guilty of “wide-spread and unsubstantiated accusations” of communist infiltration into our government and society. “Cascading fear and a belief that America was being betrayed by domestic spies deeply embedded in our society,” he wrote, “accelerated the paranoia and hysteria.” He mentions that writers, actors, and others in Hollywood suffered from “employment termination, social ostracism and worse” at McCarthy’s hands — yet the Hollywood Ten appeared before the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947, not before the Senate Committee on which McCarthy served. And McCarthy’s investigations of domestic communism began three years later, in 1950.". . .

Is Biden finally taking Donald behind the gym? - American Thinker   "On October 21, 2016, when asked about then-candidate Donald Trump, then-Vice President Joe Biden said, “The press always ask me, don’t I wish I were debating him. No, I wish we were in high school; I could take him behind the gym.” Apparently, he prefers violence over debate. Those were the uniting words of the current occupant of the White House.

"With all the power of the federal government, the leftist news outlets, and the Democrat Party behind him, it appears Creepy Joe is finally ready to deliver on his unsettling promise. Was his raid on Trump’s home on August 8th his idea of keeping his promise, or was it just the first act of something far more sinister?". . .

Confirmed that they believe this, that is?

Trump Legal Team Believes FBI Informant Is Ex-Trump White House Staffer Who Relocated To Mar-a-Lago Post Presidency (radaronline.com)

Via Radar Online:

The Mar-a-Lago mole who was the FBI’s confidential source which led to the sensational raid on Donald Trump is a former administration staffer who had specific knowledge of his private residence and office setting.

That’s the view of people connected to the former president’s legal team who have concluded the informant is someone who briefly worked at Mar-a-Lago in the post-Trump presidency.

Ilhan Omar’s Career Almost Ended In Shocking Fashion This Week

 The Lid (lidblog.com)

"Earlier this week, as our insular media was focused on congressional legislation, the Mar-a-Lago raid, and other campaigns around the country, most overlooked what occurred in Minneapolis Tuesday night.

"Indeed the heavily-favored Ilhan Omar almost lost her primary race. The repugnant representative prevailed by fewer than 2,500 votes over a retired septuagenarian named Don Samuels.

"Because her district is hard left, Omar likely will still prevail during November’s general election, but is the template now out on how to beat the socialist in a future primary?

"Maybe Omar’s anti-Semitism no longer plays well in the most Jewish district in Minnesota, or maybe her anti-police bigotry no longer appeals to a high crime district that voted last year not to defund the police.

"Amid low voter turnout and disdain toward her noxious beliefs, Omar amassed only 50.3% of the overall vote and also barely totaled half of her vote total from two years ago.". . .

This Should Bring The Whole Case Down - The Feds Involved In The Trump Raid Allegedly Have Been Under Investigation By Durham For Abuse Of Power

This Should Bring The Whole Case Down - The Feds Involved In The Trump Raid Allegedly Have Been Under Investigation By Durham For Abuse Of Power (defiantamerica.com)   "Kash Patel, a former Federal Prosecutor and Department of Defense official under former President Donald Trump, has revealed a key flaw in the Biden Department of Justice’s claims following the FBI raid on Trump’s estate at Mar-a-Lago.

Patel explained that reports of classified materials found at the Palm Beach property aremisleading because the documents were already declassified.

“Trump declassified whole sets of materials in anticipation of leaving government that he thought the American public should have the right to read themselves,”

"But it seems that team Trump has more information!

"The left was coming after President Donald Trump, daring him to release the warrant regarding the FBI raid on his home.

"Trump isn’t blinking. He’s not acting like someone who thinks he has a lot to fear from this. He announced he was all for releasing the warrant, and he now he’s commented on how the raid was completely unnecessary. He had been in talks with the National Archives for a while and had already turned over several boxes of documents in June. So that’s why the raid isn’t making logical sense.". . .

It Wasn't Us! White House In Panic Mode As Mar-a-Lago Raid Quickly Backfires -

Analyzing America    "The FBI raid on President Donald Trump’s private home is quickly backfiring as many Americans have condemned Joe Biden and the corrupt Department of Justice.

"Meanwhile, Trump is also shattering fundraising records as the blowback continues.

"The White House is now in panic mode and is denying any responsibility. They are also claiming the Biden is oblivious that he was never even informed about the FBI raid on the private home of a former president.". . .

CNN admits Hunter Biden ‘a real problem’ for Joe Biden, not ‘a right-wing media story’

Then Stelter added: “What about his son, what about Hunter? Hunter under federal investigation, charges could be coming at any time. This is not just a right-wing media story. This is a real problem for the Bidens. Could he decide not to run for re-election, given his son?”   Just The News

CNN's Brian Stelter flip-flops on Hunter Biden story (nypost.com)   "Looks like CNN’s Brian Stelter got the memo from the network’s new owners about discussing ‘facts’ — even when it relates to the once-taboo subject of Hunter Biden.

"The “Reliable Sources” host did a major 180 about the scandal-scarred son of President Joe Biden, and the federal investigation related to emails found on Hunter’s laptop, during his show on Sunday.

"Hunter Biden may face charges as the federal criminal investigation continues into possible tax fraud, money laundering and foreign lobbying crimes linked to his overseas business deals.

"Stelter — who had called the Hunter Biden leaked laptop a “classic example of the right-wing media machine” — broached the subject in an interview with Michael LaRosa, the former press secretary for First Lady Jill Biden.

“ 'What about his son?” Stelter asked his guest. “What about Hunter? Hunter under federal investigation, charges can be coming at any time, this is not just a right-wing media story. This is a real problem for the Bidens.” . . .

The Tragic Irony of the Rushdie Stabbing at Chautauqua

The Tragic Irony of the Rushdie Stabbing at Chautauqua - American Thinker

. . ."I set the climatic scene of 2006 at the institution itself. The book tells the tale of a grassroots “rising” that anticipated the Tea Party insurgency of 2009-10 and the MAGA movement of more recent years. When I wrote the book I was unaware that a quiet insurrection was brewing on the institution grounds. A group known as Chautauqua Christian Fellowship (CCF) had emerged to correct the Institution’s political and theological leftward drift.

"The same year that my novel was published, 2000, the institution accelerated that drift by selecting the Rev. Joan Brown Campbell to be its director of religion. A longtime apologist for Fidel Castro, Campbell had made news the year before her appointment by orchestrating the forced return of Elian Gonzalez to Communist Cuba. At the time of Campbell’s retirement in 2013, one of her woke acolytes toasted Campbell, saying, “When Janet Reno is looking for someone really tough to get on the [Elian] case you have some sense of whom we are dealing with here. Don't Mess With Joan.' ”. . .

“If Salman Rushdie can be attacked by Islamic extremists in the West, ANY CRITIC OF ISLAM can be” (barenakedislam.com)

Iran finally gets Salman Rushdie's blood - American Thinker  . . .Andrew Wylie, Rushdie's literary agent, later stated how grievously wounded Rushdie had been: "The news is not good.  Salman will likely lose one eye; the nerves in his arm were severed; and his liver was stabbed and damaged."  Injury to Rushdie's liver alone explains all the blood.  The liver is like a giant sponge and, when lacerated, bleeds profusely, with the flow difficult to stanch.

"What happened to Rushdie is appalling, but it's to be expected when a totalitarian power encourages fanatics to police any ideas that threaten that power.  We're not there yet in America, but we are drifting closer.  For example, after the Supreme Court returned the question of abortion to the states, various leftists threatened to kill Supreme Court justices — and the Democrat party, from Biden on down, refused to criticize these statements.  That tacit approval ended with a deranged so-called "transgender" man allegedly planning to murder three conservative justices, starting with Brett Kavanaugh.". . .

Liz Cheney down 28 points against Trump-backed challenger, even with help from Democrats

Just The News    "Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney trails her Trump-backed challenger by nearly 30 points in a recent poll, even including likely Democratic crossover voters.

"Cheney, one of ten Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump, lost her position as chair of the House Republican Conference over the vote and went on to participate in the Democrat-led committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot.

"The University of Wyoming’s Wyoming Survey and Analysis Center conducted the poll, which revealed that Cheney enjoyed the support of 28% of likely voters in the Republican primary, set to take place on Tuesday, Aug. 16. Her Trump-endorsed opponent, Harriet Hageman, meanwhile, took 57% of the vote.

"Those figures include both independents and Democrats who identified themselves as likely voters in the Republican primary. Of those polled, roughly 8% of respondents identified as Democrats who planned to vote in the GOP race, while a further 21% were independents.

"Cheney maintained a narrow 43%-41% lead among the latter group over Hageman, and received an overwhelming 98% of Democratic support, though their minimal presence suggests the crossover aid will not be enough to carry the day for her. Only 15% of Republicans in Wyoming plan to back Cheney.

“ 'There has been much talk in the media about Democrats crossing over and voting in the Republican primary; this group is not especially large,” said UW political science Prof. Jim King.

"Cheney launched her cross party appeal in late June, posting information on her campaign site explaining how to change parties and vote in the primary."
