Vote for change, public safety and economic hope — The Post endorses Lee Zeldin for governor

‘Don’t know why that’s so important’: Hochul baffled when Zeldin talks jailing criminals during NY gov debate

NY Post  "As early voting begins Saturday, New Yorkers have a critical chance to save their state — by casting their vote for REP. LEE ZELDIN, The Post’s choice for governor, and sending “Status Quo” Kathy Hochul packing.

"We have suffered too long from:

Disastrous, inherently corrupt one-party rule.No-bail and other lunatic, revolving-door criminal-justice reforms. Violence on the subways and in the streets.A ludicrous energy policy that’s sent utility bills soaring, slamming consumers and strangling jobs. Highest-in-the-nation taxes, failing-but-expensive public schools and crushing, job-killing business regulations

"Zeldin can make a huge difference.

"First, he’s vowed to remove Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for refusing to do his job, picking and choosing the laws he deems worth enforcing.

"Crime is out of control. As of Sunday, it’s up overall 30% from last year in the city. Transit crime’s up 42%; the past two years have seen as many transit murders (24) as during the previous 13 combined.". . .

Never has the radical left had such a valuable tool as Biden

Video: Following His Falsehood-Fill Speech Biden Suffered Even Bigger Embarrassment By His Own Handlers – Ignored By The MSM

"Joe Biden can’t tell the truth. This is nothing new though, he’s always been this way. He could get away with these lies before the Internet and social media were a thing. If Joe told a lie back in 1992, someone would have to go to the library and use the microfiche to try and find an article to debunk what he said, and then what would they do with it? Call a few friends and tell them? This is why Joe is so used to lying and why he did it for so much of his career.". . .
"I can't believe you said that, Joe!"

Detransitioned teen bashes Biden on ‘gender-affirming’ care: ‘He’s advocating child experimentation’   . . ."President Biden recently expressed support for “gender affirming” medical treatment for transgender minors, which pressures medical professionals to affirm and not question a child’s gender identity. But 18-year-old Chloe Cole, who was born female and transitioned to male as a young teen before “detransitioning,” thinks Biden’s stance could lead more young people down the road toward irreversible medical treatments.". . .

New ad blasting Biden over immigration airs during World Series: ‘No mas’  . . .“Our cities are a mess. Public services are a nightmare. But instead of helping us, Joe Biden has sent $66 billion to Ukraine. Weapons worth billions more. And now, Joe Biden says his fight in Ukraine could lead to nuclear Armageddon. World War III.  “You know what I say? No mas,“ the ad concludes. "

Hundreds of leftists sign letter demanding that publisher CANCEL Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s book deal

BPR  "In more proof that inside every liberal, there is a fascist screaming to get out, hundreds of left-wing members of the literary community have signed onto a letter demanding that a publisher cancel its book deal with conservative Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

"The open letter which has been signed by nearly 500 people is calling for Barrett’s $2 million agreement with Penguin Random House to publish her upcoming memoir to be torn up as resentment over the overturning of the abortion rights landmark ruling Roe v. Wade continues to fester with an American left that has increasingly come to resemble the totalitarian communists of the old Soviet Union.

"Beginning with the ludicrous claim that “we care deeply about freedom of speech,” the letter goes on to browbeat the publisher into denying Coney Barrett the right to exercise her own right to free speech by couching their argument to rescind the deal on the premise that her vote in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization represents a violation of parent company Bertelsmann’s Code of Conduct.

" 'We recognize that harm is done to a democracy not only in the form of censorship, but also in the form of assault on inalienable human rights. As such, we are calling on Penguin Random House to recognize its own history and corporate responsibility commitments by reevaluating its decision to move forward with publishing Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s forthcoming book,” according to the letter.". . .

Barrett's previous book:

Astonishing call for censorship of Justice Amy Coney Barrett by publishing industry figures

Even as they claim to oppose censorship, a group of almost 500 people (as of the moment) from the literary world — best-selling authors, publishing industry employees, and others — have signed on to a call for Penguin Random House to drop a forthcoming book by Justice Amy Coney Barrett.  Her crime?  Signing on to the majority opinion in the Dobbs case, overturning Roe v. Wade, and returning abortion  to the states.

You can read the letter and the complete list of signatories, posted to Google Documents, here.  It begins: Read more here.

". . .So they are saying that getting a book suppressed is not "censorship" because Justice Barrett could stand on a street corner and read her manuscript aloud?

"You might wish to scan the list of authors.  Lee Child, writer of thrillers including the Jack Reacher series, is one of them.  I won't be buying any more of his works.

"I hope that Penguin Random House will stand up to these censorship advocates and go ahead with publication.  It is a subsidiary of Germany's giant Bertlesmann Group.  It might be awkward to be sued by a Supreme Court justice for violating their contract with her."

Kari Lake’s Former TV Station Declares Lake’s Opponent Winner 2 Weeks Before Election

"The television station that used to employ Arizona Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake on Oct. 27 called the race for Lake’s opponent, despite the fact the election won’t be held until November.
"A graphic displayed by Fox 10, the TV station, said that Katie Hobbs, the Democrat nominee, won the election with 53 percent of the vote.
"The graphic was shown during a newscast at about 5:50 p.m. local time.
"Fox 10 acknowledged airing the graphic, blaming what happened on a test gone wrong.
"The graphic showed “test results for the upcoming election,” the broadcaster said. “These were generated by the Associated Press which distributes results to clients.”
“ 'This graphic was never meant to go on air—the numbers were only part of a test. The station has taken steps to make sure this cannot happen again,” it added.
"Lake said the graphic may have been a retaliatory move because it happened shortly after she held a press conference urging reporters to do their due diligence to check claims by Arizona Democrats that a person who broke into Hobbs’ campaign office was linked to Lake.". . .

It takes a certain kind of Democrat to make questions from ABC’s “Good Morning America” look tough — and unfortunately for Arizona, Katie Hobbs is one of them.

Monty Python Star John Cleese Blasts Wokeness for Being The Death of Creativity

The Lid

This Creativity’ Is No More! It Has Ceased To Be. It’s Expired And Gone To Meet 'Is Maker! (Apologies To The Dead Parrot )

"Monty Python star John Cleese is once again blasting the woke left for destroying comedy. The Fawlty Towers creator was a keynote speaker at last week’s FreedomFest conference in Las Vegas, where he slammed the left for being the death of creativity.

"Now, don’t take this to mean that Cleese is a conservative. He is absolutely not a traditional, American conservative. He hated George Bush, and he hated Trump.

"However, he is also not a mind-numbed leftist like most Hollywierders are. Like other famed Brit comedians, including Ricky Gervais, Rowan Atkinson, and Russell Brand, Cleese sees clearly how the left has become the fascist side of the political aisle by trying to end free speech in favor of left-wing speech codes.". . .

. . .“ 'It wasn’t like this when I first got to America,” Cleese said. “When I first got to America in the 60s… two things happened. First of all, I very much admired the cross-the-aisle friendships and thought we don’t have that in England. We have real battles between the Tories and the Labour, but in America, there seems to be these- and this was destroyed by Newt Gingrich, quite deliberately, for purposes of power. I think that’s a tragedy.”

"Coming from a liberal, it is amusing to see Cleese so badly misunderstanding that the only way there was any comity between the Dems and the GOP in the 1990s when Newt Gingrich came to power was when the GOP gave up all its principles and bowed to the Democrats. That is why there WAS a Newt Gingrich in the first place.

"So, as you can see, Cleese is not one of us in politics. But he is an ally when it comes to free speech.". . .

Would Cleese's Hitler and silly walker have offended the left?

The Left Bases Its Politics on the Toilet

. . .Years ago, the British journalist Peregrine Worsthorne claimed communism was not the most poisonous form of politics. Nor was Nazism nor fascism the most poisonous form of politics. The most poisonous form of politics, in his opinion, was liberalism. . .

Bob Tyrrell:  "Let us consider those angry Americans who make an issue over which public toilet they will use — and, for that matter, which locker room and personal pronoun they prefer, etc., etc.

"These Americans do not believe that their choice of toilet should be a matter of personal hygiene. Rather, they see it as a constitutional matter that ought to be brought before the Supreme Court. It probably will be if Joe Biden is reelected.

"Throughout history, Lebensraum of one sort or another has been the stuff of politics, as Vladimir Putin sought to make Lebensraum the stuff of politics back in February of this year, much to his regret.". . .

Yet, only in America could the left become sufficiently infantile as to base its politics on the toilet. Vladimir Lenin in World War I chose the hammer and sickle as the symbol of the Communist Party, and millions of people died for it. Today, the American left has chosen as its symbol a solitary toilet, possibly a toilet on a hill. Flushing their toilet emphatically will now become a revolutionary act. (Emphasis mine, TD)

Biden: Going, Going, Gone

Warning; Article contains the phrase used by talk show guests, "As I predicted in my new book". . . TD

Dick Morris  "On every side we see evidence that Biden is preparing for something between a graceful exit and a swift kick in the butt.

"Asked if his age is a legitimate issue, he said “It is a legitimate concern to be concerned about anyone's age, including mine…if I'm too old, eighty-six me.” (For the benefit of those of us who are under the age of 80, “86 me” is a reference to the era of prohibition when patrons at a Wall Street bar, told the cops were approaching, were advised to leave through a back door that opened onto the address 86 Bedford Street).

"As the midterm debacle approaches, Democrats of all stripes are realizing what a mistake Joe Biden has been. They won't throw him out via the 25th amendment — which he richly deserves — because they are scared that their even bigger mistake — Kamala Harris — will become president.

"As I predicted in my new book, The Return: Trumps Big 2024 Comeback, Biden's days are numbered, now in single digits. The Democrats cannot possibly go into another election with him at the top of the ticket.

"The call for him to step down will arise, like Halloween ghosts, from the graves of 60 to 80 Democrats who will lose their seats in the House and Senate in the midterm debacle.

"Such a move by Biden will, of course, spell the effective end of his presidency. While not subject to removal by the 25th amendment, we will see the spectacle of a U.S. president twisting slowly in the wind for two years as the lamest of ducks.

"We can only hope that Putin does not choose this time to use nuclear weapons. The spectacle of one president who is senile and the other who is desperate could spell disaster for the world.". . .

Is Fetterman’s stroke a legitimate issue? (MSNBC update)

Assuming that the signs did in fact point to Parkinson’s Disease, her election would have put a person with severely impaired logic processing behind the Resolute Desk. That was a cost that America could ill afford. FDR, on the other hand, merely had difficulty with movement. His mind, to all accounts, was fully intact. And this is why we must look at John Fetterman. He has had a significant stroke.

Is Fetterman’s stroke a legitimate issue?  . . ." In plain English, he has trouble “hearing” language and difficulty speaking. The debate with Dr. Oz made this painfully clear. Even with a teleprompter to allow him to read what was being said, he fumbled badly.

"Let’s make one thing clear. I’m not talking about the usual Democrat difficulty with “getting their message out.” Every Democrat has that impairment because the Democrats don’t have a message worth presenting. This is an irrecoverable physical injury to parts of the brain that are essential to language skills.

"A senator must have fluent language skills. If I tried to be a government official in Greece, I’d fail badly because it would all be Greek to me. (Even though I’ve studied biblical Greek.) That’s what Fetterman is facing. Every conversation, every piece of legislation, and every confrontation would be unintelligible gibberish. He would be utterly incapable of doing any of the essential tasks that fall to a senator. Gisele Fetterman, an unelected illegal alien immigrant (now citizen), would functionally be another Edith Wilson, making all the decisions. That cannot be permitted.

"Pundits who argue that a candidate’s health is off-limits forget this. Some health problems are merely physical. Others have major mental impacts, and as I noted in my Hillary videos, we can’t afford public officials who are mentally impaired.

"Just in case you haven’t noticed, just look at Joe Biden. We are all praying that America survives his incapacity."

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell lays it on THICK for Fetterman, compares him to Winston Churchill
  . . .
Fetterman’s performance was a nightmare scenario for the party and the corrupt, partisan media is pulling out all stops to spin the debacle with the narrative now being pushed that the hulking lieutenant governor’s inability to form coherent thoughts and sentences despite having a closed captioning system provided to him was a heroic effort due to his being a stroke survivor, a triumph over his disability comparable to some of western civilization’s most towering historic figures.
"MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell likened Fetterman to British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, laying it on thick with the sort of WWII rhetoric that makes gullible leftists with little real knowledge of history swoon.". . .

What's next after the Fetterman disaster?

Byron York  "WHAT'S NEXT AFTER THE FETTERMAN DISASTER? Early voting is well underway in Pennsylvania. Indeed, one reason Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman, recovering from a serious stroke, wanted to delay his debate with Republican Mehmet Oz was to bank as many early votes as possible before debate night. Given Fetterman's disastrous performance in the debate, it was a good idea. And it worked. According to the Election Project, which compiles early voting figures from around the country, 685,289 Pennsylvanians cast their ballots before the debate. Of those, 499,396 were registered Democrats. The Fetterman campaign wanted to get its team to the polls before what was likely to be a discouraging debate.

The debate turned out to be, as many observed, painful to watch. Fetterman's recovery from his May stroke has clearly not progressed to the point where he can successfully take part in a traditional debate — that is, in one of the traditional events of a campaign. The day before the debate, his campaign team sent a memo to reporters to prepare them for "awkward pauses, missing some words, and mushing other words together" when Fetterman took the stage. The idea was to lower expectations and not have the press express surprise when Fetterman had difficulty communicating.

But it was much worse than that. At times, Fetterman struggled to make even a simple point. To cite one example: The struggle was particularly apparent when he tried to execute a classic politician's flip-flop on fracking. The technique of fracking is hugely important to the oil and gas industry in Pennsylvania, which means it is hugely important to Pennsylvania as a whole. But the debate moderators pointed out that in May 2018, not all that long ago, Fetterman said, "I don't support fracking. I never have.". . .

THE VIEW HOSTS ACCUSE DR. OZ OF BULLYING STROKE VICTIM JOHN FETTERMAN

Hemingway: Fetterman’s Wife And Handlers Should Be Ashamed Of What They’re Doing To Him  “I am actually appalled at the people around Fetterman that they did not protect him or love him more. He has family members. If this had happened to me, I would pray that the people around me would love me enough to not put me through this. This is very bad for them, for the Democrat Party, and it’s an embarrassment to the people of Pennsylvania. They deserve far better than this,” Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway said on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle.”

‘Ableism’ Rears Its Head in Pennsylvania – Lincoln Institute   "John Fetterman obviously is not cognitively fit for the U.S. Senate."

The screwy little definition box that pops up via Google informs the world, “ableism: discrimination in favor of able-bodied people.” But any good progressive will tell you that that doesn’t go far enough. No, it never does.

. . ."Leave it to a liberal, however, to turn such obvious observations — universally coming from the Right and the Left — into a form of bigotry. To wit, Liz Plank of MSNBC remonstrated, “[W]hen your side is so bad you have to rely on ableism to win.”

"That was the sum Twitter total of what Plank wrote. She seemed to imply that Republicans must rely on “ableism” to win this Senate seat. It’s a strange statement. After all, the Republican nominee is perfectly able, whereas the Democratic nominee is clearly not able. Fetterman’s obvious inability should not constitute “ableism” on the part of Republicans.". . .

NHS Warning: Many "Trans" Kids Merely Going Through A "Phase"

Zero Hedge  via Revolver    . . ."A variety of people have long warned that many or most of these children are simply going through a phase -- encouraged by a woke-hijacked society gone mad -- and that doctors and parents shouldn't be so quick to plunge into name changes, restroom changes, hormone treatments and surgeries.

"People warning about the trend have been vilified as intolerant bigots. Now, however, the UK's NHS is putting forth very much the same cautions. As with those whose once-taboo stances against vaccine mandates and lockdowns have now been vindicated, those who've been right all along about the gender-transition mania shouldn't expect any apologies."

“Gentle Giant” — The Hot New Media Term for Violent Criminal

Revolver  . . ."Floyd’s family may have cared about him so little they abandoned his personal possessions after his death, but now they are very concerned about the George Floyd myth, or at least they money they can make by defending it.

"And the George Floyd myth, as it is repeated over and over and over, takes a very specific form: Last summer, the Ad Council put out an ad centered on a phrase you have probably head before. Maybe you’ve heard it twice. Or ten times. Or a hundred.". . .

. . ."Well, you probably did expect it, actually. Most people have been convinced by the media’s portrayal of Floyd that he was big and benign; humongous and harmless; towering and tame. Well, except for that time he broke into a woman’s home and pointed a gun at her stomach while his friends looked for stuff to rob. Or that time he committed armed robbery in Houston". . .

AZ Poll: GOP’s Kari Lake Blows Governor’s Race Wide Open, Leads Hobbs by 11  "Republican Kari Lake has taken a commanding double-digit lead in Arizona’s gubernatorial race, while GOP candidate Blake Masters is neck and neck with Sen. Even one from Al Sharpton! ‘Latte Liberals’: Al Sharpton Rips Democrats For Ignoring Voters’ Concerns With Crime   . . ." 'Whenever the issue of crime comes up, as Jim said, sometimes Democratic candidates worry too much about what their base says, and you will have ‘woke’ people saying, oh, if you’re talking about crime, well, my gosh, you’re racist,” Scarborough said Wednesday. “Or there’s a racial component every time a politician talks about crime. Rev, you’ve been saying all along that’s not the case. You’ve been saying that when you go and talk to people, crime’s at the top of their list of things that they’re concerned about.”

"To which Cruz calls out the obvious by replying, “Did I miss an entire year of Antifa riots where cities across this country were burning.”

"It’s so ridiculous how the Dems will play up the idea that Republicans are trying to actively destroy the country while, apparently, employing cognitive dissonance and forgetting what the radical left did to so many cities across the country in 2020.". . .
