Now THIS is gaslighting!

Why Biden 2024 ties some Democrats in knots - POLITICO  "Things are going pretty damn well for President Joe Biden on Capitol Hill. Except for one thing.

"Even as Biden’s domestic agenda accelerates at surprising speed for an election year — climate, health care and taxes may follow veterans and manufacturing through Congress this summer — within his own party there’s been a slight but unmistakable political drift away from him ahead of the midterms.". . .

James Clyburn Says Biden Is ‘Exactly What We Need’ | The Daily Caller  . . .“We are a great country. We are good people and people voted to maintain both their goodness and their greatness. I think Joe Biden is exactly what we needed. Back 10 years ago I said that. I said, ‘We know Joe, but most importantly Joe knows us,’ and I think he’s what we need for 2024 as well.”. . .

Consider the utter contempt Democrats have toward Americans, to tell us things are glowing when we see prices rising, hordes of border-crossers daily, and when we see our laughing enemies bully us as a third-world country. I believe informed Democrats don't hold Biden in any regard, but they support those who control  him and whose policies Joe only needs to sign off on.   TD

Evening News Spends ONLY 11 Seconds on Warnock Child Support Scandal

MRC    "The double-standard is atrocious. The Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) evening newscasts have almost completely buried Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock’s child support scandal, spending only 11 seconds on it since September 1.. . .

. . ."In stark contrast, the network evening newscasts (September 1 - November 16) flooded their airwaves (36 minutes, 21 seconds) with stories of women accusing his GOP opponent Herschel Walker of paying for abortions. That’s almost 200 times more coverage to the Walker story than the Warnock scandal.
"On Tuesday, Warnock’s ex-wife Oulèye Ndoye requested that a court compel the Georgia Senator to face questioning over child custody. Ndoye has also accused Warnock of failing to properly pay child care expenses. Despite the issue being brought up in the October 14 Walker-Warnock debate the evening newscasts mostly looked the other way. ". . .

Adam Schiff Has an Incredible Change of Heart on Congressional Investigations

That respect for the rule of law has suddenly disappeared, and we all know why. Because Schiff is a ridiculous hack who had no business ever being near power.

RedState  "The tables have turned in the House of Representatives, and now, the hunters will become the prey. After years of Democrat partisans “investigating” Republicans for any manner of nonsense, the Biden administration and its cohorts in Congress will finally face some real pressure, albeit limited.

"That reality led to a very interesting exchange on CNN on Sunday morning. Rep. Adam Schiff, who has spent his entire tenure blabbing on cable news, promoting one made-up “scandal” after another, was asked whether he would comply with a Republican House subpoena. His answer was as brazen as it was unsurprising.

"It’s enough to make you want to go beat your head against a brick wall. Schiff has spent years treating subpoenas as religious rites, unquestionable and all-powerful. Now, the moment he may face one, he has decided that a judgment on the “validity” of the subpoena is in order, whatever that means. I guess Schiff believes he gets to decide that, though, I’m pretty sure that’s not how the law works.

"Of course, Dana Bash, the CNN propagandist interviewing him offered no pushback because why would she? After all, this is the same network that had anchors crying on election night in 2016 after finding out Donald Trump had won. You can’t expect one of their anchors to actually offer a fair and balanced take.

"What makes this all the more hypocritical is that Schiff helped take down Steve Bannon on “contempt of Congress” charges in the months prior. In fact, the California congressman was so hyped up that he put out a video on his website bragging about his role in the process. In it, while speaking with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow (because who else?), Schiff called Bannon’s indictment for ignoring the House subpoena a “powerful message.”

Democrats and their leaders of 2022

If You Have Not Been Taught to Think for Yourself, Then Disinformation is Scary  "CTH* has encountered criticism for our position on information.  Perhaps it is important to step back and explain exactly why we should not be playing by rules established to control us while engaged in the battle of ideas.  First, my position:

…”There is no such thing as “disinformation” or “misinformation”.  There is only information you accept and information you do not accept.  You were not born with a requirement to believe everything you are told; rather, you were born with a brain that allows you to process the information you receive and make independent decisions.”…

"There are only two elements within the public discussion of information, truth and not truth.

"In an era filled with “fact-checkers” and institutional guardians at the gates of Big Tech, let me explain exactly why it is important not to accept the speech rules of the guards.

"When you accept the terms “disinformation”, “misinformation” or the newest lingo, “malinformation,” you are beginning to categorize truth and lies in various shades.  You are merging black and white, right and wrong, into various shades of grey." . . .  *Conservative Treehouse

 What to do with Biden?

Should Mr. Biden stay on track to seek re-election, "awkward" doesn't come close to describing the scurrying behind the scenes that will ensue among the other wannabes.  The palpable lack of talent among those on the Democrat bench further adds to the confusion.  Beto?  Kamala?  Hair Gel?  Really?  Yet there's always the possibility of a "dark horse" trotting into the spotlight.  After all, Hillary is tan and rested.  Just don't hold your breath (and your little dog, too).

Dem Rep. Jackson Lee: Words ‘Can Actually Break Your Bones’   "Saturday, during an appearance on MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation,” Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) attacked House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the Republican nominee for House Speaker in the next Congress.". . .

Joe Biden's Senility Catches Karine Jean-Pierre in a Big Lie on Railroad Strike  "While it hasn’t received much press lately, one of the most important stories in the country remains the looming possibility of a railroad strike. It goes without saying that a shutdown of most of the nation’s ability to transport fuel and consumer goods would be a disaster for the American public.

Prior to the 2022 election, a tentative deal was reached that froze things in place. What a coincidence, right? Who could have guessed that Democrat-backed unions would take one for the team to ensure that the nation didn’t meltdown before voters went to the polls? Yet, heading into the Christmas season, things remain on a knife’s edge.

That’s left the White House scrambling, and it also happens to be the setup for one of the most blatant lies told by the Biden administration. When pressed on whether President Joe Biden was “directly” involved in negotiations between the unions and the rail companies, his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, insisted over and over that he was.

But as a new video put together by the RNC shows, that’s simply untrue. How do we know? Because Biden himself told us.

Rantz: Seattle Councilmembers are trying to defund the police again

"Despite a rise in crime, some on the City Council are trying to defund the Seattle Police Department again. Too bad it’s getting scant or disingenuous coverage.

"The council is currently debating Mayor Bruce Harrell’s budget. Anti-police councilmember Teresa Mosqueda, who once defended a man threatening to murder police, is looking to cut funds from the SPD permanently. She just doesn’t want you to realize it’s part of the defund movement.

"Harrell’s budget temporarily cuts $11 million dollars from the budget. The money would have been used to fill 200 open staff positions, but it was cut to fund only 120. The SPD is dangerously understaffed, so why would they cut the budget?

Joe, meanwhile, seems to have no idea of his failures of character:    Clyburn, though, is now trying to tell us Joe is something he's not. That's the disgusting part. Suddenly we are going to be hearing a lot about how great Joe is for the American people in a Hollywood-style buildup as Clyburn's minions seek to please him by imitating his praise. It's all fine and dandy for Democrats, but ... surely that will repel the voters.

Children Inside Nantucket Restaurant Take Selfies With Joe Biden Who’s Trapped Behind Sniff-Proof Glass …. And Here is How it Turned Out

Defiant America   Joe Biden is spending the long weekend in a $22 million house on Nantucket owned by a billionaire who doesn’t pay his fair share of taxes.

"Joe and Jill Biden went shopping in Nantucket for Small Business Saturday.

"Biden didn’t actually buy anything. He just blocked the streets with his security detail and shuffled around Main Street.

"Social media users roasted Joe Biden over “creepy” selfies with kids where the president is seen lurking in the background of children’s selfies with his face up against a window.". . .

Biden: The big buildup begins

This man was the choice of the American people? What does that say about us as a nation?

Monica Showalter "In Hollywood, they call it the 'big buildup' -- the public relations offensive to make some dumpling in the lineup of lookalikes into a star.

"We see it now in Hollywood-for-Ugly-People, Washington, D.C.

"Latest from this side is from James Clyburn, the kingmaker of Democrats, as AT Editor in Chief Thomas Lifson noted here today, the man who swatted away a slew of candidates vying for the Democrat nomination in 2020 and made the main man Joe Biden, for a Super Tuesday blowout.

"According to Breitbart News, citing a Bloomberg report:

On Wednesday’s broadcast of Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power,” House Majority Leader Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) said that “people love Joe Biden’s approach and they are in love with his agenda.” But his ratings are low
because even though people are “very pleased” “when they look at their bank accounts, they look at what’s happening with their families and in their communities,” that doesn’t show up in polls, and Biden will be like President Truman who did things that “were unpopular at the time, but over time, have proven to be exactly what the country needed.”

Clyburn stated, “I want to see him run again. I told him that. But that decision is up to him and his family. I think that if he learned anything in this election this November, it is this, that people love Joe Biden’s approach and they are in love with his agenda. That’s why we were able to defy all odds and do what we were able to do in defying conventional wisdom.”

"He gets worse:. . ."

. . ."Saying Joe Biden has substance is like saying a toilet that doesn't flush is still a working toilet. Joe Biden has no substance, he's an empty shell of a man, a creature who has changed his beliefs the way normal people change their underwear, a puppet for the billionaire class and its radical left-wing allies, as well as teachers' unions, united in their elitist desire to keep the little guy down. Clyburn claims he's trying new things, but well, he's trying things that don't work, such as turning up the money presses. That's not innovation, that's idiocy.". . .

Be Grateful for Capitalism This Thanksgiving

 Reason

A Venezuelan in America: Why I’m Grateful for Capitalism This Thanksgiving  "Millions of Americans will walk into their local supermarket this week to prepare for Thanksgiving dinner. With no government-regulated grocers or price gouging driven by black markets, they will walk out with the turkey of their choosing — without waiting hours in line only to find there is no more food or spending a fortune for the few items still left on shelves.". . .

A Black White Supremacist — No, Really

Civis Americanus  "Comedian Dave Chappelle recently received a lot of heat for an act in which he said, among other things, "If they're black, it's a gang.  If they're Italian, it's a mob.  But if they're Jewish, it's a coincidence, and you should never speak about it."  I don't regard this as anti-Semitic, or for that matter racist or anti-Italian, because he is clearly mocking all racial stereotypes as opposed to promoting them.  To this he added, "I've been to Hollywood ... it's a lot of Jews.  Like, a lot.  But that doesn't mean anything.  There's a lot of black people in Ferguson, Missouri.  Doesn't mean they run the place."  This again comes across to me as ridiculing the stereotypes in question, and I am by the way of Jewish identity.

"Comedians, like court jesters who often had license to criticize their monarchs in public because everything they said could be taken as a joke, have some leeway with regard to ethnic and racial humor because none of it is meant to be taken seriously.  Monty Python makes fun of almost everybody, and Mel Brooks's comedies are full of humor about Jews, Catholics, and others.  Archie Bunker, meanwhile, discovered that his longtime friend Stretch Cunningham was a Jew when he attended the latter's funeral.  Chappelle also made a short video about Clayton Bigsby, the black white supremacist who was born blind and never realized that he was black.  When he discovered his identity, he divorced his Caucasian wife of nineteen years for being a Negro-lover ("Negro" was not exactly the word he used).

"Our society needs to understand the difference between humor that is clearly not meant to be taken seriously and racist or anti-Semitic commentary from white supremacists, Al Sharpton and his National Action Network, and Black Lives Matter spokespeople, who mean every word they say. ". . .

Civis Americanus is the pen name of a contributor who remembers the lessons of history and wants to ensure that our country never needs to learn those lessons again the hard way.  The author is remaining anonymous due to the likely prospect of being subjected to "cancel culture" for exposing the Big Lie behind Black Lives Matter.

Former Hallmark Actress Refuses to Back Down Amid ‘Woke’ Leftists in the Film Industry

Analyzing America "Actress Candace Cameron Bure has left The Hallmark Channel and joined a new network with “more meaning and purpose and depth.”

"Bure appeared in Hallmark films for more than a dozen years and 30 movies, especially in Christmas-themed movies.". . .

"From Hallmark, Bure, 46, moved to a new network founded by Bill Abbott, the former president and CEO of Crown Media, the parent company of Hallmark. According to Bure, this new network, Great American Family (formerly named Great American Country), will compete with Hallmark for audiences looking for more traditional, family-oriented content.

“ 'GAC fits my brand perfectly,” Bure stated at the time. “We share a vision of creating compelling, wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family. Great, quality entertainment with a positive message is what my partnership with GAC is all about.”

“ 'My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them,” Bure added.

"Now with the holidays fast approaching and a “Great American Christmas” series set to rival Hallmark’s annual “Countdown to Christmas” programming, Bure has hinted that, unlike Hallmark, GAF will present basic Christian teaching, including marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman.". . .

Peter Billingsley, among other original cast members, will reprise their roles in ‘A Christmas Story Christmas’

'A Christmas Story Christmas' Star Peter Billingsley Has Been Busy Since the Original (cheatsheet.com)

"When it comes to classic holiday movies, one of the most popular modern classics is A Christmas Story. The movie, about a young boy that yearns after a BB gun for Christmas, stars Peter Billingsley as Ralphie Parker.". . .

. . ."Once he became popular for A Christmas Story, he has guest roles on hit shows such as Who’s The Boss?Highway to Heaven, and Punky Brewster. He also had roles in films such as The Dirt Bike KidRusskies, and Arcade. Eventually, Billingsley shifted his career from in front of the camera to behind the camera.

"Today he is a notable director and producer, having directed Couples Retreat and the short-lived series Sullivan & Son. He has more than 25 producer credits to his name, including animated shows, movies, and documentaries. And he didn’t give up his acting career entirely—if you look closely, you may be able to see his cameo in the Will Ferrell holiday film Elf."

TD bought this chocolatey treat for the family one Christmas; it did not go over well:

Dear Men: Don’t Dress Like Sam Bankman-Fried

The Scotfree | Dear Men: Don’t Dress Like Sam Bankman-Fried

Dressing up is a sign of respect to others, not just to yourself.

"It’s utterly astonishing that so many otherwise intelligent people got taken in by Sam Bankman-Fried, the now disgraced former head of crypto exchange FTX who is still nonetheless invited to speak at a New York Times seminar that costs $2,400 to attend. Part of his supposed appeal was his slovenly dress: t-shirts, cargo shorts, white socks, and sneakers.

"How the heck did it come to this? It’s been this way for about a decade and a half. Mark Zuckerberg was the innovator, one supposes, but the trend caught on like a virus, with whole swaths of the professional class eschewing honorable clothing choices for the disheveled who-cares look.

"How radical was this trend? Very. For hundreds of years, higher-end clothing was a mark of social and professional achievement. In fact, ruling-class elites in history have variously despised the democratization of fancy clothing that was made possible by the market economy. The whole point of sumptuary laws of the Colonial period, for example, was to stop peasants from dressing like their betters.

By the 20th century in the United States, it was possible for nearly every man to dress in clothing that was beautiful and respectful. This is why we are so shaken by photographs of men queued up in bread lines during the Great Depression. They look fabulous, and certainly far better than Big Tech CEOs today!

"All of this seems pretty simple and yet, for some extremely weird reason, it has been lost on a whole generation or two. Perhaps one of the good things that comes out of the FTX failure and the fall of Sam Bankman-Fried will be to prompt a rethinking of these clothing choices. Maybe we should start to see people in professional life who dress like slobs as red flags. If this person cares so little for his co-workers, customers, investors, and himself, perhaps he doesn’t deserve your confidence and trust either.". . .
