Finnigan’s War

"To commemorate the 60th anniversary of The Korean War, actor/filmmaker Conor Timmis sets out on a year long journey to honor his late grandfather and the heroes of America’s forgotten war. Narrated by Mark Hamill (Star Wars). 100% of all filmmaker profits go to benefit the Coalition of Families of Korean and Cold War POW/MIA’s. Interview highlights include Chosin Reservoir hero Maj. Kurt Chew-Een Lee, Medal of Honor recipient and Holocaust survivor Tibor Rubin and members of the Korean War’s all-black 2nd Rangers."

Taegan Goddard: The GOP's Border Spectacle

Not encouraging. How can a president so unqualified to run this country have succeeded in tying his opposition into such knots?

Political Cartoons by Michael Ramirez

Political Wire : Wall Street Journal editorial: "Republicans should be heading toward a November election victory, perhaps even a big one, adding to their House majority and maybe picking up the six or more seats necessary to control the Senate. Yet never underestimate their ability to save the day for Democrats, not least by showcasing the GOP's immigration neuralgia... the GOP again gave the country the impression that its highest policy priority is to deport as many children as rapidly as possible back from wherever they came."

"House Republicans may have scrambled enough on Friday to save themselves from a total meltdown. But this latest immigration debacle won't help the party's image, which is still recovering from the government shutdown debacle of 2011. A party whose preoccupation is deporting children is going to alienate many conservatives, never mind minority voters."

Sadly, the rest of the WSJ article is subscription only. Perhaps this source will open.

The party melts down one more time over immigration.  "Republicans should be heading toward a November election victory, perhaps even a big one, adding to their House majority and maybe picking up the six or more seats necessary to control the Senate. Yet never underestimate their ability to save the day for Democrats, not least by showcasing the GOP's immigration neuralgia.

"The House GOP looked ready Friday to pass a bill to address the influx of children over the Southwest border, though not before providing another spectacle of internal disarray. The bill should have been a moment to redirect attention to President Obama's cynical handling of the border problem and to the Democratic Party's immigration divisions. Instead the GOP again gave the country the impression that its highest policy priority is to deport as many children as rapidly as possible back from wherever they came.

It Wasn't Pretty, But It Worked: How the Right Won the Summer Immigration Battle

... "Conservatives capitalized on a perfect storm of the new House GOP leadership team's inability to whip enough votes Thursday and the hardline stance of key conservatives. Their effort was aided by aggressive movement activists, the conservative media, and a national mood against President Barack Obama — which led many Americans to call their representatives demanding they come up with a solution to the ongoing crisis at the border.

"And once the House GOP conference united on a plan, House Democrats went into overdrive Friday in an attempt to derail the new united GOP front." ...

Yet it appears Mr. Obama is the one gloating every day.

The Wicked Witch of the House in Meltdown

Gulag Bound    ... Ms. Pelosi "actually chased Rep. Tom Marino across the House floor, screeching that she took offense at his comments. I don’t know why… all he said was the truth. That she did nothing to prevent the border crisis when she was House leader and that she couldn’t be bothered to research anything period. Truth hurts, doesn’t it dearie? Break down in decorum doesn’t quite cover it. Heh.

"Good times from the esteemed Mr. Marino:"
... “You know something that I find quite interesting about the other side? Under the leadership of the former Speaker [Pelosi], and under the leadership of their former leader [Rep. Steny Hoyer], when in 2009 and 2010, they had the House, the Senate and the White House, and they knew this problem existed,” he continued. “They didn’t have the strength to go after it back then. But now are trying to make a political issue out of it now.”...

Gaza ethnic cleansing of Christians

The story the Western media is not telling.

Legal Insurrection    "The ethnic cleansing of Christians in Gaza by Hamas and other Islamists is a story rarely told in Western media.

"It doesn’t fit the dishonest media narrative of Hamas and its supporters being victims.
This report by Israeli channel i24, which we have been using for a live feed during the current war, is from January 2014:"

"It’s part of a pattern throughout the Middle East."

5 Ways Muslims Have Contributed to ‘Building the Very Fabric of Our Nation’

Why did Columbus set sail? Because the fall of Constantinople to Jihadists in 1453 closed the trade routes to the East.

PJ Media    "Last Sunday, in his message congratulating Muslims on Eid al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, Barack Obama wrote: “Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.” That’s right: he said “many achievements and contributions.” I could only think of five. Maybe you will be able to think of some more."

5. Getting us here in the first place`

"This one predates the United States as a nation, but without it, the United States would not exist. Every schoolchild knows, or used to know, that in 1492 Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue and discovered America while searching for a new, westward sea route to Asia. But why was he searching for a new route to Asia? Because the fall of Constantinople to the Muslims in 1453 closed the trade routes to the East. This was devastating for European tradesmen, who had until then traveled to Asia for spices and other goods by land. Columbus’s voyage was trying to ease the plight of these merchants by bypassing the Muslims altogether and making it possible for Europeans to reach India by sea."

The Hamas Plan: Victimhood

American Thinker  " Here is a picture that is making the rounds. I can't vouch for its authenticity. It purports to be the picture of a man who may or may not be the children's father, literally hanging them on what is reported to be his house in order to prevent Israeli forces from shelling his home."

"How could Israel have counter attacked with hundreds of hostages, women and children in Hamas' hands? Hamas would have been able to say for every bullet you fire we will kill one child  -- and show you his mutilated body. We will execute him and post it on YouTube. What would Israel have done? What could it have done?
"But there was one problem with that plan. It was so horrifically barbaric that the entire world would have been against Hamas. They had to find a way in which to turn such barbarism into " resistance" into the only way these victims of Zionist aggression could fight back against tanks [and] fighter planes."

When Obama voters apologize

Richard Kline  "A good friend of mine apologized to me today.  You see, he voted for Barack Hussein Obama in the 2008 election and he lives in a so-called “swing state.”  He told me that he had not voted for Obama in the 2012 election, but that he realized that by supporting him in 2008, he had help unleash a deadly virus onto the American scene.  He simply said he was sorry."
...
"But now our greater fears about Mr. Obama are confirmed.  He has made his way through this world by lying and deceiving.  There are no childhood friends recalling their growing up together.  There are no college classmates reminiscing about dear old Occidental, Columbia, or Harvard. Obama is a manufactured fraud.

"There is only the Chicago political machine and the Reverend Wrights of this world to partially fill in the many blanks where Obama was and what was he doing.  Mr. Obama didn’t even write his famed Dreams from My Father.  He simply has no documentable accomplishments to justify his political rise to power.  Yet, the American people twice elected him to the highest office in our land.  How did this happen? "   Full article...

President Lone Ranger

140730feature

Bokbluster    “ 'So the only reason I’m doing it on my own is because you won’t do anything,” said the president about Congress.

"President Lone Ranger is not happy about being sued by John Boehner. That’s because he wants to be impeached. The prospect of impeachment is a fundraising bonanza for Democrats.

"As someone once said, the Republicans may be dumb but they’re not stupid. They impeached the first black president (Bill Clinton) and he remains wildly popular to this day. They’re not about to impeach the second one.

"So they’re suing  him."

Kerry Israel Talks - Political Cartoon
http://comicallyincorrect.com/2014/07/30/kerry-israel-talks/

"John Kerry is upset by heavy criticism from Israelis — left, right and center — of his recent ceasefire diplomacy. But that’s only half the story. More significant is the consternation of America’s Arab partners, starting with the president of the Palestinian Authority. Mahmoud Abbas was stunned that Kerry would fly off to Paris to negotiate with Hamas allies Qatar and Turkey in talks that excluded the PA and Egypt.

"The talks also undermined Egypt’s ceasefire proposal, which Israel had accepted and Hamas rejected. “Kerry tried through his latest plan to destroy the Egyptian bid,” charged a senior Palestinian official quoted in the Arab daily Asharq Al-Awsat — a peace plan that the PA itself had supported.

"It gets worse."   Full article

The Loophole is Obama

Ann Coulter  ... "No law needs to be fixed. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the president.

"Obama has gone mad and is defying the law in order to "fundamentally transform America" -- as he pledged to do during the 2008 campaign -- into Latin America. (Luckily for George Will, he won't be around by the time Latin America gets to his neighborhood.)

"Any Republicans pushing for an immigration bill to seal an imaginary loophole aren't fighting Obama; they're helping him.

"Constitutionally, the remedy for a president defying the law so he can assist an alien invasion is impeachment. But the media won't let us impeach Obama -- and Republicans don't have the votes, anyway. The only way for Americans to fight back is to put large Republican majorities in the House and Senate this November."

Italian Reporter After Leaving Gaza Confirms It Was A Hamas Rocket That Hit School Playground Killing 10 Kids…

Weasel Zippers

From INN... "Verifying facts on the ground in Gaza is notoriously difficult for foreign reporters, and even for Palestinian journalists seen as aligned with the Fatah-led Palestinian Authority, as journalists are closely watched by Hamas security forces and can face interrogation and a permanent ban from Gaza for publishing material deemed unfavorable to the territory’s Islamist rulers. As such, little information has emerged on what exactly happened that day in Shati.

"But returning from a stint in Gaza, and safe from what he ominously referred to as potential “Hamas retaliation”, Italian journalist Gabriele Barbati broke the media silence by tweeting the following message, confirming that Hamas terrorists rushed to cover up evidence of what was indeed errant rocket fire aimed at Israel."...   Keep reading

The White House warned Israel it risks loss of its alliance with the U.S. over their criticism of John Kerry's tactics in peace talks. He decided to bring in Turkey and Qatar to the peace table and they're anti-Israel. John Kerry couldn't stop a ketchup fight at the Heinz family picnic.       Argus Hamilton

When You’ve Lost Haaretz…    "Haaretz is Israel’s establishment, liberal newspaper. Scott once described it to me in shorthand as the New York Times of Israel. So the paper is a natural ally of a Democratic U.S. administration.

"That is what makes this article by Barak Ravid remarkable. It is titled Kerry’s latest cease-fire plan: What was he thinking? It is behind a subscription wall, but the link goes to Haaretz’s mobile site and should be accessible:"
...
The draft Kerry passed to Israel on Friday shocked the cabinet ministers not only because it was the opposite of what Kerry told them less than 24 hours earlier, but mostly because it might as well have been penned by Khaled Meshal. It was everything Hamas could have hoped for.
Political Cartoons by Chip Bok
Israeli writer Caroline Glick writes:     ..."Until Obama made the call, there was lingering doubt among some Israelis regarding his intentions. Some thought that US Secretary of State John Kerry might have been acting of his own accord last Friday night when he tried to force Israel to accept Hamas’s cease-fire terms.

"But then Obama made his phone call. And all doubts were dispelled.

"Kerry is just a loyal steward of Obama’s foreign policy."
