The NBC News Job Ad For a Republican Political Analyst (Satire, as MSNBC tends to be)

The American Spectator | USA News and Politics

The reversal last week by NBC News of its decision to hire former Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel as a political analyst took Republicans by surprise. However, in the wake of McDaniel’s firing, MSNBC host and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the network Chris Hayes placed a job ad on Monster.com that suggests NBC’s efforts may continue to fall short of Republican expectations.  It is reproduced below:

. . ."NBC hires regardless of race, color, or sexual orientation and will adhere to its DEI recruiting standards. Still, we’re realistic and understand the ideal Republican candidate likely will be stereotypically white, chubby, and awkward (think Karl Rove or Sarah Huckabee Sanders minus the crazy).

"NBC also hires regardless of religious creed, although the preferred candidate should be an avowed Catholic who hates Catholicism or whose piousness promotes progressivism (think David French of The New York Times). Even though we don’t count them under our DEI standards, Jewish Republicans who loathe Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and accuse Israel of genocide are welcome to apply.

"The GOP commentator must hold the core conservative values of supporting abortion, mass amnesty, Keynesian economics, collectivism, high taxes, and men competing in women’s sports. A hatred of oil, coal, and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is required.

"To discuss how Republicans can win elections, the candidate should have recently lost political office, been a part of a losing campaign, or been fired from or formerly led a failing Republican political organization (except for Ronna “Romney” McDaniel — oh, the horror). Having worked for former presidential candidates John McCain and/or Mitt Romney is preferred but not required.

"NBC has desperately tried hiring Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. However, CNN scooped up Kinzinger, and Cheney still hasn’t forgiven Lawrence O’Donnell for dressing up as her for NBC’s 2019 Halloween costume party.

"The GOP candidate should be able to denigrate former Presidents George W. Bush and (especially) Trump while just as quickly praising President Joe Biden’s domestic and foreign policy achievements, such as securing America’s southern border from Texans seeking to protect it. The candidate also should support Biden’s effort to ensure Israel does not defeat Hamas in a way that would jeopardize Michigan’s electoral votes.

"The applicant must, with a straight face, be able to call Trump a vicious antisemite while simultaneously sitting on the same set with the Rev. Al Sharpton." . . .

Amazing that so many news sources go along with Wallace's staged shot of her throwing the script!  Wasn't it obvious when the camera was shifted to just the right spot for the scene?

Why must pressure be put on Israel? Why not condemn Hamas and Iran?

AfterMath - Home (terrellaftermath.com)

"Unimaginable. Israel is in an awful situation, the fault is absolutely Hamas and the Western governments who could easily put more pressure on Iran and Hamas but who have no problem blaming Israel."
Plus the issue of having U.S. Democrats for allies.

Why Do Americans, UN Support Hamas Terrorists? (townhall.com) . . ."Why are Americans not united in condemning the sickening murder and brutality of the Hamas terrorists, demanding the release of the now estimated 130 hostages they still hold, which include six U.S. citizens?

"How could our country abstain in the recent United Nations Security Council vote demanding a ceasefire in Gaza, with no condemnation of Hamas terrorism and with no demand of unilateral release by Hamas of the hostages they hold?

"What is the disconnect that can explain the absence of uniform support among Americans for clear-cut action by Israel to defend itself against brutal terrorists, committed to the destruction of its state and homeland?" . . .

Yet, worldwide, there remains antipathy to this lone, tiny yet successful-way-beyond-its-size Jewish country. Something is wrong. Very wrong.

Kevin O’Leary Clashes with Letitia James in Fiery Exchange on CNN

Andrew Rodriguez (msn.com)   "Kevin O’Leary clashed vehemently with CNN anchor Laura Coates over a New York judge’s ruling against Donald Trump, which imposed a $450 million bond and seized some of his assets.

"O’Leary argued the action went too far and sent a poor message to investors that their property rights would not be protected in New York or America.

"He drew parallels to authoritarian countries like Venezuela and Cuba, questioning how this would affect business confidence.

Texas to build military base on Mexico border, in new swipe at Biden ~

  MagnifyPost.com

"Texas plans to construct a military base along the border with Mexico, the state’s Republican governor announced Friday, as his election-year tug-of-war with the White House over migration continues to broil.

"A wave of illegal border crossings in recent months has made migration a key talking point in the US presidential election campaign once again, with Republicans seeking to pin blame for the record-high numbers entirely on Democratic President Joe Biden.

"Governor Greg Abbott made the announcement of the new base in the flashpoint border town of Eagle Pass, where he has amassed national guard troops from Texas and other Republican-led states to erect razor wire and other barriers in a bid to block migrants from entering the country.

"The town lies along the Rio Grande, the river that forms the border.

"The facility built on the site will be able to accommodate some 300 soldiers by April — and will have the ability to expand to house up to 2,300, Abott said.

“ 'This will increase the ability for a larger number of Texas military department personnel in Eagle Pass to operate more effectively and more efficiently,” said the governor.

"Abbott, a supporter of former president and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, accuses the Biden administration of allowing an “invasion” of illegal migrants at the country’s southern border." . . .

Obama: "He's The One Behind Everything" - Victor Davis Hanson

Mr. "I, Me, My", so self-absorbed.
“Ninety per cent of the folks who were there in my administration, they are continuing and building on the policies we talked about, whether it’s the Affordable Care Act or our climate change agenda and the Paris [climate deal], and figuring out how do we improve the ladders to mobility through things like community colleges.”
Biden ‘finishing the job’ my administration started, Obama says | Barack Obama | The Guardian   . . ." 'People knew I was left on issues like race, or gender equality, and LGBTQ issues and so forth,” Obama said. “But I think maybe the reason I was successful campaigning in downstate Illinois, or Iowa, or places like that is they never felt as if I was condemning them for not having gotten to the politically correct answer quick enough, or that somehow they were morally suspect because they had grown up with and believed more traditional values.”
"In fact Obama famously stirred controversy in 2008 when he said such voters “get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations”.
"The New York Times interviewer Ezra Klein did not raise those remarks.
"Obama continued: “I could go to the fish fry, or the [Veterans of Foreign Wars] hall, or all these other venues, and just talk to people. And they didn’t have any preconceptions about what I believed. They could just take me at face value.”
"The former president noted the drastic effects on such states of the collapse of local newspapers and the proliferation of misinformation via rightwing and social media.
“If I went into those same places now,” Obama said, “or if any Democrat who’s campaigning goes in those places now, almost all news is from either Fox News, Sinclair news stations, talk radio, or some Facebook page. And trying to penetrate that is really difficult." . . .

. . ."Besides portraying Biden as Obama’s puppet, the survey also showed that voters like Obama far more than the current president."

About the election campaigns

Resigning RINOs Threaten Trump and America -Brian C. Joondeph   "A handful of RINO members of Congress have either resigned or announced their intentions to do so in the coming weeks to months. They claim this is in protest to the now all but certain nomination of Donald Trump as the Republican presidential candidate.

"The latest threatened resignation is Senator Lisa Murkowski, a squishy Republican at best. She endorsed Nikki Haley for the GOP nomination and has been critical of Donald Trump.

"She voted to convict Trump and remove him from office. She also voted against Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to SCOTUS. On those two issues, the Republican Senator voted lockstep with Democrat Senators Dick Durbin and Chuck Schumer.

"Some Republican. Did any Democrats vote to not convict Trump or vote in favor of Kavanaugh? I don’t think so. Perhaps Senator Murkowski belongs to the wrong political party." . . .

Top Publisher Dumps Biden Book Due to Lack of Interest   . . ."Biden is just that unpopular. How unpopular?

Here is how badly other Biden books sold over the last few years.
“The Long Alliance”: 1,500 copies
“The Fight of His Life”: 5,000 copies
“The Last Politician”: 12,000 copies. . .

People just don’t buy Biden books. Not pro-Biden, or anti-Biden. No one is interested in Biden’s story. It’s just that simple.

They might buy Hunter's books just for the pictures. TD

BREAKING: Trump Posts $175 Million Bond to Proceed With Appeal in NY Civil Fraud Case – RedState   . . ."Trump secured the bond through Knight Specialty Insurance Company. Good for them, because given the present-day insanity, it might be considered a brave and courageous thing for them to just do their job like this.

"Because the amount of the award is unrelated to the damage to the alleged "victims," I think that a huge amount of the $454 million is likely to be reduced on appeal, even if Trump doesn't win the appeal outright.

"We'll have to see how it goes, but that's great news that now he will be able to proceed." . . .

The Parodigal Babylon Bee leaped into the breach: 4D Chess: Trump Makes Mar-A-Lago Worth $500 Million By Hanging Up 3 Hunter Biden Paintings | Babylon Bee

"Mar-a-Lago is now worth upwards of $500 million after former President Donald Trump announced he had hung up three paintings by renowned artist Hunter Biden.

"Trump held a special unveiling party for supporters at Mar-a-Lago's Donald J. Trump Grand Ballroom. The three paintings shown were "Some Colors," "Paint On Canvas," and "Look, A Bird."

"They tell me I overvalued this place but, if anything, I undervalued it," Trump told supporters. "But now they can't argue with me because I've got Hunter here. Everyone says 'Where's Hunter? Where is he?' Well, he's here, folks. We've got Hunter Biden here at Mar-a-Lago and it's a beautiful thing."

Christine Blasey Ford Was No Hero, Says ... WaPo?

 HotAir

"Give credit where due. Kathleen Parker likely angered most of her paper's readership by declaring the obvious, and indicting her own employer in the process.

"Christine Blasey Ford got her second round of media adulation last month for publishing her memoir of the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation she tried to derail. Parker wonders when the media will finally get around to discussing the book written by one of the victims of the unsubstantiated allegations, Mark Judge -- and when the media will finally recognize Blasey Ford's motives:" . . .

. . .As with Kavanaugh, Ford’s accusation against Judge was embraced by most of the news media despite an absence of evidence or corroborating testimony. No one who was supposed to have been at the party where Ford was allegedly assaulted remembered it, or her. Ford herself was unable to nail down the year the party took place (but settled on 1982 after several stabs) or where it was held, how she got there, how she got home or any other details, except that she herself had consumed just one beer, according to her testimony. Her claims against Kavanaugh ultimately were unsubstantiated. ...

And what about Judge? “Roadkill” is the way constitutional lawyer Jonathan Turley described Judge’s invisible role in this tale.

"That's strong language, but Parker doesn't stop there. She reveals that she tried researching Blasey Ford's allegations for a book of her own "that never came to fruition," but Parker did get a chance to take a closer look at Leland Keyser, a woman whom Blasey Ford claimed to be a witness to an assault that she could neither specifically date or place. Keyser denied ever having witnessed any such attack on Blasey Ford, either by Kavanaugh or anyone else, and told that to the FBI."

In Anonymous Vote, Harvard Law School Student Government Calls on University to Divest From Israel

 Jane Coleman (legalinsurrection.com)

. . ."Not to be outdone by the performative stunts at other elite schools, Harvard Law School students have now inserted themselves into the ongoing campus conflict over the Israel-Hamas war. In a resolution passed by anonymous vote on March 29, The Harvard Crimson reports, they called on the university to divest from Israeli “occupation and genocide” amid its ongoing battle with the terror group.

"The resolution urges the Harvard Management Company (HMC), which administers the school’s over $50 billion endowment

to divest completely from weapons manufacturers, firms, academic programs, corporations, and all other institutions that aid the ongoing illegal occupation of Palestine and the genocide of Palestinians, including withdrawing investments in securities, endowments, mutual funds, and other monetary instruments that provide material assistance to the commission or maintenance of flagrant violations of international law and human rights against Palestinians;

"and it calls on the Harvard community

to divest from institutions, weapons manufacturers, firms, academic programs, corporations, and all other institutions that aid the ongoing illegal occupation of Palestine and the genocide of Palestinians.

"Two members of the law school student government reportedly resigned in protest over the resolution.

"Harvard really doesn’t need this now. The law student government’s move comes smack in the middle of a federal probe into pervasive antisemitism at the university. And it follows former President Claudine Gay’s abysmal performance last December at the congressional antisemitism hearings, followed by her resignation over plagiarism charges. The scandals are taking their toll on applications for admission to the school, which have dropped markedly during this time.

"Meanwhile, aside from adding to the strife over antisemitism at the university, it’s hard to see what the resolution accomplishes: The law students’ demands to divest aren’t binding on anyone. University spokesperson Jason Newton stated that the university’s leadership has “made clear that it opposes calls for a policy of boycotting Israel and its academic institutions.” Unless the school actually divests, the resolution is a win on paper and nothing more.

"That was Nerdeen Kiswani‘s complaint when she spoke at the recent anti-Israel, student-organized “Resistance 101” Columbia webinar we covered here. “Not one single board of any school has ever actually divested or pulled funds from Israel or cut off relationships or cut off funding” because students “called on” them to do so, she said.

"But for publicity purposes, a win on paper is still a win, and the law school students seeking to cut the Jewish state off from Harvard celebrated it."

Far Right and Far Left Converge —Against the Jews   "An extremist distributes a flier about “Zionists infiltrating the media.” A political activist tweets, “Nothing is creepier than Zionism.” A pundit writes about “the dirty tactics of Zionist censorship.”

Although these three bigots come from very different places on the political and religious spectrums, they have managed to find something in common: hatred of Jews, thinly disguised as hatred of “Zionists.” . . .

The Intellectual Wasteland of Our American College Campuses

 Lt. Col. Allen West (townhall.com)

“It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.”  President Ronald Reagan;  In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” George Orwell

. . ."The wise words of Israel's King Solomon in Proverbs 22:6(NIV) say, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.

"The intellectual wasteland we see on our college campuses is ultimately the fault of us, adults. We came up with dumb ideas like participation trophies and now want to eliminate the SAT/ACT and not recognize valedictorians and salutatorians. We are telling young people in America that excellence is bad and reward them for being a Know Nothing. My Dad had a simple challenge for me, “Find what the standard is, and exceed it.” We are setting the bar so very low for this young generation. Appeasing and acquiescing to their whims ain't a recipe for their success.

"My Dad never went to college, but he was one of the wisest and smartest men I have ever known. My Mom did attend college, and she was the ultimate disciplinarian. They understood Proverbs 22:6. Dr. Angela Graham-West and I have used that same model to train our daughters.

"Ya can't Live Free being a Know Nothing; that means you are an intellectual slave in a time of deceit where telling the truth is a revolutionary act. One that I will continue to do at every college campus where I am invited  or anywhere.

"Steadfast and Loyal."

Was Newsom trying to punish California's fast-food counties with that wage hike, same as his beach lockdowns?

But there's something more to this war on fast food -- it's redolent of Newsom and his ilk, with their urge to punish the more conservative and questioning parts of Southern California.

Monica Showalter  "It's no secret that raising the minimum wage on one sector of the economy will ensure that that sector suffers from higher labor costs that will likely shutter some businesses and lead to layoffs.

"Which brings us to California's absurd hike in its minimum wage law for fast-food workers to $20 and hour, supposedly done by labor-union-influenced Sacramento pols, led by A.B 1228 sponsor Assemblymember Chris Holden of Pasadena to "benefit" workers the unions don't actually represent. Holden, of course, is very unioned-up, with his top donors public and private-sector labor unions. He seems to do what they tell him.

"According to The Hill:

Beginning Monday, most fast food workers in California will be paid at least $20 per hour, marking one of the highest minimum wages in the country.

A law increasing the minimum wage, signed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) last September, followed a push from the state’s fast food workers and labor unions, which held various strikes calling for better working conditions and wages.

"The $20 an hour minimum wage, which should have a knock-on effect to fast food workers with more seniority and higher wages, is said to be just the start. An Orwellian-sounding fast-food panel will be empowered to raise the minimum wage even more every year, no matter how battered businesses may be." . . .

Democrats Didn’t Just Denigrate Easter With ‘Transgender Day of Visibility,' but Digs at Israel

First, we see how Biden and Democrats were created for parody:  Biden Grants Day Of Visibility To Segment Of Population With Most Visibility In All Of Human History | Babylon Bee   "For far too long, Americans have not seen the bearded men in dresses twerking in their faces," said President Biden. "That ends on Easter."

"President Biden's declared day of visibility will bring awareness to the community plastered all over every media outlet, every government branch, every town parade, every corporate advertisement, and beamed through the internet to every device on planet earth. According to sources, this has created consternation amongst the Biden administration as aides are unsure how the transgender movement could possibly be any more visible.

" 'What do we even do?" asked White House aide Shelly Marks. "There is literally no way to make them even more visible. Trans people nude on the White House lawn? Aw, shoot, we already did that. Think, think!" . . .

Rebecca Downs (townhall.com)

Even if Merkley were not to choose one of the holiest days of the Christian calendar to go after Israel, and that's a pretty big "if," the contrast between celebrating Easter in a meaningful way and catering to the far-left, is very telling about the state of the Democratic Party's priorities.

"As Townhall has been covering, President Joe Biden issued a proclamation commemorating March 31 as "Transgender Day of Visibility," which is also when Easter took place this year. He then denied he ever did so, all while the White House and Biden's fellow Democrats lied and gaslit on the issue. Perhaps the worst Easter response came from Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), though, as our sister site of Twitchy highlighted

" 'On this Easter," Merkley wrote to begin a post from his official account that had virtually nothing to do with the holiday otherwise. Instead, it focused on attacking Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his war effort. It was another example of yet another Democrat attacking the victim after our ally in the Middle East was attacked by Hamas on October 7.

All may not be lost because of this Democrat Party, thanks to John Galt is Back:

When I first read this, I was disheartened to see to see that we have such a vile, lying person in the US Senate. One that ignores the horrors committed against innocent Israeli civilians and people from around the world-including US citizens. Sicked to see the rise of what passes for Nazism in the US government. We have seen it among the most vile members of Congress-those such as AOC, Omar, Tlaib, Schumer, Sanders. Now you. But then, I started reading the responses. It is so incredibly relieving and heartwarming to see the response not of some government idiot-but of the American people. It reinforces my belief, my hope, that the vast majority of Americans are decent, honorable people, that denounce anti-Semitism and stand with Israel and it's fight for survival against 3/4 of a century of genocide. Get it through your head-YOU WORK FOR US. Your vileness is not representative of decent, honorable Americans. You, along with too much of the current administration, are a sh*t-stain on American history. We see you.
