As Shortages Persist Under Biden, It’s Time To Ask: Is This On Purpose?

 Issues & Insights

And one reason for the increased infections? The lockdowns imposed by Biden’s Democratic colleagues that kept children isolated for nearly two years and compromised their immune systems.

"Did the United States suddenly become a socialist basket case? It’s hard not to come to that conclusion after reading about the endless shortages plaguing the nation. Each of which President Joe Biden either seems clueless to resolve or determined to make worse.

"Let’s start with the biggest one: the shortage of diesel fuel. While Biden was busy draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to tamp down gas prices before the midterm elections, the real worry was that supplies of diesel fuel have been running short.

"Two years after the short-lived COVID lockdowns ended, diesel inventories continued to trend downward to their lowest levels since 2008. The cost for a gallon of diesel fuel is 46% higher than it was a year ago, according to AAA, and now costs more than $5 a gallon.

"That affects every corner of the economy because, while passenger cars mostly use regular gasoline, diesel powers just about everything else that makes the economy move, and many homes, especially in the northeast, rely on heating oil – a related product – to keep their families from freezing to death.

"The American Farm Bureau Federation tried to alert Biden to the scale of this problem weeks ago. “Our nation’s food supply is driven by diesel. High diesel prices are severely impacting our farmers and ranchers, causing increased costs to consumers, and adding to food insecurity.”. . .

. . ."But the only thing that isn’t in short supply these days are dumb ideas that keep spilling forth from the White House. The question is, are these dumb ideas the result of bad advice from economic ignoramuses surrounding Biden? Or are these endless disruptions intentional, part of some plan by the left to increase government control over the economy?

"We’re not conspiracy mongers here. But given the way things have been going in Biden’s America these days, we’re not sure we can entirely rule out the latter possibility."   Emphases mine. TD

Hemingway: Biden Was Never The Brightest Bulb In The Chandelier. What does Springsteen think?

 The Federalist

“President Biden was never the brightest bulb in the chandelier throughout his 50 years of public service,” said Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway during an interview on Fox Business. “People are concerned about him. He is the first octogenarian in office. The problem for the Democrats is they don’t necessarily have a great bench of people. It would be difficult to move away from a sitting president. I’m sure we are going to hear a lot more, but they have a difficult path ahead.”. . .

Joe Biden is unfit to be president. Why didn't anyone stop him?
. . . "President Biden is a man of mediocre intellect who, over almost five decades in national public office, accomplished little to nothing, other than his election to federal offices and becoming rich off the federal teat and various side hustles.  He is a thin-skinnedchip-on-the-shouldermacho swaggerer who, in a Tucker Carlson phrase, "kisses up and spits down."  He is a prevaricatorplagiaristteller-of-tall-tales narcissist who has no respect for the truth, only narratives that advance his interests or portray him favorably.  If not a racist, he still sees only through the lens of race and pandersprejudges, or pounces accordingly.  Finally, when it comes to young children and women, he just cannot, as my mother used to put it, keep his hands to himself; he may be guilty of muchmuch worse.". . .

Here Are The Democrats And Republicans Who Received Campaign Cash Linked To Bankrupt Crypto Empire FTX

The Daily Wire   "Democrats heavily benefited from the campaign contributions of disgraced cryptocurrency billionaire and FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, while other affiliates of the company likewise helped Republicans ahead of the company’s failure last week.
"FTX filed for bankruptcy on Friday after users discovered that firms controlled by Bankman-Fried were allegedly fraudulently intertwined, causing him to lose his fortune overnight. The young multibillionaire contributed nearly $39 million during the recent midterm elections, with 99.6% of funds benefiting Democratic candidates, according to data from Open Secrets, which listed him as the nation’s sixth-largest individual midterm donor.
"The 30 year old donated $27 million to Protect Our Future PAC, a left-leaning group which in turn spent heavily on behalf of Democratic candidates for the House of Representatives. ". . .

Is 'The View' the best we get?

Babylon Bee: Pope Announces Any Time Spent Watching 'The View' Counts As Time Served In Purgatory  "The pope said the exchange rate for time is about 1 hour of The View for a "good six months" of purification in purgatory."

Part 1 The bottom of the Barrel  “The View” is the oldest all-female talk-show program on commercial TV, now celebrating 26 seasons in 25 years. The program premiered in 1997 with four co-hosts: Meredith Vieira as moderator, Star Jones, Debbie Matenopoulo, and Barbara Walters. Since those early days, there have been many changes in the line-up. Courtney Shea’s “Special Report” in the July 17, 2015 Toronto Star listed 15 different women co-hosts, ranking them in reverse order from worst to best.

"Listed as number 15, Debbie Matenopoulo (1997-98) was “only 22 when The View premiered, Matenopoulo… was quickly dubbed ‘Ditzy Debbie’ by the press and portrayed as ‘the uninformed young one,’ in SNL’s amazing parodies. Beyond that, she failed to leave much of a mark before getting fired in the middle of season two. She probably wasn’t the worst, but who really remembers?”

"Listed as number 5, Barbara Walters (1007-2014), “gets points for imagining a talk show format that has since been copied more times than the Eames chair… Note that in her 17 years at the table, she never really raised her voice against anyone. Instead, like the ultimate gossip madam, she kept it classy and let her girls do the dirty work.”

"Listed as number 1, Joy Behar (1997-2014). “Where to begin?” Shea asks. “Whether talking 50 Shades of Grey with Obama, storming offstage after Bill O’Reilly equated Muslims and terrorists or calling her boss Barbara Walters a slut, Behar could always be relied on to keep things spicy. Her rare talent for making pop sound smart, politics sound sizzling and everything sound hilarious made her the glue that held the panel together for seventeen seasons.”

"All this seems pretty tame, however, compared with what “View” co-host Kathy Griffin did in May of 2017 by posting an online photo showing her holding up the severed head of President Donald Trump.

Making the Most of Food and Beverage Marketing During a Financial Downturn  "
When facing a financial downturn, many food and beverage companies start looking for ways to cut their budgets. Often, the first thing to go is marketing. Too many companies believe they can survive the difficult times with their current customer base. But unfortunately, it’s indisputable that sales will most certainly decline without marketing to new customers.

When saving money becomes an absolute necessity, you can still make powerful marketing moves for your food and beverage brand if you’re ready to make some changes to your strategy.

Know Where the Money Goes

"During a financial downturn, restaurant spending goes down. During the Great Recession, spending on food consumed away from home dropped 18%, or nearly $47 billion. Even when not facing a recession as severe as in 2007 and 2008, we can still expect to see a decrease in restaurant sales.

"Conversely, grocery spending remained nearly the same during the Great Recession. The reason is simple: consumers typically tend to cook their own food at home when facing an economic downturn. We expect this to remain the case in the coming months.

"Your consumers are still out there but more likely ready to buy those food and beverage brands that can be consumed at home. For example, in 2010 at-home breakfast items became more relevant as consumers avoided more expensive away-from-home options. The focus was on buying fewer prepared meals, and more cooking from scratch. So, continue those marketing activities that will keep your brand top of mind when your customers are visiting the grocery store.". . . Keep reading

The Greatest Victory Of My Life Will Be Iranian People’s Victory Over Tyranny

 Hassan Nayeb Agha

. . ."Protests continued for several months, and the Shah was ousted by a massive revolution on February 11, 1979.  I left Iran to continue my graduate studies in sociology in California. It was quite evident to me that the West was totally blindsided by the removal of the Shah, who was perceived as irremovable.

"The revolution had been all about freedom and democracy, but Ruhollah Khomeini hijacked its leadership to pursue a different agenda. Soon, he established theocratic rule and showed that he had zero tolerance for democracy and democratic tendencies. Unbridled terror and executions started just a couple of years after the Shah’s downfall.

"A hot summer day in July 1983 was another moment that I will never forget.  A phone rang and I answered it to hear one of my friends crying and telling me in a broken voice that Habib Khabiri had been executed. Habib, with his constant smile, was the rising star of Iranian soccer who had started playing at a very young age and soon earned a place on the national team, ultimately becoming its captain. I still vividly remember his unbelievable shot from 30 meters away during the qualifying match against Kuwait in 1978.

"Habib and I played at the same club and soon developed the same politics. He was an activist with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK), the principal Iranian resistance movement and the main target of the ayatollahs’ terror campaign. He was executed alongside dozens of the MEK activists. Since then, dozens of Iran’s other champions and national team players have been executed.". . .

Much more on this subject: Biden Repeats Obama’s Iran Errors   Iranians know from experience not to trust America's support for freedom causes:

Why Obama Let Iran's Green Revolution Fail - Bloomberg . . ."There was a chance for a better outcome. There is no guarantee that an Obama intervention would have been able to topple Khamenei back in 2009, when his people flooded the streets to protest an election the American president wouldn't say was stolen. But it was worth a try. Imagine if that uprising had succeeded. Perhaps then a nuclear deal could have brought about a real peace. Instead, Obama spent his presidency misunderstanding Iran's dictator, assuring the supreme leader America wouldn't aid his citizens when they tried to change the regime that oppresses them to this day.

. . ."But Obama wasn't just reluctant to show solidarity in 2009, he feared the demonstrations would sabotage his secret outreach to Iran. In his new book, "The Iran Wars," Wall Street Journal reporter Jay Solomon uncovers new details on how far Obama went to avoid helping Iran's green movement. Behind the scenes, Obama overruled advisers who wanted to do what America had done at similar transitions from dictatorship to democracy, and signal America's support. Solomon reports that Obama ordered the CIA to sever contacts it had with the green movement's supporters.

Now THIS is gaslighting!

Why Biden 2024 ties some Democrats in knots - POLITICO  "Things are going pretty damn well for President Joe Biden on Capitol Hill. Except for one thing.

"Even as Biden’s domestic agenda accelerates at surprising speed for an election year — climate, health care and taxes may follow veterans and manufacturing through Congress this summer — within his own party there’s been a slight but unmistakable political drift away from him ahead of the midterms.". . .

James Clyburn Says Biden Is ‘Exactly What We Need’ | The Daily Caller  . . .“We are a great country. We are good people and people voted to maintain both their goodness and their greatness. I think Joe Biden is exactly what we needed. Back 10 years ago I said that. I said, ‘We know Joe, but most importantly Joe knows us,’ and I think he’s what we need for 2024 as well.”. . .

Consider the utter contempt Democrats have toward Americans, to tell us things are glowing when we see prices rising, hordes of border-crossers daily, and when we see our laughing enemies bully us as a third-world country. I believe informed Democrats don't hold Biden in any regard, but they support those who control  him and whose policies Joe only needs to sign off on.   TD

Evening News Spends ONLY 11 Seconds on Warnock Child Support Scandal

MRC    "The double-standard is atrocious. The Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) evening newscasts have almost completely buried Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock’s child support scandal, spending only 11 seconds on it since September 1.. . .

. . ."In stark contrast, the network evening newscasts (September 1 - November 16) flooded their airwaves (36 minutes, 21 seconds) with stories of women accusing his GOP opponent Herschel Walker of paying for abortions. That’s almost 200 times more coverage to the Walker story than the Warnock scandal.
"On Tuesday, Warnock’s ex-wife Oulèye Ndoye requested that a court compel the Georgia Senator to face questioning over child custody. Ndoye has also accused Warnock of failing to properly pay child care expenses. Despite the issue being brought up in the October 14 Walker-Warnock debate the evening newscasts mostly looked the other way. ". . .

Adam Schiff Has an Incredible Change of Heart on Congressional Investigations

That respect for the rule of law has suddenly disappeared, and we all know why. Because Schiff is a ridiculous hack who had no business ever being near power.

RedState  "The tables have turned in the House of Representatives, and now, the hunters will become the prey. After years of Democrat partisans “investigating” Republicans for any manner of nonsense, the Biden administration and its cohorts in Congress will finally face some real pressure, albeit limited.

"That reality led to a very interesting exchange on CNN on Sunday morning. Rep. Adam Schiff, who has spent his entire tenure blabbing on cable news, promoting one made-up “scandal” after another, was asked whether he would comply with a Republican House subpoena. His answer was as brazen as it was unsurprising.

"It’s enough to make you want to go beat your head against a brick wall. Schiff has spent years treating subpoenas as religious rites, unquestionable and all-powerful. Now, the moment he may face one, he has decided that a judgment on the “validity” of the subpoena is in order, whatever that means. I guess Schiff believes he gets to decide that, though, I’m pretty sure that’s not how the law works.

"Of course, Dana Bash, the CNN propagandist interviewing him offered no pushback because why would she? After all, this is the same network that had anchors crying on election night in 2016 after finding out Donald Trump had won. You can’t expect one of their anchors to actually offer a fair and balanced take.

"What makes this all the more hypocritical is that Schiff helped take down Steve Bannon on “contempt of Congress” charges in the months prior. In fact, the California congressman was so hyped up that he put out a video on his website bragging about his role in the process. In it, while speaking with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow (because who else?), Schiff called Bannon’s indictment for ignoring the House subpoena a “powerful message.”

If You Have Not Been Taught to Think for Yourself, Then Disinformation is Scary  "CTH* has encountered criticism for our position on information.  Perhaps it is important to step back and explain exactly why we should not be playing by rules established to control us while engaged in the battle of ideas.  First, my position:

…”There is no such thing as “disinformation” or “misinformation”.  There is only information you accept and information you do not accept.  You were not born with a requirement to believe everything you are told; rather, you were born with a brain that allows you to process the information you receive and make independent decisions.”…

"There are only two elements within the public discussion of information, truth and not truth.

"In an era filled with “fact-checkers” and institutional guardians at the gates of Big Tech, let me explain exactly why it is important not to accept the speech rules of the guards.

"When you accept the terms “disinformation”, “misinformation” or the newest lingo, “malinformation,” you are beginning to categorize truth and lies in various shades.  You are merging black and white, right and wrong, into various shades of grey." . . .  *Conservative Treehouse

 What to do with Biden?

Should Mr. Biden stay on track to seek re-election, "awkward" doesn't come close to describing the scurrying behind the scenes that will ensue among the other wannabes.  The palpable lack of talent among those on the Democrat bench further adds to the confusion.  Beto?  Kamala?  Hair Gel?  Really?  Yet there's always the possibility of a "dark horse" trotting into the spotlight.  After all, Hillary is tan and rested.  Just don't hold your breath (and your little dog, too).

Dem Rep. Jackson Lee: Words ‘Can Actually Break Your Bones’   "Saturday, during an appearance on MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation,” Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) attacked House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the Republican nominee for House Speaker in the next Congress.". . .

Joe Biden's Senility Catches Karine Jean-Pierre in a Big Lie on Railroad Strike  "While it hasn’t received much press lately, one of the most important stories in the country remains the looming possibility of a railroad strike. It goes without saying that a shutdown of most of the nation’s ability to transport fuel and consumer goods would be a disaster for the American public.

Prior to the 2022 election, a tentative deal was reached that froze things in place. What a coincidence, right? Who could have guessed that Democrat-backed unions would take one for the team to ensure that the nation didn’t meltdown before voters went to the polls? Yet, heading into the Christmas season, things remain on a knife’s edge.

That’s left the White House scrambling, and it also happens to be the setup for one of the most blatant lies told by the Biden administration. When pressed on whether President Joe Biden was “directly” involved in negotiations between the unions and the rail companies, his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, insisted over and over that he was.

But as a new video put together by the RNC shows, that’s simply untrue. How do we know? Because Biden himself told us.

Rantz: Seattle Councilmembers are trying to defund the police again

"Despite a rise in crime, some on the City Council are trying to defund the Seattle Police Department again. Too bad it’s getting scant or disingenuous coverage.

"The council is currently debating Mayor Bruce Harrell’s budget. Anti-police councilmember Teresa Mosqueda, who once defended a man threatening to murder police, is looking to cut funds from the SPD permanently. She just doesn’t want you to realize it’s part of the defund movement.

"Harrell’s budget temporarily cuts $11 million dollars from the budget. The money would have been used to fill 200 open staff positions, but it was cut to fund only 120. The SPD is dangerously understaffed, so why would they cut the budget?

Joe, meanwhile, seems to have no idea of his failures of character:    Clyburn, though, is now trying to tell us Joe is something he's not. That's the disgusting part. Suddenly we are going to be hearing a lot about how great Joe is for the American people in a Hollywood-style buildup as Clyburn's minions seek to please him by imitating his praise. It's all fine and dandy for Democrats, but ... surely that will repel the voters.

Children Inside Nantucket Restaurant Take Selfies With Joe Biden Who’s Trapped Behind Sniff-Proof Glass …. And Here is How it Turned Out

Defiant America   Joe Biden is spending the long weekend in a $22 million house on Nantucket owned by a billionaire who doesn’t pay his fair share of taxes.

"Joe and Jill Biden went shopping in Nantucket for Small Business Saturday.
