Letterman can't hold a candle* to Leno, politically, comedically or personally. Here's another reason why

Leno’s shot at the AP, Democrats, and immigration reform
"Obligatory, really, after the exceedingly silly public statement from the wire service yesterday. Newsbusters has the grab from last night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno, in which Leno manages shots at the Associated Press, Democrats, and the rush for an immigration-reform bill in less than 30 seconds, including the applause:"

“And in a groundbreaking move, the Associated Press, the largest news gathering outlet in the world, will no longer use the term ‘illegal immigrant.’ That is out. No longer ‘illegal immigrant.’ They will now use the phrase ‘undocumented Democrat.’ That is the newest – ‘undocumented Democrat.’”
Can this be one reason that Leno is on his way out at (MS)NBC?

*Where did the phrase "can't hold a candle to you" originate?  "I understand it to mean that the person has so much less skill or beauty, intelligence, talent, or some other good quality) than you that the comparison can't even be made. Apprentices used to hold candles to light the work that a master artist or craftsman was doing. The person who held the candle was at a lower level in his or her career than the master. What is implicit in the saying is that the person is not worthy even to hold the light for you."
