"A suspect armed with a gun and a hatchet has been shot dead by police after injuring three people inside a busy Nashville movie theater during a screening of Mad Max.
"SWAT team cordoned off an area surrounding the Carmike 8 theater in Antioch, Tennessee, at 1:13pm on Wednesday afternoon after movie-goers alerted nearby officers to the gunman who walked in wearing a surgical mask.
"A short time later the 51-year-old local man, who has not yet been identified, was shot dead by police after escaping the theater out of the back. Witnesses say the confrontation with officers lasted up to three minutes.
"A 58-year-old man was injured after they were attacked with the axe while two women - aged 53 and 17 - were treated for chemical exposure at the scene after the suspect doused the inside of the theater with pepper spray." . . .Read more
