My Letter to President Obama
Rush Limbaugh "...These people are not your enemies, though, Barack. They are Americans. They are part of this country. They are part of what makes the nation work. You are not. You have nothing to do, and have had nothing to do, with this nation's greatness. You can't lay claim to greatness on any scale, not even rhetorical. But you have no direct relationship to the greatness of this country. You are damaging the possibility of further greatness. Nevertheless, like a bully, you continue to threaten all of these people. The Supreme Court, Big Oil, Big Pharmaceutical, Big Retail, talk show hosts, Fox News, the list goes on. You threaten anybody who does not agree with you. You try to intimidate them. You smear them..."
Is It Just Politics? Or does Obama actually believe in his nuclear option?
Max Schulz, NRO "That’s an odd position to take about the only viable technology capable of producing reliable, industrial-sized amounts of zero-emissions power. Either it betrays a fundamental misunderstanding about energy basics, or it suggests the president’s pledge to move to a green economy is more about serving Democratic constituencies (environmentalists and labor unions) than about curbing emissions to save us from global warming and rising sea levels." And this from NuclearPowerNow .
Trashing the Job Makers
Victor Davis Hanson "When it comes to creating a psychological climate that encourages employers to start hiring again, a little certainty and a little praise are a lot better than uncertainty and talk of taxing even more those who already pay the most." Hat tip to National Review
GOP Senator Rips Into MSNBC Host For ‘Absurd,’ ‘Dishonest,’ Statements
Newsbusters "Brewer then attempted to end the interview: “We appreciate your time today-” Gregg kept going: “You can’t be duplicitous about this. You can’t make a representation and then claim you didn’t make it. You know, it just shouldn’t work that way. You’ve got to have some integrity on your side of this camera, too.” Liberal Media Bias "Bernie Madoff stealing $50 billion leads the newscasts, but the Obama Administration stealing $1.8 trillion from our grandchildren falls on the cutting room floor."
America the Awful---Howard Zinn's History
MindingTheCampus "Indeed, Zinn found that his book was regularly adopted as a text in high schools and most surprisingly, in many colleges and universities." What history textbooks do your kids study?
Lawyer: Phone Scheme Meant to Embarrass Senator
BigGovernment "Instead, Jordan said, they hoped to get embarrassing video footage of Landrieu’s staff handling constituent calls. Her office received complaints last month that callers opposed to her health care stance couldn’t get through."
Obama Hoisted on His Own Foreign Donation Petard
Atlas Shrugs "Aside from the fact that what Obama alleges here is a big fat lie, it is galling that he is guilty of this very thing."
Obama fronts up to frustrated public, including 'Obama Girl'
New Zealand Herald Pre-State of the Union: "Even loyal supporter Obama Girl expressed disappointment towards Obama yesterday. "I feel like he should be focusing a lot more on jobs and the economy," said Lee Amber Ettinger, 28, who caused a sensation in the presidential race with her song "I got a crush on Obama"."
Morning Bell: A Speech Only Washington Could Love
Heritage "With the big-bang strategy officially a failure, President Obama’s State of the Union address last night desperately tried to keep all of these legislative efforts alive while also acknowledging that the country has firmly rejected his policy agenda."
A Response to the president's State of the Union speech
Bob Grant, AT "I'm not sure I can remember a time when a Commander-in-Chief with troops actively engaging the enemy on several fronts, failed to thank the brave people who risk their lives to keep this nation safe. Hell Obama didn't even see fit to mention them for an hour, and then it seemed as though it was an afterthought."
Just How Leftist Has the Democratic Party Become?
Pajamas Media "Employing statistics from the Americans for Democratic Action, a self-defined liberal activist group, we analyzed House and Senate voting records dating back to 1974. Using as a definition of “liberal” someone who votes with the ADA recommendation at least two-thirds of the time, we found that in 1995 nearly four out of five Democrats in the House (78 percent) qualified as liberal. That is more than double the 34 percent of 1974."
