Townhall "Historically, immigrants have come to these shores with the intention of embracing democratic ideals, not supplanting them. Without these ideals, we would cease to be America. If we are unwilling to defend the foundations of our liberty, we must realize that we are at great risk of losing it.
"For heaven's sake, let's have a robust discussion about whether the tenets of Islam are compatible with the tenets of democracy. The loss of our liberty is too high a price to pay for the sake of political correctness."
Ken Connor is Chairman of the Center for a Just Society in Washington, DC.
A Witch Hunt for Bigots Singes American Media "I've talked to people at CAIR and MediaMatters. I know folks who work for NPR. They all think they're smart, and yet they've just sent a bonehead message to the American public.
"Way to go, ye titans of tolerance. You've just broadcasted that an African-American moderate with a solid civil-rights record can lose his job and be branded as a bigot for quoting a convicted terrorist and admitting to a moment's hesitation if he sees someone in Muslim garb on a plane." Debra J. Saunders
We Are All Bigots Now "Timothy McVeigh did not proclaim “Jesus Is Lord” when he blew up the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. In fact, truth be told McVeigh was a professed agnostic who said he worshipped science!
"The attacks nine years ago that killed 3,000 Americans were not just done by people who happened to have grown up in a Muslim country, but they were done IN THE NAME OF ISLAM..." David Stokes

The Face of Freedom-Takers- George Soros- Freedom Action
Freedomist "George Soros, a Hungarian billionaire who manipulates currencies to earn his riches while brankrupting millions, has declared open season on anyone who resisists his neo-fascist form of Progressive secular socialism. Soros is putting millions into front groups and giving them the task of digging up dirt, or inventing it if necessary, on anyone who stands in his way."....
"Now, instead of manufacturing a crisis to devalue a currency, Soros is pushing a political agenda that, even now, is knee-capping America’s economic and political institutions, making her ripe for the kind of collapse Soros knows all too well how to profit from."
We ask why honorable Muslims won't condemn the violent terrorists. In the same vein, why don't honorable Democrats condemn the damage to this nation being perpetrated in the name of their party?

Juan Williams and NPR; more to be said
Krauthammer Directly Challenges Totenberg on NPR’s ‘Hypocrisy’ in Firing Juan Williams While Letting Her Opine Freely "An uncomfortable Totenberg asserted “it’s a very, very difficult line to draw. And NPR tries to draw it, in my view, using rules that don’t exist anymore.” To which, Krauthammer wondered: “But what’s the difference between you and Juan expressing opinions? You on this show, and him on Fox?”"
Andy McCarthy: NPR: A Test Case for Republicans "If they cannot defund NPR, you can bet they will not reverse Obamacare"....
"...Williams miscalculated. He figured that because he is a long-standing member of the NPR-certified Society of the Slavishly Right-Thinking, he could safely stroll a few steps off the reservation. Too bad he was wrong, but at least he got the chance to miscalculate. On the political right, we get no chance. In the NPR world Williams helped foster, we’re already condemned."

So This Means We Get To See Obama's College And Law School Records, Right?
Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion "Right? I mean, all we now have to do is to run to this Judge in Alaska and point out that if Joe Miller's confidential personnel file from a prior employer needs to be made public because running for Senate is so important, certainly we are entitled to more information about Obama than he tells us in his books, right?"
Judge orders Miller documents released " "I hold that although Mr. Miller has a legitimate expectation of privacy in those documents, Mr. Miller's right to privacy is indeed outweighed by the public's significant interest in the background of a public figure who is running for the U.S. Senate," the judge said. He noted that U.S. senator is among the highest elected offices in the nation."

Bride-to-be set to say 'I do' — to herself (Oh, well...why not?)
MSNBC " "I was just hoping that more people would love themselves," said Chen, who will go on a solo honeymoon to Australia. "
Has she written her vows yet? Will they be made public? Did she do a pre-nup? Can she be forced to testify against herself in any future trial? How about pre-marriage counselling? (Well, obviously not that last one.)

Wikileak’s Papers Reveal US Troops Did Find WMD in Iraq
Danger Room "The WMD diehards will likely find some comfort in these newly-WikiLeaked documents. Skeptics will note that these relatively small WMD stockpiles were hardly the kind of grave danger that the Bush administration presented in the run-up to the war.
"But the more salient issue may be how insurgents and Islamic extremists (possibly with the help of Iran) attempted to use these lethal and exotic arms. As Spencer noted earlier, a January 2006 war log claims that “neuroparalytic” chemical weapons were smuggled in from Iran." Via Gateway Pundit: Wikileak’s Papers Reveal US Troops Did Find WMD in Iraq
Wikileaks: how Iran devised new suicide vest for al-Qaeda to use in Iraq In one of the most tantalising documents, they also hint at Iranian involvement in al-Qaeda suicide bombing. Via Lucianne.
The New York Times Hearts WikiLeaks, Again "It’s rather ironic that in chronicling documents that are supposed to expand our knowledge about the Iraq War, Tavernise and Lehren actually detract from any public understanding of this vital subject." By Max Boot in Commentary

Learn Your Lincoln, Mr. President
Hands Off Texas! "On Wednesday during a speech in Parma, Ohio, President Obama decided to quote a former President to help justify his policy initiatives:
“But in the words of the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, I also believe that government should do for the people what they cannot do better for themselves”."I assume he was paraphrasing this actual quote from President Lincoln, but unfortunately he left out the most important part:"...
Hat tip to Gateway Pundit : Shameless Obama Twists Lincoln’s Words to Support His Socialist Agenda.
The World Has a Muslim Problem
Orson Bean in Big Hollywood "I used to watch Bernie Goldberg in his early days on Fox trying to retain what he could of his liberal beliefs. As he came to see the savagery of the left he slowly came around to being more conservative. It will be interesting to see the same thing happen to Williams. Both of them were decent liberals who found that the ground moved out from under them."
Obama’s Destructive Foreign Policy
Big Government "President Obama seems to think that every global policy problem is a result of misunderstanding, miscommunication, or mixed signals perpetuated through the Bush presidency. If we could just get the world to like the United States, Obama argues, these problems will solve themselves. Multiple unenforced ultimatums for Iran and Obama’s inflated faith in personal diplomacy fail to instill much confidence for the future." Includes video interview with Victor Davis Hanson.

Cool: Audience at Congressional Debate Insists on Saying Pledge of Allegiance
Townhall "A goosebumps-inducing moment at a Congressional debate in Illinois' 8th District:"...(video and sound)
Rich Galen: On Juan Williams (Updated)
Townhall "Here is a short list of what I suspect are DOs and DON'Ts at NPR:
-- DO say good things about medical marijuana. DON'T say good things about cigarettes.
-- DO say good things about Palestinians. DON'T say good things about Israelis.
-- DO say positive things about "green jobs." DON'T say good things about manufacturing companies.
-- DO say wonderful things about Barack Obama. NEVER say anything good about ANY Republican."
Rich Galen has been a press secretary to Dan Quayle and Newt Gingrich. Rich Galen currently works as a journalist and writes at Mullings.com
Juan Williams Firer a Soviet Fan? "Ms. Schiller is suddenly infamous as the National Public Radio executive with Soviet-style values on display in the firing of Juan Williams.
"Where would an American media executive ever learn that dissent is not to be tolerated?
How about a film project called "Portrait of the Soviet Union?" "
PBS Sends Senior Editor as Presenter to CAIR Conference on ‘Defaming Islam” "To make this clear: PBS apparently sent Schwartzberg to train “CAIR leadership” at a conference held specifically to “do something about” the alleged problem of “Islam defamed.” The use of the concept of “defamation” of Islam should be a red flag alert to Congressional funders of PBS: CAIR’s conference publicity followed the instructions of the Organization of the Islamic Conference to enforce Shariah blasphemy and defamation laws in the U.S. – in this case, with the support of publicly funded PBS staff."
Fire Juan Williams Right Now! Our Sneering Liberal Culture in a Nutshell:
"The Juan Williams Firing — Or a Primer on Elite Liberal Thinking
"There were lots of slants on NPR’s firing of news analyst Juan Williams that reflect how surreal cultural liberalism has become. Let us walk through ten of them."....
"... Does NPR see that it is now in an entirely untenable situation: it simply cannot retain the CEO who slandered Williams, but fire Williams who slandered no one — and retain any shred of respect?"
Victor Davis Hanson
National Pathetic Radio by STEPHEN F. HAYES "On its website, NPR proudly touts the fact that Totenberg is a panelist on Inside Washington, a talkshow distributed to public broadcasting stations. But the bio for Mara Liasson, NPR’s national political correspondent, doesn’t mention the fact that she is a Fox News contributor.
"Why the double-standard? Mostly because NPR execs disapprove of Fox. But there’s something deeper, too."
Stephen F. Hayes is a senior editor at The Weekly Standard. He is also a guest panelist on Fox News Special Report With Brett Baier and the author of the following post as well.
Is Nina Totenberg Next? by STEPHEN F. HAYES
"If that’s true, NPR legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg might want to start looking for a new job."

Schiller said Williams' firing is not a reflection of his comments (on Fox News Channel) that he gets nervous when he sees people in Muslim garb on an airplane. She said she has no problem with people taking controversial positions, but that such opinions should not come from NPR reporters or news analysts.
"If that’s true, NPR legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg might want to start looking for a new job."
How America Can Stand By Arizona
Russell Pearce, Townhall " Even Democrats like Georgia’s Roy Barnes say they’d sign such a bill. Of course a politician’s promise isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.
"Even if they would in fact sign the bill, they must also pledge to fight the Obama administration and its far left buddies like the ACLU and Mexican American Legal Defense Fund who are sure to file lawsuits and do whatever they can to block implementation of the law."
