THE DIFFERENTIAL THEORY OF THE U.S. ARMED FORCES (SNAKE MODEL) - UPDATED 2012

Blackfive   Sorry guys; this one is guaranteed to offend everybody it touches. But I do love this excerpt about the Democratic representative (and Senator). Especially Senator.
US Congress Representative (D):  After initially voting in favor of anti-snake military action, suddenly realizes that the snake can never be defeated. Goes on TV and describes current operations as 'failed' before they begin and the calls the leading herpetologist in the world 'incompetent'. Pleads with snake not to hurt us. Then introduces legislation to re-deploy all military forces to Okinawa where they can more effectively engage snakes, world-wide. Then heads overseas to attempt to negotiate our surrender to the snake. Takes intern for 'support'.

Swift Boat Two? Special Ops group takes on Obama claims regarding Bin Laden

American Thinker   "This won't be as big as the Swift Boat effort, simply because the killing of Osama bin Laden is not as central to Obama's campaign as was Kerry's military service to his.
"But if what Reuters is reporting is true, it is going to make for some uncomfortable moments for the Obama camapaign."
Majority of Independents Say Obama ‘Over-Politicized’ bin Laden Killing. However...

A total of 46 percent of respondents say they trust Obama more on foreign policy than his likely GOP challenger Mitt Romney, while 44 percent choose Romney. But Romney leads among independents — 48 to 38 percent.
How on earth can this be? With all Obama's gaffes, bowing and apologizing; with his feckless treatment of the Iranian people in their fight for freedom; his dumping of the promised missile defense system for our Eastern European allies, the silly "reset" button for Russia; the video of appeasement sent to Iran at the start of his administration - I can go on - and so many other instances where Obama has telegraphed weakness to our enemies and betrayal to our allies, how obtuse can Obama supporters be?  TD
Anyway, Reuters had these words to say:
A group of former U.S. intelligence and Special Forces operatives is set to launch a media campaign, including TV ads, that scolds President Barack Obama for taking credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden and argues that high-level leaks are endangering American lives.....
Mr. President, you did not kill Osama bin Laden, America did. The work that the American military has done killed Osama bin Laden. You did not," Ben Smith, identified as a Navy SEAL, says in the film."As a citizen, it is my civic duty to tell the president to stop leaking information to the enemy," Smith continues. "It will get Americans killed."

Here comes a buzzkill: This Threat Seems Fictional, but It’s a Real Danger

The Foundry  "What happens to our society if we lose all electricity? A new TV show premiering next month, Revolution, will explore that question. It will be set in a world “where every single piece of technology—computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights—has mysteriously blacked out forever.”
"The good news is that the U.S. can do a lot to protect itself from the effects of a deliberate EMP attack by an enemy or an EMP caused by space weather, such as a large solar flare. But local, state, and federal governments have a lot of work to do. The Heritage Foundation has urged Congress to establish August 15 as National EMP Awareness Day, to educate the public and lawmakers on the threat and the need for action.

"Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago,"

The Hill;  Romney slams Obama in tough new speech
"Romney repeatedly and harshly criticized Team Obama for the remarks.

" "His campaign and his surrogates have made wild and reckless accusations that disgrace the office of the Presidency.  Another outrageous charge came a few hours ago in Virginia. And the White House sinks a little bit lower," Romney said.

" "This is an election in which we should be talking about the path ahead, but you don't hear any answers coming from President Obama’s re-election campaign. That’s because he's intellectually exhausted, out of ideas, and out of energy. And so his campaign has resorted to diversions and distractions, to demagoguing and defaming others. This is an old game in politics; what’s different this year is that the president is taking things to a new low." "

Our Not So Best and Not So Brightest

Victor Davis Hanson   "I thought Trent Lott should have stepped down for praising 100-year-old Strom Thurmond at his birthday fest in ways that could have suggested support for Thurmond’s earlier creed of racial segregation. But what does it take for his liberal counterpart — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid — to quit? Declare the Iraq war lost in the midst of a surge to save it? Claim that Barack Obama is a light-skinned black who can turn on and off his black accent?

Defame an African-American member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission a “sh-t stirrer”? Or in McCarthyesque style fantasize that “someone” heard a rumor that Romney did not pay taxes, and hence Romney must release a decade of returns to “prove” that he is not a tax cheat — and this from a man who became a millionaire while in public office and has not released a single year of his own returns? The treatment of Lott versus the treatment of Reid reminds one of the quite different fates of Alberto Gonzales and Eric Holder; the former was grilled by Congress to the point of being forced out, while the latter simply called his accusers racists and ignored what followed."

The Israel/Iran War Game; Will they (the Israelis) or won’t they? And if so, when? I know the answers, but you’re not going to like them.

Jerusalem Post
Michael Ledeen   "Because Israel is only going to do it if they think they know that time’s up.  That the Iranians have everything they need to put a nuclear warhead on a serviceable missile that can hit Israel.  Israel does not want to do it.  For as long as I can remember, the Israelis have been trying to get U.S. to do it, because they have long believed that Iran was so big that only a big country could successfully take on the mullahs in a direct confrontation.  So Israel’s Iran policy has been to convince us to do whatever the Israelis think is best.  And while they’re willing to do their part, they are very reluctant to take on the entire burden."

Davidson College in North Carolina Bans Chick-fil-A

Newsmax   "Students began a protest and collected nearly 500 signatures in an online petition calling for the school to stop serving Chick-fil-A at campus sanctioned events

"Davidson doesn't have a Chick-fil-A on campus but the company's food was served on campus events occasionally. Some colleges have protested the restaurants being on campus but none has banned the business."

Romania’s 20-Year Nightmare: Unraveling Socialized Health Care

By Ion Mihai Pacepa
The former general's most interesting bio

"There is no better way to visualize the eventual disaster that a nationalized health care system can generate than to watch The Death of Mr. LazarescuThis movie was inspired by the heartbreaking true story of Constantin Nica, a real retired Romanian engineer who had the misfortune of growing old in a country that still maintained a nightmarish government health care bureaucracy twenty years after its last Communist dictator was gunned down by his own people.
"The movie’s script follows the fictional Mr. Lazarescu as a Romanian government ambulance shuttles him from one government-owned hospital to the next. At the first three hospitals, although the doctors determine that he does need surgery, the government bureaucracy refuses to take him in because he is too old and does not have enough money to give baksheesh to the hospital personnel. Mr. Lazarescu stubbornly refuses to give up, but at the fourth hospital, the evil bureaucrats win — he dies after a delayed and botched surgery."

Rich Lowry confronts Rachael Maddow; why don't conservative candidates fight back at the liberal press like this?

Newt Gingrich of all the Republican candidates, was the only one who could be depended on to throw challenges back at the MSM. Are the Republicans afraid that these people won't like them if they stand up to them?

"She's touted by the liberal media as one of the brightest commentators on television, yet MSNBC's Rachel Maddow got thoroughly demolished by National Review editor Rich Lowry on Sunday's Meet the Press
"When continually asked by Lowry to defend the President's $700 billion Medicare cuts in ObamaCare, Maddow repeatedly refused making herself look tremendously foolish." ....

"Well, maybe if she had answered Lowry's simple question concerning whether or not she supports the $700 billion of Medicare cuts in ObamaCare she could look forward to praise for her appearance.
"Instead, by ducking the issue she exposed herself as a Democrat shill with no business anchoring a television show on a so-called "news network." "

Paul Ryan and the Obamedia Illustrated

Media Bias History Repeating Itself Against Romney-Ryan   "Bias: As powerful as Romney's choice of Paul Ryan is, the mainstream media's power — from moderating the debates to censoring interviews — is being wielded against it. Fortunately, Ryan has a potent weapon: the truth."

Christie to deliver keynote address at GOP convention

American Thinker "An excellent choice. Christie is not a bombthrower or name caller, but he is an extremely forceful, even combative speaker. And for you fans of red meat attacks, I'm sure he won't disappoint.
....
"It will also be announced today that Marco Rubio will introduce Mitt Romney prior to his acceptance speech. Those are two prime slots going to serious presidential contenders in 2016 if Romney is not elected. Of the two, the speech will be more important for Rubio who is not as well known as Christie. The Florida Senator needs to make a good impression with GOP voters and this high profile opportunity shouldn't be squandered."
