"The news that Paul Ryan has decided to place his name in the running for Speaker of the House is a good thing for the Republican Party. Ryan has the potential to unify the warring factions of the party; he has the trust of the vast majority of members; and he represents a new generation of leadership for the GOP, a party that has too often let hierarchical concerns win out over ability." . . .

"Hillary Clinton kept her composure throughout the testimony Thursday and she had extensive cover from the five Democratic members of the committee. A lot of good points were made but Hillary deflects well. She takes responsibility without taking responsibility.
"The GOP has not succeeded in bringing Hillary to account, in fact, when the media gets finished, she will come out looking good.
"It’s absolutely crazy that the Democrats spent the entire time protecting Hillary except for Rep. Duckworth who wanted to make sure processes were put in place to better protect our consulates in the future. It’s crazy that Hillary did not have a clue that the consulate should be better protected, that her “friend” Amb. Stevens pleaded for help, that she continues to lie about the video and pretend there is no contradiction, and finally it’s crazy that he might be our next president.
"The Democrats attacked the GOP for dragging this hearing out for over three years but fail to mention that the information and even witnesses were kept from the committee. The committee received Amb. Stevens’ emails two days ago.
"The government looks very corrupt and Hillary is the best liar out there." 1.HILLARY DIDN’T KNOW SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL DIDN’T WRITE THE EMAILS 2.THE LIBYAN WAR WAS HILLARY’S WAR 3. BLAMING CONGRESS 4. THE ARB 5. HILLARY WASN’T RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURITY 6. HILLARY SAID THE ATTACK WASN’T DUE TO A VIDEO "What Hillary said about the attack was very different from what she said in private. She blatantly lied, was caught lying but refused to admit it. The night of the attack, Clinton called the prime minister of Libya, explaining that Ansar al-Sharia had claimed responsibility. And in a call with Egyptian prime minister Hisham Kandil, Clinton deliberately rejected the video idea. “We know the attack had nothing to do with the film,” she says. “It was a planned attack, not a protest . . . Based on the information we saw today, we believe that the group that claimed responsibility for this was affiliated with al-Qaeda.” 7. THIS IS NOT A PROSECUTION More commentary and videos at the link.
Won't this anger those all-feeling independents? "And then it was the sycophantic, obfuscating Elijah Cummings’ turn, but not before Mrs. Clinton shot an ear-to-ear grin his way. Here’s a snippet, and just know that the entirety was more of the same ‘ol Vast Right Wing Conspiracy mantra we’ve come to expect from Mrs. Clinton’s Protection Squad:" . . .
. . . "Clinton referenced an Accountability Review Board that she cooperated with, as well as the fact that the Benghazi attack has been probed in seven prior investigations.
"But Gowdy, in his opening statement, sneered at the panel, noting that it did not even interview Clinton herself." . . .
Mother of Benghazi Victim Erupts at Hillary Clinton: ‘She’s Lying!’ CNN Newsroom host Carol Costello was taken aback when Patricia Smith revealed in conversation that she actually didn’t know much about what happened to her son — despite the fact that the Benghazi attack occurred three years ago. Smith responded in kind, claiming that although Clinton promised to “get back to” her following her son’s funeral ceremony in Washington, D.C., no one had since contacted her on the matter." . . .
. . . "But WikiLeaks defenders must answer this question: what precisely is so newsworthy that justifies blasting an innocent woman’s Social Security number out to the entire Internet? "That’s exactly what they’ve done. The most recent information dump WikiLeaks has thrust upon the Internet is the contents of CIA Director John Brennan‘s emails. One of the documents most heavily promoted by the site is a questionnaire given to applicants for all national security positions. Among the unredacted information in the document that anyone, anywhere can now view are:
Brennan’s address (everyone for the past thirty years, in fact)
His phone numbers
His passport number
His wife’s Social Security number, address, and phone numbers
His best friends’ addresses and phone numbers
The addressees of his daughter, his father, his mother, and his brother, his sister, and his father-in-law
. . .
"Now I don’t doubt that to some who support WikiLeaks, spitefully spreading personal information about our nation’s highest intelligence officer is justified, because he’s part of the eeeevil military-industrial complex, or because they have to fight the man, or because of some other juvenile tripe. But what the hell is served by doxxing innocent men and women whose only crime is loving a man you hate?" . . .
Wikileaks releases CIA chief's personal emails. . . "Hackers are low life scum and Wikileaks isn't much better for publishing clearly private emails that contain no information regarding Brennan's public duties or US policy. that the director hasn't said in public already.
"Peeping Toms like this hacker should be caught and spend 20 years in jail. forbidden to ever again own or use a computer. A few sentences like that and even teenagers out for a lark will think twice about violating the privacy of individuals.
Committee Democrats politicize Benghazi terrorist attack investigation "Politicoreports: At Correct The Record, a PAC that coordinates with Hillary Clinton's campaign, a war room of about 30 staffers will be on hand to defend Clinton and attack the committee as she heads to Capitol Hill Thursday to testify in front of the House Select Committee on Benghazi. "CNNreports: As part of a multi-front attack against the Republican-led Benghazi Select Committee, the super PAC backing Hillary Clinton's campaign will release a 140-page book of opposition research Wednesday, obtained exclusively by CNN, that impugns the character of Republicans on the committee."
Chairman Gowdy's Opening Statement . . . "I want you to take note during this hearing how many times congressional Democrats call on this administration to make long awaited documents available. They won't. Take note of how many witnesses congressional Democrats ask us to schedule for interview. They won't. We would be much closer to finishing this investigation and writing a final report if our Democrat colleagues decided to help us pursue the facts. If the Democrats on this committee had their way, dozens of witnesses never would have been interviewed, tens of thousands of documents never would have been reviewed, your public record would still be private, and we would never have accessed the emails of our Ambassador. All of that may be smart politics, but it is not the way to run a serious investigation. " . . .
Investors.com'Secretary of State John Kerry says that global warming skeptics should be disqualified from "high public office." By all means, Secretary Kerry, let's allow you to unilaterally set the eligibility requirements for elected officials. We'll just turn it all over to you and your astute judgment.
"Here's the gaseous statement that elicited our playground response, made Wednesday by Kerry from his Climate and Clean Energy Investment Forum, as recorded by Talk Radio News Service:
Full article here. "Actually, we don't mind if those who believe in man-made global warming hold office, as long as they came by their views honestly. What we do mind is believers using office to hector us all incessantly about our prosperous lifestyles, and enact policies that won't change Earth's temperature one bit but sure will overwhelm developed economies. The rest of us shouldn't have to pay the price of their opinions."
. . . "Although Joe is, to be polite, somewhat intellectually challenged and his integrity not always of the first tier (plagiarizing in law school?), the man had the unthreatening air of a conventional Democratic Party pol, sort of a much better-known and much more likable Martin O’Malley. He could have won.
"This leaves the Republicans battling Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. Hillary — no matter how she does in Thursday’s confrontation with the Benghazi committee (and she would have to have a full-bore nervous breakdown for the press to declare her the loser), the email situation is not going away. Because of a court order, her love letters from Sidney Blumenthal et al will be streaming out in doses for months to come. Who knows what’s in them? "And there’s Hillary’s much bigger worry — the FBI investigation. " . . . . . . "Whatever the case, Bernie’s old fogey version of socialism will go nowhere in a national election, just as socialism has gone nowhere as an economic system (evidently unbeknownst to Bernie, who still thinks the Scandinavian countries are socialist when they are doing everything in their power to free up their markets. Unfortunately, this may be too late for Sweden.) Obama's FBI? Really? You can't be serious?
"Effective: Stop dumping millions of low-wage workers on the country to drive down wages. America's booming, prosperous middle class arose in the 40-year period after immigration was virtually shut down in 1924 -- until Teddy Kennedy opened the floodgates to the Third World in 1965. " From this post.
Ann Coulter. . . "The principal result of Kemp's enterprise zones was to double HUD's budget.
"But Kemp, like his protege Ryan, was everything big corporations and Wall Street love in a Republican: He'd give them tax cuts, cheap labor and moral self-righteousness. Washington is full of these Kemparatchiks, churning out documents and admiring quotes about one another to willing reporters.
"The Kemp boys think they're a big hit with poor minorities -- especially Hispanics. Ryan, for example, is a huge supporter of driving down Hispanic wages by endlessly dumping low-wage workers on the country. Empowerment!
" Two years ago, Ryan bragged to a Catholic radio station: "I actually campaigned with Jack Kemp against a thing called Prop 187."
"Two years later, the Dole-Kemp ticket got only 21 percent of the Hispanic vote. That's worse than Romney! (These empowerment types really have their finger on the pulse of ethnic America!) " . . .
AP "Vice President Joe Biden will not run for president in 2016, he said Wednesday, ending a months-long flirtation with a third White House campaign and setting him on a glide path toward the end of his decades-long political career.
"Biden's decision finalizes the Democratic field of White House candidates and likely bolsters Hillary Rodham Clinton's standing as the front-runner by sparing her a challenge from the popular vice president.
" 'Unfortunately, I believe we're out of time," Biden said, flanked by President Barack Obama in the Rose Garden." . . . So there you have it. Biden will not be running for president in 2016. . . . "Biden then, (strangely, considering the context) delivered what was essentially a stump speech for his nonexistent campaign. He endorsed the idea of free college, raising taxes on the wealthy, increasing the childcare tax credit, and the need to reduce income inequality. "The vice president then took a small swipe at Hillary Clinton, repeating again the line that Republicans are not his enemies. In the Democratic debate, Clinton listed the GOP as the enemy she was proudest to have made in her career." Who can forget this shameful behavior of Biden?
"JOE BIDEN crazily smiles and laughs throughout his entire debate with PAUL RYAN. The vice-president rudely interrupted the congressman over 80 times."
By Rick Moran at American Thinker. . . "But to get rid of Gaddafi without a viable plan to replace him – and then pretend there was – is typical of the "leading from behind" that has characterized the president's foreign policy since he entered office. From Iraq, to Syria to Afghanistan, and in places like Yemen and Nigeria, where the U.S. is assisting in anti-terrorism operations, the president's failures are legion.
"Those failures should be Hillary's failures as well. But the media is of no mind to alter the narrative in order to tell the truth. Until they are, Clinton's tenure as secretary of state will be seen as an asset to her campaign rather than the liability it surely should be."
Middle School Principal Cancels Student Election BECAUSE TOO MANY WHITE KIDS WON . . . “This is complex, but as a parent and a principal, I truly believe it behooves us to be thoughtful about our next steps here so that we can have a diverse student council that is truly representative of all voices at Everett,” she told parents in an e-mail Thursday. "The response was immediate and at times vehement. Parents complained; students were angry. It appeared, some parents argued, that diversity was trumping democracy. "What’s wrong with white candidates? All of the Democrats running for president are white."

For the same reasons as McDonalds is making this move worldwide, these businesses
simply cannot afford to operate and pay your demanded minimum wage of $15 per hour
plus benefits to their workers/servers!
"Got any other bright ideas Mr. Obama?" And Pelosi.
Which is better: 5 people working for $8 an hour or one person working for $15 an hour?

Students supporting Thomas Jefferson statue accused of white privilege, ‘defending slave owners’ . . . "Skyler Roundtree, chair of the university’s College Republicans, said in a news release explaining his group’s motives that “we have decided to take a stand with Jefferson, not only in that the recent claims made against him lack truth, but also in that we realize that we are living in a time where our society has begun to sacrifice morals and traditions only to be politically correct.' ”
