Putin and politics behind Obama's decision to send troops to Syria; "Corrupt and Immoral"

How must our troops feel being in harm's way when their own commander-in-chief does not believe in what he has sent them to do?

Foreign Policy

Putin and Politics Are Behind Obama’s Decision to Send Troops to Syria

"Vladimir Putin ordered U.S. troops into combat in Syria on Friday. That’s not what White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said when explaining the decision to send as many as 50 special operations forces into a training, assistance, and advisory role in that country, but that’s the reality. If the Russian president hadn’t made his move into Syria, the United States would not have felt compelled to finally, belatedly, shore up support for anti-Islamic State and anti-Assad allies in that embattled, long-suffering country.

"How do we know that? The past three years are how we know that. Those years have been a period during which the president’s own top national security advisors were unable to get him to take more decisive action to stop the decay in Syria — which gave way to the upheaval that now fuels not only the rise of the world’s most dangerous extremists but also the overflow of refugees into Europe and neighboring countries in the Middle East. But Putin, apparently, has more sway in the Oval Office than Hillary Clinton, Bob Gates, Leon Panetta, David Petraeus, and a host of others whose counsel went unheeded ever did." . . .

Obama's Corrupt and Immoral Abuse of the Military
. . . "This is not a comment on his circumvention of Congress, which is something that most modern American presidents have done at one time or another with respect to military engagements abroad.  Rather, in Obama's case – uniquely in American history – we have a president who puts Americans in harm's way for no evident reason other than personal political calculations." . . .

ISIS Downs Russian Jet, Putin Gets BRUTAL Revenge That Obama Never Would
. . . "According to the latest claims, it seems that Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to enact quite the devastating revenge, and it’s been a long time coming. “Citing its right to protect its people and interests in Russia and abroad, Intelligence officials have anonymously reported that Russia is moving its tactical nuclear units closer to its international boundaries and its frontier with other hotspots within Russia, such as the northern Caucasus region,” Live Leak reports. Yes, you read that right – Putin is set to nuke ISIS."

Obamacare sticker shock: premiums to spike 20%

Forecast counters feds' 'misleading' predictions

Obamacare premium are soaring much higher than feds predicted.

"Obamacare premium costs are going to surge by 20.3 percent on average in 2016, a massive hike that counters the much more modest 7.5 percent increase predicted by feds."

"As the Daily Caller reported: “The discrepancy is because the government excluded price data for three of the four Obamacare health insurance plans when the officials issued their recent forecast claiming enrollees would face only a 7.5 percent average rate increase in 2016. When data for all four plans are included, premium costs will actually rise on average 20.3 percent next year.”

"For comparison purposes, Obamacare costs in 2015 rose only two percent.

"The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Medicare Services, the entity that oversees Obamacare, miscalculated the degree of price hikes because officials failed to include data for the Bronze, Gold and Platinum plans. They only based estimates using data for the Silver plan, which is what the IRS uses as a “benchmark” program for tax purposes, the Daily Caller reported.e 20 percent increase was discovered during an analysis by the Daily Caller News Foundation. And it comes as open enrollment for Obamacare has just kicked off.

Attention warmist alarmists: ice in Antarctica is increasing. You are surprised there are skeptics?

Inquisitr  "A new Antarctic ice sheet study from NASA yielded surprising data results, and the findings contradict the conclusion of a previous report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). As reported by Tech Times, the study shows that increased accumulation of snow in Antarctica, which began 10,000 years ago, is continuing to increase the amount of ice on the continent, and compensates for the loss of glaciers. The research is significant because it challenges the findings of a number of studies, including those cited by the IPCC. The IPCC report from 2013 says that the Antarctic land ice is declining.

"According to satellite data, the Antarctic ice sheet shows a clear increase of 112 billion tons of ice annually from 1992 to 2001, while the total loss between 2003 and 2008 was only 82 billion tons. Jay Zwally, a glaciologist with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, and lead author of the study, issued the following statement regarding the study." . . .Read more at the link

"Hillary Clinton appears to have overcome an investigation of her role in the 2012 deadly attacks in Benghazi, Libya, but she still faces a months-long FBI inquiry into the handling of sensitive information while she was secretary of state.
"The FBI’s Counterintelligence Division, which opened its review this summer after classified information was found in emails transmitted over Clinton’s private email server, is under pressure to act quickly, as Clinton is in the midst of running for the Democratic nomination for president in 2016.

"But most who spoke to McClatchy say it’s unlikely the former first lady, senator and Cabinet secretary will face charges because of her high profile and the hurdle to prove she knew the emails contained classified information when she sent them to others." . .  .

Larest emails damage Hillary's excuse about security concerns

Latest emails put the lie to Hillary's excuse for ignoring pleas for Benghazi security
"One of the more nauseating aspects (and there is a lot of competition) of the scandalous behavior of Hillary Clinton in the wake of the Benghazi attack was the manner in which she affected a close relationship with “Chris” Stevens, the ambassador sent to do her bidding who was brutally tortured and murdered because she didn’t have any interest in his pleas for extra security.  She maintained in her testimony to the Gowdy Committee that such matters don’t reach her desk.

"Yet the latest batch of emails released in a Friday-afternoon document dump reveals that that is not true.  Nick Gass, Josh Gerstein, and Rachel Bade write in Politico:
. . .

When Republicans tried to buttonhole Clinton because State declined numerous requests for additional security at the Benghazi compound that was later over-run, Clinton largely waved them off. Those requests for more protection, she argued several times that day, went to people who deal with security — not her, personally.
One email from April 23, 2009, however, shows top State aide Huma Abedin updating Clinton on a few embassy security issues. In a series of bullet points sent to “H2” at 8:34 a.m., Abedin listed steps State was taking to secure Afghanistan and Pakistan embassies, including “increasing the number of hooches, and doubling up staff in lodging.”

Why Liberals Identify With Criminals

American Thinker
"Liberals hate cops, honest citizens with guns, and hard sentencing laws because liberals identify with criminals.
When visiting a Federal prison Obama summarized the view of liberals when he said:

“These are young people who made mistakes that aren’t that different than the mistakes I made and the mistakes that a lot of you guys made."
. . .
"But worst of all, a person who views the police as the bad guys will buy into the lie of the Black Lives Matter movement that cops are killing people for no good reason. That in turn leads to lack of interest on their part concerning the safety of police.

"In the end, liberal identification with criminals leads to the police knowing that the politicians don’t have their backs and to a reduction in effective crime control. It’s not an accident that liberals disagree with Giuliani’s “Broken Window” policing philosophy, since liberals don’t seem to care about the victims of “petty” crimes.

"We need to tell the American people, our friends and neighbors, the truth that liberals aren’t like honest folk instead liberals identify with criminals and therefore support laws that favor criminals over victims and society.

"It’s time to realize that liberals are rooting for the wrong side in the war on crime."

National Police Union Calls for Total Tarantino Boycott

The Wrap via Drudge

"The police boycott of Quentin Tarantino‘s “The Hateful Eight” has received the endorsement of the National Association of Police Organizations — a group representing 1,000 police units and associations and over 241,000 sworn law enforcement officers.

"Not only does the organization support the protesting unions — which has spread to including cops in New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, New Jersey, Chicago and Philadelphia — it is discouraging police officers from engaging in promotional efforts and any future productions that routinely need the assistance of law enforcement, even for off-duty work.

“ 'We ask officers to stop working special assignments or off-duty jobs, such as providing security, traffic control or technical advice for any of Tarantino’s projects,” a statement on NAPO’s website said." . . .

Krauthammer: Skip the Investigations and win the election

Charles Krauthammer
"At a certain point, you have to realize you can’t hit a fastball.

"House Republicans don’t quite get that they are hopeless at oversight hearings. They keep losing — and now the chairman of the House Oversight Committee has just introduced articles of impeachment against IRS Commissioner John Koskinen.

"I’m sympathetic to the GOP motive, given how the Obama IRS has consistently obstructed and misled Congress in the tax-exemption scandal. But impeachment is no ordinary move. No agency chief or Cabinet officer has been impeached since 1876. And even proponents admit there is no chance of Koskinen being removed from office because the Senate will never convict.

"Instead, says Chairman Jason Chaffetz, the purpose is public education, “to demonstrate to the American people” that the IRS “will be held accountable” for violating the public trust.

"I’m all for demonstrating malfeasance. But the GOP House has given a five-year display of its inability to demonstrate anything. From Benghazi all the way back to Operation Fast and Furious, its hearings’ impact on public perception has been either zero or negative." . . .

Every day teachers in many schools must face "gentle giants"

"The liberal mainstream media has repeatedly tried this year to depict black kids as innocent angels — “gentle giants,” if you will — who allegedly face a nonstop barrage of racism, discrimination and abuse at the hands of teachers, security guards and police officers."

"Today, I dare to call B-------- on this false narrative and expose the truth about black kids by sharing the types of videos you would typically find on Colin Flaherty’s YouTube page, which I highly recommend you bookmark, by the way:"

""Here’s the thing. These sorts of attacks occur all the time at schools, universities, malls, fairgrounds, etc., and while many bad kids exist, race notwithstanding, only one race of people continually goes out of its way to excuse the surly conduct of its worst-behaving tykes.
. . . And so the cycle of black kids acting out and then sometimes getting justifiably punished for their behavior continues indefinitely, with every iteration pushing liberals to argue even harder that the alleged “gentle giants” known as black kids deserve a break from rightful discipline.  . . .

Channel 9 News reports: "A Zellwood Elementary School student was arrested for attacking her teacher, according to Orange County investigators. Miesha Bryant is 10 years old, but she's already charged with felony battery for what happened at her school. WFTV spoke with Bryant and her mother, Sebrina Bryant. "Did she need to be arrested?" WFTV reporter Daralene Jones asked Sebrina Bryant. "No. No. No," she said. "I was shocked, devastated." Sebrina Bryant said she was furious. She said her fifth-grade daughter was just as innocent as she looked in her mug shot. But Bryant was arrested and charged with a felony for allegedly hitting a teacher."

Perhaps CNBC will be nominated for next week's Weasel of the Week*

CNBC Debate

" . . .means more people than ever watched the cringe-worthy performance. Sources said the moderators knew they had the opportunity to challenge GOP contenders and potentially change the course of the entire race, but after the dust settled, everyone at the network apparently wanted a “do-over” because they knew they took things too far.

“ 'Everyone feels pretty embarrassed,” one veteran staffer said.

. . . "Not that they fooled anyone. With hilariously biased, condescending, and argumentative questions the three moderators accomplished the impressive feat of largely unifying the candidates, the studio audience, and the viewing public - all of whom agree that transparent liberal bias has made a mockery of what used to be an honorable profession." . . .
. . .  "Democrat front runner Hillary Clinton had the appalling lack of taste to tweet an animated GIF taken from the Benghazi hearings as her reaction.  It shows her smugly brushing imaginary crumbs from her shoulder, as if to say that dealing with any GOP opponent will be as easy for her as ducking responsibility for four American deaths." . . .

Uniting against the common enemy  . . . "There comes a time in the life of a collection of people when they become a group, even if only temporarily—even a group of people that’s pitted against each other in competition, like the candidates last night. If you give them a common enemy against which to unite, they sometimes become a group, and that’s what happened Wednesday evening." . . .

John Kasich alone said the moderators did a good job  Since he doesn't see himself being the GOP candidate, maybe he hopes for a job with CNBC. John Fund writes:

This year, it’s no secret who the media likes. A CNBC profile of Kasich in September wasn’t subtle. Its headline was “Is John Kasich the GOP Media Darling Who Could Finally Win?” CNBC noted that the three candidates — McCain, Huntsman, and Kasich — all had the same consultant for their White House bids. He’s John Weaver, a moderate Republican who has described his party as “a bunch of cranks.” Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin told CBS last month that Kasich is “the media’s favorite candidate, and that is a dirty little secret.” As Kasich proved after the CNBC debate, the admiration is mutual.

Weasel of the Week; the obvious choice

Nice Deb

"Yes, once again, It’s time to present this week’s statuette of shame, The Golden Weasel!!

"Every Tuesday, the Council nominates some of the slimiest, most despicable characters in public life for some deed of evil, cowardice or corruption they’ve performed. Then we vote to single out one particular Weasel for special mention, to whom we award the statuette of shame, our special, 100% plastic Golden Weasel. This week’s nominees were particularly slimy and despicable, but the votes are in and we have our winner…the envelope please…

Democrat Front Runner Hillary Clinton!

"Indeed, how could you beat Mrs. Clinton’s performance last week? It does indeed take a special kind of human being to knowingly lie to the entire country and to the grieving families of four dead Americans literally over their coffins. And all just to cover for Barack Obama and get him re-elected.

"A number of Mrs. Clinton’s friends and minions in the media referred to her performance as a ‘triumph’ and a ‘win.’ In actuality, the fact that she’s unlikely to face any cost or punishment for her behavior or her illegal server and destruction of documents that were by law all supposed to be turned over when she left office is a major defeat..for the country. It always is, whenever a nation’s standard of justice, integrity and trust in public officials is compromised.

"That includes the partisan Democrats on the Benghazi committee as well as the media. When ranking members of an investigating committee set up by congress contemptuously break House rules and openly leak what was supposed to be closed door testimony to the media in order to undermine it, there’s not much more to be said." . . .
