10 Reasons Americans Are Voting For A Socialist

"In many cases, Bernie Sanders may actually be a rational (progressive voter’s) choice."

The Federalist  . . . "From the outside, it may all look radical, or even loony, to conservatives. After all, calling Sanders a socialist isn’t about hurling a twentieth-century epithet. It’s a term Sanders proudly uses to describe himself.
"Bernie is obviously not someone conservatives would ever choose, but it’s always worth trying to understand your political adversaries. As someone who’s always lived amongst people currently debating whether to vote for Bernie or Hillary, I submit that in many cases, Bernie may actually be a rational (progressive voter’s) choice. Here’s a list of 10 reasons why:  (Each item listed is discussed in the article linked)

1. Bernie’s the Protest Vote  "If you simply don’t like Hillary, because she’s an uninspiring retread, or because you are troubled by her endless scandals, Bernie is Plan B."

2. Voters Should Matter . . .

3. Trust and Authenticity Are Appealing . . .

4. Viva la RevoluciĆ³n . . .

5. The Economy Tanked . . .

6. Socialism Doesn’t Scare You I give you more details on this one:  "Younger voters don’t have strong negative associations with socialism. They missed the Cold War. What they know of socialism is likely what they’ve learned from admiring college professors; socialism probably just sounds like one more reasonable choice on the menu of government models."

7. The Church of ‘None’ Suits Millennials . . .

8. Voters Dislike Threats . . .   . . .“ 'There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other!' ”  . . .

9. The Second Wave Has Passed . . .

10. Bernie Embraces Humor . . .

This interview is with a young voter who (whom?) I'd say is one of those discussed above.

Documents Reveal US Army Indoctrinated Soldiers on Dangers of ‘White Privilege’

legalinsurrection.com/
Judicial Watch  "Judicial Watch announced today that it obtained documents from the United States Department of the Army revealing that in April 2015, 400 soldiers in the 67th Signal Battalion at Fort Gordon, Georgia, were subjected to a “white privilege” briefing, including a PowerPoint presentation instructing the attendees: “Our society attaches privilege to being white and male and heterosexual …”

"The slideshow also informed the soldiers: “Race privilege gives whites little reason to pay a lot of attention to African Americans.” It alleged that there are unspecified “powerful forces everywhere” keeping different kinds of people from being valued, accepted, and appreciated, but “we act as if it doesn’t exist.” This alleged privilege creates a “yawning divide” in income, wealth, and dignity.  The material described a mythical African woman who isn’t aware that she’s black until she comes to America, encounters “white racism” and discovers the U.S. is “organized according to race.”

"The Department of the Army documents were obtained in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking: . . ."

. . . Judicial Watch previously obtained Defense Department equal opportunity training materials that depict conservative organizations as “hate groups” and advise students to be aware that “many extremists will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.”  And last month, Judicial Watch uncovered Air Force Academy documents that show how the Academy used its “Chapel Tithes and Offering Fund” to pay for cadets to participate in worship services featuring witchcraft, “Faery Magick,” and voodoo.

Outrageous – that is the only word to describe this type of raw racist indoctrination,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.  “The Obama administration undermines the morale of our military with morally repugnant ‘equal opportunity training’ that makes many soldiers feel unwelcome because they are the wrong sex, race, religion or aren’t part of a politically correct group.” . . .

The Legends of "Kilroy Was Here"

Kilroywashere.org Yes, he has his own site! I remember as a boy in the late 1940s seeing these scrawled on surfaces; in fact I recall drawing a few myself while not having any idea what it meant. TD

"There was one person who led or participated in every combat, training or occupation operation during WWII and the Korean War. This person could always be depended on. GI's began to consider him the "super GI." He was one who always got there first or who was always there when they left. I am, of course, referring to Kilroy Was Here. Somehow, this simple graffiti captured the imagination of GI's everywhere they went. The scribbled cartoon face and words showed up everywhere - worldwide. Stories (some even true) abound.

"Legend #1: This Legend of how "Kilroy was here" starts is with James J. Kilroy, a shipyard inspector during WWII. He chalked the words on bulkheads to show that he had been there and inspected the riveting in the newly constructed ship. To the troops in those ships, however, it was a complete mystery — all they knew for sure was that he had "been there first." As a joke, they began placing the graffiti wherever they (the US forces) landed or went, claiming it was already there when they arrived. . .

Hot Mic Catches MSNBC Reporter Telling Clinton Campaign What Question to Expect

Never trust any network with NBC in their name.

When reporters don’t know they’re on the air… She gives Palmieri a warning about the Flint, Michigan question coming up.

""Never change, MSNBC.
"After Sunday night’s CNN Democratic debate, MSNBC reporter Kristen Welker either could not or did not hear studio anchor Ari Melber telling her she was live and on the air. Unbeknownst to Welker, her mic was on, which allowed the entire broadcast audience to hear Welker feeding questions to Jen Palmieri, Hillary Clinton’s Campaign Director of Communication."

NOT FROM THE ONION: Peaceful memorial rally in Ann Arbor honors lives of 63 deer killed
"Four dozen peace activists gathered Saturday afternoon in downtown Ann Arbor for a memorial rally honoring the lives of 63 deer recently killed by hired sharpshooters in the city's parks and nature areas.
"The mood was somber, and hearts heavy."
But know that they are all very nice people.

"That is, white people do understand poverty, but to be truly poor, you need to couple that lack of money with a sense of desperation and the continual threat posed by white police officers."
Every word Democrats speak divides this nation and creates anger.

E! series 'I Am Cait' pulls in just 745,000 viewers on Sunday night."Sunday's episode of I Am Cait brought in 745,000 viewers and 0.3 rating among adults 18-49. For its total audience, that's down more than 500,000 from its freshman finale — and nearly 2 million off from the series launch."

Obama To Skip Nancy Reagan’s Funeral, Attend Entertainment Festival Instead. Well, that's where his posse is.

He skipped out on Justice Scalia’s funeral, why would he even bother with Nancy Reagan?
Explain it to me again because I'm just not catching it; how is Obama's approval rating so high? Why is he considered well-liked and by what sort of people? TD

"President Barack Obama will not attend Nancy Reagan’s funeral this Friday, and will instead be in Austin, Texas for the annual South by Southwest festival.
"His wife, Michelle, will be present at the funeral.
"Following the former first lady’s death Monday, Obama said, “As somebody who is lucky enough to have an extraordinary partner in my life as well, I know how much she meant not just to President Reagan but to the country as a whole.”
"The South by Southwest festival includes film, music, and technology conferences. On Friday, there will be film festival screenings, including for the new Peewee Herman movie, and SXSW comedy.
"Obama will deliver a keynote address, urging “the audience to apply their ideas and talents in working with technology for future world issues.' ” . . .

Weasel Of The Week Nominees! – 03/08/16

http://i2.wp.com/c1.staticflickr.com/1/89/256833910_dc5e794df2.jpg?w=540&ssl=1Noisy Room  "It’s time once again for the Watcher’s Council’s ‘Weasel Of The Week’ nominations, where we pick our choices to compete for the award of the famed Golden Weasel to a public figure who particularly deserves to be slimed and mocked for his or her dastardly deeds during the week. Every Tuesday morning, tune in for the Weasel of the Week nominations!
"Here are this weeks’ nominees…
Failed GOP Candidate Mitt Romney!!
Mitt Romney Falls Apart When Pressed On His Previous Support For Donald Trump
"The Noisy Room: My nomination this week goes to Mitt Romney. Romney really stepped in it over Donald Trump. Sean Hannity came out and slammed him on being willing to maul someone in his own party, but wasn’t willing to go after Barack Obama. There are a couple of reasons for that. One, none of the weenies in the GOP dare to go after someone who is black. They are terrified of being called racist." . . .
"Trump is a Frankenstein of the GOP’s own making. Romney’s lambasting of him was disgraceful and showed the true face of Republican elitists. If we have a two-faced weasel, it should go to Romney."

Bowdoin College!

"The Daley Gator: Bowdoin College for punishing students for hav[ing] a tequila-themed party. Pretty weaselly!
"Well, there it is. What despicable Weasels… EITHER OF THEM COULD WIN! Check back Thursday to see which Weasel walks off with the statuette of shame!"
I'd say it will be Romney. Who else would have thought of Bowdoin College over this?

What Bryan Pagliano will sing about

Thomas Lifson  . . . "My guess is that Huma, who has dedicated her life to ingratiating herself with Hillary and who comes from a family dedicated to the Long Jihad of the Muslim Brotherhood, will go to jail rather than testify.  Cheryl Mills has very long history with Clinton and may also clam up.  That leaves Sullivan, and I have no insight into his stance.  But if Pagliano offers evidence that he violated the law, and if the FBI forensic team has recovered the deleted emails and tech steps taken with them, the evidence against him could be sufficient to dangle a long prison term before him as the alternative to spilling his guts.

"I agree with Jonathan F. Keiler and Daniel John Sobieski that the odds are that we will see an FBI effort to prosecute Hillary, and that all political calculations about the election may have to be thrown out, even if the DoJ and Obama decline to prosecute.  Babbin also sees:
I am not yet so cynical as to believe that FBI Director James Comey and his team won’t demand that Clinton and her aides be indicted. It may come down to them threatening to resign loudly if those indictments aren’t forthcoming.
This all sounds plausible, but then I lean toward pessimism.  I fear high hopes leading to a big let-down.

RATTING OUT HILLARY.  Will Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills, and Jake Sullivan join Bryan Pagliano in an immunity plea?
. . . "The Wall Street Journal’s James Taranto wrote last week about the odd lack of dissent among pols and pundits from the assumption that the Justice Department wouldn’t allow Clinton to be indicted purely on political grounds. As I have written before, that assumption is almost certainly false. Pagliano’s immunity agreement is a strong indication that several people, almost certainly including Clinton, will be indicted.

"Let’s not let anyone kid us. Ask yourself when was the last time one hundred and fifty FBI special agents spent many months on an investigation only to conclude that there wasn’t anything to prosecute, that they’d just sigh deeply and go home?" . . .

WATCH: Michelle Malkin Delivers BRUTAL Message at CPAC That Has GOP Elites Seething

Clash Daily
"Michelle Malkin issued a scathing rebuke to GOP elites in her speech at CPAC. This is a must see and a must share.
"Conservative author and commentator Michelle Malkin delivered remarks on the states of conservatism, the Republican party, and the 2016 presidential field. She focused on the need for conservatives to pick candidates who will stick to their principles, and criticized several Republicans for softening their policy positions once reaching office. Cal Thomas: Razzle-dazzling ourselves

Liberals have exploited race and class for political advantage, deepening the divide between whites and blacks (and increasingly Hispanics), as well as the three classes—poor, middle class, and wealthy.

World  . . . "How do you explain the rise of Donald Trump? Look no further than the culture beast that is primarily responsible for the fundamental transformation of America, as President Obama once put it.

. . .
"We have an education system that doesn't educate. Television spews out "reality shows" that have nothing to do with reality. Judges issue rulings that conform more to opinion polls than the Constitution.
"The strangest behavior is trotted out as the next civil rights movement and anyone who says "no" is branded a bigot. Many fallen nations collapsed not from war but from moral rot.
"We are consuming the intellectual equivalent of Pop-Tarts in a pop culture age, rather than food for the mind that produces sound reasoning and wise choices.
"It should not surprise anyone that such self-focus has fueled the rise of Donald Trump as a presidential candidate.
"On the other side of the political fence, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton feed into the entitlement mentality that the government exists to give you stuff and take care of you. Liberals have exploited race and class for political advantage, deepening the divide between whites and blacks (and increasingly Hispanics), as well as the three classes—poor, middle class, and wealthy. Clinton’s Laughable Claim: Petraeus Offense Was Worse

Of course, Hillary's words must be taken with a "willing suspension of disbelief"..

The warrior who must address Hillary as "Ma'am":

Andrew C. McCarthy  . . . "Now with Pagliano apparently poised to cooperate with the FBI, the claim that Mrs. Clinton is not a criminal suspect is untenable. So Clinton and her supporters are changing tack: instead of implausibly insisting there is no crime to investigate, they argue that there is no crime worth prosecuting.

"This narrative was first floated a few months ago. The story goes like this: retired General David Petraeus, the former CIA director, committed a classified information offense that -- according to Clintonistas -- was far more serious than Mrs. Clinton’s conduct, yet Petraeus was permitted to plead guilty to a single misdemeanor count. Ergo, a prosecution of Mrs. Clinton over her comparatively minor misconduct cannot be justified.

"When Camp Clinton first began spinning its Petraeus yarn, I explained that it relies on Anne M. Tompkins, the former U.S. attorney for western North Carolina who oversaw the prosecution against the general. Tompkins, who just happens to be a Hillary Clinton donor, exploits the aura of authority from her obvious familiarity with the Petraeus case to suggest that she is a reliable source on Clinton case -- which she dutifully portrays as weak. " . . .

Significant Civil War-Era Shipwreck Discovered Off N.C. Coast

Heritage Daily   "Another pearl in the form of a large iron-hulled Civil War era steamer has been discovered in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of N.C., near Oak Island. Researchers and archaeologists from the Underwater Archaeology Branch of the North Carolina Office of State Archaeology and the Institute of International Maritime Research made the discovery Saturday, Feb. 27 during sonar operations.
The vessel is believed to possibly be the remains of one of three blockade runners used to penetrate the wall of Union naval vessels blocking the port of Wilmington during the Civil War.

Popular Science reports
Civil War Shipwreck
Popular Science
. . . "Three blockade runners are known to have been lost in that area: the Agnes E. FrySpunkie and Georgianna McCaw. The Union blockade was nicknamed the 'Anaconda Plan' and designed to choke off supply lines to the Confederacy during the height of the war. Ships, including steam ships and sailing vessels tried to bypass the blockade, usually at night and at high speeds.
"It's not yet known how this particular vessel sunk, but it is far from alone in its watery grave. At least 53 blockade-running ships were lost in the area near Cape Fear during the Civil War. Then there are the sunken pirate ships, World War II vessels, and all the hapless crafts that have given this area off North Carolina the nickname the Graveyard of the Atlantic." . . .
