Joe Scarborough: Attacking Trump Is 'What We Do' (Video at the link)

MRC  "After insisting for months that President Trump has been undermining one of America’s most vital institutions with his attacks on the news media, the hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe briefly dropped their act. On Tuesday, host Joe Scarborough admitted that as a member of the media, attacking Trump is just “what we do.”

"Scarborough and fellow co-host Mika Brzezinski have had a tumultuous relationship with the President, and indeed their largely favorable treatment of him during the 2016 primaries now seems almost impossible to imagine. But the relationship between Trump and the news media in general has been unprecedentedly vicious since he declared his presidential run in July of 2015.
"On rare occasions, the media have shown their hand and admitted to their vehement anti-Trump bias. One particularly notable example was Jim Rutenberg’s New York Times article published in August of 2016, which described a Trump presidency as “potentially dangerous” and admitted the Times’s “reporting [would] reflect that.” However, Scarborough and Brzezinski have consistently maintained that their coverage of the President has been both fair and honest.
"That all went out the window on Tuesday. In a segment about President Trump’s response over the weekend to Robert Mueller’s recent indictment of Russian saboteurs, Scarborough appeared dumbfounded that the President was still affected by the media’s unfair treatment of him.
“ 'Like, how could you be shocked, if you were Donald Trump, that the media is going to say negative things about you?” he wondered aloud, evidently baffled that the President had not yet made his peace with media bias. He added with a smirk, “It’s like a Geico ad. It’s what we do.' ” . . .

Let's talk about gun control, shall we?

After Sandy Hook, I hated guns and my emotions cried for them to all disappear; the image of terrified children being, well, you all know.
But we know, too, that peaceful people and shop owners - the Korean store owners during the LA riots protecting their businesses comes to mind - will be the first to lose their protection. Those with children serving as policemen would dread the thought of them entering dangerous areas of cities like Chicago to try taking those guns away.
This nation has a myriad of evil people with guns who have no qualms about killing others because of the color of their skin or their clothes, their politics, their shoes, or, well, just because it's a certain day of the week.
I cannot help but blame the liberal left (redundant, perhaps) for creating a society  where we need weapons to protect ourselves and knowing now they want to take away that protection.
Tell me again why the coach / security guard in the school at Parkland had no gun. The Tunnel Dweller

Did the Progressive 'Broward County Solution' Cost 17 Student Lives?
" 'We're not compromising school safety.  We're really saving the lives of kids," boasted Michaelle Valbrun-Pope, executive director of Student Support Initiatives for Broward County Public Schools, in August 2017.

"Valbrun-Pope was referring to what an article by Jeffrey Benzing in Public Source calls the "Broward County Solution."  As Benzing relates, Broward County used to lead the state of Florida in sending students to the state's juvenile justice system.  County leaders responded with a perfectly progressive solution: "lower arrests by not making arrests.' " . . .
. . . In July 2012, the Obama administration formalized the pressure on school districts with an executive order warning school districts to avoid "methods that result in disparate use of disciplinary tools."  . . .
. . . "A secondary motive was to protect Obama's misbegotten quest to achieve racially statistical "equity" for youthful offenders by not arresting them for very real crimes."
And Democrats think "President" Kamala Harris won't give us more of this?

All the Laws in the World Aren’t Going to Cut It  Just a bit of philosophical ruminating .

Democrats Rush to Politicize Florida School Shooting  And while the bodies of the victims were still warm and many parents of victims were still . . . "awaiting news about their children, Democrats, predictably, began calling for limits on gun ownership and blaming Republicans for the violence that ensued at the school.
"Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) was first out of the box, slamming Republicans for not passing legislation to prevent individuals on the terrorist watch list from purchasing guns. He called for a "debate" on gun control." . . .

Texas Sheriff Who Trains Teachers to Carry Guns: “Day of Doing Nothing is Over” . . . "After the shooting in Parkland, Florida, many people are saying we have to “do something” but few people know exactly what that is. One school system in Argyle, Texas decided to make changes after Sandy Hook. They dedicated a police force to their schools and began training teachers to carry guns.
"Sheriff Paul Cairney of Argyle appeared recently on MSNBC and explained how it works." . . .
We are going to see more of this approach. A Republican congressman from Colorado named Patrick Neville is a survivor of the 1999 shooting at Columbine High School. He is pushing for more concealed carry in schools.

The Russians are coming! . . . Well, er, maybe not.

Media Start To Second-Guess Trump-Russia ‘Collusion’ Conspiracy Theory
. . . "NBC News published what the network hyped as a “potential bombshell” in September, claiming that Manafort’s notes from the Trump Tower meeting contained a “cryptic” reference to donations in relation to the Republican National Committee (RNC). The story quickly fell apart."

CNN Reporter Literally Goes Dumpster Diving For Collusion Evidence In St. Petersburg  " . . . CNN is doubling down on its coverage of possible collusion between the Kremlin and the Trump campaign.

Guilty Plea in another Mueller Process Crime prosecution unrelated to Trump Campaign or Russian Meddling  . . . "Mueller claims Van Der Zwaan lied about his communications with former Trump campaign adviser Rick Gates and with someone else only identified as Person A and deleted emails that his office requested concerning a report from 2012 with Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice." . . .

Feds face new demands to probe Hillary Clinton . . . "The complaints focus on the “sham Clinton investigation” concerning her use of an unauthorized and unsecured computer server for the nation’s classified secrets while Hillary Clinton was U.S. secretary of state, and the Uranium One scandal, when millions of dollars came from Russia to the Clinton Foundation just as she was on a committee authorizing Russian ownership of uranium assets.
“ 'The first lawsuit is against four agencies: the Department of State, Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and U.S. Treasury Department. In this suit, we are seeking to obtain documents concerning a decision by the Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States (CFIUS) to transfer the U.S.’s controlling interest in Uranium One to the Russian state-owned ARMZ – a wholly owned subsidiary of the Russian nuclear giant, Rosatom,” the ACLJ explained." . . .
Judge Napolitano Weighs in On General Flynn Indictment: “Judge Sullivan Must Suspect a Defect in Guilty Plea”  "Judge Nap says Judge Sullivan must suspect a defect in General Flynn’s guilty plea.
Judge Napolitano: So Mike Flynn pleads guilty. A new judge comes in. It’s time for sentencing. Bob Mueller delays sentencing until May. That’s normal. You have a cooperating witness. You don’t want to sentence him until after the cooperation is finished. And then the judge on his own, not in response to any application from General Flynn’s lawyer says, “By the way I want all exculpatory evidence.” Evidence that could help Flynn or hurt the government to be turned over to Flynn’s lawyers. Why would we want that when General Flynn has already pleaded guilty. That is unheard of. He must suspect a defect in the guilty plea. Meaning, he must have reason to believe General Flynn pleaded guilty for some reason other than guilt. Do people plead guilty for a reason other than guilt? (Yes.)… So now the question arises: Was he guilty? Did he lie to the FBI? Did the FBI agents who interviewed him, one of them who was Peter Strzok believe that he lied or did he say, ‘We don’t see anything wrong.’… We don’t know the answers to that. But it may very well come out that as a result of Judge Sullivan, a very courageous federal judge in DC, ordering this information to be reviewed.

Rush: 'Reason Hillary Isn’t Charged Is Because...Obama Would Have to Be Exposed'

CNS  "Speaking with host Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, radio pundit Rush Limbaugh said the real reason the liberal politicians and media won’t stop accusing President Donald Trump of colluding with Russia is that they want to protect Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

"Now that the dubious methods and motives behind the warrant used to spy on the campaign are being exposed, the left is desperate to distract the public from, and cloak any culpability and knowledge of misdeeds by Clinton and Obama, Limbaugh said:
“ 'I think this is all politics and, Chris, it hasn’t changed from the get-go. It is about protecting Hillary – and Obama.
“ 'Obama is the primary person being protected, because all of this spying and all of the collusion to destroy Trump happened with his knowledge and, probably, encouragement.
“ 'And the reason Hillary isn’t charged is because that would mean Obama would have to be exposed as participating in this scheme, too.' ”

SICK! Jim Carrey Tweets to Teen Survivor Graphic Cartoon of School Massacre With Anti-Trump Message

The Gateway Pundit   "Actor-comedian Jim Carrey created an anti-Trump work of ‘art’ showing bloody bodies of dead students killed in the Parkland, Florida, school massacre and tweeted it to a teen student survivor of the attack."

"The image shows President Donald Trump in silhouette on a golf course before a fairway littered with bloody bodies of children. Trump is shown yelling, “What’s wrong with these kids? Didn’t they hear me yell, FORE!”
"Carrey added the Twitter message with the handle for student surivor and now activist Cameron Kasky, “It’s President’s Day and Chief Little Hands has been busy tweeting from his golf resort, a chip shot away from the latest bloody school shooting. He was hoping to play a few holes while grieving families are busy digging them. I support @cameron_kasky #neveragain' ”.
Mr. Carrey, are you aware that President Trump was more respectful than you claim? Certainly more so than your beloved Obama was after the Foley beheading. To wit:

Below: "Diane and John Foley talked to reporters after the death of their son, photojournalist James Foley, at the hands of ISIS."

UK Daily Mail photos:  Vacation continues: Directly after the Foley press conference, Obama went to play a round of golf with businessman Glenn Hutchins (center) and Cyrus Walker (right), the cousin of White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett

Marines Quietly Lower Combat Training Requirements To Help Female Officers

Hot Air

"Those of you who were following the efforts of then SECDEF Ash Carter* to open up all combat roles to women during the Obama administration probably recall some of his comments at the time. In 2015, when the U.S. Marine Corps was told to integrate women into combat duty, Carter was very clear in stating that standards would not be lowered and the women would have to compete on even footing with the men. The New York Times covered his announcement at the time. (Emphasis added)"
. . .
. . ."The few details known about the training regimen are daunting. Applicants are tossed out on a forced march in the dark of night c We supposedly weren’t guaranteeing any particular number of women roles as combat officers in the Marine Corps. We were just giving them the opportunity to try and prove they have what it takes.
"But now, some aspiring officers (presumably of both genders) who fail to complete the CET will still make it through and lead Marines into combat. You can say that you’re “not lowering the standards” until you’re blue in the face, but it sure looks that way from the outside."
* The same Ash Carter who would name ships after gay activists and non-military shooting victims, such as Harvey Milk and Gabby Giffords.

MRC’s Bozell Slams Media as ‘Useful Idiots’ for Coverage of 2016 Russian-Sponsored Anti-Trump Rally

Media Research Center  "RESTON, VA — Media Research Center President Brent Bozell issued the following statement Monday responding to the media’s coverage of a 2016 post-election anti-Trump rally which was recently revealed to have been organized by Russians.

"On Friday, an indictment filing signed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller revealed Russians allegedly staged both pro-Trump and anti-Trump rallies with intent to sow discord in the United States. According to NewsBusters, CNN and MSNBC both heavily covered the November 12th anti-Trump event – celebrating the protest as “a love rally.”
"MRC President Brent Bozell:
The liberal media have become predictable, “useful idiots” who rush to cover anything remotely anti-Trump. Sadly, they played right into the Russians hands – hook, line and sinker. The media have spent endless hours covering an alleged “collusion” between Russia and the Trump campaign. Now we find they had been touting a Russian-sponsored anti-Trump rally as a “unique” “love rally.” Both CNN and MSNBC gave hourly updates on the protest, all the while giving exposure to an event solely intended to sow discord in America. The national news media are truly a national embarrassment.

ABC about to pay big price for ‘The View’ Christian-bashing; sorry guys, non-apology apology didn’t cut it
Will “anti-Christian remarks” be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back, prompting ABC to finally reel in the unhinged liberal ladies on “The View?”
The network is being inundated with calls over a segment last week that compared Christianity to mental illness while mocking Vice President Mike Pence’s faith.
The controversy centers on the reaction to a clip from “Celebrity Big Brother,” where fired White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman trashed Pence as an “extreme Christian,” saying he “thinks Jesus tells him to say things.” . . .

Gun Control thoughts

Nikolas Cruz: Poster boy for gun-free zones  "Nikolas Cruz is not a need for gun control. Nikolas Cruz is a cause for permitting teachers and school officials to be armed, and he is an unimpeachable argument for doing away with gun-free zones.
"Cruz is also a reason for We the People to point out the failure of the gun-control crowd, who are determined to seize upon every opportunity to advance their damnable agenda.
"Gun control hasn’t stopped violent gun crimes; rather, it is in a part large responsible for the escalation of same. The Nikolas Cruzes were not coming onto school property and killing people when I was growing up. As I have shared many times before, when I was in high school we routinely carried our guns to school in our cars and pickup trucks. Periodically, we would settle a dispute with an obligatory punch and wrestle in the parking lot after school, but no one ever reached for his gun in those situations." . . .
Contacts in Pennsylvania informed me that civilian government types there sent emails to employees instructing them that if a shooting situation occurs, they should hide from shooters, and that if possible, pick up a stapler or some other heavy object and throw it at the shooter. Apparently they believe throwing a stapler at a killer with a gun is more effective self-protection than a triple tap center-mass from a Glock 21 Gen4, .45 ACP.

The One Gun Law that Might Work Is One that Democrats Will Not Allow

After Parkland massacre, the left wants to disarm ‘gun-clingers' yet ignores gun violence in black community  "Two days before a 19-year-old former student left 17 dead and many injured in a Parkland, Florida high school this past week, two 14-year-olds from Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood were shot.
"From Feb. 1 to Feb. 17, 2018, twenty Chicagoans, mostly black, were killed, and 65 others were shot and wounded.  But you won't see the dead's faces and names 24-7 on CNN or MSNBC.  The same mainstream media that cover school shootings involving mostly white suburban students with pictures and bios for days after the carnage give gunned down black youths, some caught in the crossfire of gang violence, a few seconds or so on a local or national news roundup.
"In the leftist media's perpetual war on Bible and gun "bitter clingers," the slaughter of blacks and Hispanics in Democrat-run cities, where guns are easily bought, stolen, traded, and sold neighbor to neighbor, doesn't serve their interests. " . . .

That presidential portrait

Hero Aaron Feis, the Disarmed School Guard

Aaron Feis Hero Football Coach Died Shielding Student from Shooter
"He leaves behind his wife, Melissa Ann Feis and their 8-year-old daughter named, Arielle Lilly."

"According to a statement from the school, Aaron Feis:
‘selflessly shielded students from the shooter when he was shot. He died a hero and he will forever be in our hearts and memories.”
Patrick Jakeway  "This raises the question of why only one person was trained and armed to fight back against an assailant.  One reason is that the "Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990," originally passed as part of the Budget Control Act of 1990, bars school personnel from arming themselves.  18 USC § 922(q)(2)(A) states:
It shall be unlawful for any individual knowingly to possess a firearm that has moved in or that otherwise affects interstate or foreign commerce at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone.
. . .
. . . "What would have happened if Aaron Feis had had a a Glock on his hip when the Code Red went off?  Two cases from the last several years serve as pertinent compare-contrast examples.

"On May 3, 2015, Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi attacked the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas where a free speech event was being held with about 150 people in attendance.  Simpson and Soofi were armed with three pistols and three semi-automatic assault rifles.  Despite being heavily outmatched in firepower, a single police officer working as a security guard at the event armed only with a .45-caliber Glock pistol shot and wounded the attackers and stopped the attack without any loss of life.  Contrast this to the attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine office in Paris on January 7, 2015.  Heavily armed men attacked Charlie Hebdo where they shot and killed 11 people and wounded many others.  The first responder was a bicycle cop named Ahmed Merabet.  As with Aaron Feis, Merabet had been disarmed by his government, as France has some the strictest gun control laws in the world, much stricter than those now being emotionally advocated in the United States.  Merabet was shot and wounded and lay helpless to defend himself against his AK-47-wielding attackers, who then calmly walked over and shot him dead in the street." . . .
. . .
"Aaron Feis was ready, but he had been unconstitutionally disarmed.  How often must we watch innocent children die before we realize that the illusions of weaponless dreamers aid evil men?"

Understanding the California Mind

"California is no longer really a single state. Few in the Bay Area have ever been to the southern Sierra Nevada foothill communities, or the west side of the Central Valley, or the upper quarter of the state. Coastal California is simply far more left-wing than other blue states; interior California is far more right-wing than most red states; increasingly, the former dictate to and rule the latter."

Victor Davis Hanson

"Nancy Pelosi gave a marathon speech on illegal immigration the other day. But how would she know much about the realities of open borders, given her palatial retreat in Northern California and multi-millionaire lifestyle that allows wealthy progressives like herself to be exempt from the consequences of her own hectoring? In the end, the House minority leader was reduced to some adolescent racialist patter about her grandson wishing to look more like his Mexican-American friend.
"I was thinking of the San Francisco Democrat’s speech last week, during a brief drive into our local town, in a region that is ground zero of California’s illegal immigration experience.
"Illegal immigrants are neither collective saints nor sinners, but simply individuals who arrive from one of the poorest regions in the Americas, without legality or much in the way of English, or high school education.
"They encounter an American host that has lost confidence in its once formidable powers of assimilation and integration as well as its ability to mint Americans from diverse races, religions, and ethnicities. Instead, American culture has adopted an arrogant sense that it can ensure near instant parity as redemption for supposed past –isms and –ologies. That may explain the immigrant’s romance for Mexico to which he fights any return, and the ambiguity about America in which he fights to stay.
"We dare not mention illegal immigration in California as a factor in the state’s implosion. But privately, residents assume it has something to do with the 20 percent of the state’s population that lives below the poverty level. Illegal immigration plays a role in the fact that one-third of the nation’s welfare recipients lives in California and that one of four state residents was not born in the United States—or that one-half of all immigrant households receives some sort of government assistance, and that one in four homeless people lives in California." . . .

Adam Schiff Discovers Who Was President During Russian Meddling And Donald Trump Takes Notice

RedState  "In my view, there were two salient findings in the unsealed indictment brought in by special counsel Robert Mueller on Friday. First, the Russians began laying the groundwork for their low-level meddling in 2013. Second, it is very obvious that the FBI was aware of their activities from 2013 through the end of the 2016 presidential campaign. All of this, as I posted, begs* the question of why, if this was an existential threat to the republic, did Barack Hussein Obama allow it to continue?(See my post on the subject)
"Adam Schiff, darling and intellectual godfather of the never-Trump movement and the #Resistance, was at a forum at the Council on Foreign Relations yesterday and he addressed that subject." . . .

. . .
. . . "But, this is an amazingly lucid statement from a usually deranged Schiff.
"And President Trump noticed:
