Joe Biden Did Not Have the Guts to Get Osama bin Laden

"When the time came for a gutsy call, the vice president said ‘don’t go.’ "

National Review

. . . "The single best moment of Obama’s presidency was the May 2011 raid into Pakistan that killed Osama bin Laden. It only happened because Obama ignored Joe Biden when he said, “Mr. President, my suggestion is, don’t go.” Biden is all too aware that he got the biggest decision of the Obama presidency wrong, which is why he changed his story years later to claim that he had actually supported the raid. That history is important to remember today, on the 19th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, as Biden seeks to become the next commander in chief.

"Biden has four main reasons for embracing Obama’s record rather than his own. One, Obama won two national elections and remains popular with Democrats. Two, the rest of Biden’s career is as a legislator, so his years as vice president are important to evaluating how he would handle an executive job. Three, as David Harsanyi has detailed, many of Biden’s own legislative stances are now sufficiently unpopular with Democratic activists that Biden has felt compelled to renounce them. And four, the tasks Biden handled himself as vice president, ranging from overseeing “shovel-ready” stimulus projects to dealing with Ukraine, are a morass of ineptitude, favoritism, and sleaze that Biden would rather avoid. So why not run on the best thing Obama ever did?" . . .

[EXCLUSIVE] Austin Mayor Steve Adler Led Defunding Police Department. This Is What the Cuts Look Like.

PJ Media  "The steady stream of Austin police officer retirements and departures may become a flood, according to a source with direct knowledge of the Austin Police Department, due to the mayor and city council’s cuts to the police budget.

"The Austin city council unanimously voted for drastic cuts to the APD in August. Those cuts total about $150 million of the department’s $434 million budget, or roughly one-third.

"This screenshot (below) of a department spreadsheet provided to PJ Media shows which divisions’ officers will be cut. The cuts all take effect in 2021.

Spread sheet with details.

"Before getting into the details, it’s important to note a few things. These cuts were recommended by the Austin Police Department, but only after the city council voted to slash the budget. The mayor and city council may use this to claim that APD leadership “approved” the cuts. City council members Greg Casar (District 4) and Jimmy Flannigan (District 6) along with Adler have been the most vocal proponents of the cuts. Casar bragged about them on Twitter shortly after the unanimous vote." . . .

Candace Owens blames 'pea-brained' LeBron James and Black Lives Matter for the Saturday night ambush of two Los Angeles sheriffs

One has been described as a married 31-year-old mother of a six-year-old boy.The other deputy is a 24-year-old male; Both graduated from the academy 14 months ago. Neither have been officially named.

UK Daily Mail  "Conservative author and activist Candace Owens has accused 'pea-brained' LeBron James of stirring up hatred that led to the shooting of two Los Angeles sheriffs on Saturday.

"With the two deputies fighting for their lives following the ambush, Owens, 31, said the outspoken basketball superstar bore responsibility for the attack.

" 'Why does this happen? Because pea-brained celebrities that are idolized like @KingJames tell young black men that they are “literally being hunted”,' she said, referencing a May 6 tweet in which James responded to the murder of Ahmaud Arbery. "

Disgusting scenes outside LA hospital as protesters taunt cops about two young county sheriffs fighting for their lives after being shot in patrol car ambush

One local faith leader had told KABC: 'They were saying 'Death to the police' and 'Kill the police,' and these are sheriffs, but the message is still the same. They were using all types of curse words and derogatory terms. Unacceptable behavior, because a hospital should be a sanctuary.'

A radio reporter who was near the protest scene was taken into custody, KABC-TV reported. The sheriff's department later tweeted that the reporter interfered with the arrest of a male protester.

Police later added: 'After deputies issued a dispersal order for the unlawful assembly of a group of protesters blocking the hospital emergency entrance & exits, a male adult protester refused to comply & cooperate…

'During his arrest, a struggle ensued at which time a female adult ran towards the deputies, ignored repeated commands to stay back as they struggled with the male and interfered with the arrest…

L.A. sheriffs shot in cold blood, BLM 'protestors' block emergency room entrance, chanting 'we hope they die'

"Oink, oink"!   https://twitter.com/selfdeclaredref/status/1305045405202345984

Monica Showalter  "In a demonstration of astounding psychopathetic(sp) brutality, Black Lives Matter protestors blocked the entrance to a Los Angeles emergency room as two near-mortally wounded sheriffs, ambushed in cold blood in Compton, were brought in bleeding. And to make sure nobody misunderstood their intentions, they chanted in unison: "We hope they die."

"Here's the cold-blooded hit-job against the two cops sitting in their car in a well-lit area, done on camera. According to news reports, the victims now in critical condition and fighting for their lives were a male 24-year-old rookie and a 31-year-old mother of a six-year old child.

A Biden talk show appearance has definitively answered the teleprompter question

Andrea Widburg  . . . "What’s new in the 2020 election, as opposed to 1988 or 2008, is Biden’s cognitive decline. Although his campaign and the mainstream media are denying it, it’s obvious to everyone. Several times, people have suspected that, during allegedly spontaneous question and answer sessions, he’s actually relying on a teleprompter:"

                             https://twitter.com/RNCResearch/status/1304193485193588736

. . . "Most people watching took Ducklo’s wall of words as a “yes.” Yesterday, we got confirmation that Biden does, in fact, use a teleprompter even for friendly interviews.

"Back in April, when Biden did an online interview with James Corden, Biden displayed a photograph of himself with his sons Beau and Hunter. The photograph was beautifully framed, behind glass. Unfortunately for Biden, that glass reflected a teleprompter with alternating blue and green script, with one color presumably representing Corden’s questions and the other showing Biden’s answers:"

Yes, this "Interview" was scripted. Note different colors for teleprompter text. They are two sides to the "conversation". I've worked with TV teleprompters before. This is what they are. This was staged. It's all a show. Why does Biden need a script?

Five Quick Things: The Most Shamefully Dishonest Campaign in Political History

                                                                   AF Branco

The American Spectator  "Did you happen to see, by any chance, the interview Bret Baier did on Fox News with a soy-eater named T.J. Ducklo, who serves as the national press spokesman for the Joe Biden campaign?

"If you didn’t, you really missed out, because it was pretty destructive. And with that, we’ll launch into our Five Quick Things, which all fall under the category of evidence that the Biden campaign is the most shameless pack of liars ever unleashed on the American people.

"This is by no means whatsoever an exhaustive list. It’s simply the first five things that came to mind. We could easily come up with 25 more. You’re welcome to put your own nominations into the comment thread below." Outline of the article:

1. Joe Biden never opposed the China travel ban.

2. Biden wouldn’t really end fracking. Honest!

3. It’s really Trump who’s pushing those riots in Democrat-run cities, folks.

4. Mask mandate? Who said anything about a mask mandate?

5. Whaddya mean, defunding the police? Trump is the one who wants to do that!. . .

"Here’s the problem, Joe. The cops themselves, the ones who follow this most, have adopted the old Ron Burgundy saying.

“I don’t believe you.”

"Of course they don’t. It’s impossible to believe this guy, because if you believe him about anything he says, he’ll turn around and say the exact opposite before your very eyes.

"That’s what you get when you’ve lied all your life even before you lost your mind. He’s a liar run by liars, and the only thing you can trust about Biden is that he’ll say absolutely anything in an effort to swindle the country into giving him and his handlers power over our lives.

"Let’s call that a bad idea and lay the biggest electoral smackdown on Biden any modern major-party candidate has ever suffered." . . .

Mere ‘Christianity’: How Social Justice Is Corrupting the Faith

... As a political ideology, Social Justice is totalitarian. It cannot tolerate the presence of dissent or opposition and is never slow to play the censor when and wherever it achieves power, eliminating whatever it finds “problematic.” The ceaseless proliferation of outrage and grievances, easily observable in online cancel culture, is not a bug but a feature.  ...
                                                               Flag and Cross

The American Spectator  "Even during a season of numerous tectonic shifts in American life, one that deserves special note is the massive leftward political tilt that has occurred among many Christians. People who just a few months ago were filling their social media accounts with photos of their children, cooking recipes, and inspirational Bible verses now voice some of the most radical left-wing talking points about gender, “privilege,” and “Whiteness.” Pastors promote the work of Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo as if they were sacrosanct; post long, progressive screeds to their blogs and social media accounts; and insinuate that those who disagree are guilty of white supremacy. Christianity Today publishes articles that bemoan the fact that Christianity is not central to the activist movements going on in the streets and is instead “more like an awkward extra appendage to progressivism than its beating heart.” Dan Cathy, the outspokenly Christian CEO of Chick-fil-A, suggests that whites should shine the shoes of black people out of a sense of racial guilt. Groups of white Christians are filmed bowing down before their black church members to ask for forgiveness for the sin of “systematic racism.” As if some switch had been flipped, a huge portion of the professing Christians are suddenly parroting the most extreme views of what was, until only yesterday, the fringe left.

"Those Christians who do so rarely, if ever, understand how specious this movement’s arguments are or how they manipulate language by loading familiar words with entire orthodoxies. (For example, isn’t it interesting that words as well as silence are now routinely described as “violence,” but looting and setting fire to buildings isn’t?) Nor are they aware of how radical the agenda is. “Black lives matter” is an indisputably true statement, and there are legitimate causes for concern when it comes to policing, but why, for instance, does the official Black Lives Matter website have so many references to transgenderism? Why are there exhortations to “dismantle cisgender privilege” and “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family”? Why all this talk of fostering a “queer-affirming network” and freeing themselves from “the tight grip of heteronormative thinking”? Why is there video footage of BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors, calling herself a “trained Marxist”? Does the average Christian supporter of BLM understand this language?" . . .

"A National Pity Party"...Michelle Deserves Pity, but the Rest of Us Deserve More

Michelle passes her resentments on to the graduating classes she addresses. TD

Mark DeVine   . . . "Michelle is a product of the "infantilization" of black Americans John McWhorter so incisively warns of.  The upshot of McWhorter's contention is that a victimhood culture flourishes among blacks that inhibits the maturity of blacks or people of any color who internalize a debilitating "blame others" and "depend upon others" ethos.  "White people don't even see us!"  What power over herself Michelle cedes to whites.  And what bitterness and blame she harbors and feeds within her soul.

"According to McWhorter and other un-woke blacks, this infantilization was nurtured by the post-MLK civil rights leadership in cahoots with a Democrat Party anxious to win black votes by posing as their protectors and providers and by a nation of whites desperate to dissociate from racism.  Infantilization inhibits the cultivation of that one adult psychic instinct Shelby Steele insists is uniquely necessary to human flourishing in America — taking responsibility for oneself."

. . .   "Pity for Michelle?  Absolutely.  But pity a-plenty also for any family, community, or nation increasingly populated by Michelle-like, race-obsessed, infantilized sufferers.

"Widespread societal infantilization produces more like Michelle who seek shelter from the racist storm and succor for their racist-inflicted wounds in little enclaves inhabited by those similarly wounded who look and think like them.

"Others, however, seek release in collective tantrums bent on rock-throwing and building-burning.  They spit into the black and brown faces of police, screaming, "You're a racist"; kick in the skull of a white man attempting to rescue a man from the mob; and assassinate a black American life-long Democrat who decided he would vote Trump come November.  Michelle has no corner on pity these days.  Where infantilization takes hold, occasions for pity abound indeed.  But unlike Michelle and her husband, no island mansion hideaway beckons to which the rest of us might repair."

Reed Hastings praised with softball interview in light of backlash

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings appeared on CCN on Thursday but was not asked a single question regarding the streaming platform’s controversial movie “Cuties," which has been accused of legitimizing pedophilia.

"Poppy Harlow of “CNN Newsroom” dodged any questions that may have placed Netflix in a bad light, and instead praising the platform for its diversity initiatives.

"But she notably failed to address the elephant in the room, “Cuties,” which caused outrage worldwide from both left and right.

""CNN Newsroom co-anchor Poppy Harlow gave Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings an almost entirely softball interview,” reported Newsbusters.

“She even found time to praise the company for being ahead of its competitors in ‘diversity’ programming and leadership.” . . .

Gallup: Public Favorability Towards The U.S. Sports Industry Has Collapsed

The Federalist

"Gallup data out Tuesday shows public devotion to America’s great cultural pastimes has collapsed in the last year as political turmoil has infected what used to be an escape for millions of Americans.

"According to Gallup, the sports industry now boasts a negative image among U.S. adults: 30 percent see the sports industry positively, compared to 40 percent reporting a negative image. This year’s survey illustrates a 30 percent decline from American views on the sports industry a year ago, when the corporate sports enjoyed a net positive 20 percent rating, with 45 percent of Americans reporting a favorable opinion compared to 25 percent who said otherwise." . . .
