Biden hard hat debacle is latest black mark for left-leaning, fact-checking site Snopes

I worked on a crane maintenance crew 20 years ago and we chose to wear our hard hats backward. We worked overhead and did not want our vision impaired as we moved things around far overhead. Mine was backward all day, but the hat band was reversed to fit as it should, unlike Bidens. But if a worker loaned him his personal hat and placed it on Biden's head that way, that is that. Remember how the liberal press made a big case out of how Trump fed fish in a pond, and how he held his coffee cup and the way walked down a slippery ramp. TD (Tunnel Dweller)

Biden hard hat debacle is latest black mark for left-leaning, fact-checking site Snopes (msn.com)

"The latest gaffe from Snopes over the weekend has put a spotlight on the fact-checking site’s left-leaning slant.

" 'Snopes is the kid that thinks they're the smartest student in the room and the apple of the teacher's eye, but in reality, they're the one everyone makes fun of for being a smart aleck," NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck told Fox News Digital

"Snopes, which is largely taken as gospel by the media elite, has been referred to by CNN as "the internet’s oldest and best-known fact checker," and once partnered with Facebook on a truth-finding venture. Snopes' own website boasts that it has been cited in publications such as The New York Times and Washington Post, while staffers have appeared on ABC, CNN and NPR.

SOCIAL MEDIA STUNNED AFTER SNOPES FACT-CHECK REVERSAL ON PRESIDENT BIDEN'S BACKWARDS HARDHAT

"Snopes reversed one of its rulings over the weekend to admit that President Biden did, in fact, wear a construction hard hat backwards. Biden was pictured during a visit to union workers in Wisconsin and the photo showed Biden noticeably wearing the hard hat backwards, with the strap and tightening knob clearly visible.

"Snopes' published an initial fact check, admitting the photo was authentic but insisting the president was correctly wearing the protective headwear." . . .

Hamas has the West eating out of the palm of its hand - Shani the truck girl

The Jerusalem Post  "There are those denying the October 7 attacks, and Hamas knows this. Its foolish followers are encouraging it to spread its lies, thus leading everyone down a dark and dangerous path."

"There can be no doubt about what happened on October 7. Absolutely none.

"The Hamas atrocities that took place on that day have been well documented, not just by the victims, the Israeli security forces, the government, and various groups that have visited the sites of the attack to “bear witness,” but by Hamas terrorists themselves.

"Sophisticated go-pro cameras worn by the monsters who infiltrated southern Israel recorded their heinous crimes in graphic detail. As they carried out their prolonged, brutal onslaught, they took pains to document as much of it as possible, planning to cause additional psychological terror to an already shocked, grieving nation.

"No way to deny the horrors of October 7

"The terrorist group even posted this horrific and disturbing footage on its website. Unlike the Nazis, who went to great lengths to conceal their crimes, Hamas boasted of them to the world, leaving no doubt about the brutality and scale of the attack and kidnappings that followed.

"Footage of one young, bloodied woman being grabbed by the hair and forced into the back of a vehicle, and another, recently murdered, her semi-naked corpse splayed out on the back of a truck and driven through Gaza while spat on by onlookers, are just two sickening reels that spring to mind. "

Acts have consequences:   U.N. officials are shocked, shocked, that 9 countries in the West have yanked UNRWA aid - American Thinker

"It was like the scene in Casablanca.

"United Nations bigshots were shocked, shocked, not to find out that they were employing terrorists, but that the West would yank aid from their crummy little terrorism operation as a result of that information getting out there. Twelve United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine and Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) employees were found to have participated in the barbaric atrocities against innocent Israelis on October 7.

"Another thousand UNRWA employees have been found to be affiliated with Hamas and that's just the ones Israel knows about.

"And 3,000 of them danced and celebrated when they heard about all the mass murder of Jews committed by Hamas terrorists.

"Here's how gross it was, according to a Wall Street Journal lead editorial:" . . .

"So as United Nations officials whine that Palestinian children will starve, aid-yanks are coming fast and furious. Aid can be delivered another way, as Germany, which also pulled funds has stated.

"It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of dirtbag terrorists. Too bad it didn't happen before October 7."

Voices from the tunnels: a chilling reminder of the ordeal of the hostages in Gaza

 Jewish News

Rockets and a makeshift morgue from the exhibition ‘Voices from the Tunnels’

"It’s lunchtime on a sunny but bitterly cold day in east London. The air carries with it a whiff of incense along with those of hot dogs and traffic fumes. A red bus pushes its way along the main road and in so doing reveals, on a side street, a poster of a Palestinian flag on a lamp post. Several turnings and a few hundred yards further along is a rubble-strewn yard. Visitors who keep walking will soon find themselves at the entrance to a hospital in Gaza.

"A motorcycle parked nearby was used to abduct partygoers from the Nova festival in southern Israel during the Hamas atrocities of 7 October. And right there, easy to miss, hidden in plain sight, is the entrance to a Hamas tunnel.

"Voices from the Tunnels is a dauntingly realistic recreation in a disused warehouse of the conditions in which many of the hostages in Gaza were kept, and in which about 132 of the more than 200 taken are believed still to be held. It opens, at a location that is not being publicised, on Monday 15 January, and Jewish News was given a preview."

‘Voice from the tunnels’: London exhibit aims to recreate reality of Hamas hostages
The hostages were taken during Hamas’s October 7 massacres, which saw some 3,000 terrorists burst across the border into Israel from the Gaza Strip by land, air and sea, killing some 1,200 people and seizing over 240 hostages of all ages, mostly civilians. Entire families were executed in their homes, and over 360 people were slaughtered at an outdoor festival, many during horrific acts of brutality by the terrorists.

. . ."One militant cuts off the head of an Israeli soldier so his comrades can take pictures of the headless body. Several men shout that they want to be filmed killing Jews. The lifeless bodies of innocent civilians are left strewn across the ground at the Be’im music festival, while open-top pick-up trucks transport some hostages back into Gaza, to be taken to the tunnels. When I visited, former Prime Minister Liz Truss was in the room watching, but left after the first few minutes." . . .
"The 7/10 Human Chain Project have also helped create “Stand with Israel” marches in London, and put up posters calling for the hostages to return. Another of their campaigns tries to put pressure on the Red Cross to give more humanitarian support to the hostages – something that the UN have said is almost impossible due to the ongoing war." . . .

When it comes to Hamas terrorism, there’s no ‘justice’ for Israel; UPDATE: 42 survivors of the Nova rave massacre sue...

 The Telegraph

A call for Israel’s surrender without a concurrent plan to eradicate Hamas is ultimately a call for Israel’s destruction. And what could be more anti-Semitic than that.

"We will keep doing this to Israel over and over!"

. . ."The 7/10 Human Chain Project is a grassroots movement – not affiliated with the Israeli government or the country’s embassy in the UK – which attempts to bring to life the horrors of October 7 with the help of visual representations. " . . .

" 'Voices From The Tunnels, a reproduction of an underground prison in Gaza, was on display earlier this month, allowing only small groups of invited guests to visit, again for security reasons. It was the latest in a long line of striking events organized by the Project – from forming human chains carrying photographs of hostages to parking empty buggies in public squares. While every event has been poignant in its own way, this particular one was perhaps the most harrowing because of how close it came to recreating the chilling atmosphere of the tunnels with the devastating use of full-size mannequins." . . .
"As pressure piles on Israel to lay down its arms amid Hamas’s unequivocal declaration that it would repeat the October 7 massacre, it cannot afford to allow the world to forget who broke the ceasefire last year and how. Hamas started this war. It can end it, too.". . .

. . ."Here is a country that knows all too well the consequences of institutionalized injustice and the specter of genocide. A nation that has endured mass death, forced migration and the denial of even the most basic human rights at the hands of foreign colonisers. A place that succeeded in rallying nearly the entire world behind its battle for freedom from white rule. And managed to achieve all of this without resorting to the wide-spread terror tactics that have defined liberation struggles across the Middle East and Levant. In short, a nation that has very little to do with Palestine, and even less with Hamas. " . . .

"Look at what we did, Mom and Dad!"

UPDATED: 42 survivors of the Nova rave massacre sue defense establishment for negligence | The Times of Israel

NIS 200 million suit says party should not have been approved so close to border and should have been dispersed immediately, when military discovered threat of potential attack.

Considered suing the UN?   . . ."The report said that one UNRWA school counselor from Khan Younis in southern Gaza is “accused of working with his son to abduct a woman from Israel.”

"Furthermore, “a social worker from Nuseirat, in central Gaza, is accused of helping to bring the body of a dead Israeli soldier to Gaza, as well as distributing ammunition and coordinating vehicles on the day of the attack,” the report added.
"A third employee was “described as taking part in the massacre at a kibbutz where 97 people died” — apparently Kibbutz Be’eri, one of the worst ravaged on October 7 in the Hamas-led onslaught."

UPDATED: Soros Dumping a Fortune Into Texas, Funding Operatives with One Goal in Mind

 The Western Journal

"George Soros is striking again.

The progressive billionaire — who has poured a fortune into electing prosecutors who have destroyed criminal justice systems across the United States — is turning his attention to Texas, according to a Fox News report.

And the first Mexican-born woman to serve in the U.S. House has a warning about why Soros is doing it.

With President Joe Biden’s disastrous open-border policy failure to win over Hispanic voters — a failure reflected in Biden’s polling numbers — Soros is putting new millions into a state Democrats are trying to flip to their control.

" 'They’re seeing that Hispanics are shifting towards the Republican Party because they’re realizing that we are the party of prosperity, that we want to build a strong economy, that we want to secure the border, that we want to prioritize the people of this country and not prioritize people from outside this country,” former Rep. Mayra Flores told Fox.

" 'And I believe that it’s our policies that are winning people over, and the struggle is real.

" 'George Soros and the Democratic Party are seeing people like myself that resonate with the Hispanic community,” Flores said. “They resonate with me. I resonate with them. We have similar stories. I’m bilingual. I speak Spanish and English. We have similar stories, and we share that bond.”

"That’s a bond Democrats can’t afford to see building. And a leftist billionaire like Soros can afford to do something about it." . . .

The principle on which Texas is standing in its feud with the federal government over the southern border is embedded in our Constitution and woven by Texas into the American flag.

"Will President Biden honor America’s guarantee to the Lone Star State? That’s the question in what is shaping up as a Texas-sized constitutional conundrum over who is in charge of enforcing the border. Governor Abbott has gone so far as to declare Texas is under “invasion” by migrants from countries to the south. That, he says, breaches Uncle Sam’s constitutional “guarantee” to the states, in Article IV, section 4, to “protect each of them against Invasion.”

"One can’t blame Texas for being irate over this failure on the part of President Biden and the federal government. Texas, after all, was a sovereign republic of its own prior to 1845, when it stitched its star to Old Glory. It joined the union in part because of that federal guarantee. The doughty Texans had already won their independence by beating a Mexican army at San Jacinto in 1836. A debate ensued as to whether to accede to America."

If Trump Were President Those Soldiers Would Be Alive

 David Strom – HotAir

"The assassination, which took place in Iraq, was a devastating blow to Iran’s ability to conduct terrorist operations and was a signal that the US was unwilling to sit back and take blows to our interests. Biden, instead, has signaled weakness time and again."

"Alternate histories are always speculative, so I cannot prove my assertion.

"But let’s face it, most rational people know–even if they won’t admit it–that Biden has been extraordinarily weak when it comes to foreign policy.

"Even in Ukraine, where he has the best claim to being assertive in his foreign policy, Biden’s evident weakness in Afghanistan comforted Putin and helped inspire his invasion in 2022. It likely led him to believe he could get away with invading Ukraine with minimal consequences. There is a reason why Russia’s two incursions into Ukraine happened during Obama’s term and then Biden’s. He feared Trump because he was unpredictable and strong.

"Putin had good reason to believe that Biden would be, if anything, weaker than Obama. He had demonstrated that fact in Afghanistan and his policy of appeasement toward Iran. Obama had an unerringly bad strategic sense, but he also liked killing America’s enemies. Biden was weak on every level.

"Trump, on the other hand, sent weapons to Ukraine during his term, making clear that he was willing to support the country in its conflict with Russia. We will never know what Trump would have done if Putin invaded Ukraine in a second Trump term, but neither would Putin. He probably would have waited for a more predictable and weaker president.

"Strength is the essence of deterrence, the best way to avoid military conflict with adversaries. Biden couldn’t deter a puppy.

"He obviously can’t deter Iran because Biden has been obsessed with appeasing them. Even his Iran envoy was an actual Iranian spy. His administration still has Iranophiles." . . .

On the subject of Biden and the Middle East:  Omar: US Gov't 'Will Only Do What the Somalians in the US Tell Them to Do' – HotAir

"Whom does Ilhan Omar serve as a member of the House of Representatives? Depends on who you ask … and where the Minneapolis Democrat is speaking, apparently. At a recent event in her home district among fellow Somalians, Omar asserted that Somalia was her top priority in Congress, and that she intended to make sure that the US government “will do only what Somalians in the US tell them to do.' ”

Ilhan Omar Speech on Representing Somalia in Congress Goes Viral With Calls to Expel Her From the House | The Gateway Pundit | by Kristinn Taylor   . . ."YouTube transcript of an excerpt of the speech (lightly edited for formatting):

A lot of people call me asking: Ilhan You should talk to the US gov. What will the US gov do? My answer was the US gov will do what we tell it to do. We should have that confidence as Somalis. We live in this country We pay its taxes. It is the country where your own daughter is a congresswoman. As long as I am in the congress, others will not take Somalia’s territorial waters. The US gov will not support others to take what’s ours. So don’t worry about that dear Minnesota. You got your lady in the congress. She is well aware and feel what you’re feeling. As for President Hassan Sheikh (of Somalia) I’m saying: we are very happy because of you. Because of the great work you did. You have showed Somalis and others that no matter how much problems we have as Somalis, we are capable people. We are people who know their country. People that never in their history….(inaudible) people that their country can never be put in danger. So want to congratulate the people of Minnesota and Somalis everywhere for sticking together (like my uncle said). And also how all of you stood by our President Because he needs all of us to stand by him.

Not just Biden and Kamala. America cannot afford to have Democrats govern this nation! TD

The trials of Trump

IT WAS A UNITED FRONT... Trump's Legal Team Reveals Shocking 'Conflict of Interest' in E. Jean Carroll Case: Judge Lewis Kaplan and E. Jean Carroll's Lawyer Roberta Kaplan Worked Together at Same Law Firm — Judge Allegedly Served as Mentor | The Gateway Pundit

“This is news to us,” said Habba. “We are going to include this in our appeal and take appropriate measures. The fact it wasn’t disclosed is an ethics violation.”

Manhattan federal Judge Lewis Kaplan and Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan.

"The legal team of former President Donald Trump is set to challenge the ridiculous $83.3 million jury verdict in the defamation case brought by nutcase E. Jean Carroll.

"The basis of their appeal, as revealed to The New York Post, hinges on an alleged “conflict of interest” involving Manhattan federal Judge Lewis Kaplan and Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan.

"Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, expressed shock upon learning that both Judge Kaplan and Roberta Kaplan, who are not related, previously worked together at the same prestigious law firm in the early 1990s.

"This connection was uncovered by The Post columnist Charles Gasparino, following a tip that Judge Kaplan was once a mentor to Roberta Kaplan." . . .

Haley defends verdict against Trump in Carroll case: ‘I absolutely trust the jury’ | The Hill  . . ."Haley’s defense of the jury’s verdict led to backlash from the Trump campaign. Trump adviser Jason Miller posted an article from Semafor on X, formerly Twitter, with the headline, “Nikki Haley crosses the Rubicon.” The article described Haley’s comments on the jury verdict on “Meet the Press.”

“ 'Congrats to @Semafor for correctly noting Nikki Haley just torpedoed her political future. There is no point of return. Haley is politically finished for ‘24, ‘28, forever,” Miller wrote." . . .

Why is no one wondering why the Trump trials have such idiotic jurors? - American Thinker    . . ."How can this be legal, one might ask.  It probably should not be, but one thing is clear:  Juries are rarely a “jury of one’s peers” anymore.  They are carefully and deceptively chosen.  We can be certain that jury consultants were hired to select the people who would sit in judgment of President Trump for each of the numerous trials to which he has been so unfairly subjected."

Rumored Biden replacement Gavin Newsom tells Joe how he would beat Trump   . . ."Newsom is considered a possible Democratic contender for the presidency in 2028, or as a possible last-minute replacement for Biden in 2024, should the president bow out of the race. Newsom has repeatedly denied any interest in the Democratic nomination this year but has not ruled out a run in 2028.

"The comments come as the 2024 election cycle gets underway. Biden is currently expected to win the Democratic nomination this summer, while former President Donald Trump leads in the Republican primary against former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

"If Trump and Biden win their respective nominations, the election would be a repeat of the 2020 election, in which Biden emerged as the victor. But after four years in office, and with multiple world crises, a tough economy, and an immigration crisis at the southern border, Biden is currently trailing Trump in a theoretical rematch, according to RealClearPolling."

It remains to see if Gav the Gov will be as dedicated to dividing America with racial hostility as Biden, any Obama, and Joy Reid. TD

Is This What Biden Meant By ‘Unity’?

 The American Spectator

Instead of bringing people together, he made them suspicious of one another. Instead of uniting the nation, he has divided it further.

"During President Biden’s inaugural address, he used the word “unity” at least a dozen times. He told us, “Today, on this January day, my whole soul is in this: Bringing America together. Uniting our people.” Three years later, his irresponsible policies and incendiary rhetoric have rendered the nation more divided than at any time in recent memory. Nowhere is this more evident than at the southern border where Biden has created a humanitarian crisis by ignoring federal immigration law and suing the state of Texas for exercising its constitutional right to defend itself from what its governor accurately describes as a foreign invasion.

"As Gov. Greg Abbott said in a Jan. 24 statement, “I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself. That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary.” The Biden administration disputes Gov. Abbott’s contention that the hordes of illegal aliens pouring into the Lone Star state amounts to an invasion. The voters, however, agree with Gov. Abbott. A Rasmussen survey conducted early this month found that “65 percent of
likely U.S. voters believe it is accurate to describe the current situation with migrants at the border with Mexico as an ‘invasion’ of the United States.”

"Ironically, Biden’s attack on Texas has produced “unity” among presidential candidates who agree on little else. On Truth Social, former President Trump wrote, “When I am President, on Day One, instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other Border States to Stop the Invasion.” Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. echoed this on X: “As President, I will end this humanitarian crisis once and for all. I will secure the border and destroy the business model of the drug cartels.” Nikki Haley expressed her support on X: ‘Governor Abbott is right: the state of Texas has every right to defend itself and its borders.” In addition, 25 GOP governors declared their support of Gov. Abbott:" . . .Full article here

Voters back Texas border wall, feel Biden starting ‘civil war’ - Washington Examiner   "A sizable majority of the public supports Texas’s construction of a wall along its border with Mexico and feels that President Joe Biden’s efforts to stop it are the first step toward civil war.

"In a sobering analysis of the escalating topic, 69% of likely 2024 voters said that they support the border wall and razor-wire fence that Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) has ordered. Among those, a majority, 51%, said they “strongly” back Texas in its fight to stop illegal immigration and the surge of “gotaways” getting past federal border agents." . . .

Maybe Joe will feel he does better at starting a Race war. He does have Joy Reid as an ally there. TD

If younger voters are worried about economic stability, Biden's got trouble in 2024

. . ."In the fall of 2022, I sat for an interview in Waukesha, Wisconsin, with Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press.” He asked what impact Jan. 6 would have on voters in my state. I challenged him to walk around Frame Park with me and find a resident who was motivated by the issue of Jan. 6. There was not one vote; people had moved on from what had happened nearly two years earlier.

"Liberal activists seem to wake up obsessing over Jan. 6. Most Americans obsess about how they are going to pay the bills. Under “Bidenomics,” they are paying more. According to a report from the Senate, a typical household pays about $11,500 more each year in living costs than they did in January 2021, before Mr. Biden took office.

"My son and daughter-in-law are trying to buy their first home. Alex and Bailey will pay about $1,500 more a month on the mortgage than they would have before Mr. Biden took office. This a problem for millions of young couples like them — and it is a problem for the Biden campaign.

"According to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll of registered voters in Georgia, Mr. Trump is beating Mr. Biden by 45% to 37%, with nearly 20% not ready to support either candidate. Winning Georgia would be critical for the 45th president to become the 47th president."
