Who Would Have Believed Hollywood Celebrities Would Be So Stupid?:

What Were Those Red Pins Worn by Leftists at the Oscars? Virtue-Signaling Nonsense, of Course – RedState

Red Ceasefire Pin Worn on Oscars 2024 Red Carpet: Explanation (hollywoodreporter.com)

Stars have been wearing the red enamel lapel pin since the Feb. 4 Grammy awards, where Annie Lennox and Phoebe Bridgers were among those who seen wearing the symbol of activism. Joe Alwyn and Dua Lipa wore the pin to preparties in advance of the Feb. 18 BAFTA Awards, while The Bear‘s Ebon Moss-Bachrach sported the pin at the Feb. 24 SAG Awards.

What have the Democrats become? How can you not be frightened?

The Morning Briefing: NY Fire Dept. Brass Are Bringing Back Soviet 'Knock at the Door' Vibe – PJ Media

Democrats have been very outspoken when advocating for the public harassment of politicians with whom they disagree. They're going to have to get used to the fact that everybody can play by their rules. Letitia James is a very polarizing figure and ran headlong into an uncomfortable truth for the Democrats: there are vocal pockets of Trump support even in the bluest of places. Oh, and they're getting bigger, thanks to insanity like this.

"The worst of leftism is taking over the upper echelons of a variety of institutions in the United States. It's both weird and disheartening to see highly educated military and corporate brass kowtowing to an ideological demographic that would prefer they not exist.

"Maybe it's constant overexposure to Democrats that does it to some people. That would explain a story out of New York involving rabid Trump-hating Attorney General Letitia James and some members of the New York City Fire Department. Here's the setup to it from a post that Milt Harris wrote yesterday:

New York is proving once again that it is the East Coast location where common sense goes to die. Last week Attorney General Letitia James gave a speech at a New York Fire Department promotion ceremony. James had been invited to speak at the event, which was held to honor The Rev. Pamela Holmes, the department's second female chaplain and the first black woman to hold that title.

Before she even took the stage, some of the firefighters started voicing their displeasure with the decision she made involving the Donald Trump case.

As they chanted, "Trump, Trump, Trump," James [arrogantly] asked for quiet

"Well, the firefighters weren't in the mood to quiet down and continued to express their displeasure with the chief witch of New York State's witch hunt of Trump."

We expect a future of being videotaped during public meetings. TD

This Is Not the Soviet Union, Mr. Biden; (Star Parker)  "Our own country -- despite the words in our founding documents about freedom and God -- has been on a path adopting the same premises about human reality that lead to the collapse of the communist world.

"This was evident in President Joe Biden's message to the nation in his State of the Union address.

"Biden, in so many words, delivered a message that the path for a better, wealthier, fairer America is more government.

"Despite the reality that the country is being crushed with staggering debt, the result of runaway government, Biden and his party celebrate this and want even more." . . .

The latest edition of CURE's "The State of Black Progress" shows the uniform failure of expansion of government into health care, education, housing and retirement, all in the name of "fairness" and no one being "left behind."

"Just as Stephanopoulos has a reprehensible record, so does ABC."

The Amorality of ABC's George Stephanopoulos - D.C. Larson

. . ."Stephanopoulos's apparent smug confidence that his televised attack on rape victim Mace would go unpunished would be validated, were serious professional sanctions not forthcoming. Given ABC's sordid history, though, blow-dried lout Stephanopoulos will get away with his vile performance. Kimberly Godwin might even give him a bonus." . . .

"Last Sunday, Stephanopoulos savaged Rep. Mace of South Carolina. Though her appearance had been proposed as an opportunity to share insights on 2024's presidential contest, the devious GMA host opened the segment by attacking the victim of a teenage rape.

"You endorsed Donald Trump for president. Judges in two separate juries have found him liable for rape and for defaming a victim of that rape. How do you square your endorsement of Donald Trump with the testimony we just saw?"

"With that, Stephanopoulos launched his ambush offensive. The miniature monster included numerous lies in that single paragraph. There were no juries in the Trump/E. Jean Carroll case. The former president was not found liable for rape, but rather "sexual abuse" -- that's a pivotal legal distinction.

"During her retort, Mace insisted "I'm not going to sit here on your show and be asked a question meant to shame me about another potential rape victim."

"The GMA host purred that he had done no such thing, though all watching had just witnessed him doing precisely that.

"The interview continued in that sorry vein, with Stephanopoulos attired in the gear of a partisan bully. He reiterated his Trump-found-guilty-of-rape lie numerous times, openly pursuing political interests and not journalistic ones.

" 'George Stephanopoulos tried to bully me and shame me as a rape survivor over my support for Donald Trump, which is insane to me, because he wasn't found guilty of rape anywhere," Mace subsequently told Fox's Harris Faulkner, per The Hill." . . .

Do you smell something burning?

Do you smell something burning? - American Thinker

Italy had Emperor Nero, who, as the legend goes, fiddled while Rome burned. We have President Zero, who fiddles on vacations and long naps while the country crashes and burns.

. . ."A demented old man who belongs in a rest home or in prison with the rest of his family is currently overseeing the implementation of destructive policies that likely came from the former president living just down the street from the White House. Let me list a few of the smoldering embers: Food shortages, forced vaccinations, leftist teachers, open borders, oligarchs allowed to run rampant, creating artificial clouds to block the sun, artificial meat, providing funding for anti-American groups and organizations, plans to spray vaccines into the air or put in the water supplies, funding subversive judges and district attorneys throughout the land, a two-tiered justice system, propaganda through the nightly news, and sexual child abuse made acceptable or quasi-legal in some states.

"Yes, that burning odor you smell is our constitution being destroyed as the country is slowly becoming a socialist third-world in status. Yes, the burning smell is our churches being demolished, our religious beliefs being destroyed, and our family structure being disassembled with the goal that our children will be faithful only to the state." . . .

For millions, ‘Bidenomics’ is a painful joke. Joe Biden loves it -

"Short version: People are not happy. And when they hear the president heaping praise on “Bidenomics” — well, they don’t react well."

Washington Examiner  "If you look up the word “Bidenomics” on the White House website, you’ll find example after example of President Joe Biden praising the group of economic policies named after him. But now, there are reports the president’s embrace of the term Bidenomics might be backfiring.

"The word actually came from the media, and it wasn’t a compliment. On June 8, the Wall Street Journal published an analysis of what Biden national security adviser Jake Sullivan called “a modern American industrial strategy,” defined as an economy, under Biden, in which “a more assertive federal government guides investment, industry, and trade.” Some of Biden’s critics, and opponents of that strategy, adopted the term to use against him.

"Biden didn’t like it. On June 28, a reporter noted that Biden had earlier said he didn’t know “what the hell Bidenomics is.” But the questioner then suggested that the White House was “branding” the president’s policies under the word Bidenomics. “Look, you guys branded it, I didn’t,” Biden snapped. “I never called it ‘Bidenomics.’ … Let’s get it straight. The first time it was used was in the Wall Street Journal, OK? I don’t go around beating my chest, ‘Bidenomics.’ So the press started calling it ‘Bidenomics.'”

"A short time later, though, Biden changed his mind. Bidenomics became a good word. On July 6, Biden traveled to Columbia, South Carolina, and delivered an entire speech devoted to his new favorite phrase. “Bidenomics is just another way of saying ‘restoring the American dream,'” Biden said. Among other things, Biden continued, “the pay for low-wage workers has grown at the fastest pace in two decades — and folks, it’s no accident. It’s Bidenomics in action.”

"From then on, the president started using Bidenomics frequently to claim credit for what he said were great economic improvements resulting from his policies. There was only one problem. Majorities of voters are very unhappy about the economy now. They are suffering from high prices and diminished purchasing power, and they don’t want to hear the president telling them how great things are as a result of Bidenomics." . . .

John Bolton: ‘Let Israel finish the job’

Former national security advisor John Bolton warns that if Israel is not allowed to complete its military objectives, we will see another October 7th attack “in the near future.”

. . ."The larger lesson is that sometimes the first step to stopping the spread of a pernicious but popular ideology is to hand its adherents a crushing military defeat. In 1945, the Allies defeated Nazism, though the denazification of Germans took many subsequent years. In 1967, Israel dealt a fatal blow to pan-Arabism, though it survived in a reduced form for years afterwards. Today, in the current Gaza war, Israel has the opportunity to cripple a core project of many adherents of political Islam, the goal of destroying the State of Israel.

"The commanders of the Israel Defense Forces and their soldiers believe that the war aim in Gaza—killing or capturing the Hamas leadership, dismantling their military infrastructure and ending their governmental rule—is achievable, but will take additional months.

"IDF morale remains high after more than 100 days of fighting, but there are signs of war weariness and calls for ceasefire in three other key sectors.

"American media pressure for ceasefire

"First, in the United States, the Biden administration continues to fully support Israel in prosecuting this war, while elevating two other priorities: restraining Israel from expanding the war in Lebanon, despite Hezbollah’s daily provocations; and focusing Israel on increasing humanitarian supply in Gaza, even though that reinforces Hamas as well as alleviates needs in the civilian population. That is all for the common good.

"At the same time, however, influential American media commentators now call for an end to the war, for Israel to “cease fire and withdraw.” They misread the determination of the Israeli public and hide an American domestic agenda.

"For example, Tom Friedman wrote in the New York Times in late December, “If I am reading the mood in Israel correctly these days, the overwhelming majority of the country today wants their 120-plus hostages returned—over and above any other war aims.” But he is not reading the mood in Israel correctly. While credible Israeli polls say release of the hostages is the public’s top war aim, they also show that the public believes the best way of achieving this is to attack and press Hamas, not to cease fire and withdraw." . . .

We should have listened to Lady Thatcher during the Gulf War. She not only wanted to make Saddam surrender, but she knew the world must SEE him surrender. Neither Biden nor any Democrat in Washington has the mettle to bring that about. Fecklessness has a price and America must not force such a quality on Israel. TD

The End of Saddam's Regime | The Washington Institute   . . ."Saddam's escape, perhaps even his capture, would not be healthy for the postwar situation. His end must be conclusive and public. The same applies to other key regime figures. The coalition must demonstrate to all the participants in, and audiences of, this war that the regime and its principal figures are gone, for good. There should be no remaining figures to serve as rallying points for postwar opposition and resistance. Similarly, if there is no clear-cut end, no "surrender," restoring order in Iraqi society could prove difficult, even if the coalition is able to end organized resistance; this possibility makes the creation of a credible regime in situ an important step. Moreover, even if the regime ceases to exist, a substructure of its cadres could live on in post-Saddam Iraq. Hence, people and organizations associated with the regime must be thoroughly purged after the war."

Biden Admin, Like Obama Before It, Has Found An Enemy It’s Willing To Fight: Bibi Netanyahu (legalinsurrection.com)   "The Obama administration hated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with the fire of a thousand Suns, because Bibi would not bow to the Obama “grand bargain” to hand the region to Iran. What infuriated Obama more than anything is that a large percentage of Americans supported Bibi’s position and saw in him something Obama and his VP Joe Biden lacked: A strong leader willing to fight against the enemies of Israel, and America.

"Team Obama runs the Biden administration’s foreign policy, so the hate remains. Team Biden wants to force a ceasefire on Israel, leaving Hamas in control of Gaza, and Netanyahu will not capitulate.

"The Biden administration has been all but openly threatening Israel if it captures Rafah, where Hamas’ last four battalians are based presumably protecting the remaining senior leaders and holding most of the hostages. Netanyahu recognizes that to leave Hamas in Rafah is to lose the war." . . .

Well, Joe’s State of the Union medical cocktail has officially worn off…

Jacked-Up-Joe has left the building  . . ."It becomes glaringly evident to everyone, both in the US and the world, that Joe’s team saves the “special sauce” for the big public appearances. And frankly, this realization—that they have to medicate him to make him slightly presentable—is even more alarming than watching him fumble through his words in real time.

"That’s exactly the scenario we’re seeing unfold. In just 24 hours, Joe transitioned from a vein-popping, spit-flying, screaming spectacle, raging at the American people like a wild banshee, to losing track of his identity, profession, and the very reason he’s on the campaign trail.

"In other words, the cocktail wore off big time." . . .

. . .“Uppers always wear off quickly…
” “It was obvious Joe was under the influence.”

"That last observation hits the nail on the head. It was glaringly clear that Joe Biden was heavily “juiced up” to ensure he made it through the State of the Union without dribbling on himself. This isn’t the way to run a government, yet here we are, watching what feels like an extended SNL sketch set in a dementia ward. It’s high time for a change—enough is indeed enough." . . .

Fani Willis Colluded with Anti-Trump 'Jan 6' Committee to Fabricate Narrative, Destroy Evidence

  Slay News

The report was filled with new evidence that exposes a culture of dishonest and partisan efforts by Pelosi, the Democrats, and their anti-Trump “Republican” allies, former Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL).

"A bombshell new congressional report has been published that shows Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis secretly colluded with the Democrats’ “Jan. 6” Committee to fabricate a narrative against President Donald Trump and destroy exonerating evidence before Republicans could review it.

"The “January 6 Initial Findings Report” was published by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) on Monday.

"Loudermilk is the chairman of the Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight.

“ 'For nearly two years, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th Select Committee promoted hearsay and cherry-picked information to promote its political goal – to legislatively prosecute former President Donald Trump,” Chairman Loudermilk said in a statement on Monday.

“ 'It was no surprise that the Select Committee’s final report focused primarily on former President Trump and his supporters, not the security failures and reforms needed to ensure the United States Capitol is safer today than in 2021.”

“ 'The American people deserve the entire truth about what caused the violent breach at the United States Capitol of January 6, 2021,” Loudermilk concluded." . . .

Megyn Kelly Just Crushes George Stephanopoulos in Brutal Takedown Over His Attack on Nancy Mace

Kelly said that Stephanopoulos had been involved in the shaming of Clinton victims, although he doesn't like to talk about it. "Did you worry then that this behavior might shame victims from coming forward?" Kelly said Stephanopoulos described himself as Clinton's "enabler." . . .

RedState   "The folks on the left have been embarrassing themselves badly since Sunday's effort by ABC's George Stephanopoulos to "rape-shame" Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) for supporting former President Donald Trump.

“As a rape victim... how can you endorse Trump?” he asked.

"I live with shame. And you're asking me a question about my political choices trying to shame me as a rape victim, and I find it disgusting," Mace responded.

"Then Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough lept into the cesspool of stupidity and also went after her — these people who claim to care about victims but truly only care about the political narrative they want to push.

"So much for the #MeToo crowd. They apparently only care if the accused is a Republican. Otherwise, they will run you over.

"Biden accuser Tara Reade then jumped into the fray. She wasn't having any of it, asking E. Jean Carroll how she could support Joe Biden, given Reade's accusations.

Chris Wray Sounds the Alarm: ISIS Ties Uncovered in US Southern Border Smuggling Operations

  RedState

"FBI Director Christopher Wray, along with other government officials, has once again raised the alarm over a sophisticated human smuggling network with direct ties to the Islamic State bringing illegal immigrants and asylum seekers over the southern border. This network, which was initially undetected, could pose a dire threat to national security.

"During a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Monday, Wray discussed an investigation into this network when information surfaced related to individuals from Uzbekistan and other nations who were aided by a smuggler who was tied to ISIS. The revelation was deemed critical enough to include in President Joe Biden’s top cabinet officials’ morning briefings.

FBI Director Christopher Wray on Monday warned of a "wide array" of dangerous threats coming from the U.S. border, including drug trafficking, violent gangs and smugglers with ties to ISIS.    Full article...

Biden could fix the migrant crisis in an instant (nypost.com)

In table-setting his State of the Union Thursday evening, President Biden invoked the memory of Franklin Roosevelt but, according to nearly every poll, he may be headed in the direction of Jimmy Carter. While he certainly beat expectations for his performance, Biden fumbled a major opportunity to reverse course on the leading issue of immigration despite his 80% public disapproval on the issue. Instead, he opted for finger pointing at the GOP and a likely half-step executive order next week. That strategy will fail. Indeed, many of the president’s problems can likely be traced to his pandering to the hard left.

. . ." His original sin — the bungled 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal opposed by most of his senior military advisors — was a bow to the hard left’s isolationist impulses." . . .

At a Dutch museum dedicated to preserving the consequences of Jew-hate, a small girl got to experience that hate, too, as baying mobs waving Palestinian flags screamed out their hatred for Jews at the child. Here is what was seen on Twitter:

Baying Jew-haters hurl abuse at little Jewish girl coming to opening of Holocaust museum in Amsterdam - American Thinker

"Which takes the standard pro-Palestinian Jew-hating protest we have seen since October to a whole new level.   It's shocking that anyone with any cause whatsoever would scream at a child. To scream at a Holocaust survivor child is utterly vile, and takes a special kind of antisemite to have the nerve to do it." MS

"The picture was curiously redolent of Norman Rockwell's famous masterpiece about desegregation of schools titled "The Problem We All Live With," in this illustrative painting:

"Here's the best account of the context -- from The Guardian of all places:

Three-quarters of the Dutch Jewish population – 102,000 people – were killed by the Nazis during the second world war, the highest proportion in western Europe. But, unlike some other countries, the Netherlands has never had a national museum devoted to those horrors. . . .
