RINOS Wrong on Arpaio

Daniel John Sobieski  "Arizona Sen. John McCain’s limited understanding of the law and the Constitution was on display when he falsely claimed that President Trump’s pardon of former Maricopa County Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio undermined the rule of law. McCain was joined by his Arizona colleague, Sen. Jeff Flake, who is up for reelection in 2018:"
. . .
. . . "Perhaps if Arpaio had given away the nation’s secrets, or been an international felon like the Clinton-pardoned Marc Rich, or been a New Black Panther intimidating Philadelphia voters in 2008, McCain, Flake, and Ryan might have a case. But they don’t. Joe Arpaio was and is a patriot fighting to protect our nation’s borders from invasion and was acting in good faith in enforcing federal laws it was originally written, not as reinterpreted by a liberal judge."

CNN Commentator Calls MLK Jr’s Niece A ‘Token Black Woman’

Weasel Zippers

"Free thinkers are a threat.
"Via Townhall:
Alveda King is a distinguished speaker, an author, a bold pro-life advocate, and a civil rights activist.
Yet, to CNN commentator Keith Boykin, she is just a “token right-wing black woman.”
King is a vocal Trump supporter. In several cable news appearances, she has commended President Trump for his “compassion” and “brilliance,” while crediting him with helping to progress civil rights.
Shame on her, according to liberals. Had she simply saved her praise for Hillary Clinton instead of Trump, she would be a hero instead of a disgrace.[…]
CNN contributor Marc Lamont Hill took it a step further, calling Trump’s visitors “mediocre negroes.”

New York Times Warns Purging of Monuments May ‘Mobilize the Right and Alienate the Center’

Adam Shaw at Breitbart  "As the alt-left, supported by members of the Democratic Party, look to tear down more and more monuments across America, the New York Times is warning that the increasing scope of the left’s iconoclasm may be alienating centrists and mobilizing the right.

"In an article Friday about the movement to rip down monuments and images in the wake of the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, this month, the Times says the disputes have proliferated with “dizzying speed” and suggests that the left’s fervor has started to produce questionable results:
But since the violence in Charlottesville, Va., two weeks ago, the anger from the left over monuments and public images deemed racist, insensitive or inappropriate has quickly spread to statues of Christopher Columbus, the former Philadelphia tough cop Mayor Frank Rizzo, Boston’s landmark Faneuil Hall, a popular Chicago thoroughfare and even Maryland’s state song. An Asian-American sportscaster named Robert Lee was pulled from broadcasting a University of Virginia football game so as not to offend viewers.

"The article goes on to say that as the campaign moves past Confederate monuments, and begins to encompass a number of other grievances, “they have become to some an example of politically correct sentiments gone too far, with the potential to mobilize the right and alienate the center.' ” . . .

Is our US Navy incompetent or did Obama seriously undermine it?

National Security, Politics

"The US Navy has been in the news lately for crashes and corruption. Is this the reasonable follow-up to 8 years of Obama’s approach to the military?"

. . . "Superficially, it appears that the Navy is having a competence problem. It’s equally likely, though, that we’re seeing a reflection of a very serious morale problem. Eight years of Obama attacks on the military may be taking their toll. Here are two things to keep in mind as you think about that theory. First, during the Obama years, the Pentagon engaged in a massive purge of officer ranks across the services. A list compiled in 2014, while the purges were still ongoing, gives an idea of the purge’s scope.
. . .
"Once president and Commander-in-Chief, Obama . . . also made it plain that he believed the military’s best and highest purpose is to serve as a petri dish for social justice and climate change experimentation. There was one other thing he did that had to have been a real morale buster — he kicked religion out of the military. For men and women who must daily contemplate the possibility that they will be plunged into dangerous situations in the service of their country, that was cruel and unnecessary.
"In addition to reconfiguring the military He also threw away the military’s victory in Iraq, which pretty much amounted to spitting on the graves of those who died to make the victory possible and spitting in the eyes of those who, though terribly wounded, survived. In Afghanistan, he announced a pre-determined defeat date, even while keeping troops on the ground to fight an enemy emboldened by its pending victory." . . .  Hat tip to WOW! Magazine

"She had been a school teacher and believed prophesy, so she always kept up on issues, long before most ever thought of them here. "

Hillary Clinton didn't lose because of the media, and her supporters can't accept it

"Don't You someday Want to See a Woman President?" Hillary Clinton

Scott FerrarelloatMoretti Underground

Washington Examiner  "That Hillary Clinton's White House hopes were stunted at least in part by an unfair news media is a conviction that continues to burn strong with her hardcore believers, even as the rest of us know that, like Santa, the Easter Bu nny, and Chris Cillizza's political insight, it isn't real.
The media's 2016 coverage was slanted -- in Clinton's favor. And she still lost. (AP Photo/Patrick Semansky, File)"Complaints about the media as it relates to Clinton resurfaced this week after a New York Times reporter defended his paper's coverage in 2016.
"Critics bombarded New York Times White House Correspondent Glenn Thrush on Monday after he shared a news article on Twitter about the Secret Service running out of money to pay its staff due to President Trump and his immediate family's frequent traveling.
" 'Trump's gilded lifestyle is bankrupting the Secret Service," Thrush tweeted."

"While the nation's former top diplomat was under federal investigation for her "extremely careless" communications practices (that spinning sound is Walsh rolling her eyes), Trump was skating by a distracted media all the way to the finish line.
"Wait, that's not right.
"CNN was actually playing the infamous "pussy" tape on an endless loop, reporters were feverishly looking for his tax returns, and every news article called Trump a bigot.
"Other headlines Trump saw throughout the campaign: "Donald Trump mocks reporter's disability," CBS News (a lie); "In 1927, Donald Trump's father was arrested after a Klan riot in Queens," Washington Post (deceitful); "Donald Trump: Ban all Muslim travel to U.S.," CNN (okay, that one was true and his proposal was popular)."

Who’s Behind Civil War In America?

Would I not be accurate in thanking an academia raised and indoctrinated by Howard Zinn's version of American History for their part in all this? TD

No More Gone With the Wind In Memphis

John H. Hinderaker

"The dismantling of American history continues. The Orpheum theater in Memphis announces that it will no longer show the Hollywood classic Gone With the Wind:
For the first time 34-years, the Orpheum Theatre will not show “Gone With The Wind” during its Summer movie series in 2018.
“Gone With The Wind” was shown on August 11th, and after the theater received several comments about the showing, management made the decision to not show it again.
“ 'Several comments”? There are quite a few movies that I would vote never to show again. What do you think my chances are if I complain to theater management? This is the theater’s statement:" . . .
War on history continues: Memphis theater axes ‘Gone With The Wind’ after ‘feedback from patrons’  . . . Reaction on social media was pretty much what one would expect.
“ 'This is the stupidest thing I have read!! I will not be attending anymore Orpheum events. If they cancel showing gone with the wind, they better not show the movies roots, the color purple, or 12 years a slave. Our country has really turned into the joke of the world,” one person said on WREG’s Facebook page.
“ 'We have literally lost our minds in this country! Let’s just erase all the history so we can rewrite it! Not me. I want to see every movie, book, statue, tribute, monument, memorial, and site of every concentration camp to ensure these horrors never happen again. If you don’t teach and learn from our past you will be destined to repeat it!” another person said.
“ 'Whaaaaaaaat???! Gone With the Wind is a CLASSIC movie! It is historical and one that I believe everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. If we start banning all mention of our history, then our future generations will be doomed to repeat the past because they are not taught about what happened and why,” a third critic said." . . .
Confederate Flag Sales Booming After Removal Of Monuments  . . . “What’s really pushing sales [now] is removal of the monuments,” said Kennedy, who opened her shop in 1985. “The general feeling I get from customers that call and email is that they are just pushing back at people who are trying to revise our history. I think as long as that’s in the news,” demand will continue." . . .

Get Ready To Say Goodbye To First Lady Melania Trump

Mackenzie Wright

"A Congressman has introduced the first officially filed articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump. The measure, HR 438, was introduced on the House of Representatives floor in July. While he believes the impeachment will go through, he's not as confident that the president will be removed from office.
"Los Angeles-area Rep. Brad Sherman drafted and circulated the articles of impeachment, something he had vowed to do ever since Trump took office. According to Sherman, many House Democratic leaders have disapproved of his efforts. His only co-sponsor of the measure was Rep. Al Green (D-Texas).
"Democratic leaders have attempted to hush incessant talk of impeachment in hopes of focusing on health care bill revisions, economic issues and the investigation into Russia's interference in the presidential election. While some Democratic leaders joined in the 'impeach Trump' chants a few months ago, many of them began to realize that without evidence, these cries may have been premature and make the party look bad. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was one of the voices of reason that urged party leaders to wait until investigations were complete.
"Sherman had initially promised Pelosi to hold off on the impeachment proposal, but went on to put it through anyway. " . . . Video

2015: 60 Minutes Interview Marks A Terrifying Shift In President Obama

RedState  "From demonstrating leadership through climate change and the Iran Deal to clear disdain for insinuations that Russian President Vladimir Putin was challenging him, President Obama’s interview with Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes demonstrated the shakiest he’s sounded since the first debate with Mitt Romney. Republicans are fist bumping each other over the embarrassing moments in the interview, but we definitely shouldn’t be.
"We should be terrified.
"It wasn’t what he said in the interview that is troublesome. It’s what he told Kroft after the interview in b-roll takes. As Kroft put it, the President said he felt “liberated” because he’s not on a ballot in the upcoming election. Before we dismiss this minor comment, it’s important to remember the man and how his ego will drive him going forward.
"His decisions are being questioned and he doesn’t have an election to win. This means that he will act very brashly. This isn’t going to be a year and a few months of winding down the way many Presidents end their second term. He’s not preparing a few pardons and thinking of his greatest accomplishments to put in a memoir. He is going to ramp up. He is liberated, which for a man like President Obama means that he’s empowered. He can do whatever he wants. He will do whatever he wants.
"This interview marked a turning point. The shine that he perceived was still glowing around him is a little less bright in his own mind. He’s mad about how the interview went. He’s angry about what people are saying about his weakness. The 60 Minutes interview has made him more dangerous to America and the world than he’s ever been in the past." . . .
