Trump Wins His First State — Judge Rules South Carolina Can Cancel Its 2020 Primary

Analyzing America

"On Wednesday, the South Carolina Republican Party’s conclusion to not hold a 2020 Presidential primary has been confirmed and upheld.
"This will make it even more difficult for less prominent candidates who are pushing to win against Trump.
"The resolution was upheld by Circuit Judge Jocelyn Newman, who said the law “does not give Plaintiffs a legal right to a presidential preference primary, and the Court will not substitute its own judgment for that of the General Assembly or the SCGOP.”
"Bob Inglis, former South Carolina congressmen sued state Republicans, claiming this decision to skip the primary, strips him and other likely candidates “of the ability to vote for the candidate of their choice in South Carolina’s famous (and particularly influential) ‘First in the South’ primary.”
