Obama Loses Americans’ Confidence
Jennifer Rubin "...he lost the voters’ confidence. Perhaps saying so many things that aren’t so — ObamaCare would save money, the relationship with Israel is rock-solid, George W. Bush is responsible for the deficit — wasn’t the best idea. Over time he has frittered away the precious commodity of presidential credibility. And maybe the public simply doesn’t buy the holier-than-thou routine from Obama (in which he is civil while others are not, he is nonpartisan while others are craven hacks). They now see him as a big-government partisan liberal who hasn’t fixed the economy."
GOP: Dry up will to cross border
Dick Morris "But Obama will not take the step that could end illegal immigration. Why? Because he wants immigration. He seeks to reshape the partisan balance in America by increasing the number of Latino voters and marrying them to the Democratic Party by provoking Republicans who just want law and order to appear racist to Hispanic-Americans. His is a game of great duplicity and racial opportunism. But good legislation can defeat his designs and solve one of our most pressing domestic problems at the same time."
The Arizona Desert and its People
American Thinker "Those in Arizona find it baffling that elitists on the east coast, west coast and other large cities like Chicago don't want us to protect ourselves. We're not racists. We're not bigots. We're hard working Americans who don't like to live in fear. We don't like being robbed. We don't like having to clean up after others who don't care what they do to our state. We definitely dislike seeing our friends and neighbors murdered. This isn't about race. This is about crime. We will not be victims any more." Related: What We Lost on the Border ;and San Francisco's Unconstitutional Arizona 'Boycott' : "Who wins from an embargo when leftist run cities artificially substitute politics for market value in investments? Politicians with an almost insatiable appetite for power and praise win politically -- after all, it is not their businesses hurt by an economically irrational embargo against Arizona."
Defining Dumbness Down
Jeffrey Folks "Under the direction of leftist educators, the very institutions, charged with the liberation of young minds from the chains of ignorance and groupthink, have become increasingly effective indoctrination centers and breeding grounds for rigid, unreflective political orthodoxy."
Nashville Flood 2010: The Disaster You May Not Have Heard About
Newsbusters "Several of my readers have asked me to post the following video. I cried most of the time I watched. See if you can control your emotions better than I did (video follows with a list of some charitable organizations involved in storm relief, multiple hat-tips to readers in the area):"...Noel Sheppard is the Associate Editor of NewsBusters.

Key to U.S. growth is building wealth, not entitlements
Politico "Progressives* have been reluctant to champion a pro-growth, pro-business, pro-wealth agenda — particularly in the financial meltdown of the past 18 months. But if Democrats are going to remain politically relevant and govern effectively, there are three reasons to organize around expanding the economic pie. "
* Liberals, leftists
* Liberals, leftists
"There Will Be No Apology"
RealClearPolitics "The fact is, Americans are increasingly fed up with the racially divisive, politically correct insanity pulsating through the country today. After years of being pressured and browbeaten by the left-wing PC police about what they can say, do, think, and wear, many Americans have had enough. And they're especially furious with being asked to apologize for things that aren't or shouldn't be in the least bit offensive."
OBAMAMEDIA DISTORTS ARIZONA
Nealz Nuze "OK .. we have one dead rancher in the past few week and, in case you didn't know, one shot cop. That's right ... a few days after the Arizona border protection law was signed by the governor an Arizona deputy sheriff was shot in a confrontation with illegal aliens. It's not good when illegal aliens shoot a cop, so the ObamaMedia is doing what it can to come up with an alternate story. Yup ... now we're starting to get stories that the shooting of the deputy was staged in order to gin up support for Arizona's law. Newsbusters describes the report from MSNBC: (where else?) "...
Miranda and Public Safety
Charles Krauthammer "My view is that we should treat enemy combatants as enemy combatants, whether they are U.S. citizens (Shahzad) or not (the underwear bomber). If, however, they are to be treated as ordinary criminals, then at least agree on this: no Miranda rights until we know everything that public safety demands we need to know."
The President and the Politics of Civility; Barack Obama should lead by example.
Karl Rove "If Mr. Obama is serious about his commitment to courtesy and respect, then he will need to demonstrate presidential leadership and rein in the verbal excesses of the leaders of his own party. He could start by having a conversation with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who condemned those with different views on health care as being "un-American." He might also share a word with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who recently accused Republicans of being "anti-American" and wanting to continue to "make love to Wall Street" by pressing for changes in a bill regulating the financial industry." Related, if you think about it: Lester Kinsolving: White House press corps pit bull "He did not mince words with the Bush White House. And he is not mincing words with Team Obama." Unfortunately he got a dose of White House disrespect.

Yes, Words Do Matter!
Victor Davis Hanson "Bottom line: Words matter. While we may think the “reset button”/“I’m not Bush” Obama rhetoric will win hearts and minds abroad, and give us new parameters of operations, our enemies may well look far more to words than to deeds — and see in them a radical loss of our deterrence ability. So the Hasans, Abdulmutallabs, and Shahzads of the world interpret our new philological magnanimity as weakness, regardless of whether it is or not. And that seems to me very dangerous indeed. Maybe the president can drop the “tea-bagger” slurs and forget Fox News and Rush Limbaugh, and instead warn radical Islamists to knock it off — or else."
