OBAMA'S MORBID VANITY/ David Limbaugh compares BHO's behavior to character in Nathaniel Hawthorne story

WND.com  "I recently came across Nathaniel Hawthorne’s haunting short story “Wakefield,” and I couldn’t help but notice similarities (and differences) between Wakefield and President Obama."
...."Obama’s narcissistic self-absorption is also analogous to Wakefield’s, but it’s worse. Wakefield appeared at least to have wrestled with the process of self-exploration and discovery; there was arguably some hint of self-reflection. But like a spoiled adolescent whose misdeeds have even been positively reinforced by recklessly doting parents, Obama appears to have no interest in honest self-assessment."
And the Democrat Party, the media, and the rest of the American left are all playing the part of these doting parents, smiling on a spoiled child who can do no wrong in their sight.

'POLITICAL CORRECTNESS' IS TOTALITARIAN MIND CONTROL; David Kupelian explodes left's favorite intimidation strategy

World Net Daily  "If the ongoing language war consisted solely of one man’s use of emotionally compelling catch-phrases – like Obama’s current re-election favorites (“Everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules”) and his ceaseless appeals to raw envy (attacks on “millionaires and billionaires,” “hedge-fund managers” and “oil-company executives”) – it wouldn’t be difficult for truth to prevail.

"But the political and cultural left has hijacked virtually our entire language in the last couple of generations. It has redefined many key words, phrases and concepts, changing not only the words we use, but the way we think. "
...".Likewise, “tolerance” today often amounts to not only acceptance, but virtual celebration of sexual immorality – or at the very least, an agreement not to utter or write a word of disapproval over immoral, corrupt or self-destructive behavior. However, homosexual activists condemning the “intolerance” of others are notoriously intolerant of all who hold to the millennia-old moral code of the Western world."

....

"Nobody wants to be scorned and mocked, and therefore many of us, consciously or unconsciously, avoid intimidating situations by refraining from standing up for what we really believe.
"At its core, then, political correctness is nothing more nor less than the unjust intimidation of others into thinking and speaking a certain way. As such, it is pure totalitarian mind control."

A Different Kind of 'Learning Experience' at North Rowan High

American Thinker  "Meanwhile, back in October, a teacher who "allegedly" came out on Facebook (i.e., on her own time, in her own home) against gay history month got her name plastered up and down the news sphere, with investigations in full flower.  Another teacher was suspended on similar grounds in August.
"But when you tell your students in a public school that George Bush "was sh---y" and that "people were arrested for saying things bad about Bush" (nonsense), you get full anonymity and mincing respect by the press.  A teachable moment, indeed."
Video stirs debate on teacher's actions in North class  "The nearly 10-minute video, shot by a student and uploaded to YouTube on Monday, had been viewed more than 1,000 times by Friday afternoon.
"It begins with a classroom conversation about a recent news story detailing Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney allegedly bullying a classmate in prep school. It turns into a heated, sometimes confrontational debate.
One student asks, “Didn’t Obama bully someone though?”
"The teacher responds: “Not to my knowledge.”
....
"The student replies that he’ll say what he wants.
" “Not about him you won’t,” the teacher says.
"Later in the conversation, the teacher tells the class it’s criminal to slander a president."
You have to be patient; the small talk seems to dominate.
Teacher suspended after telling students not to criticize the president  "The video, which was uploaded on May 14, had more than 178,000 views on YouTube as of Monday afternoon.  The story has been picked up by national media outlets, including Fox News and the New York Post.  Controversial radio host Rush Limbaugh discussed the issue on his radio show on Monday afternoon as well."   Via Weasel Zippers
Actually this story is about a courageous student, if you think about it. The story is about a courageous, informed student who stood up to a bully and was smart enough to get it all on tape. And look who comes out the winner here. A student outs a bully who happens to work for the government and it's now national news. Rush Limbaugh
North Carolina Incident is Perfect Storm of Educational Indoctrination, Media Malpractice "It’s a shame the student is leaving the school, and the teacher may stay. The student did nothing wrong, and if she keeps her job the teacher will remain in the classroom to bully and indoctrinate future students. This story is a wake-up call to parents, students and the millions of good teachers who are out there. We have to pay attention to what’s being said in the media, and we have to be aware of what is happening in our kids’ classrooms every day. Just as we have to have blogs to challenge and deconstruct the mainstream media’s rampant malpractice, we cannot leave education to the so-called professionals."

A look at Obama's political incubator, Chicago politics

Encyclopedia of Chicago  "The potent Democratic machine that dominated Chicago politics for nearly half a century formed under the leadership of Anton Cermak, a Bohemian immigrant of working-class origins."....
"The election of Harold Washington as the city's first black mayor in 1983 and his subsequent reelection four years later unequivocally ended Democratic machine rule in Chicago. Nor did the election to the mayoralty of Richard M. Daley, the eldest son of the deceased boss, indicate a resurrection of the machine in a new guise. As the younger Daley readily acknowledged, radically different demographics and the attendant alterations in the political calculus clearly made the machine politics for which Chicago became famous an anachronism by the end of the twentieth century."

Cook County Democratic Organization   "The Cook County Democratic Organization is one of the most powerful political machines in American history. Historically called the "Chicago Democratic machine", or simply the "Chicago Machine", the organization has dominated Chicago politics (and consequently, Illinois politics) since the 1930s. It relies on a tight organizational structure of ward committeemen and precinct captains to elect candidates."

Walter Duranty Prize for Journalistic Mendacity

Duranty
                                               Dear Friend,
As I recently teased* on my blog, PJ Media, in conjunction with our good friends at The New Criterion, will be awarding the first annual Walter Duranty Prize for Journalistic Mendacity this fall.
The intention of this award is to highlight the continuing extreme bias and misreporting of many mainstream media outlets. The prize will be given for what our readers consider the most egregious example of dishonest reporting for the fiscal year 2011-2012 (July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012).
You can submit your nominations for the first annual Duranty Prize at  http://pjmedia.com/duranty/ .
The prize is named after Walter Duranty, The New York Times' Moscow correspondent in the 1920s and 1930s who whitewashed Joseph Stalin's forced mass starvation of the Ukrainians (the Holodomor) and many other aspects of Soviet oppression.
Duranty was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1932 for his efforts. Despite numerous attempts by Ukrainian organizations and others, the prize has never been revoked. Duranty's photograph remains in its honored place on The New York Times' wall along with the newspaper's other Pulitzer winners.
We are now accepting nominations for the first annual Duranty Prize at  http://pjmedia.com/duranty/. A Duranty Prize Committee of seven journalists and writers -- including Peter Collier, Roger Kimball, Cliff May, Ron Radosh, Glenn Reynolds, Claudia Rosett and me -- will review the nominations and decide the winner (or winners) to be announced at a ceremony in New York in the fall.
Click here submit your nominations for the first annual Walter Duranty Prize for Journalistic Mendacity. And please invite your friends to submit their nominations, too.

Sincerely,
 Roger L. Simon

Communist-starved Ukrainians
Holodomor   "Stalin’s cruel methods included the allocation of astronomic grain requisition quotas that were impossible to meet and which left nothing for the local population to eat. When the quotas were missed, armed units were sent in. Toward the end of 1932, entire villages and regions were turned into a system of isolated starvation ghettos called “black boards.” Throughout this period, the Soviet Union continued to export grain to the west and even used grain to produce alcohol. By early 1933, the Soviet leadership decided to radically reinforce the blockade of Ukrainian villages. Eventually, the whole territory of Ukraine was surrounded by armed forces, turning the entire country into a vast death camp.

Mayor uses billionaire conservative Joe Ricketts to show how political pressure is applied the Chicago Way

Chicago Tribune "Ricketts' mistake? He's not a fan of President Barack Obama. So Joe Ricketts considered putting $10 million into a political campaign tying the controversial and racially charged rhetoric of Obama's former pastor — the Rev. Jeremiah Wright — to the president seeking re-election.

"Ricketts' children own the Cubs. And now their multimillion-dollar proposal to refurbish decrepit Wrigley Field — mostly with their own money but also with revenue from the city amusement tax — is in jeopardy.
"City Hall has made that clear, putting out the word that The Rahmfather won't even return their calls in the wake of Joe Ricketts considering — but deciding not to bankroll — an ad blitz against Obama.
...."I've said before that Obama will win re-election. But the way to go after Obama isn't to tie him to old Rev. Wright or to elderly revolutionaries like Bill Ayers. The way to do it is to tie him to Chicago politics. But Republicans can't risk it.
"Democrats run the politics here. But Republicans — particularly the big-money corporate types — go along and feed the Combine beast. ....
"Republicans might have businesses here. And they might live in America.
"But they eat in Chicago."
Joe Ricketts’s Retreat From Obama Attack Campaign: Are the Chicago Cubs to Blame?  "Joe Ricketts was reported to be an architect of a major anti-Obama campaign invoking Jeremiah Wright. Within hours, he’d backed off. James Warren on why the Chicago Cubs may be to blame."

: Democrats have made it very clear that they will get their revenge on anyone who dares to attack President Obama

The Enemy Within; Since the end of the Cold War, America has been on a relentless search for enemies. But the real dangers are at home.

FOREIGN POLICY   "By far, the greatest threats to the United States right now are internal ones -- like that Big Mac. They don't come from terrorists. They come from political obstructionists and know-nothings who are blocking needed economic and political reforms, whether fixing a health-care system that poses a debt threat many times greater than the immense U.S. budget deficit or tackling the growing inequality in American society or overhauling the United States' money-corrupted, dysfunctional political process.

"If America stopped searching for goblins under the bed, it might actually be able to reset its economic priorities and start investing in the things that would make the country stronger, more prosperous, and safer again, from infrastructure to energy security to better schools. What's more, Americans might find that a foreign policy that identified real risks but kept them in perspective and was more about deepening ties, finding common ground, and avoiding unnecessary conflict would work better than the tired us vs. them formulations of the recent past."

Marco Rubio: Obama Is Most “Divisive Figure In Modern American History”

Let's visit Joe Biden's world for a bit, shall we?

Weasel Zippers   RNC rubs Biden's nose in his own words:

Bill Kristol: Why Not the Best?   "So we sincerely suggest to President Obama: Dump Joe Biden."
...."President Obama’s Barnard speech looks like the beginning of an “evolution,” which will culminate with his dumping Joe Biden and elevating a woman who has worked hard and played by the rules—Hillary Clinton.
"Why not the best for President Obama and the Democratic party? And how much more will victory be worth having this November when it’s a victory over the liberal dream team of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton?"  Thanks for nothing, Bill. Lock up the interns.

Obama: Stop Condescending to Women

You knew they would print this,
 didn't you?
NY Times, er...wait! What?  "I have always admired President Obama and I agree with him on some issues, like abortion rights. But the promise of his campaign four years ago has given way to something else — a failure to connect with tens of millions of Americans, many of them women, who feel economic opportunity is gone and are losing hope. In an effort to win them back, Mr. Obama is trying too hard. He’s employing a tone that can come across as grating and even condescending. He really ought to drop it. Most women don’t want to be patted on the head or treated as wards of the state. They simply want to be given a chance to succeed based on their talent and skills. To borrow a phrase from our president’s favorite president, Abraham Lincoln, they want “an open field and a fair chance.”

"In the second decade of the 21st century, that isn’t asking too much."

Victor Davis Hanson: Presidential Narcissism  "The logic of the narcissistic mind in matters of the war on terror works out something like this:"....
...."In other words, I worry that Vladimir Putin, the Iranian theocrats, the North Korean apparat, the Chinese central committee, the Muslim Brotherhood, and all the others who detest the United States have sized up Barack Obama. For 40 months they have acknowledged that his postracial image and his youthful charisma, as David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs rightly insisted, threw them for a loop — for a while. And that “for a while” is now ending, replaced with a new belief abroad that the more Obama talks about himself and his team, and the more emphatic he becomes with his “Make no mistake about it” and “Let me be perfectly clear” vacuities, the more he can at first safely be ignored, and then, quite soon, safely be taken advantage of.

"The problem with a narcissistic president is not just that he sees the world as all about himself, but that the world soon sees that it is not about him at all."
