Hearing Voices

President Obama had this to say about his shellacking last week:
“To everyone who voted, I want you to know that I hear you. To the two-thirds of voters who chose not to participate in the process yesterday, I hear you, too.”
Jared Rizzi of Sirius XM was curious about the nonvoting voices Obama hears. Rizzi asked WH spokesman Josh Earnest if the president is “leader of a coalition that doesn’t vote?”.

 Voices

Based on Obama’s obsession with rule by fiat he does appear driven by voices that don’t vote. He insists he’ll impose immigration reform by executive action if Congress doesn’t give him what he wants right now. Speaker Boehner, a voice for those who do vote, says that would “poison the well”.
Maybe well poisoning is the objective. In 2010 Obama told latinos to punish our enemies and reward our friends. After all, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough tells us Washington would “work better if Obama has his way”.

Gruber's goobers: couldn't have done it without them, he says.

Nancy Pelosi Walks into the #Grubergate Buzzsaw "Pelosi might as well have waved a red flag in front of a target as a starting gun went off. Gruber "wasn't writing" the health care bill? No one said he was, only that he helped walk Democrats through the crafting of the various bills that became the Affordable Care Act."

... "Political actors are constantly at war over the past, because they know that it defines the present.
Pelosi and her ilk, though, are not interested in discovering the past, but in controlling it —
and in having the leisure to reshape it whenever convenient.

"Who? Said what? Well, that was a long time ago, and, besides, it never happened anyway."

... "H. L. Mencken famously wrote that no one has “ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people.” Or, Gruber might add, ever failed to pass major social legislation by doing the same."...
I totally reject that statement because, er, um.....well...
Rather than congratulating themselves on their cleverness, the law’s architects might better reflect on how, even with crushing majorities in the House and the Senate, they had to lie and obfuscate to get Obamacare passed. That is damning commentary, not on the American public, but on their misbegotten handiwork.

In depth: The Jon Gruber controversy and what it means for Obamacare, explained

Vox  (Yes, I said VOX) By way of  Lucianne.

... "The videos have not been flattering for Gruber. And, perhaps more consequentially, they have breathed new life into the Obamacare opposition effort. Republican legislators are exploring the possibility of hearings about Gruber, the Washington Post reported Wednesday. As Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) put it, "This gives us ammunition to make fundamental changes to the law."
"This all comes at a moment when the Affordable Care Act is once again vulnerable....The Gruber videos are arguably the best ammo critics have right now to paint the law as ambiguous, sloppy, and passed under false pretenses — and they're trying to make the most of that.

"Here's a quick guide to who Jonathan Gruber is, why he's at the center of this controversy, and what it means for the future of Obamacare."  Full article with videos here.
Gruber received $400,000 in federal grants to work on Obamacare
... Why is he back in the spotlight now?
Over the past few months, Obamacare opponents have surfaced multiple video clips that fall into two categories: Gruber lending support to the new Supreme Court case against Obamacare and Gruber saying that the "stupidity of the American voter" helped the law pass.

"Although the mainstream media as a whole (with few exceptions) is covering up the damning video of ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber openly discussing all the lies and deceit surrounding passage of President Obama's signature domestic achievement, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi forced the Washington Post's hand on the matter Thursday when she was caught lying about not knowing Gruber. (Emphases in the original)

"I don't know who [Gruber] is," Pelosi told reporters Thursday. "He didn't help write our bill."

"The only problem with that claim is the Post's discovery that in November of 2009, Pelosi gushed over Gruber by name. Here's the video. The transcript is below:" ...

Liberal haters attack Dana Loesch after debate with Ed Schultz: 'Drop dead soon'

Ed Schultz angrily confronts Dana Loesch on MSNBC, sparking profane hate from liberals.

"After a heated debate with MSNBC's Ed Schultz, conservative talk show host Dana Loesch found herself the target of liberal hate mail. A great deal of what Loesch posted on Thursday is far too profane to quote directly, but one hater was quite explicit, telling Loesch to "drop dead soon."

" 'You deserve to have your tongue fed to a dog and concrete poured down your throat until it comes out your bloody (expletive deleted)," the message said. "Drop dead soon, my dog and I would like to get in line" to defecate in her grave, the letter added in far more profane language than we can use here.

HOAX - 'Belgium Mayor Explains Why he Refused to Ban Pork From School Canteens'

"Circulating message features a strident letter supposedly sent to parents by Marc Duvivier, the mayor of the Belgium municipality of Ath, explaining why he refused to give in to demands from local Muslims to remove pork from school canteen menus."
Sorry, but it just is not true. TD

Hoax Slayer
Message is a Hoax - No such Demands Were Made - No Letter Sent
However, the message is just a nasty hoax.   Mayor Duvivier did not write the letter and it was not sent to local parents by the municipality as claimed.

In fact, the mayor has denied that any requests to remove pork from school canteens were received in the first place.  Mayor Duvivier issued a denial back in 2013 when the hoax first began circulating, noting that the claims were lies. He
stated that:
[N]o person of any nationality or ethnic group whatsoever, have made such a request to the municipal services, with Mr. Bruno Boel, Municipal Secretary, or myself.
It is unclear who started the false rumour. Given that the supposed Muslim demands to ban pork from canteens were never made, and the mayor did not write or send the letter, this message has no credibility whatsoever and should not be circulated.

Such false information can foster bigotry and hatred within communities and sharing it will serve no good purpose.

Krauthammer; The Gruber Confession

Charles Krauthammer

... " Remember: The whole premise of Obamacare was that it would help the needy, but if you were not in need, if you liked what you had, you would be left alone. Which is why Obama kept repeating — PolitiFact counted 31 times — that “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.' ”...

... "But of course you couldn’t, as millions discovered when they were kicked off their plans last year. Millions more were further shocked when they discovered major hikes in their premiums and deductibles. It was their wealth that was being redistributed.

... "But now we know what lay behind Obama’s smooth reassurances — the arrogance of an academic liberalism, so perfectly embodied in the Gruber Confession, that rules in the name of a citizenry it mocks, disdains and deliberately, contemptuously deceives."   Full article

Legal Insurrection   "On airport televisions nationwide a news agency known as CNN is reporting that black shop owners near the site of ongoing protests in Ferguson MO are boarding up their shops. The reason? Fear of losing their businesses to renewed rioting, looting, and arson following the anticipated decision of the Grand Jury to not indict Police Officer Darren Wilson over the shooting death of Mike Brown.

"Local black hair shop owner Constance Garnett is boarding up her shop.  She fears the loss of the business it took her 11 years to build to a few angry hours worth of petulant, violent rioting:

American Thinker:  Former Muslim sounding the alarm  "Asked whether there is such a thing as moderate Islam, Fawstin said: “No. There is only Islam. Islam is immoderate by nature.”

"Fawstin spoke of how very few leaders speak the truth about Islam.  In fact, essentially no leaders, as he pointed out that even Allen West has softened his language and that while Ted Cruz uses the word “jihad,” he never speaks about “Islam.” Thomas Lifson.  More here.

Islam doesn't make our Islamic enemy believe they're going to win, Islamophilic Western politicians make them believe they're going to win.

Fawstin asks, Will Christians Kill Me for Drawing Jesus?    "No. As even atheist and religion critic Bill Maher says in the below video, unlike Muslims, "Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you draw a picture of Jesus Christ you should get killed for it." As a way of saying that Islam and its true believers are the Major problem today."

Commentaries on the ObamaCare bait-and-switch

First, lets define "bait and switch"   "FRAUD IS A FEDERAL CRIME - A FELONY:"
  • ... under the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, the selling ploy of a particular establishment is liable of facing legal action against bait and switch fraud if:
  • The advertised product is not shown or sold in agreement with the offer's precise terms
  • The advertised product displayed is defective or impractical for the purposed implied in the advertisement.
  • The advertised product is strongly criticized or lied about- either regarding the product's guarantee, credit terms, production value, service and repair availability, etc- in hopes of "upselling" to another "better" product.   Full IBA article here.

Jonathan Gruber's Freudian Slip  Recap, in case you hadn't heard:
"In a recent forum on healthcare and economics hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, Jonathan Gruber made the following statement about ObamaCare:
This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. Okay, so it’s written to do that. In terms of risk-rated subsidies, if you had a law which said that healthy people are going to pay in -- you made explicit healthy people pay in and sick people get money, it would not have passed… Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass… Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.   More here.

NYT On Gruber: Everybody Lies To Get Legislation Passed

NRO: Calling Me Stupid   ... "Arrogance and condescension have too often characterized the attitudes of the current administration and their proponents. But the fact is, the American public is not stupid when it comes to Obamacare, and they are not deceived. Understanding this clunker and not liking it is precisely why this law has never been popular."
..."My patient with a thyroid problem couldn’t afford the necessary ultrasound and antibody tests to better understand her condition before Obamacare, and she can’t afford them now, either, because of her large deductible."

; Obamacare's Foundation of Lies  ... "I strongly support bipartisan efforts to expand the availability of health coverage to the working poor, and bending the cost curve that threatens federal budgets for years to come. While I think President Obama and congressional Democrats helped contribute to the 2009 standoff over what became the Affordable Care Act, I've openly rooted for Obamacare's success. I've denounced the knee-jerk opposition from the GOP, a party that once embraced key elements of Obamacare. My ideology is amorphous; I am not "on the right."

"All of that, and yet: Gruber's remarks struck a nerve with me."

Bad Month for Obamacare   ..."With Republicans taking control of the Senate and expanding their majority in the House, we can expect an onslaught of bills to repeal the law or cut out important parts of it. While the presidential veto will likely prevent full repeal, the law’s supporters can expect to spend the next two years fighting a defensive war."

Who are you calling “stupid?”... "The people tried desperately to make their anti-Obamacare wishes known, but the Democratic members of Congress who were in the majority at the time refused to listen. Their leaders whipped them into line, and although a few were allowed to vote against, Pelosi and Reid made sure there wouldn’t be enough of them voting “nay” to actually derail the bill."
