Progressives’ Anti-Christian Bigotry Helped Make Trump President

National Review

"They have only themselves to blame for driving away millions of Evangelicals."
. . . "There is a pervasive feeling among American Christians that secular progressives will actively seek out new and creative ways to persecute and marginalize them."
. . .
"Millions of American Christians understand that if you work for a state or local governments — or even for private companies — publicly vocalizing traditional Christian views of sexual morality can cost you your job, even as outspoken support for radically new sexual morality is lauded. If you start a Christian group on campus, administrators by the hundreds will deem you “discriminatory” and “bigoted” for daring to assert that it should be run by Christians. Meanwhile, liberal activist groups operate with impunity, often coordinating their well-funded efforts with university administrators and faculty."
. . .
"If you’re a Christian who runs a business, you’re exactly one decision or one statement away not just from vicious social-media shame campaigns and boycotts but also from vengeful state action that could close your store and bankrupt your family.

"If you’re a Christian applying for a job in higher education, you can expect doors to be slammed in your face, less-qualified candidates to enjoy greater opportunities, and hostile faculties and administrations to sometimes ask probing or even illegal questions about your “bigotry.' ”

Anti-Trump Protesters Release Personal Info of Electoral College Members

Weasel Zippers

"We reported how a google spreadsheet was first posted by Twitter account, @VoteHillary2016 whose admin is Steve Rosinki, a man connected to the Clinton campaign. Shortly thereafter, reports started coming in of electors being harassed and intimidated. It appears the spreadsheet has made it down to the rank and file to continue harassing the electors.

A national anti-Donald Trump group called the #NotMyPresident Alliance distributed the personal information of dozens of Electoral College members to its supporters on Wednesday through a Google doc spreadsheet.
The Electoral College members targeted were those who represented states that voted Republican, BuzzFeed reported.
A spreadsheet distributed to supporters Wednesday included the personal phone numbers, addresses, religions, races, genders, and candidate preference of the electors. The document does not have a complete set of data on every elector.
The group hopes that its members and citizens around the country will contact electors and persuade them to change their vote from Donald Trump to another candidate before Dec. 19, when electors cast their votes. The group does not advocate for Hillary Clinton or any other specific candidate, rather asking protesters to encourage electors from each state to a consensus that isn’t Trump.

ESPN’s Public Editor Agrees With Viewers That Network ‘Has Moved Leftward’

....when a company as influential as ESPN picks up and moves an event because of statements made by a presidential candidate, it’s hard to see how it can be read by anyone as anything other than a political statement.

Newsbusters "ESPN Public Editor Jim Brady on Election Eve surveyed complaints that the sports network had gone overboard with liberal pieties, frustrating long-time watchers by injecting politics onto the plahing field. He agreed with conservative complaints that ESPN had shifted leftward, though the company brass and at least one outspoken lefty personality didn’t see a problem: "One notion that virtually everyone I spoke to at ESPN dismisses is what some have perceived as unequal treatment of conservatives who make controversial statements vs. liberals who do the same.' "
. . .
"Brady talked to ESPN President John Skipper, who painted the progressive politics as noncontroversial tolerance:
Inside ESPN, however, some feel the lack of tolerance of a particular political philosophy is a problem.
"We've done a great job of diversity,” said longtime ESPN anchor Bob Ley. “But the one place we have miles to go is diversity of thought."
Many ESPN employees I talked to -- including liberals and conservatives, most of whom preferred to speak on background -- worry that the company’s politics have become a little too obvious, empowering those who feel as if they’re in line with the company’s position and driving underground those who don’t.
“If you’re a Republican or conservative, you feel the need to talk in whispers,” one conservative ESPN employee said. “There’s even a fear of putting Fox News on a TV [in the office].”

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper submits resignation

Red State  . . . "We can only hope that he doesn’t injure himself leaving the building because his handling of the national defense establishment has been nothing but clumsy, maladroit, and bordering on criminally incompetent. It was Clapper’s DNI that failed to detect an impending attack on Benghazi and then excised all mention of al Qaeda and terrorism from Susan Rice’s infamous talking points. Any demurral Clapper had about the Obama administration’s Arab Spring disaster was well hidden. Clapper’s DNI was, to all appearances, blind-sided by ISIS and intelligence estimates were apparently cooked in order to let the White House pat itself on the back for the kick-ass job it was doing. Most shameful, though, was Clapper’s deliberately lying to Congress over the extent of NSA’s eavesdropping on US citizens:" . . .

FREAKOUT AMONG THE TALKING HEADS

Power Line   "I think we should recognize the ongoing freakout among the talking heads and reporters in the mainstream media in response to the victory of Donald Trump and the defeat of Hillary Clinton. The Media Research Center’s NewsBuster compiled the video clips below documenting the election night and day-after freakout. It is full of mind-numbing vulgarity, but Chris Matthews takes the cake with this G-rated comment (at 1:00): “This is a different earth today than it was 24 hours ago.” To change up the old insult, Chris Matthews doesn’t know his leg from the earth. Or as B.B. King might put it, the thrill — the thrill up his leg — is gone."

America's date with Obama

David Lawrence  "In 2008, America had a date with Barack Obama.  He was beautiful, exotic (half- black).  Our citizens went out with him as if they were homely Americans who had the chance to date a rock star.
He was the answer to their loneliness.  He was surprise magnificence culled from the rock of a new transparency.
"And we (not me – I'm not looking for false idols) kneeled before his teleprompter clichés and thought he was going to bring us all together in a communal dance of love.
"And as he undermined our original impression of him, we were too blind to see his failures.  We did not see his self-hatred in his returning the bust of Churchill to England.  We didn't hear the undermining jihadism in his Cairo speech.  We didn't feel the anti-Semitism in his disrespect for Netanyahu.  We didn't sense his cowardice in his praising the peacefulness of Muslims or the rise of ISIS in his pulling our troops out of Iraq.
"We didn't sense the new racism between blacks and whites in Ferguson and Baltimore.  We didn't try to stop his turning cops from bulwarks against crime into targets.
"We believed that he was trying to help blacks when he lowered their standard of living.  The white middle class went along with him.
"And we didn't think there was anything wrong when he turned our sexual identities on their head and promoted redefining marriage and people choosing the men's or the ladies' bathroom as they see fit.
"We didn't realize that our children would suffer under his twenty-trillion-dollar debt.
"We didn't notice these things because he was so dynamic and fantastic that we were in love.  And love makes bad choices.  It often attracts opposites.
"Obama was the opposite of civilization, and he tore down a great, successful nation.  Like Pete Townsend in The Who, he tore down our nation and broke our guitars."

Drown Out the Lying MSM

Media Bias
American Thinker  "Imagine you have a neighboring family who initiates a relationship by bringing you freshly baked cookies. You go on to have 4th of July barbecues at their home, and your families become close. Over time, you begin to trust one another for favors, such as letting the dogs out, watching the kids, or picking up the mail while you are away. Then, out of nowhere, your friends begin having personal troubles and descend into alcoholism, financial turmoil, and audible domestic disputes. Your daughter comes home early from playing at this family’s home because she saw the husband come unglued at his wife and daughter. Your son tells you that his friend, this family’s son, is covered in bruises and won’t explain where they came from. What do you do? While hoping for the best and praying for reconciliation, the wise man would distance his family from this unstable one if unable to intervene successfully.

"Such is the conservative’s relationship to the American mainstream media. Older readers may remember an era when the media generally reported facts and left spin to the mind of the viewer, or at least wasn’t so crookedly biased."  . . .

Trump's Bizarre Winning Formula

Victor Davis Hanson

Trump's Bizarre Winning Formula

"First, the Democrats gave Trump a great gift by completing the ongoing radicalization of their party under President Obama. After 2008, it was no longer a party of the working and middle classes, but a lopsided political pyramid.

"On top were the cynical elites who turned up in the WikiLeaks John Podesta email trove: self-important media members, Ivy League grandees, Silicon Valley billionaires, Wall Street plutocrats and coastal corridor snobs. They talk left-wing but live royally. They court minorities to vote in lockstep, then deride them in private. The vast lower tier of the party comprises government employees, the poor, minorities, and the millions dependent on state and federal assistance. The Democrats in between were ignored, and so they kept fleeing the party. Look at the red/blue map of the election. Democratic strength retreated to the inner cities and the rich coastal suburbs.

Political Cartoons by Bob Gorrell

"The Democrats also, in suicidal fashion, stoked racial chauvinism, or the notion that one's tribe should transcend all other affiliations. After pandering to various minority groups, Hillary Clinton apparently believed that they suddenly would forget her emphasis on race and ethnicity to vote for her, a 69-year-old white multimillionaire." . . .

What if Donald Trump did Move the American Embassy to Jerusalem?

Legal Insurrection

A chance to expose the world’s hypocrisy about Israel and peace.

Jerusalem Day Western Wall 1

"Miriam Elman had an excellent post on Sunday on the possibility that, once inaugurated as president, Donald Trump would do what none of his predecessors ever did despite their promises and move the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, Israel’s capital.

"The reason that Bill Clinton and George W. Bush never followed the law calling for moving the embassy because the law has a waiver provision, allowing the president not to move the embassy if he deems the move to threaten the national security.

"The foreign policy smart set says that the president can’t do this because it will hurt the United States in the Arab world or because it would show the Palestinians that the United States is on Israel’s side or that it would prejudge the terms of any final deal between Israel and the Palestinians.

"However, over the past eight years, President Barack Obama has put daylight between the United States and Israel, because as he put it, according to The Washington Post, “When there is no daylight, Israel just sits on the sidelines, and that erodes our credibility with the Arab states.” During Obama’s two terms in office there has been daylight and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has been no more inclined to make peace with Israel during the past eight years than he was during the tenure of President George W. Bush.

"I’m no diplomat so I don’t know what the proper words are but if Trump is to move the embassy perhaps he could say something like this:" . . .

LITERALLY SHAKING

"Unfortunately, the rest of America wasn't large enough for Democrats to win elections. So they had to import Third World immigrants to vote for them. "
Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

Ann Coulter  "Until the nationwide protests of the last few days, I had no idea how bad the problem was, but our nation is drowning in drama queenery.

"The immediate reaction of most celebrities to Trump's victory was: "THE WORLD IS WAITING FOR MY TAKE ON THE ELECTION!”

"Aaron Sorkin and David Remnick, in matching pink housecoats and fuzzy slippers, wrote hysterical jeremiads about the cataclysm of Trump's election.

"Sorkin was especially irked that Trump was supported by white men who don't appreciate rap music. As proof that the end was near, he triumphantly reported: "The Dow futures dropped 700 points overnight."

"After a brief drop, the Dow surged to historic highs, recording its biggest weekly gain in five years.
. . .
"But I can't wait to read the letters these guys wrote to their children about Bill Clinton! Don't leave us hanging guys -- post those, too, please.
. . .
This is why the snowflakes are smashing windows, beating up Trump supporters and calling for the assassination of Trump and the rape of his wife. If you've ever wondered how France's Reign of Terror happened, observe the anti-Trump protests — the main result of which is to convince people who had misgivings about voting for Trump that they did the right thing.

"Trump is denounced for his alleged "racism, homophobia, sexism, anti-Semitism, Islamaphobia!”

"No one stops to think: Wait a minute! These are all groups Trump has showered with affection, with the exception of Muslim immigrants -- who persecute the other four. " . . .

Oregon Official who Bullied Christian Bakery Loses Election

Todd Starnes

"An Oregon bureaucrat who waged political jihad against the owners of a Christian bakery was given the heave-ho by voters.
"Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian was defeated in his bid to be Secretary of State by Republican Dennis Richardson.
"It’s the first time a Republican has been elected to a statewide office in Oregon since 2002.
"So consider this – Avakian was too liberal for what is arguably one of the most liberal states in the country.
"Avakian, a passionate advocate for the LGBTQIA crowd, was thrust into the national spotlight when he declared war on a Christian bakery in 2013.
"Aaron and Melissa Klein, the owners of Sweet Cakes By Melissa, declined to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple’s ceremony.
"The Kleins, who are devout Christians, explained that participating in a same-sex wedding would violate their deeply-held religious beliefs.
"Avakian launched a very public and very ugly assault on the Klein family – alleging they had discriminated about the lesbian couple.
"They faced boycotts and picket lines and other wedding vendors were threatened with similar action if they did business with Sweet Cakes.
"The family’s young children received death threats and the store’ssocial networking platforms were overrun by militant LGBT activists posting obscene and profane messages.
"The Kleins were eventually ordered to pay $135,000 in “emotional damages” to the lesbians.
"They were also forced to shutter their retail location – and eventually shut down their family bakery.
“ 'The goal is never to shut down a business. The goal is to rehabilitate,” Avakian told The Oregonian in 2013.
"Avakian was just as ruthless in his attacks on a Portland bar that turned away transgender patrons.  The owner of the Twilight Room Annex did not want his establishment to be known as a “gay bar.”
"The bar was slapped with a $400,000 judgment and was forced to shut down.
"The Kleins are represented by First Liberty Institute, one of the nation’s most prominent religious liberty law firms. They are appealing the fines levied by Avakian’s office." . . .
