Get Up Off Your Knees

Michelle Malkin  "Dear law-abiding Americans,
"You have done nothing wrong.
"Being white is not a crime. Being a Trump voter is not a crime. Being a police officer sworn to “protect and serve” every day is not a crime. Being a non-white police officer proud to uphold and enforce law and order is not a crime. Being a black or brown or yellow American who rejects excuse-making for criminals is not a crime.
"Rejecting collective guilt is not a crime. Refusing to acknowledge “white privilege” when you were born poor, or in a broken home, or with physical or psychological challenges, is not a crime. Embracing the historic American nation, instead of erasing it, is not a crime.
"Enforcing your private property rights is not a crime. Teaching your wife and children to use a gun in self-defense is not a crime. Owning an AR-15 or two is not a crime.
"Do not let the media, Hollywood, academics, or politicians gaslight you. Stop internalizing lies. Who are the criminals? Who are the heroes? Who are the makers and keepers of peace? Who are the sowers and reapers of hate?
"The Proud Boys who have guarded their communities and country for the past three years, were lone citizen soldiers in the battle against Antifa that no one else on the ground wanted to fight. The group and its leader, Gavin McInnes, have suffered greatly for trying to stop the violence now raging nationwide. McInnes has been deplatformed everywhere and falsely labeled a “white supremacist.” Scores of Proud Boys of all colors have lost their jobs after being doxxed by Antifa vigilantes. Two Proud Boys are in prison, railroaded by New York Democrats, after a Kafkaesque trial in which the cop-hating Antifa “victims” who lured the Proud Boys into an October 2018 street brawl refused to press charges or testify.
"Their crime? These unapologetic Americans stood on their feet, not on their knees." . . .

Loony Tunes Live, Radical Edition

Officials in Madison, Wisconsin ordered police officers to “stand down” during the rioting in that city, forcing them to watch as criminals damaged or destroyed dozens of businesses and defaced the memorial to fallen law enforcement officers near the state capitol.
NY Post  This will help with the big-city murders.
Intellectual Takeout  “ 'Those whom the gods would destroy they first make mad.”
That warning comes to us as an ancient Greek proverb. You remember the ancient Greeks, right? Those guys we once considered some of the founding fathers of Western civilization before our academic institutions tossed them and all the other dead white men out the door?
"Well, the gods are partying hardy these days. Reports of the mad among us arrive so thick and fast on the Internet that some commentators wonder whether all of America has collectively lost its marbles. As for me, I have only to look at my friends, family, and neighbors to disagree, though I might add that the nutters are driving the rest of us a little crazy with their lunatic thoughts and actions.
"Let’s look at just a few of these round-the-bend folks.
"Warner Brothers recently announced that Elmer Fudd of Loony Tunes fame would no longer carry a firearm during his future hunts of Bugs Bunny. Instead, he’ll carry a scythe. Gun violence, don’t you know. But a scythe? Who hunts rabbits with a scythe?
"In the wake of riots, burning, and looting, the Minneapolis City Council voted to disband its police department. It’s doubtful whether Minnesota’s population of 75,000 Somalis, or the rest of the state, really want Minneapolis transformed into Mogadishu. Other cities, all progressive bastions, are also exploring ways to defund the police.
"In Cary, North Carolina, three white police officers and other white attendees washed the feet of black faith leaders to express “humility and love.” Across the nation other whites have knelt before blacks asking their forgiveness. Black podcaster David J Harris’ objection to such abject submission is a powerful message." . . .
. . . "J. K. Rowling instigated a ruckus when she mocked a headline using the words “people who menstruate.” She tweeted, “‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a name for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?” Unlike so many others, when the radicals flew in on their broomsticks, screeching she had offended transgenders, Rowling refused to back down or offer an apology. She represents one island of sanity in our sea of madness." . . .

Democrats Blame Racism To Deflect Attention From Failures Of Cities They've Run For 50 Years

Tony Branco
Real Clear Politics  "Bob Woodson, founder of the Woodson Center, joins Tucker Carlson with insight on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight.'

" 'In the past 50 years, $22 trillion has been spent on poverty programs. Seventy percent goes not to the poor but those who serve poor people," he said. "So many of those people taking office use this money to create a class of people who are running these cities, and now after 50 years of liberal Democrats running the inner cities, where we have all of these inequities that we have, race is being used as a ruse, as a means of deflecting attention away from critical questions such as why are poor blacks failing in systems run by their own people?"

" 'It's more class than it is race ... and now race is being used to deflect attention away from the failures of people running those institutions," he added. "The question is why are black kids failing in school systems run by their own people?"

" 'When Eric Holder was a U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C., a lot of young people were shot by the police, but they were black police shooting black kids and not one was prosecuted. But there was no public outcry because as long as illegality or evil wears a black face, then it escapes detection and that's what's wrong with looking life through the prism of race."

" 'I don't know what systemic racism is. Maybe someone can explain what that means," he said." . . .

Case in point:  Don Lemon: White Men Denying Systemic Racism Is Essence Of White Entitlement, That Is "Whitemansplaining"
. . . "Listen, I'm just going to say it," Lemon told viewers. "I'm just going to say this stuff from now on and I'm not going to like kowtow to you know, people that say black folks, white folks, whatever and whisper 'white people, black people.' We don't have to whisper anymore, I'm just going to say it." . . .

UPDATED: Defunding of Police Could Lead to Truckers Refusing to Deliver

Reginald Denny! Say his name!

The Epoch Times  "In a recent poll by CDLLife—the largest community for truck drivers—77 percent of truckers said they will refuse to deliver to cities that had defunded their police departments." . . .

. . . "Trucking expert Dan Doran indicated “truckers and trucking companies will be quick to refuse service to these areas if trouble arises.”
“Truckers were already getting nervous about all these protests before they even started talking about defunding the police,” Doran told TNN.
Doran has been working in the transportation service for over 40 years and was chairman of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) in 2018. He said that companies in certain areas that want to receive their load safely will likely be forced to “beef up security.”
“A good customer may tell a good carrier that they’ll provide them some security to get them into the city limits… some kind of an escort,” Doran said. “I think any reputable carrier is going to listen to that concern and take steps to help the driver become more comfortable going in there,” he added" . . .   Hat tip to Doane Barile

UPDATE: Truck Drivers Say They Won’t Deliver To Cities with Defunded Police Departments  . . . "To date, 77% of drivers say they will refuse loads to cities with disbanded or defunded police departments.
"Here are some of their responses:
“…if something was to happen and you have to take matters into your own hands, and then you risk being prosecuted for protecting yourself.”“This is not an area you need to act fearless and think you you’d look like a fool for saying no…Imagine what kind of fool you look like for driving into a hot spot and putting your life in danger.”
A Fantasy With a Predictable Ending
Unlike traditional homeless shelters, people who stayed at the hotel were allowed to bring drugs and alcohol on-site.
"What could go wrong?
But some residents at the hotel said conditions had begun to spin out of control in recent days, with people injecting heroin and methamphetamine in the hallways, and fights breaking out at night. Volunteers became overwhelmed.
“It started out well, then descended into chaos,” said Jennie Taylor, who had a room on the second floor. “People got the message that this was a place where you could use drugs freely and that attracted the wrong crowd.”
The hotel lobby in pre-riot days:

The Minneapolis Star Tribune cheered the lawlessness.
When Democrats rule over us. Elections matter!

Scott Adams has had a brilliant insight about the demand for reparations

"When you are in a group, the group energy takes over"

Andrea Widburg  "Whenever Democrats push race to the forefront of the news, reparations pop up. The theory is that, because their forebearers were kidnapped from Africa and enslaved in America, blacks will never catch up economically to whites. It doesn’t matter that there are no slaves or slaveowners today; that most whites are not descended from slaveowners; or that racism impoverished, rather than enriched the South.

" 'Scott Adams’ brilliant insight cuts through all this: The comparison isn’t between black wealth and white wealth in America. Instead, the comparison must be the difference between black’s average net worth in America versus black’s average net worth in Africa. After all, the act of stealing blacks from Africa is the “but for cause” of all wrongs done to blacks.
" 'Adams imagines a neutral space alien calculating reparations. He informs earthlings that black versus white net worth in America isn’t the correct calculation:" . . .
. . .  "Adams is correct. Keith Richburg’s Out Of America: A Black Man Confronts Africa, about his job as the Washington Post’s bureau chief in the 1990s, proves it. Richburg's painful realization as he witnessed the daily horrors of life in Africa, whether from Nature’s or man’s cruelty, was how lucky he was that his ancestors were enslaved: . . ."
Their words, not mine, but they do add to your body of knowledge, like it or not.

San Francisco transit agency to no longer transport police to George Floyd protests

Agents of change!

Fox News  "The San Francisco Municipal Transporation Agency announced Tuesday it will no longer transport San Francisco Police Department officers to protests over the death of George Floyd after photos and videos on social media showed buses filled with officers in riot gear.
"The agency first said, ‘We transport everyone at MTA and make sure our services are available for critical needs.”
"But this week, the agency said it wanted to be “agents of change.”
"Along with no longer conveying officers to “anti-police brutality protests,” SFMTA said in a statement posted on Twitter, it plans to “advance our agency-wide implicit bias training and other equity trainings that provide us with personal/professional tools to address the agency’s and our own bias to ensure that all are heard and included in our future.' ” . . .

The Government Of San Francisco Is Now Prohibiting Cops From Using The Bus To Get To Protests

The Fascists Are After William Jacobson [Updated]

"We are living in extraordinarily dangerous times, reminiscent of the Chinese Communist Cultural Revolution, in which professors guilty of wrongthink were publicy denounced and fired at the behest of students who insist on absolute ideological orthodoxy."
Power Line  "William Jacobson is the proprietor of Legal Insurrection, an excellent and highly successful web site. He has made major contributions to a number of news stories, focused primarily but not exclusively on legal matters. Jacobson is a clinical law professor at Cornell.
"Until now, he has been able to keep his conservative web site separate from the left-wing milieu in which he works. But in the current moment, conservatives are under frenzied attack everywhere. William’s “crime” was criticizing the Black Lives Matter organization, which now, apparently, may not be questioned. He writes:
From Saturday, June 6, through Monday, June 8, over 15 emails from [Cornell Law School] alumni were received by the Dean of the law school, demanding that action be taken against me ranging from an institutional statement denouncing me to firing. …
The effort appears coordinated, as some of the emails were in a template form. All of the emails as of Monday were from graduates within the past 10 years.
Only one of the emails was shared with me, with names removed, on the condition that I not post it or quote from it. I am permitted to characterize the complaint: My views are not consistent with the law school Dean’s public statement on police violence and my writings were hurtful and divisive, and the person could not understand why I am still on the faculty. [As an aside, my writings are consistent with the Dean’s statement, but that’s another matter.]

Ricky Gervais Shreds Celebrities Who Put Out Cringeworthy ‘I Take Responsibility’ Racism PSA

The Political Insider  "Comedian Ricky Gervais openly mocked celebrities after a group of them released an anti-racism PSA that makes current issues in America all about them.
"The PSA (seen below) will actually make you feel physically uncomfortable watching it as Hollywood’s best and brightest put their white guilt on display for the world to see.
"The two-minute video features celebrities vowing to “take responsibility” for a host of things they feel have contributed to racism in America.
“ 'Every not-so-funny joke, every unfair stereotype,” actor Justin Theroux laments.
"Racially charged jokes are going to be eliminated. There goes the career of Chris Rock. Start burning tapes of Richard Pryor.
"Kristin Bell vowed to take responsibility “for every time it was easier to ignore it than to call it out for what it was.' ” . . .

It was indeed terrible how racist our society was and the evil that was done to minorities in my own lifetime. WW2 was fought by our "Greatest Generation", but I see two separate Greatest Generations at that time: black and white. I can countenance reparations for those who were direct victims of Jim Crow such as the Tuskegee Airmen for example, but not one dime to the Sharptons, Waters, and others who we see looting and rioting.

Updated: Any excuse to virtue - signal is a good excuse for Lady Antebellum, but.....

I hasten to mention this is from Legal Insurrection:

Lady Antebellum Changing Name to Lady A: ‘Deeply Sorry’ for Pain the Name Caused Others
"Antebellum means pre-war, but most commonly associated with the time before the Civil War."

"Lady Antebellum changed their name to Lady A since people use “antebellum” to describe the era in the South before the Civil War.
"Antebellum also refers to the Southern house style during that period.
"The trio – Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, and Hillary Scott – chose the name Lady Antebellum because they took their first band pictures at that kind of house.
"But after the death of George Floyd, the band did some soul-searching.
We’ve watched and listened more than ever these last few weeks, and our hearts have been stirred with conviction, our eyes opened wide to the injustices, inequality and biases black women and men have always faced and continue to face everyday [sic]. Now, blindspots we didn’t even know existed have been revealed.
After much personal reflection, band discussion, prayer and many honest conversations with some of our closes black friends and colleagues, we have decided to drop the word “Antebellum” from our name and move on as Lady A, the nickname our fans gave us almost from the start.
. . .
Lady Antebellum Is Now ‘Lady A.’ But So Is a Blues Singer Who’s Used the Name for 20 Years
“ 'This is my life. They’re using the name because of a Black Lives Matter incident that, for them, is just a moment in time,” says the original Lady A, a 61-year-old black singer who’s released multiple records under the name"

They failed to see that due diligence was done and that was a dumb mistake, but, good grief, here comes the old "white privilege" thing again.

President Trump Announces Four Step Program to Empower Good Police and Embolden Communities

Tony Branco
Townhall  "Speaking from Dallas Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump announced a new four step plan to embolden communities and empower good policing.
"Americans are good and virtuous people. We have to work together to confront bigotry and prejudice wherever they appear but we will make no progress and heal no wounds by falsely labeling tens-of-millions of decent Americans as racists or bigots. We have to get everybody together. We have to be on the same path," Trump said.
"We have do many different elements of strength in this country. We have such potential in this country...we are the greatest country in the world," he continued. "I'll be announcing four steps to build safety and opportunity and dignity."
"The steps:
1) Pursuing economic development in minority communities beyond established opportunity zones and increasing access to capital 2) Confronting healthcare disparities, chronic conditions and reforming medical institutions  that aren't up to standard 3) Finalizing an executive order that encourages police departments nationwide to meet professional standards on use of force and de-escelation -- the order also encourages social workers and police to work together on difficult problems 4) Calling on Congress to enact school choice. . . Full article...

The ‘Autonomous Zone’ In Seattle Is A Harbinger Of America’s Future If Politicians Don’t Start Working Together

So our nation bows before a generation whose leaders want to govern where we eat, what we enjoy in entertainment, the history we remember, and the political opinions we are allowed to hold? We fought our Revolution over less oppression than this. TD

Rich Terrell

CNN Reporter Tells Anderson Cooper How Peaceful the Autonomous Zone Is, Just As An Angry Person Tries To Stop The Report   "Absolutely hilarious. You can see them struggling to say it’s peaceful as the report is interrupted and the report is afraid he’s in danger."
"Incredible CNN segment. Reporter says how peaceful it is in CHAZ. One of the protesters crashes the shot and tries to organize people to interrupt the report. Reporter then says “no doubt some of these protesters are armed” (contradicting CNN's report):

Unless our leaders put aside their differences and egos, we’ll continue to have unrest, increasing unemployment and the destruction of small businesses. They need to talk and take action before it's too late. Unfortunately, the middle class and poor will be impacted the most by the lack of leadership from our elected officials.
The ‘Autonomous Zone’ In Seattle Is A Harbinger Of America’s Future If Politicians Don’t Start Working Together   . . . "Protesters took over a part of the city, calling it the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). It was created to serve as a community, commune, self-sustaining, police-free zone. The protesters demanded that the police be abolished and the mayor fired. The governor of Washington state, Jay Inslee, said in a press conference that he’s unaware of what's happening.

"Assistant Police Chief of the Criminal Investigations Bureau Deanna Nollette said, “We have heard anecdotally reports of citizens and businesses being asked to pay a fee to operate within this area.” Nolette added, “There is no legal right for those arms to be used to intimidate community members. This is the crime of extortion."
"The New York Times had a differing perspective reporting, “What has emerged is an experiment in life without the police—part street festival, part commune. Hundreds have gathered to hear speeches, poetry and music. On Tuesday night, dozens of people sat in the middle of an intersection to watch 13th, the Ava DuVernay film about the criminal justice system’s impact on African-Americans. On Wednesday, children made chalk drawings in the middle of the street.' ” . . .
Surely we have better minds in government than AOC, Pelosi, Inslee, Hirono and "The Squad". TD
