Is There a Creepier Newscaster Than MSNBC's Wannabe Poet Lawrence O'Donnell?

  Bob Hoge – RedState

I mean, what even is this? His “closed-eye space?” Lawrence, you have truly jumped the shark. It's like Bob Dylan lyrics gone bad, written and delivered by someone who has none of his talent.

"I watch plenty of newscasts and opinion shows (in all my free time), and I’m used to seeing detached-from-reality takes from Whoopi Goldberg and the harridans on "The View," or nonsensical diatribes from Joe Scarborough and wife Mika—an odious pair who are disturbingly obsessed with their Trump hatred despite being extremely tight with the former president just a few years ago—or CNN anchors twisting themselves into pretzels attempting to defend Biden’s indefensible failures.

"But there’s another pundit out there who routinely drops lunatic commentary that makes you think, “How on earth did this guy get hired by a major U.S. news network?" His name is Lawrence O’Donnell, and he works for—you guessed it—MSNBC. I don’t watch him much, I don’t think anyone does, but he’s drawing notice this week by dropping two of the strangest, creepiest monologues you will ever see on your television. (Or for most people these days, on your computer monitor.)

"The first was when he described Stormy Daniels arriving in court for Donald Trump’s business records persecution trial, where his comments almost defy description (I will make the attempt anyway), the second was when he went into some weird mystical fantasy about the meanings of the former president’s facial tics. They almost seem inspired by a mushroom high, they’re so weird.

"Let’s start with Stormy:

He describes the porn performer whose claim to fame is having often violent sex with an untold number of men and women as if she’s some sort of Goddess-like saint from another galaxy—so pure, so virtuous, someone we should look up to and emulate. He delivers his sermon in quiet, dramatic tones as if he’s witnessed a profound miracle that has affected him deep within his soul.

Finally, . . ."This man needs to be put in a padded room. Preferably alongside Keith Olbermann."  Well, he is from MSNBC. And has been caught  reporting false stories about President Trump.

MSNBC has such a bad reputation that they have become fertile ground for parody sites like this: MSNBC Admits They Make Up All Stories About Trump Using Book Of Mad Libs | Babylon Bee

Who Is Funding the College Protests? -

 Kurt Mahlburg - Intellectual Takeout

President Joe Biden has been dogged for months by pro-Palestinian protesters calling him ‘Genocide Joe’—but some of the groups behind the demonstrations receive financial backing from philanthropists pushing hard for his reelection. . . .

Further, these are NOT "student protests." Lisa Fithian is a 63 year old professional protestor, not a student. She's planned protests for decades.

. . ."In short, the organizers aim to put their target in a “decision dilemma” by using a method of protest that leaves the target without any good options: “No matter how the target reacts they look bad.”

"If university leadership and law enforcement let protesters take over and occupy entire buildings, as they have done on many campuses, the protesters gain the upper hand. However, if police engage, the protesters “play victim and use the optics to look like sympathetic martyrs for the cause,” even though they are the aggressors.

"Putting sympathetic characters on the frontline and releasing footage to media outlets that presents protesters as victims and the targets as aggressors are all part of the strategy.

"It’s straight out of the Saul Alinsky playbook. Alinsky remains one of the most influential authorities on the (largely left-wing) phenomenon known as “community organizing.” In his 1971 book Rules for Radicals, Alinsky outlined 13 rules that have served as a template for generations of activists.

“ 'The real action is your target’s reaction” is a famous Alinsky tactic—and one that is self-evidently at play in the current college protests.

"The takeaway for ordinary folks?

"Wise up to the tactics of the organizers. Don’t take everything you see for granted. Keep asking questions about who is leading and funding the high-profile events being broadcast on the nightly news.

"Like the Wizard of Oz or the Emperor’s New Clothes, the power of these protests is mostly in the illusion. Shrug that off, and we can get back to an authentically functioning republic—surely a non-negotiable for an election year."

The woman stuttering behind the microphone is the perfect demonstration of why DEI is so dangerous

"The President has been very clear"

Peter Heck; Not the Bee   "Karine Jean-Pierre is a small-scale demonstration of the extraordinary danger posed to humanity by Diversity-Equity-Inclusion (DEI) policies. Stated bluntly, I don't want a pilot flying my airplane, I don't want a surgeon performing my operation, I don't want a construction foreman building my bridge who perform their jobs as competently as Pierre performs hers.

"The list of moments that should disqualify the current president and his administration from voters' future consideration continues growing at an alarming rate. I've been stewing over a recent one that occurred in this surreal exchange between a reporter and the stammering White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre late last week.

"I have a feeling you missed it - which is exactly how we end up in places like this as a country. So watch this and then let me share a few words:" ...

. . . "But in this case, it isn't her predictable mumbling and stumbling that was so galling. It was the false testimony. It was the lying. The reporter's question - posed in a very tactful, non-accusatorial manner - was a good one:

"Trump's tax cuts were across the board, including for those making less than $400,000 a year.

"Biden has announced he will allow all the Trump tax cuts to expire."

Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?

"From Wright’s embrace of hatred as a motive force, Obama learned both a positive and a negative lesson. Positive: Hate moves people and can be used to great political advantage. Negative: When you use hate, you must disguise it much better than Jeremiah Wright did." . . .

Americans Want Taxpayer Funds Pulled From NPR For Becoming A 'Political Propaganda Machine', Daily Mail Poll Shows   "Voters by a wide margin seek action against National Public Radio (NPR) after a whistleblower last month came forward and accused the station of liberal-biased news coverage, a poll shows.

"Fully 44 percent of respondents to a DailyMail.com/TIPP survey said the broadcaster should lose its taxpayer cashflows over its political leaning.

"Another 26 percent of more than 1,400 US adults said it should keep its government support; and 31 percent said they were not sure.

"NPR was rocked last month when one of its senior editors, Uri Berliner, accused his employer of overly woke news coverage, with a fixation on stories about race and identity." . . .

Make America Hate Again - Obama planted hate. Biden isn’t quite as good at hiding it.-The American Spectator  . . ."Obama painted himself as a uniter. Jews supported him in Illinois. But when word of Pastor Wright’s angry and racially charged rhetoric surfaced in the primary campaign of 2008, many began to doubt Obama’s real stance.

"It was not just that Wright called for God to damn America in one of his most infamous sermons. It was his intense anti-Israel stance and, worse, his association with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who was addicted to using vicious antisemitism as an emotional driver of his leadership. Wright publicly associated himself with Farrakhan, giving wider legitimacy to his Jew hatred in the eyes of Wright’s church and the larger black community. Now, a disciple of Wright was aspiring for the presidency, which would give unheard-oflegitimacy to the Farrakhan brand of Jew hatred with which Wright had unabashedly associated himself.

"Obama got past this crisis not by admitting any wrong at all in his long association with the hateful Wright, or by admitting any wrong on his part. He did not ask for the forgiveness that Americans so easily give to those honest enough to admit their errors. Instead, he cast his preacher under his campaign bus and lectured Americans mildly about American racism." . . .

. . ."The people see the late and half-hearted effort of the suddenly worried Biden crew to re-establish a non-threatening appearance. But Obama’s masterful ability to conceal hate is a rare talent. No one has that level of skill in the Biden bunch, who daily appear more and more empty of moral purpose or diplomatic skill." . . .

Democrats cannot tell who the "Good Guys" are anymore.   "A few weeks ago, a sermon by Reform Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch, the senior rabbi at the Steven Wise Free Synagogue in New York, shocked millions from that city to Tel Aviv. Standing at his pulpit, Hirsch delivered a stern warning to the Democrats.

"Noting that he is someone “who is finely attuned to American Jewish sentiment,” Hirsch told Democratic elected officials: “Do not take American Jews for granted.”

"Hirsch explained, “I have spoken to many American Jews in the past few months who have surprised me with their anxiety about developments in the Democratic Party, and their perception that it is becoming increasingly hostile to Israel, and tolerant of anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism in its own ranks.”

“ 'Be careful,” Hirsch warned. “The results of the upcoming election do not only depend on Michigan.”

"Many dismissed his remarks with a shrug of their shoulders. For decades, Republicans have asked conservative Jews to explain how it is that American Jews vote for Democrat Party candidates even though Republicans are so much more supportive of Israel. The question comes so frequently that most conservative Jews can give the answers in their sleep." . . .

First, most American Jews see themselves first and foremost as Democrats or liberals, not as Jews. They love Israel, but it’s not really a voting issue for them. And second, the Jewish vote doesn’t matter because most American Jews live in deep blue states that will never tilt Republican.

Biden’s betrayal of Israel sees the rise of the ‘Never Biden’ voters

Andrea Widburg - American Thinker   . . ."Ben Shapiro is also a Never Trumper who’s become positively enthusiastic about Trump. I don’t know what Shapiro did in the 2016 election when he was terribly worried that Trump would govern as a dictator. By the 2020 election, when his fears failed to materialize, Shapiro became a very reluctant Trump supporter. Now, Shapiro has said that he would walk over broken glass to vote for Trump:

. . ."Every Jew fears another Holocaust. After WWII, the Democrat party impliedly promised to be philosemitic and to protect the Jews from a new Holocaust. Even for those Jews who were not already leftist (as many are, thanks to old anti-Tsarist sentiments and academia), that promise drew their vote. Republicans, with their casual white shoe, banker, country club antisemitism, were just too risky.

"Now, though, Jews have reevaluated that risk. It’s the Democrat party that threatens them at home. And while it’s true that Jews cannot shift the vote in Michigan or Minnesota, it’s also true that Democrats have long received a great deal of money from Jewish voters. If that money dries up and the Jews stay home, the Democrats may find themselves wishing that they’d picked the other side in the Israel-Hamas war."

Is the Michigan vote really that essential; essential enough to make us less than we had been?

Joe Biden is trying to save Hamas: in a long line of foreign policy screw-ups, is this his worst?

. . ."With Hamas on the ropes, why is Joe Biden putting American lives in Gaza at risk by trying to hamstring an American ally in what can only be described as a gift for a terrorist group responsible for the death of Americans?

"If this is being done in return for a hug from The Squad and a few thousand votes in Michigan, it's obvious that in Joe Biden's eyes, Americans in Israel aren't all that valuable to our current Commander-in-Chief."

Israel has to do it themselvesIDF gradually tightens grip on Hamas’s last bastion in Gaza - JNS.org

. . ."This new campaign has led to the elimination of approximately 80 terrorists in Jabalia, and the destruction of multiple rocket launchers, including long-range capabilities. Weapons workshops were also targeted and destroyed. Supporting these ground maneuvers, the Israeli Air Force has conducted more than 100 airstrikes." . . .

Biden Ends the U.S.-Israel Alliance at a Fortuitous Moment

With Democrats, America gets second-rate governance and world leadership. TD

A.F. Branco Cartoon

CarolineGlick.com  . . ."For the past two decades, the Democratic Party—once the more pro-Israel of America’s two major political parties—underwent a process of radicalization. The first sign that something was shifting came in the 2004 Democratic presidential primaries when a previously unknown former Vermont governor named Howard Dean raised more money than any of his fellow Democratic presidential hopefuls. Dean was funded by Internet portals conceived and financed by far-left billionaires who initiated the party’s transformation by changing its funding mechanisms. Institutional funders and businessmen, longstanding political arms of lobbies and other funding standard-bearers were suddenly dwarfed by an army of anonymous online donors funneling funds through radical groups. The candidates who received their support were those who adopted the most radical positions on everything from healthcare to cultural issues, education policies to foreign and defense policies.

"Just before his first inauguration, Barack Obama announced his intention to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” While it is still an open question how well he succeeded nationally, there is no question that he fundamentally transformed the Democratic Party both in relation to domestic and foreign policy. Israel and American Jews were central casualties of both.

"Obama transformed critical race theory from a reality-denying, racialist crackpot conceptual framework into the foundation of the party’s domestic policies. At the heart of CRT is the notion that people’s characters are determined by their racial, ethnic, national and religious background. And they are either victims—and therefore good, or aggressors—and therefore bad. One’s definition is immutable and determined not by individuals or even societies, but by a group of radical, unelected pseudo-intellectuals. Together, this band of racists decided that the United States and Jews in the United States and the collective Jew, the State of Israel, are successful and powerful—and therefore bad.

"Thanks to Obama and his senior officials, coupled with the funding mechanisms they built and institutionalized, a steadily growing number of Democrats embraced the view that far from the last great hope of mankind and the leader of the free world, the U.S. was traditionally the world’s greatest aggressor. U.S. allies were viewed as accomplices to this evil, and as such, undeserving of support.

"America’s enemies, on the other hand, were viewed as victims, and “innocent” by nature and incapable of doing wrong. Since the most anti-American actors in the world are Iran and radical, jihadist Arab states like Syria and Qatar were necessarily worthy of support and could be blamed for no wrongdoing.

"The chief aggressor in Obama’s CRT taxonomy is Israel. And the chief victims are Israel’s existential enemies: Iran and the Palestinians. Empowering the latter against the Jewish state was seen as both a moral imperative and the key to repositioning the transformed United States on the “right side of history.”

"Slowly, but surely, over his eight years in office, Obama incentivized abidance by CRT catechisms. Its primary expression in foreign policy was hatred of Israel and support for Palestinian terrorists and Iran.

"By the time he left office, Obama had reshaped the party leadership and machines in his own image by transforming the funding mechanisms for candidates and officeholders at all levels of national politics to advance candidates aligned with CRT policies.

"Although the so-called “Squad” of openly anti-Semitic lawmakers first elected to Congress in 2018 only included four members, their ability to compel House leaders to bend to their will was a testament to the fact that to all intents and purposes, that tiny minority now controlled the party apparatus. Then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) refusal to censure Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) for her bigoted slurs of American Jews or Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) for her calls for Israel’s destruction testified to this state of affairs." . . .

Israel declares independence from Biden - Daniel Greenfield

Biden’s betrayal of Israel was inevitable. The blindness of Israeli leaders to that eventuality, their conviction that if they followed every single guideline from the White House, they would have the support they needed to finish off Hamas in Gaza, was a delusional fantasy. Israel’s best bet lay in quickly doing what it needed to do. Everything the Biden administration wanted only slowed down the war effort and doomed the very support that Israel had been counting on.

Campus hunger strikers and the cause they support

Princeton Students Get Hungry, End Hunger Strike - The brats have spoken
The demands outlined were: “Meet with students to discuss their demands for disclosure, divestment and a full academic and cultural boycott of Israel; grant complete amnesty from all criminal and disciplinary charges for participants of the peaceful sit-in. Reverse all campus bans and evictions of students.”

Princeton Anti-Israel Hunger Strike Collapses, Solves its Problem by Rotating in New Strikers (legalinsurrection.com)  "This weekend, I noted that the anti-Israel hunger strike for Palestine at Princeton University didn’t seem to have an exit strategy. No one was paying attention to the students’ demands after they allegedly went without food for 8 days.

"Now, they have basically thrown in the towel, but they came up with a way to keep things going, too. They brought in newer, less hungry strikers. You couldn’t make this up."

Anti-Israel campus protesters have experienced “some kind of psychiatric break” (legalinsurrection.com) . . ."Are they anti-Israel, or is there something deeper at play? I think it’s wrong to view this as a purely anti-Israel movement on the US campuses. Certainly it is anti-Israel, but it’s more fundamentally anti-American, anti-Western, and anti-capitalist. And I do think it’s a psychological phenomenon, which makes it harder to deal with. It’s almost become a cult, and in order to be accepted into the cult, you have to announce your hatred for Israel, you have to announce support for people who actually hate you. So there’s something that’s hard to address, because you have people who’ve had some sort of mental breakdown." . . .

Flashback clip of Jeff Sessions swatting Biden's hand away from his granddaughter proves everyone knew about Joe...

"Sadly, the Democrats, who demand that we “believe all women,” didn’t believe these particular women—clearly because it didn’t suit their narrative." . . .

"The bad news for America is that Joe Biden has been a fixture in US politics for decades. The really bad news for Joe Biden is that much of his repugnant behavior has been caught on video and is still circulating today, constantly reminding everyone what an inept “leader” he has always been and highlighting his predatory behavior and actions towards young girls. A quick search online will pull up a plethora of clips showing Joe’s groping, touching, and creepy nuzzling of very young girls. There’s no denying this behavior is unacceptable, and most on the left and in the media know they can’t defend it, so they try to ignore it and pretend the mountain of past clips doesn’t exist or that he doesn’t still behave that way today. Though, when Joe gets handsy these days, the media dismisses it as “grandfatherly behavior.”

"You mean like this?"

Greta Thunberg and the Greatest of all Heresies

 American Greatness (amgreatness.com)

As Chesterton never said but is often quoted as having done so, “When a man stops believing in God he doesn’t then believe in nothing, he believes anything.”

Greta Thunberg Mural Equipped With Laser Eyes That Shoot At SUVs | Babylon Bee

"The other day, as environmental hero/prophetess Greta Thunberg donned a keffiyeh and joined the pro-Hamas protests in Malmo, Sweden, social media blew up with its usual mix of angry condemnation and fierce support. “How could she?” countless posters tetchily demanded, only to be met, in response, with the equally peevish “How could you?” With a few notable exceptions, most observers missed the obvious point that of course the erstwhile environmental activist was protesting the Jewish “oppressors” and supporting their poor, Palestinian victims; of course she took to the streets with neo-Marxist identitarians to demand “justice” and an end to “colonialism;” of course she has and will continue to embrace every subversive left-wing liberationist cause. How could do otherwise? After all, these causes are all interconnected, if not wholly identical." . . .

. . ."Chesterton writes, “then he is by that very process sinking slowly backwards into the vagueness of the vagrant animals and the unconsciousness of the grass. Trees have no dogmas. Turnips are singularly broad-minded.”

"Greta Thunberg is a turnip. To be sure, she is a broad-minded and “enlightened” turnip, but she is a turnip nonetheless. And so are all of her compatriots protesting throughout the West for the environment and against the Jews, for the Palestinians and against homophobia, and for the Mullahs of Iran and their homicidal proxies and against fossil fuels. They are all believer in and practitioners of “the Modern Phase.” They are Marxists, but not just Marxists. They are Marxists with iPhones who use those iPhones to spend their parents’ money ordering head scarves from Amazon, which they then use to cover their hair and their faces while they demand equal treatment for women, even those women who were born men.

"As Chesterton never said but is often quoted as having done so, “When a man stops believing in God he doesn’t then believe in nothing, he believes anything.” And so it is with our turnipified youth. They are “spiritual” but not religious. They are disciples who follow no dogma. They embrace all causes while believing nothing. They are destroying our civilization so that they may save the world. And while they may accomplish the former, the latter is far beyond the limits of their imaginations and dedication."

The American Catholic – Politics & Culture from a Catholic Perspective

"Julius Howell, Civil War General (January 17, 1846 - June 19, 1948) joined the Confederate Army when he was 16. After surviving a few battles, he eventually found himself in a Union prison camp at Point Lookout, Maryland. In 1947, at the age of 101, Howell made this recording at the Library of Congress."
"You can hear in this man's accent how the English accent morphed into the American Southern accent. His accent is closer to the English accent than the speakers of today, still recognizable even as English."
British tourist Arthur Fremantle observed that Southern men spoke with English accents while Southern women spoke in the musical "southern twang".

An Englishman's Journey Through the Confederacy During America's Civil War (historynet.com) "After graduating from Sandhurst, Great Britain’s West Point, Arthur James Lyon Fremantle entered the army in 1852 and soon became an officer in England’s renowned Coldstream Guards (both his father and grandfather had served with distinction in the same regiment). At the age of 25, Fremantle was promoted to lieutenant colonel and eventually rose to the rank of full general, becoming along the way one of the most senior officers in the British army. In 1885, he commanded a brigade of Guards during the Sudan campaign and was later appointed governor of Malta, a strategically important British possession in the Mediterranean.

"Fremantle’s credentials certainly bespeak a distinguished military career, but perhaps his greatest importance to military history lies not in his service to queen and country but rather in the form of a short three-month diary he kept while on ‘vacation.’ Fueled by a strong desire to get a firsthand view of the boiling crisis in America as the Southern states struggled to free themselves from their Northern counterparts, Fremantle secured six-months’ leave and crossed the Atlantic.

"Upon entering the Confederacy, Fremantle made a breathtaking tour, visiting every Southern state except Arkansas and Florida. Within three months he had met most of the top Confederate leaders in both Eastern and Western theaters, including Robert E. Lee, James Longstreet, Joseph Johnston and Jefferson Davis, to name a few. But by no means did Fremantle limit himself to the leading figures; he befriended a gamut of men and women from all walks of life, and left behind an excellent account of the common soldier and the fiery Southern womenfolk on the home front." . . .

. . ."Even the Pennsylvania women who were disgusted to see the Confederates failed to daunt that Southern good humor. One creative woman protested the invaders by covering her sizable chest with a Union flag. Fremantle stood by as one cheeky Texan warned the woman, ‘Take care, madam, for Hood’s boys are great at storming breastworks when the Yankee colors is on them.’ " . . .

The Fall of the House of Presidential Persecutions

Victor Davis Hanson › American Greatness  What will be the endgame of all these attacks on the American legal system and the warping of it for blatant political purposes?

Tara Reade was as believable or unbelievable as E. Jean Carroll. Far poorer, and without Carroll’s New York elite connections, Reade alleged that Senator Joe Biden sexually assaulted her at about the same time as the Carroll claim. Yet Reade was written off as a nut, ostracized, and felt to have opportunistically piggy-banked on the #MeToo movement.

"None of the five civil and criminal cases currently lodged against former President Donald Trump have ever had merit. They were all predicated on using the law to injure his re-election candidacy—given a widespread derangement syndrome among the left and a fear they cannot entrust a Trump/Biden election to the people.

"These criminal and civil trials are merely the continuation of extra-legal efforts of the last eight years to destroy a presidential candidate in lieu of opposing him in transparent elections.

"As such, the current lawfare joins the Mueller investigation of the Russian-collusion hoax. It is a continuation of the laptop disinformation caper and the “51 intelligence authorities” who lied about its Russian origins. It logically follows from the two impeachments, the Senate trial of Trump as a private citizen, and states’ efforts to remove him from their ballots.

"The E. Jean Carroll case, the Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, and Fani Willis local and state trials, and the Smith federal indictment share various embarrassments.

"Suspension of statutes of limitations: Carroll and Bragg could only go to court through the legal gymnastics of enlisting sympathetic judges and legislators to change or amend the law to suspend the statute of limitations as a veritable bill of attainder to go after Trump.

"Violations of the Bill of Rights: In the Bragg case, Judge Merchan’s selective and asymmetrical gag order likely violates the First Amendment (prohibiting “abridging the freedom of speech”). Bragg violated the Sixth Amendment by denying Trump the right “to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation”. Judge Engoron, in the juryless James case, violated the Eighth Amendment (“nor excessive fines imposed”) in assessing Donald Trump an unheard of $354 million fine for supposedly overstating the value of real estate collateral for loans, while violating the Sixth Amendment as well (“the accused shall enjoy the right … to trial by an impartial jury”). The FBI likely violated the Fourth Amendment (“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures”) by raiding Trump’s private residence, seizing his papers and effects (many of them private), and then lying about its own shenanigans of rearranging the seized classified files to incriminate Trump.

"The invention of crimes: The indictments of Bragg, James, Willis, and Smith had no prior precedents. " . . .
