Donald Trump vs. Bragg, James, Willis, and Biden

"One might also argue that Bragg's timing is pure coincidence and unrelated to the national election cycle. But the district attorney has had the evidence for nearly eight years, and only now decided to prosecute. A false urgency and a phony conscientiousness betray the truth of the thing." B.R.

Alvin Bragg's Show Trial of Donald Trump Is an Attack on the Rule of Law | Opinion (newsweek.com)   Brooke Rollins  "The 'criminal' trial of former president Donald J. Trump is underway, and there is much speculation about the merits of the case. We can dispense with that up front: the merits are practically nonexistent.

"Partisan prosecutor Alvin Bragg, more showman than lawman, alleges that a 2016 transaction from the Trump Organization was deceptively categorized in its accounting. Even if that dubious claim were true, it is only a misdemeanor offense whose statute of limitations ran out long ago. So how is it that a felony trial is underway for an act that isn't a felony, and is well outside the statute of limitations?

"As millions of Americans across the nation—and the political spectrum—suspect, this entire misadventure is nothing more than a charade. Desperate to do something, anything, to shift the focus from President Joe Biden's failures, Bragg has resorted to prosecuting Trump just months before the election. He knows he is unlikely to win a conviction, but this case isn't about justice; it's about distraction. That is how we get to where we are now. That is how we have a criminal show trial of a former—and likely future—president of the United States, right at the opening of the general-election season.

"Sometimes things are exactly as they appear, and in those cases, we have a responsibility to state the obvious. So let us acknowledge what is happening here: this prosecution is an act of lawfare, the deliberate perversion of the law and its processes to target, isolate, and persecute a specific individual—and not at all coincidentally, disenfranchise the tens of millions of Americans who could make him president again." . . .

Biden Wishes He Could’ve Met Trump ‘Head to Head’ ‘In the Neighborhood’ (breitbart.com)  "President Joe Biden suggested Friday he would have liked to fight former President Donald Trump when they were children, echoing similar rhetoric he has used, fantasizing about a physical confrontation with his rival." . . .

"During an appearance on Sirius XM’s Howard Stern Show on Friday, Stern and Biden were discussing Biden’s stuttering difficulties as a child when he said he would have liked to meet Trump “head to head” “in the neighborhood.”

“ 'But by that time, I was over most of the stuttering, but like, for example, you know, I mean, Trump makes fun of me,” Biden said. “Here’s the kind of guy in the neighborhood you wish you could have gotten in the neighborhood and meet head to head.”

"The shock jock and president then pivoted to the “first fistfight” the president had.

"Biden had implied he would like to fight Trump multiple times dating back to 2016, when he was still vice president and Hillary Clinton was the Democrat presidential nominee." . . .

George Soros is paying student radicals who are fueling nationwide explosion of Israel-hating protests

"Generation z are the stupidest generation yet and the millennials are pretty stupid." OnlyMe

 Isabel Vincent (nypost.com)

At Yale, Craig Birckhead-Morton (circled) is paid up to $3,360 for his work encouraging protests. He was arrested for trespass Monday and charged with first-degree trespass.

"George Soros and his hard-left acolytes are paying agitators who are fueling the explosion of radical anti-Israel protests at colleges across the country.

"The protests, which began when students took over Columbia University’s Morningside Heights campus lawn last week, have mushroomed nationwide.

"Copycat tent cities have been set up at colleges including Harvard, Yale, Berkeley in California, the Ohio State University and Emory in Georgia — all of them organized by branches of the Soros-funded Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) — and at some, students have clashed with police.

"The SJP parent organization has been funded by a network of nonprofits ultimately funded by, among others, Soros, the billionaire left-wing investor.

"At three colleges, the protests are being encouraged by paid radicals who are “fellows” of a Soros-funded group called the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR).

"USCPR provides up to $7,800 for its community-based fellows and between $2,880 and $3,660 for its campus-based “fellows” in return for spending eight hours a week organizing “campaigns led by Palestinian organizations.”

"They are trained to “rise up, to revolution.”

"The radical group received at least $300,000 from Soros’ Open Society Foundations since 2017 and also took in $355,000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund since 2019." . . .

The Democrats’ Plan To Steal The Presidency For Good –

  Issues & Insights (issuesinsights.com)

"There’s an old joke, funny mostly because it’s so true: “Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.” If you’re not in the majority, you’re the sheep, and you are eaten."

Electoral College, 2024. Source: Chessrat, via Wikimedia Commons. Public Domain.

"While Americans brace for another contentious presidential election, the Democrats have a better idea: Subvert the Constitution in the name of “democracy.” Once again, the party of the left shows why it’s losing Americans’ trust.

"Quietly but steadily, the Democratic Party has been advancing its latest bold idea to create a uni-party state: A “National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.”

"In case you missed it, the Associated Press reported last week that “Maine will become the latest to join a multistate effort to elect the president by popular vote,” the 17th state to do so.

"As the AP noted, “Under the proposed compact, each state would allocate all its electoral votes to whoever wins the national popular vote for president, regardless of how individual states voted in an election.”

"The goal of this “movement” — it’s really a plot — is to get enough states to join to get to the magic number of 270 electoral votes, the amount needed to win the Electoral College. With Maine, the group now claims 209 electoral votes, a mere 61 away from their goal.

"What’s wrong with this picture? Nothing, except it’s an out-and-out attempt at subverting the protections placed in the Constitution to keep from having a national popularity contest for the presidency. This is what Democrats call “democracy.” In fact, it’s a recipe for mob rule.

"Our founders, who were extraordinarily wise and deeply steeped in both political history and philosophy, understood very well: Nations that start as law-respecting republics (America, in case you didn’t know, is a republic, a representative democracy, not a pure democracy) and employ “majority rules” quickly devolve into dictatorships.

"That was the whole reason for the Electoral College, which plays a vital role in determining our president by giving states a role in the election of a president. The media understand this, as a recent ABC News headline shows: “State law takes U.S. a step closer to popular vote deciding presidential elections”." . . .

To Understand Campus Protesters, The Right Should Dig Deeper

 Emily Jashinsky (thefederalist.com)

" . . .Or the champions of compassion and tolerance and justice saying things like “Zionists don’t deserve to live” and “Be grateful that I’m not just going out and murdering Zionists.' ” . . .

(allthatsinteresting.com)

"It’s important to acknowledge two truths about the anti-Israel campus protests. First, they’ve clearly included some antisemitism, much of which is far more radical than conservative speech the same schools and supportive journalists regularly subject to suppression. Second, many if not most of the campus protesters, outside headline-grabbing antisemites, believe they oppose Hamas, do not hate Jews, and genuinely think they are fighting a colonialist genocide.

"The point of recognizing this is not to excuse schools for botching their responses or let organizers off the hook for platforming bigotry. (They’ve certainly never let the right off the hook for hangers-on or plants.) The point is actually to suggest that while antisemitism will sadly never be extinguished — and there’s some evidence it may be rising — the ideology motivating campus protesters is becoming much more widespread.

Indeed, many of these protesters are Jewish, a reality that’s very familiar to pro-Israel Jews around the world. One Jewish student protester I interviewed this week actually expressed frustration with the difficulty of keeping legitimate antisemites out of the encampment. More broadly, though, the rapid proliferation of anti-Western worldviews presents a bigger problem for the country at large than the seriously disturbing but minority outbursts of antisemitism among protesters. (Minority at least for now.)" . . .

Biden Should Be Forced To Condemn His Hamas Wing Repeatedly; Mollie Hemingway

“If you recall, during the Trump administration, everyone would constantly demand that every Republican, chief among them Donald Trump, denounce anything that happened no matter how fringe,” said Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway.

UPDATE: Hamas Releases Sick 'Proof-of-Life' Video of American Hostage Keith Siegel, Grandfather of Five – RedState

. . ."The idiots trashing universities and celebrating murderers seem to have no compassion for the horrors so many Israelis experienced on Oct. 7, 2023—and are continuing to suffer through now. They should be demanding the release of all the hostages, not the destruction of Israel, but they're not, and it's a sad commentary on a shameless segment of our society."

Did Biden’s big mouth just commit him to debate Donald Trump?

Andrea Widburg - American Thinker  "Sometimes, it’s nice to walk away from the insanely depressing news about America’s college campuses, the economy, immigration, and all the other stuff in Biden’s America and just to focus on Joe Biden himself. That’s because this addled old man is the source of endless comic material. He lies, misspeaks, misreads, and, most recently, may have committed himself to a debate or two against Donald Trump, something that he’s manifestly incapable of handling.

I’m sure all of you caught Biden’s Ron Burgundy moment, but I’ll share it with you again, nevertheless. If you’re not familiar with Ron Burgundy, this will help you catch up (language warning).

This is the link where Joe says he will debate Trump:

Concern ensues:

The roots of Islamophobia on campus

"At Columbia University, many pro-Hamas protesters are dressed in the black and white keffiyeh headdresses that are the Brownshirts of the Palestinazis. In recent days, they have waved Hamas flags, yelled Hamas slogans, and intimidated, threatened, and assaulted Jewish students, particularly those who wear yarmulkes and otherwise visually identify themselves as Jews. Israeli and U.S. flags have been set ablaze."  Deroy Murdock

WARNING, VERY GRAPHIC! Video out of Israel shows room full of children massacred by Hamas    Barenakedislam.com:  "Hamas Gaza militant terrorists are roaming the streets and massacring people at random -men, women, and children ON SIGHT. They are also kidnapping/killing Israeli civilian thanks to Joe Biden’s $6 billion to Iran, not to mention restoration of the hundreds of million of US taxpayer dollars to the Palestinians that Donald Trump had cut off when he was in office."

Classy Infidel says:  "Sometimes, an enemy can go too far and sink itself. I think this is what is happening now. The enemy’s level of hate and joyful glee is so elevated that they have lost all reasoning. And the civilized world sees this and will side with the Israelis." . . .

Columbia Protest Leader Who Called for Jews to Be Exterminated would agree with what happened above. – RedState   "Khymani James finally faced the consequences of his actions on Friday after multiple reports revealed that he had been expelled from Columbia University.

"As RedState reported, videos of the self-proclaimed revolutionary who leads the pro-Hamas "encampment" on campus showed him calling for Jews to be exterminated. In his disturbing rantings, James claimed that "Zionists don't deserve to live" and said they should be exterminated like "nazis." Around 95 percent of Jews support the existence of a Jewish state, making them "Zionists." . . .

. . ."It is a good thing that this maniac has been expelled, but there are serious reasons to doubt that Columbia did this for any other reason than to quell the public backlash. The university has known about these videos since January. Yet, officials did nothing in response until they became politically toxic months later. James should have been expelled immediately. Instead, he was allowed to lead an illegal protest.

"So yeah, better late than never, but Columbia has a lot of explaining to do." . . .

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like 1938 - The American Spectator | USA News and Politics    "If Jews do not feel safe on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, in New York City, in the United States of America, where can they feel safe?
"NYC is home to some 1.3 million Jews, the most outside of Israel. Jewish men and women have thrived in The Big Apple for hundreds of years, enjoying religious freedom, prosperity, political power, and the affection and goodwill of millions of their gentile neighbors, colleagues, and loved ones.
"Jewish culture is NYC culture. New Yorkers of all stripes schlep packages to the Post Office, kvetch when things go awry, and mock their friends when they act like putzes. Those of us who call NYC home need not be Jewish to speak and act this way. We live in New York.
"We pick it up.
"However, things lately have been far from dancing the Horah.
"Protests began after Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, massacre against Israel. The Iranian-sponsored terrorist group butchered some 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped 240 hostages from Israel, America, and other nations. These demonstrations have devolved from opposition to Israel’s self-defense against these killers from the Gaza Strip, into support for Hamas, and now open hatred of Jews, per se." . . .

The anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian, and conflated pro-Hamas antisemitism on university campuses in America is astounding.  Spitting on, threatening, intimidating, and menacing Jewish fellow students is beyond unacceptable and symptomatic of a malignant antisemitic spiritual plague in America — a scourge that is emerging after festering in the political, social, and collective spiritual marrow of America for many decades.  The most shameful aspect of this is that universities are one of the roots.
"The other political-social taproot of this American antisemitism is the subliminal and liminal anti-Israel messages of politicians like Barack Obama and the likes of radical leftist politicians of the Squad.  It might have helped our country and the world at the time if Barack Obama and the Squad had praised and promoted the Abraham Accords.
"It is one thing to vigorously disagree with Israel policies.  But after the ghastly, evil attack of Hamas on October 7, 2023, and Israel’s declaration of war on Hamas, it is a pure expression of evil terrorism for a university student or other American to say, “I am Hamas” or to threaten more murderous attacks on Israeli citizens or American Jews.  American politicians’ silence or advocacy of moral equivalency on the Hamas issue says volumes." . . . Below: comment to this post worth noting, TD
America's universities have made themselves disgusting to America's youth and their parents. If these brainwashing camps drive away their prospects and their big money donors, they will die on the vine. Good people should cheer that outcome. Who needs expensive places teaching violence, division, bitterness and hate?

“This is an openly anti-American movement, which is using Israel as the scapegoat” (legalinsurrection.com)    "There is a plus-side to the vile anti-Israel and antisemitic encampments at Columbia and several other universities – the anti-American side of the movement is on full display. As I’ve been saying for years, the racialized and radicalized campuses are a threat to our nation, now they have shown their hand for all to see.

"When they burn American flags, and when they chant for the destruction of the U.S., they are showing us who they really are." . . .

"I had a chance to talk with Chris Beers about this on NTD TV today, Dehumanization of Jews Led by University Faculty:"

. . ."There is no diversity of viewpoint among faculty on campuses, not just on domestic issues. We often talk about Republican versus Democrat and how there are no Republican professors left pretty much. The same is true for Israel.

"There are almost no openly pro-Israel professors left because they don’t get hired. If you have anything Zionist on your CV, on your resume, the likelihood of getting hired in the humanities or the social sciences at a place like Cornell or at Columbia, or at Harvard or at Yale, is close to zero.

"So they have over 20 years weeded out diversity of viewpoint when it comes to Israel, just like they’ve weeded out diversity of viewpoint on domestic issues." . . .

Biden: can we let a man like Joe split this nation in two?

AfterMath - Home (terrellaftermath.com)

Biden Says He's an Optimist. but His Dire Warnings About Trump Have Become Central to His Campaign (usnews.com)
. . ."But it's becoming conventional wisdom for Democratic strategists to argue that Biden needs to push Trump front and center with voters. Jim Messina, the manager of President Barack Obama's 2012 campaign, wrote in Politico on Monday that voters would move to Biden once they are reminded “of the chaotic, lawless circus that was Trump’s presidency.”

"Biden’s campaign is aiming to shift the political conversation to Trump and away from the GOP candidates who lag the former president in polls. Biden’s team also wants to spotlight what Trump would do in office, not just his myriad legal troubles.

“ 'Our very democracy is at stake,” Biden said in his San Francisco speech. Trump “is running on a platform to end democracy as we know it, and he’s not even hiding the ball."

"There’s evidence to suggest that messages about safeguarding democracy can resonate with voters. AP VoteCast, a wide-ranging survey of U.S. voters, found half of voters in the 2022 midterm elections called inflation the single most important factor in thinking about the election, but the future of democracy came closely behind." . . .

For reasons I cannot fathom: Biden calls white supremacy ‘most dangerous terrorist threat’ in speech at Howard - POLITICO  "President Joe Biden denounced white supremacy as the “most dangerous terrorist threat” to the nation in his commencement address to Howard University’s graduating class Saturday.

" 'White supremacy … is the single most dangerous terrorist threat in our homeland,” Biden said. “And I’m not just saying this because I’m at a Black HBCU. I say this wherever I go.' ” . . .

Can other presidents be prosecuted?

Trump's three US Supreme Court appointees thrash out immunity claim Reuters

. . .For other official acts that the president may take that are not within that exclusive presidential power laid out in the Constitution, Kavanaugh asked whether "Congress has to speak clearly to criminalize official acts of the president by a specific reference."

Justice Brett Kavanaugh Asks Why Barack Obama Was Never Prosecuted – Twitchy  "The Supreme Court is hearing arguments Thursday about presidential immunity, which Donald Trump claims he enjoys. Of course, the Left always takes these to extremes. Remember back in February when "The View's" Whoopi Goldberg warned MAGA what could happen if the court determined Trump did have presidential immunity: "You know what Joe Biden could do since he is presently president? He could throw every Republican in jail!" We know that's her fantasy, and the justice system is doing its best to throw Biden's opponent in prison, hopefully before November." . . .

DOJ lawyer Michael Dreeben says it's perfectly fine for Obama to drone strike innocent civilians while arguing in favor of prosecuting Trump for "election interference." Remarkable. "The comment came after Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh cornered Dreeben by asking him about presidential immunity and why Obama was never prosecuted.

"We call the protesters at all of these universities pro-Hamas, and they've made no secret now that that's not an exaggeration. They're wearing Hamas swag. They're chanting, "We are Hamas" and "kill another soldier." They're all flying the Palestinian flag while burning the American flag. Check out their posters:

. . ."Obama really loved his drone strikes. Micah Zenko says Obama ordered 540 drone strikes that killed 3,797 people, including 324 civilians. "'Turns out I’m really good at killing people. Didn’t know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine'." Obama reportedly told senior aid[e]s....

. . .Biden killed a family, including seven children, in retaliation for the suicide bombing that killed 13 American service members." . . .

The opening statement by Trumps attorney struck home with me. There are concrete crimes committed by other presidents that haven’t been touched by any prosecutorial standard. If they strip Trump of the immunity, then the last 5 presidents have to take the stand and go to court. D. John Sauer

Soros, Hamas and Iran; what a combination

You're known by the company you keep:

'Fox & Friends' reveals groups, funding behind anti-Israel protests (youtube.com)  "Fox News' Brian Kilmeade and Will Cain breakdown the ongoing anti-Israel protests and how these organizations obtain support."

. . .Pro-Palestinian protests have drawn students and faculty of various backgrounds, including of Jewish and Muslim faiths. The groups organizing the protests include Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace.
The encampments have also attracted a diverse array of teach-ins, interfaith prayers, and musical performances.
Organizers have widely disavowed violence against pro-Israel counter-protesters, although some Jewish students have said they feel unsafe on campus and unnerved by chants they say are antisemitic. . . .

Consequently Hamas and Iran expressed sympathy and solidarity toward the anti-Israel protestors.

How George Soros Helps Prop Up Hamas (msn.com)   "Left-wing activist billionaire George Soros is facing criticism from Israel’s ambassador to the U.N. for allegedly funding organizations that support Hamas.

The Israeli ambassador condemned Soros for pumping $15 million in donations and accused him of backing groups seeking to isolate Israel.

“George Soros’ donations to organizations that seek the destruction of the State of Israel as a Jewish state is shameful. However, I am not surprised,” Israeli ambassador Gilad Erdan said.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Issues Statement of Support for Pro-Hamas Protesters – Twitchy   "We call the protesters at all of these universities pro-Hamas, and they've made no secret now that that's not an exaggeration. They're wearing Hamas swag. They're chanting, "We are Hamas" and "kill another soldier." They're all flying the Palestinian flag while burning the American flag. Terrorists delighted at campus student protests - American Thinker   "I can't think of anything more disgraceful than to have the endorsement of a terrorist operation that's bound for destruction based on its own depravities. It's past time for these campus clowns to wake the heck up, or go open about endorsing Hamas's rapes of women and children for all to see."... Monica Showalter

Another central player in the encampment is Jewish Voice for Peace, which has received millions from various donors including George Soros's Open Society Network.

Since  2016 the group has netted at least $650,000 from Soros-backed organizations.

Other donors have included the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, whose director, Nicholas Burns, resigned in 2017 over its support for JVP.

Does anybody on American campuses have any idea what Hamas did to the villages and the Israelis living in them? Do they know the people of Gaza cheered video footage showing the murders of families there; views of Arabs using shovels or hoes to chop off heads of villagers? Did they hear the glee in the voices of those doing these murders? TD

Joe Biden, leader of the free world

"So many inspiring speeches that could have been made even better if they were given in the unmistakable fashion of Joe Biden. It's too bad every president can't capture the same magic." Babylon Bee (below)

From the Babylon Bee: 10 Famous Presidential Quotes If All Presidents Spoke Like Joe Biden | Babylon Bee    "Have you ever noticed that Joe Biden has a funny way of speaking? From his endearing way of retelling events that never happened to his uncanny ability to make up new words on the spot, it's a fascinating testament to his abilities as a communicator. If only other presidents throughout history could do the same thing!

"The Babylon Bee is here to provide the following glimpse at what it would have been like if other presidents spoke like Joe Biden:

  • "Four score and seven… eight hundred… sixty-five million… billion million… years… anyway…": Honest Abe spitting numbers Joe Biden style is how it should be done.
  • "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this...uh, you know... the thing!": A truly powerful moment in history from Ronald Reagan.
  • "We choose to go to the moon not because it is easy but because my uncle was eaten by cannibals. True story, folks.": The space race was never the same after this gem from JFK." . . .
