An excellent anaylsis, but one that doesn't quite connect ALL the dots:
This country is in a dangerous pre-civil war condition with ominous parallels to the presidential election of 1860, and the election of either candidate may lead to mass bloody insurrection, especially that man be the Republican candidate.
Therefore, the real conflict at this point is which group will control the White House and the awesome power of the federal war machine.
