"The bad Al Green got himself thrown out of President Trump’s speech to the joint session of Congress last night. To borrow a thought from the great Al Green, he’s “so tired of being alone,” or wanted to be seen that way. But he’s never alone. He’s only one clown among the Democratic Party’s cast of congressional clowns. If a Republican had performed like the bad Al Green at an Obama State of the Union, it would have been presented as a crime against humanity."
. . ."Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA), who was quick to bring order to the chamber, shared some thoughts Wednesday morning on Green's antics and what it means for the Democrat Party.
If the Democrats want a 77-year-old congressman to be the face of their resistance heckling the president, then bring it on. But we couldn't allow that on the House floor and so I had to eject them. I didn't want to do that. I hate that it resorted to that, but we've got to keep decorum in the chamber.
This used to be a celebrated event, you know, pomp and circumstance, and both sides would applaud for the president. You know, we did that for President Biden on the lines that were there.
"While Speaker Johnson took swift and decisive action to deal with Green, some of his Republican colleagues say they are going to be pushing for the Democrat to face formal censure in front of the chamber." . . .
Scott Jennings Roasts Democrats for Embarrassing, Pathetic Behavior During Trump Address . . . "JENNINGS: I mean, look, I'm sure she's a very nice person. None of this will be remembered because this was a horrific night for the opposition party regardless of how well she just spoke. It started out with Al Green getting thrown off the House floor because he couldn't get his emotions under control. Then they had the ridiculous paddles that social media is now roasting...
"BURNETT: That you said false on one side and Elon on the other...
"JENNINGS: And finally, and maybe most terribly, the Democrats who couldn't find it in their heart to stand for objectively good things, including the 95-year-old mother of Mark Fogel, who got rescued from a Russian prison, and they couldn't even stand up for that. I thought Democrats came into this speech lost and defeated by Donald Trump, and today, it looks to me like they're even more lost and more defeated than when this speech started." . . .
