"The headline: “House Dems reintroduce reparations legislation: ‘We refuse to be silent.’ Progressive Rep. Ayanna Pressley says ‘reparations are a necessary step in achieving justice.’”

"Over at Pressley’s own website was this headline: “Amid Onslaught on DEI, Pressley, Booker, Colleagues Reintroduce Historic Reparations Bill During Black History Month. H.R. 40 Would Form Commission for Develop Reparations Proposals for African Americans.”

"In fact?

"In fact, Pressley, New Jersey’s Democrat Senator Cory Booker, and Democrat colleagues supporting this reparations movement are curiously decidedly silent about the only major political party in American history that fervently supported not only slavery but segregation and, yes indeed, the Ku Klux Klan.

"That would be, of course, Pressley and Booker’s own Democratic Party.

"In the past, I have detailed the close ties of Pressley’s party on this score. Let’s review.

• Pressley, Booker, and colleagues are not demanding reparations from the Democrat Party for the number of Democratic Party platforms supporting slavery. There were six from 1840 through 1860.

• Pressley, Booker, and colleagues are silent on Democrats paying reparations for the number of Democratic Party platforms that either supported segregation outright or were silent on the subject. There were 20, from 1868 through 1948.

• Pressley, Booker, and colleagues are not demanding their party pay reparations for its staunch support of “Jim Crow” — as in the laws. These were the post-Civil War laws passed enthusiastically by Democrat legislators of the day. These laws segregated public schools, public transportation, restaurants, restrooms, and public places in general (everything from water coolers to beaches). The reason Rosa Parks became famous is that she sat in the “whites only” front section of a bus in Montgomery, Ala., the “whites only” designation the direct result of Democratic local officials.

• Pressley, Booker, and colleagues are silent on Democrat reparations for the support of the Ku Klux Klan, which, according to Columbia University historian Eric Foner, became “a military force serving the interests of the Democratic Party.” They are also silent on reparations from the Democrat Party for, in the words of University of North Carolina historian Allen Trelease, using the Klan as the “terrorist arm” of the Democratic Party. Terrorism as in terrorizing black Americans. . . .

"The Federal Bureau of Investigation has a new sheriff in town with Kash Patel and Dan Bongino serving as its director and deputy director respectively under the second Trump presidency, but that doesn’t mean the riffraff that’s infected this agency are gone. "Now that Joy Reid has been finally let go by MSNBC, some of her network colleagues and fellow travelers on the far left are reacting the only way that they seem to know how: by crying racism.

Can Greg Gutfeld Save New York City?

"He is the host of the highest rated late night talk show on Fox News at 10:00 p.m. 

"His format usually includes two guests and two regulars discussing recent current events with humor, very politically incorrect comments, and frequently blipped-out blue language.

"He is way funnier than Bill Maher was when his Politically Incorrect show aired from New York but the most important thing about Gutfeld is the size of his audience and who is watching.

"According to year-end Nielsen ratings data released by Fox News, the late-night style show hosted by Greg Gutfeld grew its nightly average to 2,500,000 total viewers, a 35% increase over last year. Among viewers aged 25-54, it was a similar story, with a nightly average of 355,000 viewers, up 33% year-over-year.

"When Donald Trump appeared on Gutfeld last summer, the show, taped on Wednesday and aired in primetime, drew 4.9 million viewers, including 744,000 viewers among adults ages 25 to 54 years old (A25-54), the key demographic most-attractive to cable news advertisers.

"Trump’s interview on Gutfeld! came days after the second attempt on his life in two months. Yet he was relaxed, very personable and quite funny.  Some viewers even  admitted that they were charmed by his appearance, and this possibly had a little to do with his landslide victory. 

"So why am I hoping Gutfeld can help save my hometown from years of Democrat abuse?

"Gutfeld airs from midtown New York City and the increasing crime statistics were discussed among the guests on the show especially during the pandemic. The DOJ attacks on Trump through the TDS machinations of New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letitia James and the frequent release of criminals on the city’s no-bail policy were mocked hilariously." . . .

. . ."They are crazy up in Wisconsin, especially at the Governor’s office.  What are they smoking or putting in their coffee?  Your guess is as good as mine, but the governor is proposing a change to how we refer to “mom,” having decided that “inseminated person” is a better descriptor.  I couldn’t believe this story and had to read it twice to make sure it was true.

"On the other side, here comes Doug Schoen, a sane Democrat who probably sends his mother a card purchased in the Mother’s Day section at your favorite store, has a message for the Democrats.  This is the story:

If Democrats hope to right the ship and regain at least one chamber of Congress next year — or the White House in three — they must begin with a messaging strategy that speaks to the issues voters care about: the economy, public safety and border security.

They should start with the primary reason Trump won last November, the economy.

Trump made Americans’ economic pessimism and anger over inflation a centerpiece of his campaign, convincingly portraying Democrats as the party of elites who were out of touch with everyday Americans.

"Yes, out of touch big time because most Americans, especially the ones I know, don’t refer to their mothers as an “inseminated person.”  In fact, most of the men that I grew up with would punch you in the face if you referred to their mom in that way.

"So what’s going on?  It’s easy to say that they have not learned a thing about the election or the rejection of “woke.”  More likely they are so invested in “woke” that it will take another defeat to drive home the point that calling a woman something like that is “super loco,” as my late Cuban mother used to say.
