Dick Cheney vs. the Democrats

Senator Dianne Feinstein took the floor Tuesday to release a Democratic report ripping the CIA and the Bush Administration for torturing terrorists. She had the president's full backing. Congress was never shown the report because it's against U.S. government policy to negotiate with Republicans.  Argus Hamilton

Dick Cheney – New Report on CIA Deeply Flawed; “They didn’t bother to interview key people involved in the program.”

 

"Senator Mitch McConnell has characterized the new CIA report on “torture” as a last ditch effort by outgoing Democrats to stick their thumb in the eye of the George W. Bush administration and of course, he’s right.

"Where were all these Democrats when Obama was pulverizing suspected terrorists into dust with drones if they happened to be on his personal kill list? It’s convenient for Obama to kill terrorists with drones because they’re enemy combatants he’ll never have to place in Gitmo.

"Vice President Dick Cheney was interviewed by Bret Baier on FOX News Wednesday night and was asked about the highly partisan CIA “torture” report. He didn’t hold back:

NRO: Ignoring Risks to National Security   "The Feinstein report reflects the Democratic party’s contempt for U.S. intelligence agencies."

 

 

... "In the longer term, it could reveal secrets to our terrorist enemies and dry up sources of cooperation with other countries.

 

"But these effects will pale in comparison with the harm that Feinstein and her Democratic colleagues will do to our intelligence agencies. Their faithlessness will only discourage intelligence officers now, and in the future, to press the envelope to identify and stop future terrorist threats to the nation. We cannot blame CIA agents who will doubt the empty promises of support from politicians the next time that they are asked to risk their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to keep our nation safe. Combined with the Obama administration’s disheartening lack of support for the intelligence community, congressional attacks will only harm our security while threats to the nation are on the rise." ... Full article here.

 

DOJ not expected to initiate charges against CIA officers over torture report  ..."This means the Justice Department is standing by its earlier decision not to pursue criminal charges. Its investigators also reviewed the Committee's full report and did not find any new information that they had not previously considered in reaching their determination."   (Emphasis added)

California Democrat Rep. Speier Wants the CIA to Apologize for Depriving Murderous Terrorists of Sleep  "After throwing the good men and women of the CIA who serve and protect us under the bus, the Democrats now want them to apologize at a time when we are so precariously positioned in the world.

 

"Jackie Speier is leading the charge and wants the CIA to apologize to the murderous terrorists who plotted 9/11 and the consequent murder of almost 3,000 Americans."

As we apologize for the treatment we gave them. be sure to give them $1,000,000 for the beheaded body of James Foley

 Did I mention that Speier was a California Democrat?
