Barack Obama and Racial Double Standards

Peter Wehner  "Late last week I heard from a theologian of liberal leanings, someone with whom I have been in (often friendly) correspondence for years. He wrote me to voice his objections to my recent “diatribes” against President Obama. That didn’t particularly surprise me. What did surprise me is how he framed his objections. He didn’t take issue with the facts I’ve presented or even my interpretation of the facts. Rather, his concerns were expressed this way:"...
...."Normal standards of truth, evidence and argument no longer apply. Obama needs to be treated with kid gloves — even if he makes false and malicious charges against others and, in the process, does great damage to our civic and political culture."
(Emphasis added)

The NY Times breaks its eerie silence on the Trayvon Martin killing with a responsible piece urging people to respect the process and trust the prosecutor.   "So yes, the prosecutor can certainly indict Zimmerman on the basis of probable cause, but since she eventually needs to be ready to bring this to court and meet a "reasonable doubt" threshold, there is no time like the present for her to clear that hurdle in her own mind."
NBC and Editgate  "But the biggest problem for NBC News is that a single unnamed sacrificial scapegoat doesn't begin to pay for the deliberate crime of throwing gasoline on a racial fire that was already raging."

Zimmerman family challenges Holder on New Black Panthers, says no arrests ‘based solely on your race’
Read the Zimmerman's letter here.  It includes this DOJ definition of a hate crime:
Hate crime is the violence of intolerance and bigotry, intended to hurt and intimidate someone because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religious, sexual orientation, or disability. The purveyors of hate use explosives, arson, weapons, vandalism, physical violence, and verbal threats of violence to instill fear in their victims, leaving them vulnerable to more attacks and feeling alienated, helpless, suspicious and fearful. Others may become frustrated and angry if they believe the local government and other groups in the community will not protect them. When perpetrators of hate are not prosecuted as criminals and their acts not publicly condemned, their crimes can weaken even those communities with the healthiest race relations.
Obama's America: Man tells police group yelled ‘Trayvon,' then beat him  "Police are investigating the “racially motivated” beating of a 27-year-old man who was walking home from midtown bars early Saturday when he said he was jumped by five to eight men who shouted “Trayvon” before the attack."

Althouse posts this: "Good lord, what an ugly place we are in right now. Who would have thought that in the last year of Obama's presidential term, the public mind would obsess over race at this level? I'm recalling the media coverage of election night, 2008, and the inauguration, when there was a rhapsody of closure and a feeling — some called it "hope" — that we had entered a new era of harmony. How did we get sucked into some nightmare parody of the past? If it's not Obama's fault, can he at least do something to yank us up out of this awful place? In 2009 or even 2011, he would have given a speech. He would have believed he could rescue us with a speech, perhaps because we kind of thought he could. Maybe no one believes anymore. There's a hope vacuum, and look what's moving in."

The legacy of this president is just that; divisions between races, rich and poor, employed vs. unemployed, labor vs. management, unions against governments and demonization of all who disagree with this administration. The damage done by Democrats under Obama will be a long time healing and we must be rid of this man and his allies, despite all threats of race riots if he is not re-elected. TD
