Victor Davis Hanson; "In Egypt the Obama administration has managed to alienate the military, secular constitutionalists, the Islamists, and the proverbial street all at once. How and why?
"First, we have never articulated a consistent policy in the Middle East, partly because we cannot distinguish constitutional government from one-vote/one-time plebiscites.
"Second, this administration seems to harbor a distrust of governments that are more secular than not, and are pro-Western, as if they might somehow might be inauthentic or imposed from abroad.
"Third, our Middle East policy, such as it is, is just a loud “reset,” as if not being George Bush means anything at all.
"Country by country, chaos and violence arise, as our stature sinks."....
Dr Walid Phares; "Washington should suspend all training and aid to the Muslim Brotherhood, because of Terror" "....since the Obama Administration decided to cancel Bright Star joint military exercise with Egypt's Armed forces as a sanction for clearing up and dismantling the armed encampments in Cairo, this Administration should at the same time suspend all political, business and other training programs to Muslim Brotherhood linked organizations and entities at the State Department, at the US embassy in Cairo, and throughout the bureaucracy and US funded agencies. The Muslim Brotherhood have led violence against fellow citizens in Egypt, they were part of churches burning, sniping and torturing. Besides the Muslim Brotherhood have been linked to Jihadi violence in Sinai."
Jennifer Rubin; U.S. wrong in secretly cutting Egyptian aid "Aside from the penchant for non-transparency, this is entirely self-defeating — just as U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson’s public support for the Morsi government was. In both cases we leave Egyptians to believe we back their oppressors. Heaven forbid we should tell anyone we’re finally doing the right thing."....
...."The president’s policy is so hopelessly muddled that we have to rely on leaks to figure out what it is. That’s no way for a superpower to behave." (Emphasis added,TD)

Cartoon from Hope n' Change, with this comment: ...."Egypt has pretty much gone to hell, due in no small part to the fact that there is absolutely no intelligible foreign policy position from Barack Obama. Which is why, according to noted Rino John McCain, that the United States has no credibility in the Middle East."....
