"Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made an unfortunate slip during a campaign stop with Sen. Bernie Sanders on behalf of Kansas Democratic Congressional candidate Brent Welder Friday.
“Hello everybody,” Occasio-Cortez said on a video posted to Sanders’ Twitter account Friday evening. “I’m so excited to be hopping on here on Senator Sanders’ account. We’re here in Kansas City to rally for Brent Welder. We’re gonna flip this seat red in November.”
Thomas Lifson has much to say about this as well: Ocasio-Cortez embarrasses herself (and her backers) again . . . "Are there people behind her candidacy, who spotted a comely young Hispanic woman who could become the next Obama, all style with the substance supplied by another Valerie Jarrett?
Now, this is what is usually meant by "red":
"Ocasio-Cortez was seized upon as a symbol of a rising left, and now she threatens to embarrass her backers. Or worse."
I cannot say which wizard of smart assigned these political party colors as they did. TD
"Did Ocasio-Cortez mean flip a Red seat to Blue, or did she mean flip the Congressional seat Red, as in Communist Red? You be the judge.
