Urban legend; Wapo Anti-Obama article: "Obama: The Affirmative Action President"

TW received an email on the subject,"Obama: The Affirmative Action President" today. As usual, I like to check these things for accuracy and hopefully keep from posting the false rumors. Mr Obama has plenty of reasons for being unqualified to be president without us posting untrue articles. Those hurt us much more than they do the left, so be sure to check any anti-Obama stories. Below is what I have found in a search so far. These sites would be a good beginning: Snopes, TruthorFiction or FactCheck (however we cannot vouch for the biases of these sites).

From the left-wing blog SmokingPolitics: "Today, I was forwarded an email with the headline
"Amazing that the Wash. Post would actually print this. Amazing!" "
The Washington Post  August 18, 2011 Obama: The Affirmative Action President by Matt Patterson (columnist – Washington Post, New York Post, San Francisco Examiner)
"....Well, google Matt Patterson Online and here is his site. Seriously, go see it.  And here is his contribution as a ‘columnist’ to The Washington Post. A single online letter to the editor from 2009."

Also this site refutes the Obama article: Reader Meter: The Hermanator and ‘The Post’s’ Matt Patterson states:
The other is a parcel of e-mails wondering if someone named Matt Patterson works at The Washington Post, and asking if he wrote an anti-Obama satirical screed for The Post that is making the rounds of the Internet. The answer is, no, he doesn’t and he didn’t. This is not the first time I’ve received a round of e-mails about some anti-Obama rant allegedly written by someone from The Post....The mysterious Matt Patterson might be the Matt Patterson who contributes to the Examiner newspaper here in D.C. and who works for the conservative Capital Research Center. His work has appeared in The Post, but not this work.
However this refutation is in contrast to these links from American Thinker:  Obama: The Affirmative Action President by Matt Patterson

Osawatomie, Kansas: Whitewashing History, Obama Style

Heritage  "But in President Obama’s mind, it is others who offer ideas that don’t work, not him. He points to “a certain crowd in Washington” that argues for tax cuts and reduced regulations, calling it “a simple theory” that “fits well on a bumper sticker” but “has never worked.”
"Correction, Mr. President. It has worked–time and time again throughout history. The trouble is, Mr. Obama has never tried it, and the Keynesian economic policies he enacted fell flat on their face, just as they have throughout history." ....
"Yet despite these numbers — and the fact that President Obama had near-free rein to enact the Keynesian economic policies he saw fit — the President is now demagogues the one economic policy he hasn’t tried — supply-side economics — while calling for more government spending all as America’s debt is deepening. He would do better to study history and get a grasp of how cutting taxes and freeing the market has worked when employed by both Democrats and Republicans."

Charles Krauthammer: Obama’s campaign for class resentment   "In Kansas, Obama lamented that millions “are now forced to take their children to food banks.” You have to admire the audacity. That’s the kind of damning observation the opposition brings up when you’ve been in office three years. Yet Obama summoned it to make the case for his reelection!
"Why? Because, you see, he bears no responsibility for the current economic distress. It’s the rich. And, like Horatius at the bridge, Obama stands with the American masses against the soulless plutocrats.
"This is populism so crude that it channels not Teddy Roosevelt so much as Hugo Chavez. "....
"He can’t run on stewardship. He can’t run on policy. His signature initiatives — the stimulus, Obamacare and the failed cap-and-trade — will go unmentioned in his campaign ads. Indeed, they will be the stuff of Republican ads."

But the ignorant masses and their unwashed protesters will buy the whole thing  Don't believe me?
Remember the utter crassness of the Clinton's housing their contributors* in the Lincoln Bedroom?  Bill said they were forced to do that by the insane campaign financing procedures and they would change all that. The Clinton's then cast themselves as the promoters of campaign reform and the press along with their followers bought it!
*"Two of the Lincoln Bedroom's renters -- Linda Thomason and actress Markie Post -- are pictured here trashing the bed by treating it like a trampoline. The bed itself is considered a national treasure. Expect more of the same should Hillary take the presidency." But I digress.

Move it along there, softies!

Blacks file Class Action Racial Discrimination Suit Against Obama & Democrats

Red County (I hate that color for Republicans. It should have been the Democrat color!)
From September 20th, 2011 via National Black Republican Association .
"The plaintiffs, who refer to the defendants as "Father of Racism," allege that as an organization, the Democratic Party has consistently refused to apologize for the role they played  in slavery and Jim Crow laws and for other subsequent racist practices from 1792 to 2011. Rev. Wayne Perryman, a former Democrat himself and the lead plaintiff in this class action lawsuit, said he was inspired to file this action after seeing the recent movie The Help. The movie takes place in the region that was exclusively controlled by Democrats for more than 150 years (the South)."
What the Dixiecrats  called "separate but equal"
Excerpt from a comment to this article by Anonymous:
Now that rev(sic) Al Sharpton is to busy making millions working for MSNBC someone needs to step up and keep racism alive and these are just the folks for the job.

Frankly I think anyone that is willing to rehash all this b***s*** should be ashamed of themselves for belittling all the progress made by so many Black AND White people in the direction of equal rights. My middle name (Buriah) comes from a well decorated soldier from the Kingsley side of our family who fought in the Union army to help bring about the emancipation proclamation. S**t I think I should get an apology for them making it seem his fight was in vein(sp).
I think we can be sure that all those society ladies portrayed in "The Help" were registered Democrats.

The Republican Jewish Coalition Presidential Candidates Forum Winner Is….

PJ Media  "The high point of Romney’s speech was when he said as president he would make Israel his first foreign trip. This is in contrast to President Obama who has not visited Israel as president.
"Organizationally, just for the record, a minute before Romney had finished his speech I received an email of the speech as a press release. His is a campaign organization that is ready to roll and face the “Campaigner in Chief.”   (However...)
"Not wanting to rely just on my own instincts, I asked several other attendees who they thought had been the “winner” and all agreed it was Romney because he looked and acted the most presidential.
"The Republican Jewish Presidential Candidates Forum ended with the battle cry, “Remember in November! — and the Jewish community will play a historic role.”
"Let’s hope great change will occur within the American Jewish community at large in 2012 to nip away at that 78% of the vote that Obama won from them in 2008."

Christie to Obama: 'Get Out of Your Chair'  "Governor Chris Christie gave a compelling critique of President Obama yesterday at the Republican Jewish Coalition meeting:"
“This is a quote from the President of the United States. ‘But we need to meet the moment. We need to up our game’.”
-------
“Mr. President. We need a leader who will lead us to the moment…who will help define what the challenges of meeting the moment means… and then not to be cautious and safe and sit back and wait for someone else to do the hard work, but to get out of your chair and start doing the hard work yourself to make America a greater place.” Video
Alan Caruba: "What Were They Thinking?"  "The question—the fear—on the minds of most Republicans these days is whether the Party intends to commit political suicide by choosing the wrong candidate to run against Obama and to add to their present agony, it has a litter of candidates who run the gamut from charisma-challenged to scarily brilliant.
"Let’s review the choices."...

Obama Foreign Policy in A Brief: The President as (a) Turkey

Yid With Lid   "On October 5, 1938, Winston Churchill said in the House of Commons, regarding the Munich agreement in which Britain and France forced Czechoslovakia to cede the strategic Sudetenland to Germany, leading a few months later to that country’s extinction and a year later to World War Two:

“I will begin by saying what everybody would like to ignore or forget but which must nevertheless be stated, namely, that we have sustained a total and unmitigated defeat….”
Viscountess Astor ( perhaps the equivalent of Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich) shouted, “Nonsense!”

"People ask me: How can U.S. government officials believe such silly and wrong things about the Middle East? Let’s go behind the scenes for a case study of how this works." ....
"Yes, that’s it. Turkey’s Islamist regime, not the United States, is taking leadership and setting the example. It’s leading in an anti-American direction and setting a bad example. American interests are being trashed; American allies are in despair.
"Now multiply this example by a few hundred times and you have Obama foreign policy."  Barry Rubin.

Obama Administration calls Fort Hood terrorism "Workplace Violence"!

Fox News  "Sen. Susan Collins on Wednesday blasted the Defense Department for classifying the Fort Hood massacre as workplace violence and suggested political correctness is being placed above the security of the nation's Armed Forces at home."
....
"My faith in government is diminished. It invents euphemisms ... Little Rock is a drive by and Fort Hood is just workplace violence. The truth is denied," [Darius Long, whose son, Army Pvt. William Andrew Long
was shot and killed at an Arkansas military recruitment center in 2009] testified.
[Rep. Peter] King said the web is the driver of the new digital jihad.
"It enables people -- rather than having to travel to Afghanistan to learn about jihad or to be trained, they can do it right over the Internet," he said. "And this is a growing role."

Neal Boortz: Are you freaking kidding me?  "The Obama Gang has now informed us that this was not a terrorist attack, it was simply workplace violence. Yup, you got it .. .Nidal Hasan committed a simple “workplace violation.”
"We’ll say it again …. The Obama administration’s Department of Defense has, according to Sen. Susan Collins, classified the worst shooting on a military base by a Muslim in co-hoots with al Qaeda to be nothing more than a workplace violation.
"Forget the word “terrorism.” Forget the phrase Islamic terrorist. We are talking about the Obama administration here! This is the same administration that …
•Pulled any reference to Islam out of terrorism training manuals.
•Refuses to use the word terrorism because they are afraid it will offffffend(sic) someone. Instead they prefer the term "man-caused disaster."
•Said we needed to reach out to the Muslim world through … NASA?
Rep. Allen West sums it up in a Tweet, “America has no Commander in Chief.”

Leftists are so oblivious to threats to our nation it is hard to see how they could have the support of any factions other than celebrities, Communists, academics and people who defecate in the public square. Where do they get all those smiling sycophants who stand behind Obama at his campaign speeches?

The Covert Intelligence War Against Iran/ What would Ron Paul do?

STRATFOR   "There has been a lot of talk in the press lately about a “cold war” being waged by the United States, Israel and other U.S. allies against Iran. Such a struggle is certainly taking place, but in order to place recent developments in perspective, it is important to recognize that the covert intelligence war against Iran (and the Iranian response to this war) is clearly not a new phenomenon."
....
"The United States is currently in the process of completing the withdrawal of its combat forces from Iraq. With the destruction of the Iraqi military in 2003, the U.S. military became the only force able to counter Iranian conventional military strength in the Persian Gulf region. Because of this, the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq will create a power vacuum that the Iranians are eager to exploit. The potential for Iran to control a sphere of influence from western Afghanistan to the Mediterranean is a prospect that not only frightens regional players such as Israel, Saudi Arabia and Turkey but also raises serious concerns in the United States."
The Covert Intelligence War Against Iran is republished with permission of STRATFOR.
RQ-170 Sentinel drone

U.S. Considered Sending Commandos to Get Drone Downed in Iran   "American officials considered conducting a covert mission inside Iran to retrieve or destroy a stealth drone that crashed late last week -- but ultimately concluded such a secret operation was not worth the risk of provoking a more explosive clash with Tehran, a U.S. official said." ....
"No one warmed up to the option of recovering it or destroying it because of the potential it could become a larger incident," the U.S. official said. If an assault team entered the country to recover or destroy the drone, the official said, the U.S. "could be accused of an act of war" by the Iranian government.

We wouldn't want to harm our relationship with Iran or cause them to want to kill Americans.
Sounds like the Ron Paul foreign policy, which is amazingly similar to that of the Amateur Hour currently in the White House:
Ron Paul: Befriend Iran
Ron Paul Ignores Iran's Treachery;  "So Paul not only has shown that he has no understanding of the murderous radicals who rule Iran but has a dangerous lapse of memory. President Obama at first tried to do exactly what Paul argues now should be done -- and failed miserably."....
"Obama not only legitimized the brutal regime in Iran but he also then turned his back on the Iranian people, who had taken to the streets by the millions after the fraudulent elections of 2009, demanding an end to the thugocracy."  But I digress...

Back to that lost drone: US's military restraint on missing spy drone bolsters Israel's Iran hawks
"The Obama administration's decision after internal debate not to send US commando or air units into Iran to retrieve or destroy the secret RQ-170 stealth drone which fell into Iranian hands has strengthened the hands of the Israeli faction which argues the case for striking Iran's nuclear installations without waiting for the Americans to make their move."  from DEBKAfile as are the posts immediately following:

Iran's Guards on war footing – London. Spy drone capture is US, Israel setback  "Our sources add that possession of the drone is more than just a major intelligence coup for Tehran; it has acquired an important military edge before any overt military operation has been launched. Western and Israeli war planners now have cause to fear that Iran has penetrated the heart of their most secret intelligence and electronic technological hardware for striking its nuclear infrastructure. If Tehran is capable of reaching out and guiding an American stealth drone into landing from a distance, it may also be able to control the systems of other aircraft, manned or unmanned."  Oh boy; now we really, really better be nice to the Iranians.

How Iran's Nuclear Power Play Can Change Global Politics | World | AlterNet
From...from..Iranians for Ron Paul?  Bear in mind that this article was posted in July 2009 and it is the most recent one in this blog. Why they have stopped publishing for Ron Paul and do they have an opinion on Paul's recently stated Kumbaya Iran policy?

Newt Presents a Fresh New Virtual Face

donkeyhotey
Ann Coulter  "Soon, Gingrich was writing a foreword to a Toffler book -- the same one on the Republicans' reading list –- and spending Christmas with the pro-choice, anti-school prayer, Christian Coalition-hating Tofflers. Yes, there's nothing like having an old-fashioned Christmas with a doddering couple who hate prayer and Christians, love abortion and are afraid of their microwave.
"(Incidentally, this was around the same time the purportedly pro-abortion Mitt Romney, as a Mormon elder, was pressuring a woman who wanted to abort her child to continue the pregnancy and give up the baby for adoption -- something he was attacked for in Teddy Kennedy campaign ads a few years later.) Hillary Campaign Conspicuously Emerges

Washington Whispers   "In an E-mail, the Hillary Clinton for President campaign revived speculation that she is still interested in the Oval Office despite new denials that President Obama is considering replacing Vice President Joe Biden with his secretary of state. ..."The E-mail comes as a new Washington Whispers poll finds that Clinton is the runaway favorite of those seeking a third party candidate. In our poll, 39 percent picked Clinton as their choice to head a third party. Mike Huckabee is next at 20 percent and Donald Trump dead last at 12 percent."

A Democrat third party sounds great, but only Republicans are scatter-brained enough to have those. Do you think Hillary would be a factor without Ross Perot?

Obama as the other Roosevelt

Obama's class warfare speech

Obama at Osawatomie
The Last Incarnation of Barack Obama  "If there was any doubt where President Barack Obama’s ideological heart lies, yesterday he let it be known loud and clear in a wide-ranging speech in Osawatomie, Kansas. President Obama is at his core a dyed-in-the-wool progressive who sees the federal government as the answer to all of America’s problems. And he is charging full steam ahead on this far-left course toward Election Day 2012, despite the total failure of his big-government policies and an American people who have flatly rejected the message he is trying to sell.
"True to form, President Obama yesterday did what he does best: He delivered a flowery speech and flexed his rhetorical muscles. It’s a talent that won him the presidency, but unfortunately it hasn’t won the future for the American people. And that’s because the President’s underlying philosophy is terribly flawed."

'Pay no attention to that man behind the teleprompter'  "President Obama's class-warfare strategy is designed to divide Americans while keeping him hidden behind the teleprompter long enough to impose his socialist agenda. "

Warning Signs
TPM  "Obama has taken a lot of heat from the left over the years for failing to articulate an aggressive message against Republicans that directly targets their overarching small government message. Tuesday’s speech, however, went straight at Republicans core philosophy, moving Obama’s rhetoric much closer to their goal right as his re-election campaign heats up."  Obama Swings Left, Signals Occupy Movement: I’m With You
usnews.com

Obama's speech ... Fair Fair Fair  "The problem here is that the current occupant of the White House knows nothing about how to restore or promote economic growth. His goal is to push America toward a European-style socialist welfare state. Economic growth comes from a strong and vibrant free market economy. No other economic model in the history of the world has brought more people out of poverty than has capitalism. Obama simply does not like capitalism. He despises it. Hence his focus on balance and fairness."

Obama: demagogue  "And then we have this complete fallacy of millionaires paying at lower tax rates than millions in the middle-class.  You know the trickery Obama is pulling on you here.  He is referring to millionaires paying capital gains taxes versus middle class Americans who pay income taxes.  When you dig deep into the numbers, you will realize that the effective tax burden on millionaires is, on average, much higher than middle class tax payers."

And after many weeks of rolling out bite-sized initiatives, Obama’s grander ambitions were on full display.   "Are we on the verge of witnessing one of the greatest political events of modern times: the admission by Democrats that they are, in fact, socialists? " Comment

Obama Promises to Save the Middle Class by Enslaving It     "Nothing says middle-class triumph like more regulation, unionism, cronyism and endless spending."

Surely, that won't do. If not, what are you talking about exactly, Mr. President? Give us the big plan. What program have you devised that offers middle-class Americans more opportunity, not just more dependency? How have you expanded the fortunes of the bitter, occasionally clingy bourgeois in the past three years—by adding $4 trillion to their offspring's tab?
William A. Jacobson in Legal Insurrection:  Obama grows shorter   "I have posted numerous times before about Obama’s penchant for creating false choices in his speeches, invariably some non-existent supposedly conservative position versus his position. This enables Obama to knock down the conservative straw man * and make his own position seem reasonable by contrast. He’s a classic shorter.
"It’s a cheap rhetorical trick, but he can’t seem to shake the habit."
*The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position.

Big Statism in Osawatomie  "Today, too much power is concentrated in Washington and on Wall Street, and the two concentrations reinforce one another. Wall Street helps fund the campaigns of politicians in both parties, and in exchange the politicians give Wall Street regulation that insulates the biggest banks from competition by subsidizing their failures. The remedy here, too, is not more state control, but more competition and more free, unsubsidized enterprise."
