A veteran in England is taken away in handcuffs for 'causing anxiety'

American Thinker   "To the extent the Founders believed free speech to be a necessity—so much so that it got first place in the Bill of Rights—it was because they claimed that right as Englishmen. Because the Bill of Rights of 1689 enshrined freedom of speech and debate in Parliament as well as the right to petition the king, 90 years later, America-based Englishmen considered that speech to be their birthright. That makes it unutterably tragic that, on Friday in England, Darren Brady, an army veteran, was arrested and cuffed for “causing anxiety” to an anonymous complainant because he retweeted a Pride flag shaped into a swastika.

You’ve probably seen this Pride flag swastika, which actor turned activist Laurence Fox tweeted out during “Pride” month:

"This reworking of the now omnipresent Pride flag is not a threat that Nazis will round up the LGBTQ++ crowd and stick them into concentration camps. Instead, the point of the reworked flag is to show that the LGBTQ++ crowd has become so ascendent and powerful in Western society that it has Nazi-like control over others in society. As all who live in totalitarian societies know, criticizing those in power is dangerous.". . .

Why Did Disney 'Go Woke' and Start Hating America?

 Neon Nettle

"When you think of Disney today, it's hard not to be reminded of the corporation's far-left propaganda that attacks the very fabric of the American way of life.

"In recent months, the Walt Disney Company has launched a "woke" crusade to push a progressive ideology.

"Yet their attacks are limited to only targeting American families.

"The company recently announced that it would expand Disney+ streaming service operations to several Middle Eastern and African countries that criminalize homosexuality.". . .

Why don’t we just destroy the left with laughter?

American Thinker  "When Tucker Carlson had another great bit on renaming Monkeypox as Schlong Covid… with a democratic election with no cheating because that only happens when leftists lose, it was another great lesson on why we all need to be happy warriors against the liberty-denying left.

"Renaming Monkeypox as Schlong Covid was funny on multiple levels in and of itself, but some of the other choices were equally inciteful.  It combined an uproariously funny takedown of the pandemic panic with a double entendre that didn’t disappoint in sending the fascist far left into their usual spasms of humorless offense.

"He even mentioned ballot harvesting, and that just won’t do, because we all know those people always conduct themselves with the utmost integrity.  Except when they’re caught cheating, then it’s all a ‘conspiracy theory’ don’t you know.

"All of this is a good reminder that one of the best ways of fighting against the enemies of liberty on the left is with humor.  Being a happy warrior for the pro-freedom right.  So, this will be our rundown on the 5 reasons why this is an excellent idea all around.

The Incredible Implosion of Team Kamala –

  PJ Media

"It seemed obvious that Joe Biden’s selection of Kamala Harris as his running mate was a bad idea. Of all the Black Women™ he could have chosen, how he landed on her is a question for the ages. Unless, of course, someone figured they needed someone so awful that she would make Joe Biden look better by comparison."

I suppose that’s it.

"The Biden-Harris White House has had over 30 senior staffers jump ship — many from Kamala’s office. The latest is Michael Collins, Harris’s director of public engagement; he follows senior aides Meghan Groob and Rohini Kosoglu, who departed a few weeks prior. Groob was Kamala’s director of speechwriting; it’s easy to understand that one, because who would have actually thought she had a director of speechwriting anyway?

“It has been a difficult decision, but I’ve decided to leave this amazing experience in the middle of August and transition to the next stage of my life,” Collins said in his letter of resignation. “I’m so grateful to the Vice President for trusting me with this privilege and was honored to support the President’s and Vice President’s tireless, committed and historic work.”

"Collins had been in his position for sixteen months, and leaving now, mere months before the midterms, seems oddly self-serving. Turnover in an administration is common, but too much turnover is typically a sign of trouble. People tend to spend two to four years at the White House before moving on. The rapid turnover in the Trump administration was seen as a sign of problems, and it definitely was. So objective observers can’t deny that staffers are leaving the Biden administration at a rate that indicates all is not well — even if the administration won’t admit it. Team Kamala is imploding…fast.". . .

'Meathead': Rob Reiner Ridiculed for Claiming Biden Is Best President in Almost 60 Years

But Democrats in the audiences give him, Colbert and "The View" ladies et al. their loud approval as commanded by the electric applause sign.

"Louder! I can't hear you!"

 Breitbart

. . ."The result has been widespread ridicule, with the term “Meathead” trending on Twitter late Friday. (“Meathead” refers to the dim-witted character Reiner played on the sitcom All in the Family).

Reiner, who was one of Biden’s biggest Hollywood fundraisers during the 2020 election, trumpeted his opinion while acknowledging that it goes against the prevailing popular sentiment. As Breitbart News reported, a recent Yahoo News/YouGov survey found that just one in five Americans want Biden to run for reelection in 2024.

“Screw politics. Screw poll numbers,” Reiner tweeted Friday. “Joe Biden has  a record of accomplishments in the first two years of his Presidency that has gone unmatched for almost 60 years.”

"By Reiner’s estimation, Biden has outperformed every president since Lyndon Johnson."

He does have friends in high places:

Gascón Lawyers Up

To fight his own prosecutors, not the violent crime now surging across Los Angeles.

Tony Branco

"Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón has retained Neal K. Katyal, the former acting U.S. solicitor general who represented Al Gore in the 2000 election dispute, but not to assist in the prosecution of violent crime now surging across the city. The Soros-backed D.A. has retained Katyal, reportedly one of the most expensive lawyers in the nation, to fight his own prosecutors.

"They want Gascón to uphold California’s “three-strikes law” and other measures that punish repeat offenders. Gascón refuses, and he recently stepped up his efforts against victims of violent crime.

"Gascón is “disbanding a group of victim advocates and prosecutors in the D.A.’s office who notify victims and their family members about their assailant’s parole hearings.” Embattled colleagues quickly pushed back.

“ 'What Gascón wants to do,” says deputy D.A. John Lewin, “is make it so not only the next of kin are unaware of these parole hearings, but he wants to make sure that prosecutors and district attorney’s offices don’t hear about them either.” This was not the D.A.’s first offense against victims. Shortly after taking office in 2020, Gascón banned prosecutors from attending parole hearings.". . .

Mosby gone; now how about George Soros?

New American  "In Baltimore, arguably one of the most violent and corrupt cities in the country thanks to its overwhelmingly Democratic Party rule, voters had enough of the city’s state attorney. In her bid for another term, Marilyn Mosby placed third in the party’s primary election last week.

"Even the strong likelihood that mail-in ballots were fraudulently submitted to support her campaign, they weren’t enough. She finished third behind two other lesser-known candidates. Thanks to those bail-in ballots, and the state’s rule that they can be counted up to two days after the day of the election, the final results weren’t released until Friday night.

"Mosby made a major mistake: She ran on her record. She celebrated reducing the prison population significantly (using Covid as an excuse); she rejoiced at “holding police officers” accountable for their alleged misdeeds; and she was pleased to have exonerated many criminals after she reviewed their convictions through her progressive lens.

"Her record speaks for itself. During the eight years before she took office in 2014, there had been an average of 229 homicides per year in Baltimore. During her five-year reign, that average jumped to 331 — nearly a 50-percent increase.

"Right behind were increases in rapes, aggravated assaults, and robberies, jumping 13 percent, 12 percent, and 42 percent, respectively.

"Mosby gained national attention when she overcharged six police officers involved in the arrest of street thug Freddie Gray in 2015. He was arrested for illegally carrying a flip-out knife (he had a record of at least 18 prior arrests, including drug and assault charges).

"It took all six officers to subdue Gray and force him into a police van for transport to police headquarters. As National Review Online explained:. . ."

A shocking video shows how racialized America has become

American Thinker  . . ."The video would be disturbing enough if everyone were watching it and cheering on the spectacle. But still, it would be limited to being an ecumenical disregard for street violence. What makes it such a tragic and disturbing video is that the audience cares only when the Black men are at risk.

"What we are witnessing is a completely broken society. For the last 15 years, we’ve been the victims of Democrat racial obsessions, starting with Barack Obama’s presidency (his grandmother was a typical White woman, Trayvon Martin could have been his son, the police acted stupidly....) and culminating with the “fine people” hoax about Trump and the introduction of Critical Race Theory into schools and corporations.

"The result is what this video suggests (and I admit that there is a lot of context missing): Too many Black people feel utterly alienated from Whites in their society. They don’t view street violence as a “criminals versus law-abiding people” problem affecting all of us; they divvy up the fights by skin color. In the gladiatorial ring that is urban America, all you need to know is the color of someone’s skin to cheer for the “good” guys and boo for the “bad” ones.

"I honestly don’t know how one repairs a societal breakage this bad. The one thing I do know is that Critical Race Theory, which insists that Blacks are victims without agency over their lives and Whites are racist bullies without control over their actions or consciences is the opposite of the answer—yet it’s what the current administration is forcing onto America.". . .

Military Recruitment Crisis Underway as Biden Admin Continues Emphasis on Wokeness, Vaccine Mandates

Legal Insurrection

"Usually, when there is a crisis (whether perceived or real) in America, the mainstream media will jump right on it, filing umpteen evening news reports and newspaper articles in hopes of ensuring that at some point, their readers and viewers will eventually come around to caring and getting outraged enough to Do Something™.

"But in the case of the very real military recruitment crisis that is currently underway in this country, we see very little from Big Media outside of the obligatory pieces noting how 2022 recruiting goals across all military branches are way down, with NBC News recently reporting on how the numbers “show both a record low percentage of young Americans eligible to serve and an even tinier fraction willing to consider it.”

"Per the Army Times, the hardest hit among the branches is the U.S. Army, where standards are being relaxed/lowered in hopes of enticing new recruits to join:

"Defense Department officials have been sounding the alarm for months: the military is going to miss its enlisted recruiting goals this year, and the Army may be in the worst spot of any of the services.

"As of late June, according to an Army spokesperson, the Army had only hit 40% of its recruiting goal of 55,400 new soldiers for fiscal year 2022. The reasons contributing to plunging recruitment are complex, including more detailed medical screenings, a shrinking proportion of Americans eligible to serve, poor marketing practices, low civilian unemployment and more. In the face of the challenge, the service is pulling out nearly all the stops to ensure the ranks are filled.". . .

Democracy Dies in Demagoguery -

We are told to trust the wisdom of the American voter - the very voters who put these same people, mostly Democrats, into the American government. The Tunnel Dweller

The American Spectator | USA News and Politics   "Last week, some members of the Squad were back to doing what they do best: pretending that photo ops and Twitter appeals equate to good governance.

"This time, they and some of their radical colleagues joined a pro-abortion protest on the steps of the Supreme Court building. Never mind that these public servants swore an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States,” which doesn’t say anything about abortion and says quite a bit about the separation of powers. Such niceties are quickly abandoned when there are clicks and contributions to be collected, especially in a difficult election year.

"Leading the charge was everyone’s favorite spotlight-chaser, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). After being arrested for blocking traffic, she pretended to be handcuffed until she couldn’t help attracting even more attention by making a fist pump. Predictably, a fundraising email went out to her supporters immediately after this bravura performance of political dinner theater.

"A Disturbing Pattern

"This is not the first time a Squad member has abandoned any pretense of respect for the Constitution in order to pursue purely ideological goals. Ocasio-Cortez has made a particular habit of such behavior, from claiming that Republicans “amended [the] Constitution to kick FDR out of office,” to accusing the Court of initiating a “judicial coup” by choosing to hear an election-law case, to her continuing crusade to pack the Court with liberal justices.". . .

Democrat Primary Ad Hits Rep. Jerry Nadler for Being a Man

 - The American Spectator | USA News and Politics  . . ."Of all of the criticisms that could be made of Nadler, that he is insufficiently pro-abortion is a strange one to make. NARAL Pro-Choice America gives Nadler a legislative score of 100 percent. He introduced legislation to pack the Supreme Court in 2021, before the decision in Dobbs that stoked liberal rage at the institution. He also chairs the House Judiciary Committee and has held hearings about the Dobbs decision, including one where a Democratic witness claimed that men could get pregnant and have abortions.

"The only vote Nadler has ever taken that could even remotely be construed as pro-life was his support for the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002. The bill passed the House by a voice vote, so no roll call was taken, and it is unclear where Maloney stood on it. The bill went on to pass the Senate unanimously and be signed into law by President George W. Bush, demonstrating how uncontroversial it was. Nadler has given leftists everything they could possibly want on the abortion issue. His only problem, apparently, is that he is male.

"Primary races between incumbent members of Congress are rare but sometimes occur when redistricting scrambles congressional lines. In the case of New York, Democrats tried to gerrymander the state and protect their incumbents, drawing a brutal gerrymander that left only four of the state’s 26 congressional districts favoring Republicans and contorted Nadler’s district into an “S” shape.
