"So many of us have had this reaction, and it's hard to explain, and obviously he meant more to us than many of us really know, since this has become a very common thing I've been hearing from everybody, and we've all felt this and wondered, it's almost like we took him for granted, and really felt overwhelmed by this shocking and horrific terrorist attack on our core values of what is good and right in our country. Charlie was the good guy who just liked to debate people and have civil discourse, and spoke the truth, and no matter how much he disagreed, he was always respectful, and it really hurts normal good people, because this is how normal good people work through disagreements without resorting to violence, and they killed him for that. They're basically telling us to shut up or die, and that the diplomacy card, has been taken off the table. That's a very scary realization, if this is where our country is now at."
"I've seen Charlie talk a lot. He is fundamentally decent and willing to not show disgust or anger at the things he heard, but just stuck to the facts he knew. He is the best that Christianity has to offer. Willing to listen, but unwilling to hear lies without comment. He came to his talks prepared with facts to disprove what he heard. And among the radical left, that cannot be tolerated, with apparently extreme prejudice. Apparently a lot of folks in the US have heard him speak and know his fundamental goodness.. so to have him assassinated, it hits home since most people are trying to be nice, fit in, work hard, and treat people fairly. What it says to all of us is this: speak up and get assassinated."
