Biden Repeatedly Ignored Warnings About Border Crisis, Feared Backlash From Left, Insiders Say

Implying that Biden was capable of considering the results of his actions and weighing options.

The Stream

"By the summer of 2024, a majority of Latino voters supported mass deportation of illegal migrants, smashing the Biden administration’s assumption that hawkish border policies would alienate the constituency."

They knew it was coming! Followed by "Thank you, Joe"

"President Joe Biden reportedly ignored early warnings from advisors that his immigration platform could create a border crisis and dragged his feet on solutions as crossings reached historical levels.

"Before Biden was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States, experts were already cautioning his transition team that his immigration positions would likely stir chaos at the Mexico border, according to administration insiders who spoke to the New York Times. Biden and his team rebuffed these warnings, concerned they would lose Latino support and underestimating how much Americans would care about the issue. (RELATED:

“A potential surge could create chaos and a humanitarian crisis, overwhelm processing capacities, and imperil the agenda of the new administration,” read a memo created by several aides before the 2020 presidential election, which was obtained by the NYT.

"That memo proved prophetic after Biden immediately got to work on dismantling the border enforcement apparatus established by the first Trump administration and overseeing the largest spike in illegal immigration.

"Biden undertook a total of 296 executive actions on immigration in the first year of his presidency, according to an analysis by the Migration Policy Institute. Of these executive actions, 89 reversed or began the process of reversing President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

"The Democrat scrubbed major initiatives undertaken by the first Trump administration, such as ending border wall construction, the shutdown of the Remain in Mexico program and ending the COVID-era Title 42 health order that quickly expelled migrants.

"Those actions quickly paved the way for a flood of illegal migrants descending into the country.

"There were roughly 8.5 million southern border encounters during Biden’s time in the White House, with fiscal year 2023 and fiscal year 2024 being the worst years for migrant crossings in history. These numbers not only overwhelmed federal immigration officials and border states, but also became a problem for local officials in the interior of the country, forcing leaders in New York City, Denver and elsewhere to get tougher on illegal migrants.

"As the situation at the border continued to escalate, the Biden administration reportedly kept rebuffing proposals to stem the situation out of political fears."

Hollywoke’s Last Gasp — Race and Gender Swapping

"Ho[l]lywood ignored the cultural winds shifting beneath it — and now the backlash is blowing back."

 The American Spectator

[T]here’s no end in sight to the two most simplistic and self-destructive devices in their control — gender-swapping and race-swapping.

"Zeitgeist is a fascinating subject for study, conducive to a number of questions. Here are three. At what point does the culture change? When does the change become undeniable? Does it come from the top down or the reverse?

"For players in the entertainment business, these are not abstract questions but crucial monetary ones that will determine the success or failure of their product. They may ignore the warning signs to maintain ideological purity, but they can’t escape the consequences. Then, the ultimate question becomes how badly will they get hit? One answer — badly, but not badly enough to make them reverse course, until they’re thrown out.

"As I cited in a recent article here, director Christopher Nolan should have felt the increasing headwind against a woke version of The Odyssey two years ago, especially given the story he was telling. In Homer’s epic, King Aeolus, “the keeper of the winds,” gives Odysseus a bag full of winds to advance his journey home, cautioning him not to open it all at once. After 10 days, within sight of Ithaca, his crewmen open the bag and get the ship blown all the way back to Aeolus.

"Director Nolan metaphorically opened the windbag and will soon also pay a heavy price. I cited many of his problems — a feminist translation, a moderately attractive black actress (Lupita Nyong’o) as Helen of Troy, a plain brown actress (Zendaya) as Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and an actress claiming to be an actor (Elliot Page) as one of Odysseus’ warrior sailors. All and any of these will repel a lot of moviegoers.

"Nolan might give the excuse of being part of the woke wave when he began developing the movie, though there was already a backdraft in 2022. But there can be no excuse for others moving forward, only contempt for the majority traditionalist audience. So there’s no end in sight to the two most simplistic and self-destructive devices in their control — gender-swapping and race-swapping." . . . More...

Canada Shows The Gruesome Side Of Socialized Healthcare

 Issues & Insights

"Gruesome as this is, it is exactly what will happen here if people are foolish enough to fall for the promise of “free” “universal” healthcare."

"In Canada, if your doctor refers you to a specialist, you’ll likely have to wait 15 weeks to get an appointment. Then another 13 weeks to get treated. Just getting an MRI will take 4 1/2 months, on average. But if you want to kill yourself? You can get a same-day appointment.

"Welcome to the healthcare system that Bernie Sanders and his socialist pals want to import into the U.S.

"A decade ago, Canada legalized “Medical Assistance in Dying,” or MAID. At first it was limited to those whose deaths were “reasonably foreseeable,” such as end-stage terminal cancer patients. Five years later, it was expanded to those whose “death is not reasonably foreseeable.” People with a disability or non-terminal illnesses could get a doctor to snuff them out. Lawmakers expanded it again to include those suffering solely from a mental illness, which the government expects to implement next year.

"MAID is already big business in Canada. Nearly 100,000 Canadians have availed themselves of this form of “healthcare,” and it now accounts for more than 5% of all deaths in the country.

"And the government seems to be doing everything it can to make it a runaway hit. Lawmakers waived the 10-day waiting period for those whose deaths “are reasonably foreseeable,” and the rest have to wait only 90 days.

"The result is that same-day or next-day killings are common, which one member of the MAID Death Review Committee said “reveals remarkable fast‐tracking of euthanasia.”

“'One elderly woman declined MAID and preferred palliative care,” he wrote. “When a hospice placement request was rejected, her husband, who had been assessed as struggling with ‘caregiver burnout’ asked for an urgent MAID assessment. She was euthanized that day.”

"Nor does the state appear to care much about enforcing its own rules. " . . .  More...

Damning data: Foreigners are taking all our jobs - Olivia Murray

Uncle Paul's Parodies

. . . "I never voted until Trump entered politics, because I never believed any of the candidates would actually fight for me and my interests, and I therefore couldn’t be bothered. What difference would it make in my world? They were all the same corrupt liars. Romney? Obama? McCain? Dubya?! I mean seriously. Talk about a gross uniparty club.

"But then came along Donald Trump, and though I couldn’t vote for him in the 2016 election (I hadn’t registered in time with a new move), I believed he was different, and proudly supported him at the ballot box in 2020 and 2024.

"And while a lot of Republicans complained about how he wasn’t “presidential” or how he was too “childish” or snipey, those traits were exactly why I loved him so much. He was a master troll, and I found that admirable, not pathetic.

"But all that trolling slop doesn’t do it for me anymore—I don’t care about a joke to rename ICE as NICE, and I don’t care about “owning the libs” with memes. Don’t get me wrong, that was necessary and relevant in the decade-past, but now I need serious results. I want those gosh dang mass deportations I was promised, the main reason I was willing to lose friends and family over my support of Trump, and take endless amounts of political abuse stumping for the man in the Democrat stronghold of Tucson for all those years. And the excuse that Trump “doesn’t have the support he needs” to fulfill that campaign promise is a load of BS—Greg Bovino was in there, and he was ousted real quick.
