DeSantis Criticizes California’s Policies After Newsom Meme Targets Miami Crime Statistics
“To be bipartisan, you know, I do have to acknowledge that under Gavin Newsom’s leadership, California, they are No. 1 in a lot of things: No. 1 in homelessness. No. 1 in public defecation. No. 1 in tent cities. No. 1 for highest income tax in the country. No. 1 for highest sales tax. No. 1 for highest gas tax,” DeSantis said." ...He also noted California has “the highest electricity rates in the continental United States.”
Gavin Newsom’s California Is a Crashing Caliphate of Chaos California’s dysfunction is spreading to the rest of the country.
But that sure won’t stop him from trying to inflict his brand of misery on us. And as that terrible crash in Florida showed, Newsom is already more than capable of causing chaos everywhere in America.

Gov. Gavin Newsom, Fiddled On While California Burned |
. . . The video of the Florida wreck from the driver’s cab is bone-chilling, in that Singh doesn’t seem to have a care in the world as he makes an utterly insane illegal U-turn on an interstate highway, leading to an SUV carrying a driver and two passengers barreling into the side of his semi-trailer. Photos after the wreck show him to be amazingly composed, and perhaps remorseless, after causing the deaths of three people.
"I’ve been hearing for months from people in the trucking industry about illegal aliens proliferating on the roads carrying freight with zero professional qualifications or appreciable skills, making the highways far less safe. That Singh’s CDL came from California would track perfectly with those complaints — it’s Newsom’s California, so I’m told, which has been the source of the unsafe illegal truck drivers fanning out across the country.
"Remember — a very large percentage of the freight loads traveling on our highways originate at California ports like Long Beach. So when that state gives CDLs to unqualified truckers and California trucking companies hire them, it’s a rapidly spreading cancer that infects the whole industry. This gets reflected in commercial auto insurance rates across America, among other things.
"So when Singh killed those people over the weekend, it became just another data point in this ugly story.
"Newsom is becoming — that isn’t right; he has been for some time — the Typhoid Mary of awful public policy, creating misery for ordinary folks. And we see that again and again in California itself.
"The response to the Pacific Palisades fire is a spot-on example. Poor forest management in the hills above that community, going back decades, but perhaps intensifying on Newsom’s watch, when it was more and more obviously necessary to clear underbrush and create fire breaks to shield populated areas from wildfires, led to those people being burned out of their homes. That was certainly bad enough. (RELATED: Wildfires As a Wake-Up Call)
"But eight months on, the residents of Pacific Palisades — who have wealth and insurance checks, and aren’t generally in need of public assistance to rebuild — have barely even begun to reconstruct what they’ve lost. Why? Bureaucracy. State and local governments in California are slow-walking the permitting process for people to begin not new construction but replacement construction on their property.
