Meet The British Billionaire Bankrolling Leftist Causes Across America

 The Federalist

“Christopher Hohn, and other foreign billionaires like Hansjörg Wyss, have been able to exploit loopholes that allow foreign money to fund policy fights that shape American politics to fit their radical agendas,. . .”

Left-wing politics have utterly destroyed the once-respected nation of Great Britain. And now, its elites are seeking to subsidize these same destructive ideologies throughout the United States.

"On Wednesday, the good government group Americans for Public Trust (APT) released a bombshell report unearthing the extensive financial activity of British billionaire Christopher Hohn in U.S. political causes. Through the use of his nonprofit, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Hohn has “funneled over $553 million into U.S. organizations from 2014 through 2023 to bankroll advocacy campaigns and push a radical green energy agenda,” according to the analysis.

“The American people are overwhelmingly opposed to and alarmed by foreign influence shaping our politics,” APT Executive Director Caitlin Sutherland said in a statement. “If these radical foreign billionaires are allowed to funnel money into our political system virtually unchecked, there’s nothing stopping foreign adversaries from doing the same.”

The APT report focuses on numerous subject areas touched by Hohn’s foreign dark-money influence, including radical environmentalism.

Per the analysis, the British billionaire is “one of the largest disclosed individual donors to date to the global organization Extinction Rebellion, or XR,” which APT describes as an “international collective founded in 2018 … [that is] behind a series of mob-style protests across the globe.” These demonstrations, according to the report, aim to “’halt mass extinction’ and ‘minimize the risk of social collapse’ [XR] perceives as tied to climate change.”

“XR’s American affiliate has called for ‘rebellion against the U.S. government for its criminal inaction on the ecological crisis,’ and in 2019, claimed that its volunteers had ‘seized’ over twenty intersections in Washington, D.C. during a protest,” the report reads, noting additional arrests in D.C. and New York City during prior XR protests. “Despite these hyperbolic claims — and the optics of a foreign citizen supporting a group calling for an insurrection against the U.S. government — Hohn gave XR at least $65,000 from his personal fortune, and another, separate contribution via CIFF, totaling nearly $200,000.” . . Bad Night for Antifa in Portland As Feds Move In

Sister Toldjah

"As RedState reported, President Donald Trump announced Saturday morning that he had authorized sending troops to Portland, Oregon, in response to ongoing anti-ICE violence in the notoriously far-left, poorly-led blue city, some of which is being orchestrated by the leftist Antifa rioters that Democrats keep claiming don't exist.

" 'I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists,” Trump said on Truth Social, noting he was authorizing them to use "full force" if necessary.

"In response, Antifa has reportedly planned a "direct action" event at the Portland ICE facility, set to take place sometime Sunday afternoon." . . .

Portland, Oregon, is affirming its sanctuary city identity as Trump pledges to send in troops | CNN  . . . " In response, Louisville, Kentucky, dropped its policy refusing to hold immigration suspects in its local jail for ICE, with the mayor acknowledging that “millions of dollars in federal grants were at stake.”
"From Portland, the message has been much different.
"As a proud sanctuary city in a sanctuary state,” Mayor Wilson said, “we are committed to protecting the rights and dignity of all who live here, working together to strengthen our community.”
"Portland first called itself a sanctuary city nearly a decade ago with a
nonbinding resolution saying the Portland Police Bureau “shall not cooperate with
ICE except as expressly required by Federal Law.” This week, the city council discussed taking things further by making its sanctuary status permanent." . . .
Destructive protests of 5 years ago still on leaders’ minds
"While city leaders have been largely supportive of the right to protest outside the ICE facility, they have also made it clear they do not want a repeat of the city’s most notorious demonstrations in 2020." . . .

 Can This Nation Be Saved?
. . . "It is no surprise that these commissions generally reflect the worldviews of the prevailing government that forms them.  Communist governments are quick to label past “right-wing” officials as “murderers” while memorializing their own murderers as “patriots,” “civil rights heroes,” or “noble revolutionaries.”  Politically correct governments in the West today often describe their countries’ founders and explorers as “racists,” “white supremacists,” “imperialists,” and perpetrators of “genocide.”  No doubt the people alive during these consequential periods of history would take exception to the way they are remembered, but descendants — particularly descendants in possession of political power — maintain at least a temporary monopoly over the historical record." . . .

Left-Wing Terrorism Has Been Unleashed

  Issues & Insights

"For years, we were told by government officials and outside “experts” that the terrorists in our midst were mostly right-wing fanatics – a list that under the Biden administration came to include parents who spoke up at local school board meetings and Catholics who like the Latin mass.

"But even the left is now admitting what everyone else already knows.

Namely, that despite their constant bleating about tolerance and peace, it’s leftists who pose the greatest threat to Americans.

""This week, the Trump-hating Atlantic magazine published an article titled “Left-Wing Terrorism Is on the Rise,” written by scholars at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

“We found that left-wing terrorism has increased since President Donald Trump’s rise to political prominence in 2016. Indeed, 2025 marks the first time in more than 30 years that left-wing attacks outnumber those from the far right.”

"By early July, “far-left extremists had already been responsible for five terrorist attacks and plots, putting 2025 on pace to be the left’s most violent year in more than three decades.”

"And their list doesn’t include the killer who slaughtered two children in a Minneapolis church, the gunman who shot up ABC10 in Sacramento, the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the killing in a New Hampshire restaurant by a gunman who shouted “free Palestine,” or the attempted assassination of ICE agents in Dallas by a shooter who engraved bullet casings with “Anti-ICE” (but who ended up killing an illegal immigrant). All of these political attacks were committed by leftists — in just the past month.

"It’s likely even worse and much more lopsided than that.

"We don’t know what the CSIS authors are counting as “left wing” or “right wing” terrorist attacks, but our guess is that – based on other such assessments – they have downplayed the former and exaggerated the latter. Does CSIS include the 2020 BLM riots or the pro-Hamas campus sieges or the multitude of Antifa attacks as left-wing terrorism?

"A widely cited report from the Anti-Defamation League claimed that three-quarters of “extremist” killings from 2015 to 2024 were carried out by right-wingers. But a closer look found that the ADL stretched the meaning of “right wing” to the point of absurdity to increase those numbers, while ignoring some even obvious left-wing killings – such as the assassination of the UnitedHealthcare CEO by an overtly leftist (alleged) attacker.

"A recent paper published by the libertarian Cato Institute made the same mistake. For example, the Cato paper counts Peyton Gendron, who murdered 10 people in a Buffalo supermarket and whose manifesto described himself as an “eco-fascist national socialist,” as “right-wing.”  . . .

The Left’s Hatred Runs Deep, Even in Congress

"I have a final question, for all of us. Does this hatred that manifests itself among the Left, is it top-down? Does it trickle down from Gavin Newsom? Does it trickle down from Jasmine Crockett? And it goes all the way down and then we see people like Tyler Robinson absorb it? Or Luigi Mangione absorb it? Or Antifa absorb it? Is that what’s happening? Or is it bottom-up?"

For Too Many in Education, Charlie Kirk’s Assassin Is Exactly the Type of Person They Are Trying to Create

The American Spectator   Some serious self-reflection is due from those in charge of teaching our kids.

We send our kids to schools for six-plus hours a day. They’re being taught something. If it’s not reading, writing, math, and science, then what is it?

"Recently, the National Assessment for Educational Progress (NAEP) released its 2025 report, assessing that there was no educational progress. Called the Nation’s Report Card, NAEP measures math, reading, and science performance in fourth, eighth, and 12th grades. Scores on all three tests administered in 2024 were down from 2019 results.
"“Students from the class of 2024 had historically low scores on a major national test administered just months before they graduated,” as one media report described the results. Education Secretary Linda McMahon lamented that the “NAEP results confirm a devastating trend: American students are testing at historic lows across all of K-12.”
"The hundreds of billions of dollars showered on schools (and teachers’ unions) have been unable to reverse the losses from COVID closures.
"We send our kids to schools for six-plus hours a day. They’re being taught something. If it’s not reading, writing, math, and science, then what is it?
"The day after receiving NAEP’s bad news, we found out what at least some of them are learning.
"In the wake of the Charlie Kirk assassination, the nation discovered that his killer is exactly the type of person many of those in charge of educating our kids are trying to create.
"A significant portion of those exposed for celebrating Mr. Kirk’s cold-blooded murder are teachers, professors, school officials, and school board members. This phenomenon even captured the attention of the legacy media, though they predictably portrayed the offenders as most sympathetically
"To anyone paying attention, this is no surprise. Social media accounts have garnered massive followings mainly by highlighting outlandish pronouncements by teachers and other school officials publicly posted on the internet.
"This is a time for those working in and around education to commit to some self-reflection.
Education or Indoctrination?
"The campus protests of the last two years, infected by antisemitism and support for Hamas terrorists, are often led by or featuring faculty. With few exceptions, higher education institutions hardly covered themselves in glory while dealing with these “protests.” The more elite the schools, the worse they handled them.. . .  More...
