Many Republicans have warned that if the Democrats can seize the House in the 2026 midterms, it is almost certain the president will be impeached a third time.

"President Donald Trump slammed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., on Tuesday after the congresswoman called for the impeachment of the president over his ordering of strikes against Iran's Fordo nuclear facility over the weekend.

" 'Stupid AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, one of the "dumbest" people in Congress, is now calling for my Impeachment, despite the fact that the Crooked and Corrupt Democrats have already done that twice before," Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.

"Almost immediately following the airstrikes on Iran on Saturday evening, Ocasio-Cortez posted, " 'The President's disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers."

"She added, "He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment."

"Trump offered lengthy comments against not only Ocasio-Cortez but hard left-wing colleagues Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn.; and Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, as well saying that Ocasio-Cortez was slightly more intelligent.

" 'Crockett, who is a seriously Low IQ individual, or Ilhan Omar, who does nothing but complain about our Country, yet the Failed Country that she comes from doesn't have a Government, is drenched in Crime and Poverty, and is rated one of the WORST in the World, if it's even rated at all."

Hours After Trump Declares Ceasefire, Iran Denies Agreement, Blames Israel for Starting War

"Just hours after President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, Tehran made it clear who they believe started this conflict, blaming Israel for launching the war, not the other way around. Iran insisted there is no official agreement on any ceasefire or halt to military actions. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that if Israel does not cease its “illegal aggression” against Iran by 4 a.m. Tehran time, their response will continue. Iran said the final decision on stopping its military operations would be made later. 

" 'As of now, there is NO ‘agreement’ on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations,” Araghchi wrote. “However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards." 

" 'Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood, and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute,” Araghchi said.

"This was the first official remarks by Iran to Trump’s claimed ceasefire between Iran and Israel." . . .

AOC Should Be 'Tried for Treason' Over Trump Impeachment Calls: Giuliani - Newsweek    Democrats calling for President Donald Trump to be impeached over the U.S.'s military strikes on Iran should be "tried for treason," Rudy Giuliani has said.

"The former mayor of New York, an ardent supporter of the president, made the comment on Newsmax's Sunday Agenda after Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat from New York known as AOC, criticized Trump's decision to bomb Iran as "clearly grounds for impeachment."

"Newsweek has contacted representatives for Giuliani and Ocasio-Cortez for comment by email outside standard working hours.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, also criticized Ocasio-Cortez, writing on X on Saturday: "Shut up you pathetic little hypocrite. YOU fully supported our military and IC running the proxy war against Russia in Ukraine. And you VOTED to fund the Ukraine war under your President with dementia. You don't get to play anti-war and moral outrage anymore."

. . ."But while Ocasio-Cortez and Green float impeachment talk, some powerful House Democrats have downplayed such efforts, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, House Judiciary ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD), and Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-CA), the chair of the House Democratic Caucus. 

"Others, such as Rep. Becca Balint (D-VT), have warned that trying to impeach Trump is a waste a time as it would be nearly impossible to pass due to a lack of votes needed to implement such a measure, given the GOP holds the majority in both chambers of Congress. 

"Moderate Democrats such as Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), who hail from battleground states where voters are more likely to have a favorable view of Trump, have called impeachment pushes “stupid politics.” Even Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in April declined to pursue articles of impeachment against Trump.
