Video shows officers enforcing 2020 Floyd protest curfew, NOT covid

Fact check   "The video, which is believed to originally be from May 30, 2020, does show members of the National Guard and MPD ensuring people were adhering to curfew orders that were set by Walz following protests after Floyd’s death, USA Today reported back in 2020.

"Officers can be heard yelling at residents to "get inside!" and when some residents continued to stay outside, one officer could be heard saying "light them up" before paint canisters were fired at a resident’s front porch."

Video shows officers enforcing 2020 Floyd protest curfew | Fact check  "An Aug. 13 Instagram video (direct linkarchive link) shows a news broadcast of a group of people in black uniforms walking down the middle of the street. Several men in the group yell at the person filming to "go inside now" before what sounds like gunshots go off.
"The news chyron says, "Twin Cities now under curfew until 6 a.m." . . .

Video shows troops fire paintballs at citizens on their own porch to enforce lockdowns while Walz reigned  "Before Governor Tim Walz became Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate, he was overseeing the state of Minnesota as it was ravaged by the 2020 George Floyd protests.
"While everyone remembers the curfews that came at the same time as the COVID-19 lockdowns, it’s worth remembering how some of those rules were enforced by leaders." . . .

IDF Recovers Body of Last Israeli Hostage In 'Large-Scale' Gaza Retrieval Operation -

 Conservative Review

"Netanyahu made clear on Monday that his next objective "is not reconstruction," saying Hamas must be fully disarmed and expelled from Gaza before Israel green-lights any efforts to rebuild."

"Israel on Monday recovered the remains of its final missing hostage, 24-year-old Ran Gvili, who died fighting Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, 2023, the Israel Defense Forces announced.
" 'Sergeant First Class Ran Gvili, who served in the Israeli Police Special Forces, 24 years old at the time of his death, fell in combat on the morning of October 7th, 2023, and his body was abducted to the Gaza Strip," the IDF said. "With this, all hostages from the Gaza Strip have been returned."
Ran Gvili
"As the IDF statement notes, all 251 living and dead hostages are now back in Israel after more than two years since Hamas's attack. The terror group, battered from its war with Israel, had claimed to face difficulties locating Gvili's body, leading the IDF to launch a "large-scale" retrieval operation in northern Gaza. Israeli forces scoured several sites in Gaza where they believed Hamas had placed Gvili's body during the war, including a cemetery in the Strip's northern section and other areas along the ceasefire line, eventually confirming the identity of the remains at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine."In a video posted to social media, Israeli president Isaac Herzog removed his yellow hostage pin, signaling that the nation is finally healing more than two years after Hamas's brutal terror rampage. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after Gvili's body was returned that Israel is now prepared to enter the second phase of the plan, which will include "disarming Hamas and the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip."
"Gvili's body emerged as a central sticking point for Israel after Hamas had located and handed over each living and dead hostage as part of the ceasefire agreement. The operation to retrieve his remains came just after Middle East peace envoy Steve Witkoff met with Netanyahu to press Israel to begin phase two of the process, which calls for the opening of aid corridors and the beginning of reconstruction efforts. While Israel on Sunday agreed to open the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt—a pipeline both for aid and weapons for Hamas—it appears that the two sides have differing visions on what the next step will entail."

"Democrats have normalized attacking federal officers. This is the bloody result. Enough is enough."

"On Saturday, the national media had a nervous breakdown over a border patrol agent shooting and killing a domestic terrorist who brought a gun and dozens of rounds of ammo to a “mostly peaceful protest.”
The New York Times best articulated the media spin: “An ICU nurse shot by federal agents was an American citizen with no criminal record, the city police chief said. A New York Times video analysis shows he was holding a phone, not a gun.”
"This reminds me of the New York Times story in 2014: “Autopsy Shows Michael Brown Was Struck at Least 6 Times.”
Not until Paragraph 9 did NYT bother to tell readers that the doctor never examined the body and based his report on X-rays. The doctor said the X-rays showed Brown was running from the cop. The waved his usual $10,000 fee.
Two months later, the real autopsy showed Brown was running toward the cop.
"Once again, a lie made it around the world before the truth got out—after Ferguson, Missouri, was devastated by riots. But now we have X to separate New York Times lies from the truth.
REPORTER: “You just made claims that the individual posed a threat to law enforcement.”
KRISTI NOEM: That is no claim. It is the facts. This individual showed up to a law enforcement operation with a weapon and dozens of rounds of ammunition. He wasn’t there to peacefully protest. He was there to perpetuate violence.
And he was asked to show up, and to continue to resist, by a governor who is irresponsible and has a long history of corruption and lying.
"At her press conference, Noem also said:
"Hundreds of protesters then showed up at the scene, they began to obstruct into assault law enforcement officers, we saw objects being thrown at them, including ice and other objects, and a rampant assault began—and even an HSI officer agent’s finger was bitten off." . . .

Gavin the Grinch; How Does He Always Win In California?

The Gen Z cheers for this guy sound like the same cheers one hears for Kamala, Antifa, Hamas, and pretty much every inane statement Whoopi, Joy, and Sunny make on "The View". TD

Newsom Does Davos  . . . "Many Californians would say a walnut is too large. Newsom’s arrogance and ignorance are astounding. For instance, in 2025, on his podcast (because what else does the governor of the nation’s largest state have to do?), he said it was “deeply unfair” that boys were playing in girls’ sports when discussing the trans issue with the late Charlie Kirk.

"Newsom’s ignorance is overwhelming. He’s also strangled the state with his willingness to lie to fit whatever narrative he wants the leftist press to report. Still, he can’t hide from how the state went from a huge surplus to a budget shortfall during his tenure. In 2019, his first year in Sacramento, there was a $21.4 billion budget surplus. His latest budget will have at least an $18 billion deficit. Maybe Newsom should take some economic classes at a Minneapolis Learing center." . . .

"Gavin Newsom is currently the Democrat Party’s leading presidential candidate for 2028. Those who like homeless drug addicts living on their street, thugs robbing them while shopping, fire hydrants without water, billion-dollar high-speed trains going nowhere, taxes raping their paycheck, and illegal aliens getting benefits citizens can’t afford will enthusiastically shout, “Patrick Bateman for President in 2028!' ”   . . . Robin M. 'Sparkle Beach Ken' Is Too Kind To Gavin Newsom

The California governor, widely expected to run for president in 2028 after he terms out of office this year, correctly figures that if he stays on offense, his own dismal record will be ignored — even if that offense is odd, off-putting, or oblique.

. . . "California Republican Party Chairwoman Corrin Rankin panned Newsom’s speech, saying, “Governor Newsom told Californians that homelessness is down, crime is at record lows, schools are improving, and Los Angeles is recovering after the Palisades fires. (He) painted a picture of a California that exists in his imagination.” . . .

Do Californians Realize How Badly They’re Getting Ripped Off? – Issues & Insights    . . . "Most of your leaders should be in jail, not winning reelection.

"It’s true that over the past four years, more than a million more people moved out of the state than moved in. But what about those who can’t or don’t want to leave?

"Why do you keep electing the same class of criminals to steal your money?

"I think part of the problem is that Californians don’t know how badly they’re getting screwed, because, while everyone knows which restaurants are worth the price, it’s not easy for average citizens to make direct comparisons between life in one state and another.

"I can leave the state just as easily as I came. But most can’t pick up and move. Nor should they have to. California is a beautiful state with enormous potential. Its citizens just need to refuse to pay Wolfgang Puck prices for Hamburglar-quality service."

How sad to consider all the above. Moving to California after discharge from the Marines, that state had its ducks all in a row; it was a perfect place for me to begin my civilian life and trade. Former Corporal Tunnel Dweller

Starfleet Academy – GrrrGraphics

. . . "This new Trek seems to have forgotten that and concentrated instead on identity and intersectionality. There are very few white males in the Academy. Some of the characters don’t seem to be qualified to be there in the first place. They don’t strike me as ‘the best of the best.’ Getting into the Academy used to be notoriously difficult. Now there’s a ‘sensitive’ Klingon. Some of the behavior is not in line with Academy discipline. Some are way overweight and one main character is a downright criminal—a charming criminal, sure, but why is HE in the Academy? It’s not clear."
The American Spectator | USA News and Politics  "An idiot is someone who’s convinced they aren’t one. That exempts me from the category. If you gather a bunch of idiots and put them in charge of the world’s major nations for a decade, you get roughly what we have now. Today is my favorite day of the year. My job for twelve months is to spot fools and prove that they are fools. My job today, one day a year, is to gather the biggest fools of all into a single ranking. The 2025 crop has easily surpassed all previous ones. Once again, I have the honor of presenting to my friends at The American Spectator the nominees for the 2025 Idiot of the Year Award — and I can’t wait to read your votes in the comments." . . .

Here's a sampling. More at the link.

Zohran Mamdani, the Democrats’ new icon. With economic ideas that would make a first-year economics student blush, Mamdani has become the new Democratic darling; everyone wants to be like him. My suggestion: they start by throwing themselves to the ground, butt up in the air, pointing away from Mecca.
Pete Buttigieg, attempting to convert to the faith of common sense (still a long way to go).  After spending his entire career relentlessly promoting identity politics and “wokeism,” now that he’s out of power, he’s suddenly realized that the left will never win another election if it doesn’t distance itself from these obsessions that divide society. It’s not that he’s had a change of heart; he just wants to win elections. Buttigieg’s conversion miracle was wrought by Saint Donald Trump.

"In the latest defilement of Gene Roddenberry's vision that spawned one of the most renowned sci-fi franchises in history, Alex Kurtzman and friends continue to tap-dance on the corpse of the once venerable property with glee.
