Governors Voice Grave Concerns on Immigration (Updated)

NY Times "In a private meeting with White House officials this weekend, Democratic governors voiced deep anxiety about the Obama administration’s suit against Arizona’s new immigration law, worrying that it could cost a vulnerable Democratic Party in the fall elections."

WAKE UP! THIS CRISIS IS STARING US IN THE FACE  While these governors are trying to balance budgets, Obama and the Democrats continue more spending burdens on the states like new ObamaCare unfunded mandates. Democrat governors are particularly upset with Washington because they managed to sell hope and change, but failed to deliver any jobs to their states. What else did they expect with an anti-business Community Organizer with zero business experience in the White House?

Charles Bolden’s outreach to Muslims ignores the West’s influence on science.

National Review
"In the 16th century, astronomer Taqī al-Dīn built one of the world’s great observatories in Istanbul. It rivaled that of the pioneering Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe — while it lasted.
"“Taqī al-Dīn’s observatory was razed to the ground by a squad of Janissaries, by order of the sultan, on the recommendation of the Chief Mufti,” Bernard Lewis writes in his book What Went Wrong? “This observatory had many predecessors in the lands of Islam; it had no successors until the age of modernization.” "

Military commissions return with a well-deserved guilty plea.

Andrew C. McCarthy "A guilty plea by one of Osama bin Laden’s most trusted minions demonstrates yet again that political accountability can spur even a Democrat-controlled Congress to correct the Obama administration’s wayward national-security instincts."

Obama Fails to Square the Illegal-Immigration Circle

Victor Davis Hanson  "What has changed is not the terrain, or the reality that many wish to enter illegally, but our attitudes about such fundamental issues as the rule of law, national sovereignty, and assimilation. Indeed, the president ordered a halt to the building of the border fence, suggesting an absence of will rather than a hopeless task."

Love Or Hate Sarah, She’s The Best Pick For RNC Chair

Big Government "In tracking the response to the launch of the site and petition to draft Sarah Palin for the Chairmanship of the RNC, we have seen varied reactions ranging from enthusiasm, to curiosity, to skepticism, to racist bigotry, to deafening silence. One common denominator in near uniformity, however, is the consensus that Michael Steele is, at best, ineffective as Chair of the RNC for one or more of the following reasons."

Obama Faces Left Wing Spiral Trap

Dick Morris  "When a president moves leftward, a vicious cycle begins to set in. Driven to raise the intensity of his rhetoric and to take positions further to the extreme, he alienates more and more centrists and moderates, forcing himself to rely more and more on left wing voters. This reliance, in turn, fuels an ever more pronounced leftward drift until he ends up with a vastly diminished political base.
"In Obama's case, his reliance on minority voters adds to the difficulty as he drives racially fair whites to see him as governing primarily in the interests of minority voters."

Where Do We Get Such Men?

Big Peace "The last line in the movie “The Bridges At Toko Ri” asks the poignant question about the US Military: “Where do we get such men?” That same question being asked during the Korean War film is just as applicable today in real life in Afghanistan, Iraq and any place else our armed forces have a presence. The answer: we get them from the legions of today’s fine generation of young men and woman across the country. In the case one Army lieutenant, the answer is Staten Island, New York."
Profiles of Valor: U.S. Army Sgt. Benjamin Marshall "... Marshall knew his comrades were in trouble without his help."

Iran to review woman's stoning verdict

Yahoo News "Human rights activists and other officials, however, warned that Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a 43-year-old mother of two, could still be hanged."

George Will uses Obama quote to crush liberal's attack on Sarah Palin

Newsbusters "On the vapidness meter, that ranks nowhere near, "We are the ones we have been waiting for," which was Obama's way of flattering the self-esteem of his supporters.
"Bravo!"

Malik Shabazz Praised Bin Laden In 2002

Sweetness and Light "“Let’s talk about this brother, because he’s a bold man… Usama Bin Laden, Mr. Bin Laden. Gotta give him his respect. He’s not bowing down. He’s not cutting [?] the tap dance… Mr. Bin Laden standing up. There’s a man born in Saudi Arabia bringing reform, Mr. Bin Laden. But you’re not supposed to say these things about him. I thought we had free speech.”
"More from one of Mr. Obama’s earliest supporters."

White House: Berwick Appointment 'Too Important' to Wait for a Hearing

ABC News   "This morning on ABC News’ "This Week," Senior White House Advisor David Axelrod insisted that President Obama’s recess appointment of Dr. Donald Berwick to be the administrator of The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services was simply “too important” to wait for a Congressional hearing."
