Monday Schadenfreude: Chesa Boudin gets religion on shoplifting

Monica Showalter   "There's nothing like a smarmy, smug leftist who's realized he's cooked his own goose.

"That brings us to the case of Chesa Boudin, the district attorney of San Francisco, who's effectively legalized shoplifting in the name of "criminal justice reform."  He's prompted massive store closures with ugly videos of broad-daylight robberies on large and small stores.  Boudin's refusal to prosecute has turned San Francisco into another socialist crime pit, Caracas.  And now, like his mentor Hugo Chávez, he's facing a voter recall.

"This seems to be concentrating his mind, given that he's suddenly changing his tune — and comically enough, fooling no one.

"Here's his tweet condemning the brazen open-air robbery on the Louis Vuitton boutique on tony Union Square:" . . .

Boudin
"To return to Chesa's tweet, well, that doesn't sound like the Chesa we know, perpetually blaming poverty and racism for this kind of crime, yakking on about "ending incarceration" and the "prison industrial complex."  He does his part to advance "social justice" by refusing to prosecute perpetrators.  What's happened, though, is that small perpetrators have grown into monsters, organized thievery rings, and they are expanding operations.  Around the time Union Square was emptied out, organized thieves targeted the Walnut Creek Nordstrom,
which I know since I've shopped there myself, is an easy BART trip away.

"Here's the other thing: Boudin has up until now stated that he's letting the little guys go so he can focus on taking down the big guys, the organized crime rings, kind of the same way Joe Biden says his ICE will take down only organized human-smuggling rings and ignore individual illegals.

"How's that going?  . . ."

Waukesha Suspect Darrell Brooks Jr. Made Rap Songs Ranting Against Trump, White Supremacy

Breitbart

"Darrell E. Brooks Jr., the suspect charged with five counts of homicide in Sunday’s Waukesha Christmas parade massacre, appears to have posted several politically charged songs online under the name “Mathboi Fly,” according to several reports.

Multiple outlets, including the Sun and Heavy, have connected Brooks to Mathboi Fly music videos, matching his appearance to mugshots and other social media photos of the 39-year-old Milwaukee man. The YouTube channel hosting those videos has now been deleted. A Soundcloud profile under the same artist’s name is still accessible.

Brooks uploaded a song titled “X” to Soundcloud three years ago. The song opens with a quote from Malcolm X, saying, “I think it would take a whole lot of nerve for white people today to ask negros do they hate them.” The next lyric from Brooks after the Malcolm X quote is “yeah.' ” . . .

Report: Waukesha Parade Massacre Suspect Darrell Brooks Jr. Accused of Running Over Woman Weeks Ago  "Darrell Brooks called himself a terrorist in his rap songs and rapped about his hate for white people. Praised black nationalism and violence against whites on his social media. This will all be censored on msm ."

RelatedWATCH: Jim Acosta Throws HISSY FIT During Expletive-Filled Rant About Fox News   "During his poorly-rated weekend show on fake news CNN, anchor Jim Acosta repeatedly used the term “bulls**t” when referring to Fox News and conservatives in general.

"Acosta’s rage comes after historic declines in ratings for the company.

“ 'It’s that time of the year, the days are getting shorter, it’s cold outside — it’s also when we start looking back at the past year,” Acosta began. “And what a year it was over on Fox — or, as I’ve described it this year, the bullsh*t factory. Just in the last week, they’ve churned out so much BS it’s hard to keep up.

"After playing out-of-context clips from Laura Ingraham and Jesse Watters, Acosta turned his focus to the most popular name in cable tv – Tucker Carlson.

“We once honored you with the distinction of bullsh*t factory employee of the month,” he said of Carlson. “But now that 2021 is coming to an end, we decided to honor you as our first-ever BS factory employee of the year,” Acosta continued.

WATCH: Whoopi Goldberg Opens Herself Up For Defamation Lawsuit After Calling Rittenhouse “Murderer”

Kyle Rittenhouse's message for President Biden: 'Understand the facts before you make a statement'

Rittenhouse’s attorney Mark Richards has blastedYahooconservative politicians looking to profit off his client.

Yahoo   . . ."Rittenhouse’s attorney Mark Richards has blasted news sites like CNN and MSNBC for what he claims is a distorted image of Rittenhouse as well conservative politicians looking to profit off his client.

" 'Carlson asked if he plans to “hold some of these liars to account.”

"“I have really good lawyers who are taking care of that right now,” Rittenhouse said. “So I’m hoping one day there will be some — there will be accountability for their actions that they did.”. . .

Tucker Carlson’s interview with Kyle Rittenhouse is fascinating

..."By the way, regarding any defamation actions Rittenhouse does bring, some are suggesting that he’s a public figure which, under New York Times v. Sullivan, makes it virtually impossible for him to prevail. In essence, the defense to such a suit would be that, once the media and the Democrat political class made an unwilling Rittenhouse famous, they insulated themselves from a lawsuit. That argument perfectly fits the classic definition of the Yiddish word “chutzpah”—the man who kills both his parents and then throws himself on the mercy of the court because he’s an orphan."...  By Andrea Widburg

Why do leftists believe such obvious falsehoods in the case of Kyle Rittenhouse?

. . ."But narratives have purposes, and the audience for them is not those who are objective or rational.  The audience is those who possess a will to act, and for whom "make-believe plays perhaps a more enduring role than any other factor."   Once people have been stirred to act, particularly if the act involves spectacle or is shocking, the movement appears larger and more significant than it actually is."Myths and narratives should not be dismissed simply because they are untrue or easily disproven.  They are intended to inspire people to act, and often act in dangerous and unpredictable ways.". . .

In Rittenhouse case, truth in the crosshairs, press objectivity be damned   . . ."No honest person with an I.Q. greater than that of an eggplant can deny this any longer."

CBS' 'Face the Nation' corrects claim Rittenhouse crossed state lines while armed: 'Oversight in language'

Please Stop Trusting Anything The Mainstream Media ‘Report’

Our hope is that we’re nearing rock bottom, if not already there, and a new day of objective journalism is at hand. If not, our country and our world are just going to grow darker.

Issues & Insights

"America’s mainstream, or legacy, media have an agenda. It’s not to subjectively report the truth but to further leftist ideas and policies, all of which are toxic. The press’ disinformation campaign to prop up critical race theory is yet another example of its effort to deceive, manipulate, and divide on behalf of the party it is constantly shilling for.

"A new study from the American Enterprise Institute found the media focus on schools teaching the history of slavery and racism, and largely ignore the “bedrock assumptions of CRT, including its explicit rejection of rationality and objectivity.”

"AEI’s Frederick M. Hess “examined all news accounts addressing CRT published over a one-year period by four major newspapers (the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today),” and several “influential education press outlets.” All are news accounts. None are opinion pieces.

“ 'Given that this admittedly revolutionary worldview is what motivates many objections to CRT-influenced pedagogy, one would expect news accounts to routinely address it,” Hess writes in “Media’s Misleading Portrayal of the Fight over Critical Race Theory.” . . .

Equal opportunity extremism: How women seized the moment in California’s far-right radical politics

The liberal California press thinks poorly of conservatives as you can see here:

Sacramento Bee  "On a warm Saturday morning in late September, the west lawn of the California Capitol resembled a back-to-school fair as moms huddled around booths set up along the sidewalk. This story was supported by the Pulitzer Center.
"Instead of brochures on lunch programs or sports teams, volunteers distributed packets and flyers on how to fight government tyranny. At one booth, a woman passed out homeschooling curriculum packets, which included a guide to the libertarian children’s book “The Tuttle Twins Learn About the Law.”
"A woman in the crowd wore a black tank top that read “Just a Regular Mom Trying Not to Raise Liberals.” A bed sheet banner declared: “THIS IS THE NEW CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT.”
And that day, about 100 participants crowded the West Steps for an “empower the people boot camp,” where they practiced locking arms and singing, and staged a “sit-in” against public health requirements. They chanted “My body, my choice,” “I will not comply” and “I do not consent,” co-opting the language used for decades by liberal activists.
"To anyone following right-wing and conservative activism over the years, the scene would be startling. Male-dominated groups like the Proud Boys, Three Percenters and Oath Keepers often steal the headlines in stories about political extremism.
" But women, experts say, are becoming powerful leaders in radical circles."

Never Trumpers Jonah Goldberg, Stephen Hayes Quit Fox News in Protest of Tucker Carlson’s January 6 Documentary

Breitbart  "Famous never Trumpers Jonah Goldberg and Stephen Hayes quit as contributors for Fox News in protest of Tucker Carlson’s January 6 documentary suggesting that the Capitol Hill riot may have in part been sparked by the FBI.". . .

. . .“Now, righting the ship is an academic question,” said Goldberg. “The ‘Patriot Purge’ thing meant: OK, we hit the iceberg now, and I can’t do the rationalizations anymore.”

Hayes, editor-in-chief of The Weekly Standard, worried that the documentary could lead people into believing “that there’s a domestic war on terror and it’s coming for half of the country.”

“That’s not true,” said Hayes. “The imagery of waterboarding and suggestions that half the country is going to be subject to this kind of treatment, that’s the same kind of treatment that the federal government used when it went after Al Qaeda.”

“[Tucker Carlson] pumped that stuff out into society, and all you need is one person out of every 50,000 people who watch it to believe it’s literally the story about what happened, that it’s true in all of its particulars and all of its insinuations,” he added. “And that’s truly dangerous in a way that the usual hyperbole that you get on a lot of cable news isn’t.”

Goldberg recalled National Review founder William F. Buckley, who famously purged the John Birch Society from the right-wing as part of his mission to impose “seriousness on conservative arguments.”

Car Plows into Crowd, Gunshots Fired at Holiday Parade in Wisconsin

Waukesha Attack Suspect ID'd; Was Released on Cash Bail Two Days Ago  ..."And, as I reported earlier, a man whose family was at the parade called into a local television station and reported that the driver was a black man with dreadlocks. That video has now been deleted.

"However, according to NY Post reporter Karol Markiewicz, the person in custody is a black man with dreadlocks, Darrell E. Brooks.". . .

WATCH: SUV ...Drives Through Crowd Of People At Christmas Parade In Wisconsin…

Newsmax

"A speeding red SUV plowed through a Christmas parade on Sunday, triggering what reports are calling a mass casualty event. An officer with the Waukesha police told Newsmax that shots had been fired but offered no further details about where or when.

"A police news conference revealed people had been killed, but the number or names of those killed was not given. Police said 11 adults and 12 children had been taken to hospitals.

"A person of interest is in custody, they said.

"According to Heavy, an officer reported that there were as many as 40 wounded or lifeless. Heavy adds that the shots fired came from the car that plowed through the parade, after which patrons began gathering loved ones inside shops.

"One man whose son was almost hit by the SUV told Heavy the details.
Michael Hurst, a woodworker from Waukesha whose son was almost hit by the SUV, says, "We just heard screaming up the parade route and looked over, and the red jeep or SUV came barreling through." . . .

It's okay. The driver in Waukesha was afraid for his life and defending himself from the unarmed holiday crowd. That's Wisconsin law now.

Biden says house burned ‘with my wife in it,’ adding to long list of embellished stories

Yahoo  "President Biden said last week that his house burned down with his wife Jill Biden inside before trying to correct himself, adding to a long list of personal stories he’s embellished over the years.

"Speaking on a New Hampshire bridge on Tuesday about his bipartisan infrastructure plan, Biden said, "Without this bridge, as I said earlier, it’s a 10-mile detour just to get to the other side. And I know, having had a house burn down with my wife in it — she got out safely, God willing — that having a significant portion of it burn, I can tell: 10 minutes makes a hell of a difference."

"Biden has recalled the story before, saying in 2013 that a fire "destroyed a significant portion" of his New Hampshire home.

"However, a 2004 report from the Associated Press, archived by LexisNexis, said lightning struck the Bidens’ home and started a "small fire that was contained to the kitchen." The report said firefighters got the blaze under control in 20 minutes and that they were able to keep the flames from spreading beyond the kitchen." . . .

The Real Crime in Kenosha

The American Spectator

It’s injustice from top to bottom in Kenosha, and it’s provoked by the media.

"The media crime syndicate strikes again, targeting a teenager and creating mayhem in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Will they pay a price? Doubtful.

"Kenosha, Wisconsin, a mid-sized midwestern town on the west side of Lake Michigan, has around 99,000 residents. There are family-owned restaurants and businesses and neighbors know one another. Kenosha is about five minutes from the Illinois border. It’s two hours to Chicago or Madison and 45 minutes to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

"Like New York and New Jersey, lots of people who work in Wisconsin live in Illinois and vice versa. Kyle Rittenhouse was one of those people. His divorced parents lived within 30 minutes of one another — his mom in Antioch, Illinois, his dad in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Kyle worked in Kenosha. He had friends and family in Kenosha. His situation is not at all unusual.

"A wife abuser and alleged rapist in town, Jacob Blake, was harassing his victim, and attempting to take her child in her vehicle. She called police. The police knew Jacob. When they got there and confronted him, Jacob reached into his vehicle, grabbed a knife, and was then shot by a police officer.

"The story the media ran with? That police shot an unarmed, innocent black man, again. It was not true that Jacob was innocent. It was not true that he was unarmed. The media used lies to incite frustrated Americans. All hell broke loose. This was in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death. Tensions were high. The media stoked them with misinformation and anti-police propaganda.

"Within hours, protestors were mobilized. A bus was on its way from Seattle. These were not the peaceful, Martin Luther King-type protestors, locking arms and singing for justice. No, these were the type that went on an arson rampage and burned out the downtown of Kenosha." . . .

Welcome to the Club, Kyle: Rittenhouse Joins Pantheon of Young Men the Left Tried to Destroy  . . ."It’s a club no one asks to join, and the price of admission is unfathomable duress followed by a lifetime of watching your back.

"I’m not talking about merely having the Twitter mob come down on you and maybe even losing your college admission or job, as horrible as that is. I’m talking about the incomprehensible weight of knowing millions of people who have never met you hate you and are howling for your head. The pain of being defamed. The emotional and financial strain on your loved ones. The horror of being railroaded for something you didn’t do. Suffocating uncertainty about whether you even have a future.

"Kyle Rittenhouse is the latest victim of systemic leftist persecution, but he’s certainly not the first.". . .

That Wasn’t Thought Out: MSNBC Columnist Encourages People to Cut Their Cable to Hurt Fox News

 The American Spectator

“If that fails, I will drop my cable subscription.”

Dean Obeidallah
"MSNBC’s Dean Obeidallah published a column Wednesday urging his readers to pressure their cable companies to offer packages that don’t include MSNBC’s biggest competitor, Fox News. He encouraged them to join him in canceling their cable if the companies do not comply.

“ 'This is about using our wallets to have an impact on issues that matter,” he said. “I refuse to fund a channel spreading bigotry and undermining our democracy.”

"Obeidallah explained that a basic cable subscription funds Fox News hosts like Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham, as well as MSNBC hosts like Joy Reid and Nicolle Wallace because cable providers bundle channels into a package and customers pay for all of the networks they receive. Cable operators then pay carriage fees to networks. He said that Fox News receives almost $2 billion in revenue from these fees.

“ 'If you pay for any basic cable package, you are helping fund everything that Fox News airs,” he said. “It’s infuriating that on some level you and I are complicit in the toxic fodder being peddled on Fox News by helping fund its content.”Obeidallah acknowledged that MSNBC is itself funded by these cable packages and receives these fees, but noted that these fees are much lower for his own network since its viewership is so much smaller.

"The average customer pays around $2 a month in fees to Fox News, which is the most-watched cable network. In comparison, they pay around $0.33 to MSNBC. During primetime hours, Fox News has nearly twice the viewership that MSNBC does.

"Obeidallah is not alone in calling for cable companies to scrap Fox News, but he might be the first person employed by a network to call on people to stop purchasing a cable package if the companies don’t comply and to pledge to “drop” his own subscription alongside them." . . .

After four years spent painting Trump as a unique threat to the nation, progressive pundits have begun moving on to new villains.

"Delivering into the political ether a line that had hitherto been reserved to satirists, MSNBC’s Dean Obeidallah proposed on Tuesday that Florida governor Ron DeSantis is “more dangerous than Trump.” “Former President Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to our nation, at least, if you support our democratic republic,” Obeidallah wrote. “But DeSantis is more dangerous.”

"That was quick.

"The proximate cause of Dean Obeidallah’s ire is that Ron DeSantis isn’t setting the same masking rules for children as Dean Obeidallah would if Dean Obeidallah were the governor of Florida." . . .

McCarthy Slams Maxine Waters In House Floor Defense Of Paul Gosar

Look at all the things said and done by Sheila Jackson, The Squad, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi. Etc ad nauseum! Rules for thee but not for me. Demorats are above the rules!!!

House Democrats have problem with Waters after judge calls her out . . ."House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., was already calling on Democratic leaders to take action to sanction Waters. Fox is told some Democrats are not pleased with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying that Waters shouldn’t apologize and didn’t think Waters' comments would spur violence.
"McCarthy now plans to introduce a resolution to censure Waters. Censure is one of the three formal modes of discipline in the House, wedged between reprimand and expulsion.
" 'Censure" is a severe, formal rebuke by the House. The full House must vote to censure a member. It requires a simple majority vote. The censured member appears in the well of the House with the Speaker presiding, officially chastising the offending member." . . .
Comment to this post:
19 April, 2021Please write your elected congressperson. If you object to waters behavior it is imperative that you advise your congress person to vote to the censure resolution mr. kevin McCarthy is introducing on Wednesday that could lead to further action. What she did was wrong and she must be held accountable. If you do nothing, nothing will happen
