Nearly 100 Ohio churches leave UMC amid homosexuality schism

  Church & Ministries News (christianpost.com)

"Nearly 100 congregations in Ohio have left the United Methodist Church amid the denomination's ongoing debate over homosexuality, joining thousands of other churches in the United States that have done the same.

"At a special session of the UMC West Ohio Conference held last weekend, 96 churches were granted their request to disaffiliate from the mainline Protestant denomination.

"The session was held at Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church in Tipp City, with around 800 clergy and laity in attendance. Bishop Gregory V. Palmer presided over the gathering.

"In addition to the 96 disaffiliations, the session also dealt with budgetary issues, recommending the sale of two camping properties and electing additional delegates to the UMC General Conference.

" 'We were empowered to make some challenging decisions," said Palmer in a statement. "We brought glory to God by the patient, honest, and respectful way we engaged one another. In spite of the challenges, we have come through, our future is open because God is able."

"In June, the West Ohio Conference voted to allow 172 congregations to disaffiliate from the UMC, having allowed 80 churches to leave the denomination last year. It is estimated that, at present, the regional body covering over 50 counties has a little over 600 member congregations remaining." . . .

Harvard Student Surrounded by Pro-Palestinian Mob in Latest Campus Madness –

While we haven’t quite reached that point yet, the madness on college campuses continues, and recently, a crowd of pro-Palestine demonstrators surrounded a Harvard student on campus and yes, yelled “shame, shame, shame” at him. The incident occurred on October 18, but video footage was only posted on Wednesday.

RedState   . . ."The student's crime? He was videotaping them. Which begs the question: Why do all these supposed tough guys (and girls) whine like bratty kids when someone exposes their own behavior? If you’re not proud of it, don’t do it.

The incident occurred at a “Stop the genocide in Gaza” die-in demonstration by the Harvard Business School, where hundreds of participants laid on the ground and pretended to be dead:

According to the Harvard Crimson, the school’s student newspaper, the confrontation at the demonstration was sparked when the accosted student “began to film demonstrator’s faces.”

“Within minutes, he was escorted out by protest organizers, who blocked his camera with their keffiyehs — traditional scarves worn by Palestinians that have come to symbolize Palestinian nationalism,” the newspaper wrote. “Demonstrators yelled ‘shame’ at the disruptor as he left.”

"One of the protesters has reportedly been identified as Ibrahim Bharmal, the editor of Harvard Law Review.

"This is allegedly our nation's best and brightest:"

Cornell Students Told to Avoid Kosher Dining Hall, Jewish Students Reportedly Afraid to Leave Their Rooms

One Sick War

 Victor Davis Hanson; American Greatness

There are 500 million Arabs in the world, and nearly 2 billion Muslims—but only 9 or so million Israelis.  Nearly fifty percent of the world’s oil reserves are found in the Muslim Middle East. Westerners, like tiny Israel, are considered too rich and powerful, while non-Westerners are romanticized as blameless, victimized underdogs.

One incredibly distressing picture shows blood smeared across a nursery

"There is something surreal, even sick about the current Gazan war.

"Throughout European and American cities and campuses, tens of thousands of Middle East immigrants and students, and radical leftists chant nonstop “Free Palestinian from the River to the Sea.”

"More recently, they are also yelling, “Israel, you can’t hide, we caught you in genocide.”

"Consider the hypocrisy of that dual messaging.

"Hamas and its supporters are openly and eagerly calling for the genocidal end of Israel by wiping it out from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.

"Yet at the same time they also claim it is Israel that is committing genocide—the very current self-described agenda of Hamas and its expatriate community of devotees!

"The war has become crazier still.

"Hamas and its megaphones abroad also blast Israel daily for retaliating for the October butchery of some 1,300 Israeli infants, children, women, and the elderly.

"They further demand Israel must be selective in its airborne targeting of the Hamas killers, who burrow beneath hospitals, mosques, and hospitals and use civilians as shields.

"Hamas takes for granted that a supposedly heartless Israel nevertheless will be reluctant to strike the Hamas terrorists when and if they are surrounded by civilians.

"Indeed, Gazans are put in more danger by Hamas than they would otherwise be by the Israel Defense Forces." . . .

Kfar Aza kibbutz attack: Children, women, elderly 'butchered' in Hamas attacks on border communities, IDF says | CNN  . . ."Maj. Gen. Veruv said his soldiers spent “about 48 hours” fighting “waves and waves of terrorists” on roads and in neighboring communities. He said he had started fighting militants in the Yakhini moshav (community) on Saturday, moving then “from battle to battle,” on the road to Sderot, before reaching the Be’eri kibbutz on Monday evening.

“ 'I saw hundreds of terrorists in full armor, full gear, with all the equipment and all the ability to make a massacre, go from apartment to apartment, from room to room and kill babies, mothers, fathers in their bedrooms,” Veruv said." . . .

Hamas killers 'roasted babies in an oven' during October 7 terror attack, Israeli first responder claims | Daily Mail Online   . . ."Continuing, he says: 'As they opened the bag there was a gruesome sight, what appeared to be a baby.' He said the 'body was really swollen [and had] what looked like a heating element attached.

" 'They told us afterwards, after we left the room and they had worked on the body to identify it [that] after the terrorists murdered the parents in a very gruesome way at home, they then took the baby and literally put him into the kitchen oven.

" 'While the baby was still alive they put him into the oven and they cooked the baby alive,' he claims. 'The body was burned and unfortunately, as far as I could see, the body became swollen as a result [a] heating element of the oven became attached to the body itself.

" 'We must show the world these gruesome sights and to tell the world that it impossible to deny what these savages did,' he says." . . .

. . ."Upon breaching the Israeli dorm, wrestling coach Moshe Weinberg and weightlifter Yossef Romano were killed almost immediately. Horrifyingly, Romano, according to the Associated Press, was castrated and Weinberg’s body was thrown to the street. Some escaped, but nine Israelis were quickly taken hostage, including weightlifters David Berger, who was born in America, and Ze’ev Friedman, wrestlers Eliezer Halfin and Mark Slavin, track and field coach Amitzur Shapira, sharpshooting coach Kehat Shorr, fencer Andre Spitzer, weightlifting judge Yakov Springer and wrestling referee Yossef Gutfreund.

"A 9 a.m. deadline was set for the terrorists’ political prisoner release demands—not meeting it, they said, would result in one hostage being executed every hour." . . .

Below: "But the helicopters which awaited them became the scene of almighty gun-battle as police snipers tried to ambush the group. Within two hours, all of the athletes were dead - slaughtered inside the helicopters by the Palestinians. One German police officer also lost his life and only three of the hostage-takers survived."

A member of Black September used a grenade to destroy one of the two helicopters that had Israeli hostages inside. The burned-out army helicopter is pictured here at Fürstenfeldbruck air base on Sept. 7, 1972.

Hilarious Trick-or-Treaters Roast Joe Biden –Respectfully, of course

PJ Media

"I hope these trick-or-treaters' parents have their taxes in perfect order for the audits on the horizon, because their Halloween mockery of "President" Joe Biden is way too funny. Of course, politics is always a popular theme at Halloween — why else would costume suppliers manufacture presidential masks every year? But it's one thing to buy a mask and put it on, and it's another to play the part convincingly. When these young revelers layered their role-playing with mockery, the result was spot-on political satire."

"To be sure, the blundering, phony, incompetent, and crooked Biden administration is an easy target, and there was more than one effective lampoon of its leaders this year. But far and away the best comedic work was done by good, old-fashioned irreverent teenage boys. No wonder the left calls them "toxic" and tries to castrate them with humorless nag culture.

"First place for Halloween 2023 was a tie between two sets of magnificent young men who had the same idea: one of them dressed as Biden while his buddies transformed themselves into his Secret Service detail/care providers. Watch these comic wizards destroy the pretenses of the leftist establishment in seconds. Here's group one:" . . .

"It's so obvious that these people don't belong here that the immediate reaction of a number of politicians was to demand that their visas be revoked. (Nobody looked at anti-war protests in the '60s and said, Revoke their visas!)

These groups refuse to understand that in the lines to the crematoria, the Nazis/Hamas/ISIS does not separate the Jews who are pro-Nazi/Hamas/ISIS from those who are not.

"There are Israeli counterparts to these groups, like Breaking the Silence, Yesh Din, Machsom Watch and HaMoked. On Oct. 18, they posted a plea to President Joe Biden referencing both Israeli and Palestinian civilians, but their focus was clearly on their “Palestinian colleagues in Gaza under bombardment of the Israeli military. … In Gaza, the civilian population must be shielded from the fighting.”

"Are there any such statements being issued by Palestinian groups? Just asking.

"The news isn’t all appalling, however. Hamas’s live-streamed atrocities were a wakeup call for many. There has been a spike in American and European Jewish donations to the IDF, Magen David Adom and many humanitarian causes in Israel, where hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes and countless families have been murdered or wounded, while others must bury relatives and take on the care of orphaned children." . . .

Columbia Professors Now 'Appalled' by Antisemitic Campus

 Jazz Shaw – HotAir

"On Monday, a group of dozens of faculty members at Columbia University in New York signed and published a letter supporting the right of students on their campus to protest against Israel and support Hamas. The letter caught fire in the media and plenty of people noticed. Some of those people turned out to be the rest of the faculty on the campus who had not signed the letter. They quickly realized that they were now the center of national attention, particularly after attacks on Jewish students and threats of violence were breaking out at Columbia. They hastily penned their own letter yesterday, describing how they were “appalled” by all of the antisemitism on display at their university. Will that be enough to stem the damage to the institution? (NY Post)

More than 200 faculty members at Columbia University said Tuesday they were “appalled by the spate of antisemitic incidents” on the Manhattan campus, a day after scores of their colleagues signed a letter defending students who supported Hamas’ brutal Oct. 7 terror attack.

The new letter came after Jewish students rallied on campus to blast the administration’s “inaction” on what they called an “unsafe” atmosphere in the weeks since the attack, due to at least one attack on an Israeli student, death threats and rampant hate speech and vandalism.

While the faculty members agree “there should be robust debate about complex and difficult issues” concerning the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, they say “there is no excuse for Hamas’s barbaric attack on Israeli civilians.”

"As walkbacks go, I suppose this was about the best they could do. The phrase “no excuse” draws a fairly strong red line in the sand. It was perhaps somewhat weakened by the rest of the first two paragraphs where they included the obligatory support of “robust debate” over what they describe as a “complex and difficult” issue in Israel and Gaza. (Read the full letter here.)" . . .

Hamas chief offers up the blood of Gaza's women and children to keep his terrorists motivated

More than Anti-Semitism: We are All Targeted - American Thinker

. . .Student activists and the faculty members who have filled their heads with this mush (to use Rush Limbaugh’s polite term for what we really know originates from where the sun don’t shine) have no direct interest in the Israeli-Hamas (Iranian) conflict. So why would they choose against Israel, a democratic society with liberal values allied with the country within which they live? Is it pure ignorance, like the Harvard group “Queers for Palestine” which does not seem to realize that under Palestinian law, being homosexual is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and in Hamas-ruled Gaza, by death? Or has Israel simply been assigned a role in a larger ideological drama: the domestic war against western values and success?. . .

Hamas chief offers up the blood of Gaza's women and children to keep his terrorists motivated - Monica Showalter    . . ."Normal nations ... and men ... will fight and sacrifice themselves for their women and children. That's the textbook definition of masculinity. That's what Israel is doing as it seeks to defend itself against the monstrous terrorists who laid waste to the land and tortured and murdered 1,400 innocent women, children, elders and many others.

"Now this creep wants to sacrifice his fiefdom's women and children, presumably because he can't motivate his minions to fight for his repellent cause otherwise.

"On one level, that's understandable, actually, because there's nothing good about it. What's more maggoty than going out and slaughtering innocent women, children, babies, handicapped people, and old people, which is what Hamas pulled on October 7? Anyone can kill the vulnerable. It takes a man to take up arms against actual warriors, which none of them are, nor do they have the courage to do." . . .

Democrats Love the IRS More Than They Love Israel

The American Spectator | USA News and Politics  "We always knew this, but now there is no further doubt: Today’s Democrat Party is a congregation of slaves devoted to the federal government’s perpetual expansion at the expense of every other consideration.

"And that certainly includes Israel, amid a war foisted upon it by the Democrats’ friends among the Palestinian Arabs and their Iranian backers.

"There is a bill to provide some $15 billion in aid for Israel now moving through Congress. But new House Speaker Mike Johnson did something interesting with it. (READ MORE from Scott McKay: Here’s to You, Cornel West and Dean Phillips!)

"He tied the appropriation for Israel aid to a corresponding cut — namely, to the $80 billion funding increase for the IRS that the Democrat-led House passed in the dying throes of the last Congress.

"This, we’re told, was a colossal mistake on Johnson’s part:

Johnson has made a “huge and consequential blunder” by tying additional U.S. aid for Israel to a cut in Internal Revenue Service (IRS) funding, according to a senior Democratic-leaning political strategist.

On Monday, House Republicans introduced a bill that would provide an additional $14.3 billion in aid to Israel which is currently fighting Hamas, in exchange for an IRS funding cut of the same value. Spending on the IRS was beefed up in 2022 as part of President Biden’s flagship Inflation Reduction Act, which also substantially increased investment in green energy.President Biden has requested $106 billion from Congress, $61.4 billion of which would go to Ukraine, $14.3 billion to Israel, 13.6 billion to secure the U.S.-Mexico border, with the remainder for Taiwan and other humanitarian work including in Israel, Gaza, and Ukraine. However, Republicans in the House—some of whom oppose any additional aid to Ukraine—instead introduced the standalone bill offering financing for Israel in return for IRS cuts. . . .

From the generation that gave us Antifa: Nolte: Majority Aged 18-24 Say Hamas Massacre of Israelis Was 'Justified'.....

This Harvard Caps Harris Poll was taken before the death toll increased to 1,400.

Does anyone have any more questions about how something like the Holocaust could happen?

The poll asked, “Do you think the Hamas killing of 1200 Israeli civilians [in] Israel can be justified by the grievances of Palestinians or is it not justified?” And…

A slim majority of those aged 18-24 said it was “justified.” Only 49 percent said the massacre was “not justified.”

Parents, Board Members Fight Back Against Anti-Israel, Antisemitic Teachers, Faculty in California

Public school teachers’ unions and university faculties in California are facing a backlash from parents and board members after taking radical anti-Israel and antisemitic positions that, in some cases, celebrated the Hamas terror attacks on Israel October 7.

Cancel Culture Comes for Hamas Lovers on Campus - The American Spectator | USA News and Politics

Business leaders, board members, and major donors are waking up to the putrid ideas they've been supporting. "These incidents are exposing the rot in higher education that took hold long ago."

"Progressives and the universities that produce them are suddenly and unexpectedly paying a price for decades of Israel hating on campus. Who knew?

"Major university donors and board members are breaking affiliation with schools that have soft-peddled Hamas terrorism. They are calling schools to account for outrageous ideas being expressed by students and faculty regarding the October 7 terror attacks in Israel.

"Granted, anti-Israel views have been the standard for years on many campuses, so it is nothing new. But in the wake of the worst day for Jews since the Holocaust, campus antisemitism is getting a fresh look.

"The day after Hamas slaughtered over 1,200 people in Israel, more than thirty “Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups” released a statement holding “the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence.” This is the same type of virtue-signaling nonsense they might have trumpeted after any incident in that part of the world, without criticism or question.

"But this time the kids misread the room. “Blame Israel” did not quite work when Hamas operatives were busy streaming videos of killing families, throwing young women into trucks to haul back to Gaza for unspeakable abuse, or dragging the corpse of one of them through the streets behind a motorcycle." ‘Mere Memory’ Is Not Sufficient to Prevent Genocide)

From ‘Never Again’ to ‘Now and Again’ -

  The American Conservative

As antisemitic incidents spike in the rest of Europe, Hungary’s restrictive immigration policies are vindicated.

"As Israel continues to count and identify the bodies of the October 7 Simchat Torah massacre by Hamas, and as the number of civilian victims used as human shields by Hamas in Gaza continues to rise, revolutionary Islamists are now filling European streets and squares, attacking police and synagogues, and, above all, proclaiming loudly: “Here we are, and we stand by what happened.”

This problem stems from both failed demographic and immigration policies. While Hungary’s Viktor Orbán has accepted some level of immigration and has started to let in tens of thousands of third world migrant workers to deal with the ongoing global recession, he has done so under strict regulations. Notably, the immigrants are primarily from non-Muslim countries.

"The rest of Europe, however, takes a different approach. A quick glance at British statistics shows that the foreign-born population has been growing steadily since 1921 with a radical jump after 2001. In 2001, there were 1,600,000 Muslims in the U.K.. By 2021, their number had increased to 3,868,000. The Muslim population of the U.K. is expected to grow to 13 million by 2050. West Germany began admitting its first Turkish migrant workers in the 1960s; their number have since ballooned to four million. In addition, Germany has taken in almost a million Syrian migrants, which has resulted in further problems. In 2021, 65 percent of Syrians in Germany were unable to find work, placing additional strain on Germany’s famed social welfare system. These radical changes did not occur in centuries, but in decades." ...

How Nazis courted the Islamic world during WWII    . . ."On the Muslim side one cannot generalize. Some of the Muslim allies of the Nazi regime — most importantly the famous Mufti of Jerusalem — shared the Nazis' Jew-hatred. In the war zones, in the Balkans, in North Africa, and in the Eastern territories, the picture is more complicated. In many of these regions, Muslims and Jews had lived together for centuries. And in some cases, Muslims would now help their Jewish neighbors, for example hiding them from the Germans."
